Anyway to NAND without SD?

The SD card reader on my Kaiser broken and doesn't work... (H/W problem.)
Is there anyway to NAND without SD? My kaiser already HardSPL and I can flash the Android kernal with CustomerRRU.exe via USB. However, it seems SD card is needed to flash the 2nd part (Chief's flavor). Anyway to do this without SD?
Thanks1
As far as I know, once you go NAND you pretty much rely on a working SD card reader. What exactly is wrong with the SD card reader?
If you feel brave and have some soldering skills, you could try to open up your Kaiser and repair it. Most of the time when the SD card reader is broken, the solder joints are broken. Which is not a surprise since the only thing holding the SD card slot is the solder. The annoying problem is getting the protective plate off the card reader slot, if there is one.
Thanks for the reply! My Kaiser seems got a broken flex cable or really serious problem since not only the SD doesn't work, yesterday the phone cannot even detect SIM card! Guess need to fix it one way or the other... Anyway thanks for your reply!
I actually had a similar problem with another phone. Those tiny cables that run through the phone are extremely fragile. I was able to fix it by lightly sanding the connector with 2000 grit sand paper, and coating it with dielectric grease afterward. Even then, I still had to pull it out and push it in again a few times before the cable was working.

External SD card reader broken

I don't know why, but my external sd card reader DOESN'T clip the SD Card when inserted. It always ejects the card
I considered to fix it myself, but it seems that a tiny piece is not fitting well so I'm thinking of ordering a replace part that I could use to get over this.
I have found screens, buttons, SIM readers, but nothing about SD card readers. Do any of you know where to buy this ext. reader?? Thanks!
I believe its directly a part on the motherboard but i could be wrong ...
If it were mine, id just take it apart and fux it myself

128 GB SD

Does anyone know if the new SanDisk 128 GB micro SD will work on the Note 8?

Well until there is a new release of Samsung's firmware, my guess is it won't. Samsung has a propitiatory SD file system that is specified to 64GB, at the time of release.

Not sure if this will work, but you can try partitioning the 128gb SD card to 64gb and format. What ever you do with the other half partitioned or not will not be seen or used. This way you can always have it for when you upgrade to new hardware or if Samsung updates the new 4.4.3 OS to use 128gb cards. I have seen many vendors do such things with SD card compatibility after a year or so of release. Though not many tablets sport external SD let alone 64GB or more for them.

For me it is music and video... Wife has 50GB in music files alone. Movies can be swapped out as needed. The nice thing is you can always swap out the SD card... Ah, I bet nobody has given this mod out yet... Samsung Note 8.0 and possibly other Note tablets have the SD slot so that the chip is upside down. I find, because I trim my nails often, that getting the bugger out of the slot to be annoying. I used a trimmed off 5/8"x 3/8" section of packing tape as a flap to pull out the SD card once ejected. I fold it over so that there is about 1/8" of flap and 1/4" of tape holding the SD card on both sides. A razor hobby knife will work fine if scissors seem to be trouble. This way the flexible tape will lay flat when the cover is in place.

I just wondering why there are so many limits to support sd card size. 64bits is almost everywhere. Wish more advanced disk format could be the industrial standard apart from the fat family. Then the life will be much easier.
As per phandroid it says that it should work. Check the link below

has anyone tried dual sim + sd card hack

Has anyone tried using both dual sim and micro SD card in their phone? We know that the plastic cover from the SIM card can be removed by heating it from the metal side.

Yes, I've tried it and it worked although I had to sand the sim a little and cut of about 1mm from two sides of the Sim. I also used a double sided tape instead of gluing the sim directly on the sdcard because I didn't want to have something permanently attached to the sdcard.

You had to make me take it out. Here you go.
Here you go...
Below are the tools and steps to complete within 30 minutes.... The difficult part is removing the nano-SIM from its panel...
Apparatus:
Step 1 : Take a pix of the microSD Card serial number (if you care....)
Step 2 : Use sand-paper (P400 hardness or similar...) to thinning the rear of the microSD Card (not compulsory... but for genuine SanDisk microSD card, there is a "bulge" underneath the serial number. We have to remove this "bulge" in order to ensure the tray will not stuck after combined with nano-SIM).
Step 3 : Use sand-paper to thinning the front panel of the microSD Card. This is compulsory in order to ensure we can "easily" remove the SIM tray for future maintenance.
Step 4 : Use lighter/candle to split the nano-SIM chip from its panel. Allow 2 seconds burning is enough. Use two tweezzers to remove the nano-SIM carefully. Have to be quick or else the nano-SIM will get "glued" to its panel again. But you can re-heat slowly again. This is the hardest part of all the steps....
Step 5 : Stick the nano-SIM to the double-sided tape. Some prefer a drop of quick-glue. I prefer double-sided tape for future maintenance (if either microSD card or nano-SIM is damaged, can easily remove becoz of double-sided tape).
Step 6 : Cut the excessive tape to the shape of the nano-SIM. Properly ORIENTATE the nano-SIM so that the "curved" side of the chip-pattern is at the right-hand-side of the microSD card panel. Align and stick the nano-SIM to the microSD card as shown.
Step 7 : The completed set of nano-SIM plus microSD card.

However, better safe than sorry.... Just get the nano SIM extender below for less than 2 dollar...

I also make this hack. Sim and sd card working nice....
I'm on move........
I have done it and its working. But I haven't glued the sim plate with SD card yet its working. Took me 10minutes. BTW thanks all for your help.
I know this is an old thread, but is the only one I found relative to my question. I just bought a Xiaomi 11 ultra and wanted to know if this hack would work on this phone. It's got 2 sim slots but no hybrid/memory slot. I'm hoping this will work, because the jump in price from 256 to 512 was $200. Thank you

Sim 2 and MicroSD working together

I managed to work sim card 2 and MicroSD card at the same time by following this tutorial:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=43VX5dfkB_E
and here is a most descriptive process:
https://androidcommunity.com/heres-...ds-microsd-card-in-a-galaxy-s7-edge-20160323/
I used a Stanley knife to lower the top part of the micro SD to the root so that it could fit in the tray, as shown in the picture attached . Then I stuck to the microsd with super bonder applied in the corners only. Put with carefull the mod on tray and tray on phone... and restart the phone. And now you have the parts working perfect together, i have two sims and a 32 gb sdcard at same time
Have you got a picture of the sd card in the tray? I suspect that the p20 pro would be capable of this based on the number of pins I can see in the slot.
