10.1-20130827-UNOFFICIAL-callisto WIFI FIX Please - Samsung Galaxy 551 Callisto

I am using the Australian Galaxy GT-I5510 (Galaxy 551) and I flashed @ankur's CM10.1 Jellybean 4.2.2 RC3.
The flash was successful and I had finally changed the clock speed to 748 and it's smooth. No complain for keyboard issues, but the bigest upset is the WIFI. It never turns on, it sits for minutes on "Turning Wi-Fi on" and then turns off.
Is it kernel problem with the CyanogenMod 10.1? My wifi works perfect when I restore NewExperience Gingerbread 2.3.7 with CM7 I think.
Someone please help me out, the thread is closed and support discontinued, but ankur said Wifi works...

No response from even those who used the ROM? /Bump

WIFI unusable with non-sense ROMs

Hello,
I have been using Sense-based roms without issue. Stock HTC, Android Revolution and LeeDrOiD_HD. Wifi sucks on them all until I activate "Best Wifi Performance" under WIFI Advanced Settings.
When I say WIFI sucks, I mean it's basicly useless. GMAIL even says "No Connection". Market fails, web browsing is like back in the 14.4k days.
Once the "Best Wifi Performance" is on, things work as expected.
My problem is when I use a non-Sense ROM, since that setting is nowhere to be found. I would love to switch to a Gingerbread ROM, but useless WIFI makes this impossible for me.
Anyone else having this issue? Any possible fix?
Thanks,
-jc
PS: This is my first post....
Have you tried upgrading the radio?
no problems
I have no problems whit wifi on my DHD did try a few roms Leedroid 1.41 en works like a dream then i start using Modified CyanogenMod 7.0 Beta Nightly #20 From McDV en same no problems but i like the CM 7 more its cleaner whit no sense but wifi is good here on both roms did upgrade the radio to
12.28e.60.140fU_26.04.02.17_M2
Regards Wielo
No problems with wifi here either, on CM 7 at the moment but to be honest never have had a problem with wifi even on stock rom

[Q] Wi-Fi during sleep

Is it me or when you have either Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep set to Never or Only when plugged in WiFi doesn't seem to actually turn itself off?
If anyone else is noticing this, please post.
If you aren't or know how to fix it, hell post as well
sup times_infinity, didnt know you had a gnex? Cant help with the wifi sleep issue since I dont have a gnex yet...soon tho!
It does not switch off if you are using the Internet call feature. It seems to keep the wifi alive with its keep-alives for Voip. Once removing the account it went properly to sleep. I used internet call only for outgoing calls!
I'm currently on 4.0.2.

My SGN have the same issue, when screen go to idle the wifi disconnect.
I try to change every setting but problem remain.
I suppose is a bug of ICS, also in my sgs after flash in ICS rom have the same issue.
In SGS when was with CyanogenMod based on Android 2.3.7 and set wifi to never sleep, the wifi connection stay alive.
Ohai Times_Infinity So when are you gonna give us a nyancat non-ROM? (kidding, kidding...)

WiFi problem AOKP m5

Wtf? This started happening last night.. When ever the screen goes off, or if i press the power button to turn off screen /block phone, the wifi turns off :S
Im on francos kernel and his app updated last night.. Dunno if that is causing the issue

I'm experiencing the same issues along with random 3g/h data loss's as well. I'm using faux's 17m kernel. I also upgraded to B36 and did a full wipe and am still experiencing these issues.
I have a wifi problem as well, but mine is that it won't connect. It turns on and all, but just doesn't connect to my router. Laptop and PS3 connect fine, but nothing to my Gnex. However, it was working fine this morning, last time it did was at 8 am. Any ideas?

Bad idea to bump this old thread lol.. I figured that i can not use wifi keep alive app and turn on the keep wifi on native policy at the same time.. Is you do so.. The wifi goes crazy..
As for your issues try flashing a different kernel?
Galaxy Nexus AOKP m5 Franco kernel m3
I've now tried several kernels (Faux, Morfic, Popcorn, Stock) and no matter what wifi won't connect. I have two routers in my house, one is a wireless N and one is a G. My Gnex won't even recognize the N router...
As much as I LOVE AOKP i've gotta to to CM9 until this is fixed.

Do you have security on your routers? If so, read the thread I started about it.

Wi-Fi issue in CM10

I have recently installed CM10 which is cooked in this topic, Everything worked awesome expect one thing, Each time I switch Wi-Fi on, Wi-Fi state locked on "Searching Wi-Fi" and will not find any thing, Also I installed WiFixManager but the problem still remains.
Any ideas ?!

Intermittent WiFi Stability on AOSP

Hey everyone, just came over here from the HTC One X ( AT&T ) forums, smashed the screen on it and used an upgrade to get an AT&T SGS3, loving it so far. Had it rooted and custom recovery, and was on a custom ROM not even an hour after getting home. Anyway, onto the main part of this post.
I tried CM10 ( the 11/01 and 11/02 nightlies), both of the AOKP, and LiquidSmooth, and on all of them, my WiFi stability is not there. It seems to disconnect at random, if connect at all, and when i walk out of range of the router, and then come back, it will not automatically reconnect until i go into airplane mode. Trying to turn WiFi itself off and back on does not work - it won't turn off/back on, it sticks at what it was at.
TouchWiz ROMs, everything works just fine. I'm pretty sure it was working on MIUI as well, but i didnt have MIUI on there long enough to properly test it.
I am using the UCLH9 radio, since AFTER searching the forums pretty in-depth, i found that all radios prior to UCLH9 had wifi driver issues. Flashing this new radio did NOT fix the issue.
I have tried both stock CM10 kernel AND Ktoonsez's kernel (which is pretty freakin awesome, btw! :good: ) and still have WiFi problems.
I have tried flashing ROMs through both TWRP and CWM Recoveries, and have done a full wip of /system /data /cache and /dalvik-cache 3 times each before flashing a ROM.
I'm a pretty competent at flashing ROMs and troubleshooting problems, I am a pretty well-known beta-tester for multiple Sense and AOSP ROMs over at the One X forums, and I have a very good knowledge of how to work ADB and Fastboot. I've been around XDA for a little while, and I know the way of things around here. (don't want you guys thinking im just another a$$hole that threw a post up the second a problem occurred without doing some research first!)
If anyone has ANY ideas as to what may be causing the wifi drivers to crash, PLEASE fill me in.
I've tried all the same things you have and have had no success. The best wifi stability I got was the AOKP_d2att milestone1 w/ lean kernel combination, but wifi would stay connected for 3-5 minutes as opposed to 30 seconds.
I briefly tried CM9, but that still had wifi issues. I might try a few other ICS roms
I came across these threads that documented the problem across other phones:
code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=34942
code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=36993
I've decided that I'm stuck with ICS until the official JB comes out.

Well, I flashed Intergalactic, which is a modded Stock ICS TW ROM based on the AT&T firmware. Shortly after, I reinstalled TWRP recovery and flashed task's AOKP with ktoonsez's kernel, and WiFi works!
This is similar to an issue we had several weeks back with CM10 based ROMs on the HTC One X, you couldn't get LTE unless you flashed a ROM based on Android 4.0.3, it was something with CM10 obviously, because it was fixed in one of the October nightlies iirc.
Try flashing intergalactic and then task and ktoonsez aokp and see if your WiFi is working and let me know
Sent from my SGH-I747 using Tapatalk 2
Nope, no luck this way either.
Wifi under Intergalactic works fine.
TWRP flash AOKP milestone 1 alone, with the ktoonsez kernel, or with lean kernal and my wifi still hangs after ~1 minute of inactivity. The phone grinds to a halt. If you can get to the settings, it says that I am connected to my router, but shows no signal bars. If you can then turn wifi off, the phone un-freezes, and (except for no wifi access), the phone is back to normal. If you now turn wifi back on, it stays up for another minute or two and goes down again.
I'm open to any other suggestions.
Thanks though
Avram
i am using task and ktoonsez rom....when i first installed it, i noticed wifi dropping, it was annoying.
kinda dont happen anymore. The only 2 things i can think of that might have helped me is; i flashed a new modem i747MVLLE8(I'm with rogers), and under Wi-fi(menu/advanced), i unchecked poor connections.
also my router is 2.4ghz and 5ghz band, but i am connected to the 2.4ghz band.
hope it helps somehow.
I had horrible dropouts and speed with my last WiFi router. I forget the name/model but it was a new model (released this year) that had great reviews.
I went back to my old router and all my wifi problems disappeared.
I do get dropouts once in awhile still. But I haven't done a clean ROM install in awhile.
