[Q] How to return to stock AT&T E980AT from Korean F240S ? - LG Optimus G Pro

Hi,
I am not sure if this question has been asked before as I could not find anything similar here. If it has already been asked, then I would request the moderators to please point me there.
I have an AT&T Optimus G Pro (E980). It was running the stock rom (AT&T E980AT V10g). I then flashed the value pack from AT&T (AT&T E980AT V10k) which I downloaded by following the download link provided in thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2438088
The flashing tool I used is the one that required the .tot file and the .dll file. Flashing was a success.
I found the value pack 10k to be laggy compared to the stock 10g. So, I wanted to try out a new rom and flashed a Korean one (SKT/SK TELECOM(KOREA) F240S V10w). I did that using the flash tool and the kdz file given in the same thread as stated above. Flashing was a success.
Now, I want to return again to the AT&T stock (AT&T E980AT V10g). But, when I am using the .tot file and the .dll file, the flashing tool is showing an error something about the device model being different and that I should check the .tot and .dll file. I cannot paste the exact error message right now as I am not at my desk but I can paste it later, if required.
Do I need to have a kdz file of the stock to carry out the flashing ? If yes, then where to find it as the stock firmware thread in this forum lists only the zipped up .tot for the AT&T stock rom.
Else, do I need a .dll for the F240S model and then use it along with the stock E980AT firmware to flash ? If yes, then where can I find the .dll file ?
Thanks for taking the time to read this post and thanks for helping out This can serve as a reference to someone who is looking for the same answer.
Regards.

Okay, I know exactly what your talking about!!, You have TWO Options!
1. (Easist) Change your Build Prop to be an E980 on your current rom and then try it
2. Flash the Telcel or Panama KDZ on your phone using LG Flashtools , and THEN flash the AT&T Version. That`s what I have had to do.
Heres a Guide in case you did not know http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2420219 for flashing the Panama or Telcel rom.

Hi,
Thanks for showing the way. I am currently on the Telcel rom and everything is working perfect, though I dislike the bloatware in this rom, be it as less as it is
I wonder if you can help with the following questions :
1) What is the difference between the Panama and Telcel (Mexico) Roms ? I assume both are based on E980H but Telcel should have more bloatware, as it is from a carrier. How much bloated is the Panama Rom ?
EDIT : Got the exact answer for the above question in thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=45722192&postcount=1
Panama rom is almost the same as Telcel's, but without the extra bloatware. I am definitely going to flash this one
2) I am from India. So I tried out flashing the India Rom (E988). Though the flashing was successful, there was no mobile operator network. Is this because of some baseband/modem mismatch issue ?
3) Would you happen to know which all roms are fully working on AT&T E980 devices that will work in India. I have tried out the Korean F240S and Telcel roms and both do work.

Well as for Living in India Flashing a local rom does not always mean it will be better. As the device you have is meant to be in America meaning the India rom is pretty much gonna have its issue. I only recomend the Telcel or panama roms for the E980

how can I find out which version of e988 I have

This might be a noob question, how can I tell which version of e988 I have? I have a optimus g pro that I got from doha Qatar, trying to flash back to stock with lg flash tool, I need to find out which version of the e988 I have so that I can download the correct files. Another question is that no matter when I was on stock or with custom Rom, I am not able to get the speed pass edge. Does my phone not have the T-Mobile 3g/lte frequencies? Is that why I'm stuck on edge speed with tmobile network? Help please, thanks in advance.
You will need to use e980 in the US to get 3G/4G speeds on TMobile or ATT. E988 does not support the necessary frequency bands for US carriers. If you can exchange it do it.

No wonder I couldn't get any 3g/4g speed..... it's little too late for the exchange, would you tell me how I can tell which version of e988 I.have so that i can download the right files.

here the second post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2403436 gives you the link. Just paste into the browser with your IMEI at the end, and youll download the correct kdz file for your phone.

Determining corect TOT file based on SN?

Hi all
Is there a way to confirm the E988's intended country based on the Serial Number?
I want to be able to match the right TOT file with my phone.
When I bought the phone I was told it was an overseas model, I just don't know from which country
thanks

Try this tool: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2683691
If you have your IMEI you can use the tool above or you can use this link: http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/csmg/b2c/client/auth_model_check2.jsp?esn=. Just put your IMEI after the equals sign. This page will return some info including the most recent .kdz file for your phone. Post all of the info here and I'll tell you what country your phone is from. JUST REMOVE THE IMEI FROM THE INFO FIRST.
The E988 doesn't have an official TOT file because it is carrier unlocked. However, a .kdz file can be used in exactly the same way. I have seen an unofficial TOT file on baidu but haven't tried it so I don't know if it works.
If you want to flash the .kdz use this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=44983841&postcount=1

Yes, this is your firmware. If you follow the guide I linked you should easily be able to flash it.
By the way, it looks like your model doesn't have the kit Kat update yet.

Official LG E975 4.4.2 Kitkat ROM

how many of u need the Official LG E975 4.4.2 ROM?
i have downloaded it somehow...a 980mb kdz file. and it works. its a U.S ROM.
:victory:
one more thing if anyone is interested..
lemme know t best site for uploading the kdz file..
or might hav to do as googledrive or dropbox or box
i'd like to try please.
you can use mega.co.nz or google drive.
If I flash SFR Rom on my GF E977-it will be sim locked ? I ask that because it's the only Rom with LTE band 2600 mhz that I could donload from lg phone firmware. There's some way to flash modem without custom recovery ?
I'm a Brazilian without English Course, sorry and be comprehensive
Yes please. Google drive would probably be the easiest upload. Then go to "share" and share with anyone that has the link. They will give you a link, post that in your OP.

[Q] Region code firmware

Hi all,
I have a G3 D855 16gb; european version. I flashed my Phone with the new v10L firmware but by accident I took the global version instead of the v10l-EUR-xx. But even using Flash Tool 2014 trying to get it back to stock firmware, no matter what I try, any firmware will say it's global now on my Phone. I'm sure I downloaded the EUR-KDZ file. Anyone has any idea how this is possible, or how to fix this?
Thank you in advance!
Not sure it matters. I thought it based version suffix on imei number. I flashed international/european but it says SEA.
I really hope so indeed! I just can't find a way to fix it...

[Q] Want to flash 4.4 on my D855 - what does 20H or 10A mean at the end of kdz?

I intend to flash 4.4 on my d855 which is currently running 5.0.
This site (csmg.lgmobile. com:9002/csmg/b2c/client/auth_model_check2.jsp?esn=35xxxxxxxxxxxx) gives me the following info when I search on my IMEI:
<model>LGD855</model>
<sw_version>D85520H_00</sw_version>
D855 is the model number, right. The 20H part, I'm not so sure of. The rom I assume I am going to flash is named Northern Europe D85510A_00.kdz. The same, but with 10A at the end.
So I'm wondering. Does 20H at the end of the KDZ file simply mean Android 5.0, and 10A means Android 4.4? I need to know so that I don't flash an incorrect rom. If it means what I think it means, it is the right ROM. Right?

Thanks! :good:

D855 is model number.
10/20 means 4.4.2/5.0 respectively.
A-Z letter at the end of firmware version means subversion. 10A is first 4,4,2 firmware, 20A is first LL firmware and so on.

Nowhere. Each OEM names them in his own unique way.
