Xperia ion headphone Jack - Sony Xperia S, Acro S, Ion

Has anyone else noticed how weak of a connection the Jack gives? You can basically give it a flick or slight tap and it will discontinue play. That's one reason why I use Bluetooth so much does anyone else have this problem? Also the Jack gets dirty very easily as it is on top of the phone so when it's in ure pocket particles get in the Jack like lint.
Sure wish there was a solution when snowboarding I have to listen to my iPod as the xperia ion disconnects to much.
Do other phones use a similar Jack that I could put in the phone for better functionality? Anyways just spitballing here lol thanks in advance for any answers

Been having the same problem for about a year now.Don't know what to do or how to solve it.I've been thinking about changing jack itself, but where to find one?As it come to the structure of the jack itself, yeah I think it's the same like in the most of the phones,3.5mm standard...

You can find them on eBay and such places. I've looked before but I figured why replace it if it is going to mess up again

If you are using a custom kernel try switching back to the stock kernel for awhile and see if it goes away. I've noticed some songs with heavy bass lines will distort when using a kernel with the audio level tweaked.
I almost broke a pair of hundred dollar blue tooth headphones because I thought they were busted only to find out it sounded the same on a pair of regular headphone that I knew were good
If u have insurance on ur phone u can take it to Sprint and they will replace it free. Even if ur rooted. Also if u don't have insurance its 35 bucks
Ignorance is bliss but servitude is its partner
Be careful having your phone around any kind of metal machining/grinding work. The magnet in the speaker will attract any metal dust/particles nearby and the holes in the battery cover and mesh over the speaker opening are too big to stop the smaller stuff. I'm on my third back speaker because of this. Luckily they're easy to change and the place I ordered from sells a minimum quantity of 5 per order.

Pretty sure it was a sarcastic joke. If both your phone and your friends phone sound bad, more than likely it isn't a physical problem with the speaker, and if you aren't running the exact same custom kernel, that probably isn't the issue either.
If they speaker never sounded good to you, it is simply that you are just noticing that the 1/2" cell phone speaker sounds like a dog turd, which is sadly to be expected.
The EVO speaker is one of the best phone speakers I have ever heard, most are smaller and even more tinny sounding.
Went to sprint about my speakers and they are giving Me a new one for free......

Arc accessories?

Just wondering if anyone knows of any arc specific accessories besides the Sony ones. I have looked, every phone company I go to says that the arc and other erricson phones are one of their more popular phones yet I can't find anything.

What kind of accessories are you precisely interested in? I know there are Arc specific covers (Katinkas, Krusell and more) as well as Cases (PDair) and I am sure you can find much more. Try some of the online stores.
I want something like a docking station with speakers.

My old Sony silicone earbuds did the same thing, one speaker is even quieter than the other. It took a few years, but still, it sucks, since I much preferred them to the ones I replaced them with. Will be buying new ones again soon..

I sent an email to Sony asking how I could return them for a replacement. I got a reply apologising for my handset problem and to send it off in a jiffy bag.
" From the issues that you have described we would suggest that you that you send your handset to our service location to be examined by an authorised service engineer."

Glueing Xperia play in open position?

Im planing to get a brand new xperia play R800X just to use as a gaming device, im thinking of glueing it in the open position so the flex cable doesn't get damaged when opening closing the device.
i just know the flex is the weak spot, and i don't want it failing, and i will just use it for gaming
Does this sounds too crazy?

You could just be careful with it and not slide it open like you're trying to send it into another galaxy.

No I disassembled my R800x 3 times and putting it back together I still have the same issue. The problem is to get to the flex you have to dissemble the whole xperia play which inclues the disassembly of the gamepad.

Odp: Glueing Xperia play in open position?
Just don't close it. It's not that hard. I've bought the play about 3 months after it came out (my 1st touch phone ) and I have it till this day and I've never had any problems with hardware. It's about 2 years and my play was never dismantled even tho I've got a custom firmware from about 3 days I got my phone. don't be so paranoid. Just take care of it and you'll be fine

More bass on left side

This is a really strange issue that has happened so far with 3 earphones so far. After some time, the left side has a bit of more volume and a huge lot more of bass, this never happened with the original sonyericsson earphone, but my cat broke it.
So, is it possible that my 3.5mm jack is damaging one of the sides of every earphone I connect? This is personally annoying for me beacuse I want a centered bass as always.
I use poweramp, latest version... I think it's a problem with my phone because when I buy the earphones and use them with the PC, it's okay, then I use and use a lot them on my phone until the problem occurs, then I try them again on the PC and yes, they are damaged.
Help? I won't keep spending money on earphones!
It's driving me crazy.. today I will go to the mall and take the decision of buying a new pair of earphones or not to... Anyone?
Since you use poweramp, have you tried to balance it over to the right side?

It's very difficult to know what exactly causing this hardware issue.

Well, weeks have passed and no problems at all with my new Maxwell headphones, so the phone wasn't faulty, thanks all.
