[Q] Hide Navigation Bar and keep Notification panel - Huawei Ascend P6, Mate

Hello.
I purchased my P6 as soon as it was available. It came with B103 Chinese firmware (language set to English). I updated it to B107 International Version.
This caused the Notification panel to disappear. Note that with B103 I had ability to hide (v) the navigation bar (increasing view-able screen area) AND utilize the Notification panel.
I was able to regain the notification panel by creating a set of folders in /cust in the same structure that they were written in custom.bin
In my case custom.bin contained "unicom/cn" so I created /cust/unicom/cn. Then a Factory Reset, but it removed the navigation bar's ability to hide, (no ' v ' button).
I've since tried B12 and B14 (leak) to no avail. Any advice anyone has on getting both of these features working simultaneously would be great.

Durp
I found the solution in my build.prop file... Some other configuration must have turned set hw_shownavisettings to true overwriting build.prop....

Answer In This thread:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2453926

I tired your solutions. It doesn't work for me
Where is cust exactly?
In /storage/emulated/0/cust/unicom/cn ?
And cn is just a folder or a file?

X2 Tilewave Daylight Savings Fix

Hi.
I made a quick and crude patch to the TilewavePanel.dll file to cruedly but effectively correct the Daylight savings problem that I and lots of others were having.
----------
To use this...
1. Download THIS - TilewavePanel.dll which is 920KB in size... or use the 355KB ZIP file attached to this post.
2. Copy the new TilewavePanel.dll file to My Device\Program Files\Panels\TilewavePanel. Replacing the original.
-----> You may need to rename the old file first as it is "in use" but it still lets you rename it.
-----> If you are using the basic File Explorer built in to Windows Mobile then you may need to go to the Menu and check Show all Files before the dll files become visible.
3. Go to the Registry using Resco or PHM... Navigate to, HKLM\Software\SonyEricsson\TilewavePanel\City\0, edit the DaylightSaving key and change it to 0.
3. Do a soft reset.
-----> If the time is still 1 hour fast, then go back to the registry and check that the DaylightSaving key is still set to 0.
----------
What this does is... Whenever the Tilewave Panel weather gets updated, instead of overwriting the DaylightSaving key in the registry it writes to a different key DaylighSavinX. But the Daylight Savings time is still read from the original key. So you can change it to 0 without it being overwritten.
Hope this is useful!
Wow, another potential person in XDA
thanks!!
after installing patched DLL panel manager hangs...
panel is not workin after copy .dll file bro
what happen??
Excellent, thanks allot for your updated dll file. It solved my problem with the wrong time and can now have the weather updated automatically
It freezes after a reset?
The patch is tested will all jerpelea's first 5 test ROM.
------------
EDIT: Just tested as working on Jerpelea's 6th test ROM too.

working very well
i like the way you thinking, making the weather update false string and system still reading the original key XD
thanks!!
Now it works with the same time as on wm 6.5 thanks alot!!!
Works just fine. Cheers mate.
Very good work, mate.
Just like everything in coding, very simple fix. If I knew how to amend .dll files, I would have tried to make it not write to a key at all, and completely remove that line of code.
Thanks for this, makes the panel so much better!
Does not work for me :-(
Yeeeeeeeeees!!!! It works!!! Thank youuuuu!!!

Agreed. I can't get this fix to work either. It works until automatic update and reverts back to being one hour ahead.

Sounds like you are not actually replacing the original dll file correctly. As the patch works just fine.
Go to My Device\Program Files\Panels\TilewavePanel.
Make sure Show all Files is checked on the menu. Then rename the TilewavePanel file that is 918K in size to "Old" or "Backup" or something like that.
Then Copy the patched TilewavePanel file from your Storage Card or using ActiveSync to My Device\Program Files\Panels\TilewavePanel.
Soft-Reset the device.
Go to the Registry and Set DaylightSaving to 0.
-------
You can confirm if the patch is installed by... First updating the weather on the Tilewave. Then, going to HKLM\Software\SonyEricsson\TilewavePanel\City\0 in the registry. There should be a new DWord value called "DaylightSavinX". If that key isn't there, it is not installed.

I'm sorry but my ignorance is frustrating me.
First download link is bad. Zip file can't be downloaded to device with IE because it opens straight to Total Commander and won't extract.
Opera 10 Beta keeps hanging up and I can't get it that way either.
Downloaded to PC, extracted dll and emailed it to my account.
Accessed with device and followed instructions. Still not working for me.
Extracted dll is 918.7kb just as original.
Can you possibly enlighten me?
After Hardrest my device it works - only the Mail-Button has no functionality right now.
very very good. thanks, now the panel is useful
Thank you. I love you, mon.
Simply changing the daylight saving time from 1 to 0 or vise versa wortked for me - did not need to change dll.

that should not be ... is that the international version of B107?
try to make factory default, think that should work or try to reflash the B107 ...
good luck
Have disappeared because they match the folder path CUST.
First you must be ROOT
Second with Root Explorer app, go to the folder "data" and see the contents of custom.bin
Depending on the file custom.bin say, is as it should rename folders CUST.
For example if it says "Orange/dm", that means that inside the folder "CUST" the folder must exist "Orange" and within it another folder "dm".
If not there you can rename the folder "Channel" to "Orange" and within it you choose to rename the folder to "dm" much of the country that depends on where you live, could be renamed folder "namerica" to "dm" or "neeurope" to "dm"
Finally do a factory reset
Best Regards

Try installing B111 international rom and revert.
"custom.bin" method does not work. For some reason I have "unicom/cn" inside custom.bin. Tried to change custom to Orange/Dm does not work. Tried to rename Orange directory to "unicom" and dm Directory to cn does not work.
Anyway thanks

Of course, if it works, I've tried several times and if it works.
Maybe I did not understand the procedure.
I'll try to explain it better:
1. You must be ROOT
2. Having installed the app Root Explorer
3. Log in to Root Explorer and find the file custom.bin
4. You must remember the contents of this file.
5. Go to the root folder, using the Root Explorer
6. Go to the folder Cust
7. Rename the folders according to the content of step 3.
8. Perform Factory Reset
At no time should change the file contents custom.bin.
Best Regards
succed the process, but bring more painful problem.

At first, i upgraded from System Update, Chinese version to B107. After a week i did a Factory Reset. It did not change anything.
Right now i am already on B111. I will do a Factory Reset again, but i don't understand the cause for not working on B107 with factory Reset...
Edit: Factory Reset done (from settings, not recovery), Notification Panel still unavailable...

1. Root your phone: http://androidteen.com/easy-one-click-root-huawei-ascend-p6-android-4-2-2/
2. Use for example Total Commander and go to Android Root directory, folder "Data"
3. Locate "custom.bin" file
4. Open it and remember the content. Mine says "unicom/cn"
5. Go one folder up and go to "Cust" folder
6. Locate "channel" folder and rename it to "unicom" (first part of custom.bin content)
7. Inside it locate folder with the name of your place of living (I chose "weurope", if you live in Nort america, choose "namerica" etc.)
8. Rename it to "cn" (second part of custom.bin content). Because there already was folder named "cn", I deleted it first
9. Perform factory reset
Now notification panel works fine.

[F31xx][F32xx][APP] MTK EngineerMode

Hi,
As you probably know we can't acces to the hidden menu "EngineerMode" to increase the speaker volume... until now
I succefully modified the app to work on rooted XA :good:
I will not explain how to use this dangerous menu, you can find many guides for that.
How to install:
- Download the attached zip, copy the 3 folders to "/system/app" and reboot.
- On the phone dialer enter *#*#3646633#*#*, the menu will appear.
- Don't forget to make backups of your partitions before playing with this !
Some features are greyed because of missing apps, I don't know if it's usefull to try to add them ?

Hi,

I don't remember if it works on later M firmware but I'm sure that will not works on Nougat.

Thanks for the answer despite the old thread.
Is there no way to access it in the Nougat firmware? What a bullsh*t Sony did with that then.
To downgrade the phone I would need to get the MM Firmware from anywhere. Do you have any link for it? Would reformatting and flashing it through TWRP be enough to get it to boot?

There is probably a way to acces it with Nougat but you have to find updated MTK apps.
To downgrade you have to download the firmware with Xperifirm inclued in Flashtool. Be careful with Flashtool, read/watch guides on how to flash firmware to avoid hard brick.

Do the changes not save after a reboot or don't save at all? What I have done sometimes with files that don't stay changed, is changing the file permissions so they are "read only" to the system. If this makes any sense.
