Are you sure you entered the boot loader key correctly, i. e. capital letters and no spaces?
The key has to be entered exactly like this:
Code:
fastboot.exe -i 0x0fce oem unlock 0x[I](your correct key)[/I]
Good luck!

Chipy

Very strange!
Could have some reasons:
1. Are you sure, you entered the correct 14 digits of your IMEI, when you asked for your unlock key on Sony?
Normally, the IMEI has 15 digist, but you have to leave the last one away.
Did you do so?!
2. The command fastboot oem unlock KEY has to be entered following the right folder structure.
So try the following: Open your Explorer. Go to the folder of your "minimal adb" installation.
Let's suppose you installed in on the partition E: into the folder Minimal ADB and Fastboot.
By the way: You didn't mentioned which system you're running. And it's harder then to give correct instructions.
On Vista, right click on that folder and choose "Open Command Prompt Here";
on other Windows versions it should be similar to this.
Now, the commander opens and should say something like: E:\Minimal ADB and Fastboot>.
And then write adb devices. Wait for the output.
If you get your device listed there, you did it right.
If not, you made something wrong.
If this shouldn't work again, please, be so kind to give us a detailed overview of all the steps you exactly did.
Good luck!

Try to get another unlock key from sony.
When I unlocked my bootloader I didn't use the unlock key for a week and when I finaly had time to do it I received the same error, so I went back to sony website and requested a new unlock key. It worked like a charm.

It would be also the next / last step, I would suggest to her - after all the other advices weren't successful.

Hi there,
I must try here, and ask.... If you could help me with unlocking my bootloader.
I tried various "no boot needed" rom-s and nothing worked ! Whoever I try to ask, nobody is saying anything useful.
My t-mobile (phone is locked, only for theirs sim cards) is saying that's locked by sony, local service guy is saying something different and I don't know which side could I believe !
I would like to change that "bootloader unlock allowed:no" to yes
and after that- install ultimate hd rom. So I would ,kindly, like you to point me (what) and how should I unlock my boot loader. (I believe, there are ways and it could be done)
Big thanks and best wishes !
Željko :good:

Hi Željko!
As far as I know, the information in your device Bootloader Unlock Allowed has to be positive, i. e., saying Yes!
Otherwise you can't unlock your bootloader for free and have to choose a paid unlock.
Sorry for not having better news for you! =/

that's positive
positive that it can be unlocked.. either way, it's going to be cheaper than new mobile phone
The best I was hoping is some homemade method, but... this is ok
another question !
When I contacted that local servicer, he said that some bootloaders can and some can't be unlocked (on lt18i), would you know why or is that true ?!
and, btw, I asked for price... he said, if unlocking is successful he's going to charge me around 20usd (just for reference)
Thanks

[RESOLVED] fastboot not detecting rooted phone

Hello everyone,
I've got an Xperia Arc LT15i running android 4.0.4 The bootloader is unlocked, phone has been rooted and I'm able to install CWM and enter the recovery mode.
The problem is with the fastboot tool in windows. I poweroff the phone, hold menu and connect it. I run fastboot in command prompt and get this output,
C:\fastboot>fastboot.exe -i 0x0fce getvar version
version: 0.3
finished. total time: 0.001s
C:\fastboot>
Click to collapse
Which makes me believe that it's been configured correctly. The problem is the next step when I'm trying to flash a new kernel. It asks for a "rooted device"
C:\fastboot>fastboot flash boot KTG_anzu_v1.52.elf
sending 'boot' (6024 KB)...
FAILED (remote: The Device must be rooted first)
finished. total time: 0.003s
C:\fastboot>
Click to collapse
The phone IS rooted. It's how I was able to install the CWM tool and I can see the superuser app as well. Any ideas on what I should do?
For reference, I'm able to flash *.ftf files using Flashtool (ver 0.9.8.0) just fine.

Is your root up to date??
Is USB DEBUG enabled??
Is your BOOTLOADER unlocked??
Is MTP your usb setting??
I can use fastboot without ROOT.
My usb debug is on, unlocked bootloader and mtp usb mode, no issue. Im using fastboot to root my device
And the code for flashing kernel is:
Fastboot flash boot "yourfilename".img
Without the " "
Sent from my LT15i using xda premium

I am not clear what you mean when you ask if my root is up-to-date. The phone build number is 4.1.B.0.431
USB debugging is enabled.
BOOTLOADER is unlocked. I went to the SE site, got the key and pushed it into the phone.
My USB setting is MSC. I'll change it over to MTP and report back.
The code for kernel flashing I got from the kernel's thread here,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1647665
-chronodekar
I went back and repeated the different steps. Turns out that the bootloader wasn't properly unlocked. Here's what happened,
From the phone, I got my IMEI number. I fed that into the Sony site and got an error message. They wanted a 14 digit number. The phone gave me 15 digits. I dropped the first "0" and put that in the site. They returned a code, I used it and assumed that the phone got unlocked. In hind-sight, I should have noticed some kind of error message when it failed, but missed it.
The second time I tried I dropped the last digit when I fed the IMEI number to Sony on their website. This time the unlocking worked and I flashed the kernel I wanted to try out.
Thanks for the assistance folks!

Purchased an AT&T M* unlocked with S-ON and want to restore to factory / stock

I have read many different methods on how to restore a phone back to original OEM specifications but seem unable to complete the process.
I downloaded the Nandroid for my CID, copied the files to the SDCARD but the installation failed with TWRP. Not sure if someone has a good tutorial on how to get the device back to factory specs. Doesn't HTC have an application that can restore a phone? When I worked at Motorola years ago we had a home grown utility that could restore a device entirely including firmware, software, boot images and such.
I am new to HTC devices and appreciate assistance with this. Thank you.
Run the official ATT ruu bro. Give me a sec and I'll edit this post with the link. Quick question, can you tell me if the phone is still unlocked or relocked?

Ok hopefully you know how to execute fastboot commands. You'll need to simply boot into boot loader, fire up command prompt and enter this command.
fastboot oem lock
Once locked you need to download this and run it as any other program on your computer.

Now mind you I'm not sure if you planning on hacking it or not, but if you do that ruu the only way to s-off is to pay $25 for the sunshine app.

Honestly., the phone is going to be a gift and the last thing I wanted was them to panic when they booted it and saw the red HTC disclaimer at the bottom of the screen, or if they have issues with the device and AT&T gives them grief that the ROM is not factory.
It seems to be currently running Android Revolution HD 11.2 and the ROM doesn't really have any issues that I have seen, but in the end its not going to be my device to support to I want to keep it simple for the user who is technologically challenged (ex iPhone user)
That's perfect then. Just run that ruu and it'll be like a fresh device.

Hello,
I'm planning to buy this device, specifically the XT1684 or XT1685 variant. Are these specfic variants supported and are there any culprits I should be aware of? For example, is there a possibility of me being locked out like with LG's G/V series devices? Or is the bootloader unlock procedure completely smooth?
thanks for the guide. I have just unlocked it.

Fastboot is not working on my G5 Plus

Moto G5 (Cedric) bootloader won't unlock. Adb says unlocked

Hi. I have unlocked several devices before and only this phone is getting on my nerves. I have followed every steps exatcly as on forums to unlock my bootloader. On adb it says "Done. Phone will restart now". After this the phone reboots back to fastboot and "Oem locked" status is still there (Phone gets wiped after this process). I have tried to install twrp but it just wont due to locked bootloader. In adb it says "Preflash validation failed" and on device bootloader logs it says "Recovery size misatch". What can I do to force unlock its bootloader?
Fyi: I have tried updating android versions (Noughat to Oreo) and several Twrp versions yet it wouldn't work

Software channel is "reteu" on mine. I can't screencast right now but I can assure you that there's no error message anywhere while unlocking. On cmd it says Done. On phone it just restarts back to bootloader. No new logs are there. And there should be an error message after unlocking right? Well that doesn't appear as well.

Now do the the following
Copy and paste this line exactly - do not type it to avoid typos eg putting 0 instead of O
Code:
fastboot oem unlock GOSZ2EGP7B7G3Z5NQLUN

As long as it's entered correctly it should unlock
Apart from trying a different USB cable, not using any USB hubs or trying it on a different pc there's nothing else I can suggest as that is the unlock code from Motorola for the device unlock data
You could try flashing different firmware and then trying to unlock it

Power off your phone completely.
Hold Volume Down and Power key together and release the buttons once you see the Android One logo on your phone screen.
Now your phone will be in fastboot mode.
Install ADB and Fastboot drivers on your computer and open CMD and connect your phone in fastboot mode.
Type command fastboot erase userdata and the phone shall reset.
if the above command does not works, type put phone in fastboot mode again and type command in CMD as follows
fastboot reboot-recovery or fastboot reboot recovery.
Please let me know if this helps.

I do understand your concern. I would first recommend you to unlock bootloader and then use magisk to patch the boot.img.
I cannot do bootloader unlocks for Qualcomm phones.

Is that an open offer? Cuz I've got a brick that used to be a Nokia G300, and a computer I don't much value, so I'll take the chance.
