It belongs in the questions section.
Point and counterpoint...
It's a question, yes, but a question about development, so theoretically, it could go in either subforum. Fairly sure he posted it here because A)there's more dev's that could help with this question here in the development subforum and B)I know he's got a hell of a good reputation here in the dev forums so it'll probably be easier to get the help he needs and deserves. *sigh* I guess I'm just pointing out once again that the site we all know and love DOES go by a three letter moniker, but those three letters are XDA not PMS... lol

Okay,
I know this is an old thread, actually a very old thread, but I didn't want to open another thread to ask, request, demand the same thing..
From the poll results I can tell that there was not a lot of demand for this dedicated BlackBerry forum..
I hope that only those who own a BlackBerry devices voted on this not just those Android and WP users who don't want another platform forum..
I am requesting a Dedicated Blackberry forum because BBOS and BB10 are very different platforms from one another.. BB10 will bring another opportunity to all our great developers here on XDA to explore and conquer.
I know there is CrackBerry but they don't have enough developer fanatics there..
Would really appreciate if the Admins and MODS gave it a thought..
thanks,

Please post such requests in the New Device Forum Requests thread. That way, the admins will be able to able to see your request and there's more chance that a forum will be added for it.
I will add though that, generally, new device forums are only added if there's going to be a lot of development for said device. So, unless that can be proven to be the case, I don't think there's too much chance of a forum being added for it.

[Q] Why Sharing Paid Apps That I bought Is Not Allowed

I think I have the right to share paid apps that I purchased because they became my possession
What do you think ?
Sharing paid apps is stealing the lost revenue that the "apps" developers deserve. Thus... it is considered stealing. And posting anything that is a paid app on XDA is against forum rules and will get you either A) An infraction on your account for a length of time or B) Get you banned from XDA...
How could you not think of it as stealing? Wouldn't you be upset and yell thief if you made a paid app only to find people giving out your app for free?
Think of it this way:
One person pays for an app once for $1
That one person hosts it on another site for free
10,000 people download it for free from that other site
How much money has the developer made now do you think?

Wrong. When you pay for software, you dont own it. You only own a license to use it. The original creator still owns the app.
Google has a per-person license policy, meaning you can use the same Play Store account on all your devices. But you cant share apps to other users because they have not paid the license.
Stupid thread. Redistribution of commercial software is a license infringement and known as "piracy".

Three things are here. 1. Of course its stealing, what kind of question is that. 2. Why is this thread even still open. 3. Can a MOD close this please. I dontbsee how having those thread here can be of any help to the XDA rules

is this thread for real? look up a thing called piracy
Cosmic Dan outlined the reason why (License, not actually owning the App, as well as it destroys a Developers income from something they created)
But what everybody else missed (other than reporting this post, which would have closed it a lot sooner ) are the XDA Rules:
6. Do not post warez.
If a piece of software requires you to pay to use it, then pay for it. We do not accept warez nor do we permit any member to promote or describe ways in which Warez, cracks, serial codes or other means of avoiding payment, can be obtained. This is a site of developers, i.e. the sort of people who create such software. When you cheat a software developer, you cheat us as a community

Bounty

Ok guys, Im sure everyone in the ROM comunity knows who evil1art is. From the S3 wicked series to S4 and now the N3. To his awesome themes. His computer is currently not in any good shape for development. that means no Wicked updates or cool themes to run on our devices.
This just simply wont do. He has and always works very hard to make sure we have amazing updates for our devices. So, I am asking all of you to come together. and help me make this bounty happen.
I ask that we all donate to him so he can buy a new pc and continue his work.
I will personally donate $5 towards this to get us started.
The total needed to get hom a pc he is able to develop on is:$800!
Every little bit helps
So here's how it works: post your amount and confirmation number in the thread and I'll add it to the op until we reach our goal.
Anything helps people!

Thanks for your hard work.
Bounties are not encouraged on XDA, however some have resulted in needed breakthroughs.
A legitimate bounty should be started by someone other than the recipient, preferably an established member of the community. The recipient should be aware of and endorse the bounty and agree to its purpose. A set goal should be announced and totals kept current. No money should be collected up front but pledged to be sent to the recipient's donation link once goal is reached.
Please stay within these guidelines.
This thread is not within these guidelines. If you want to donate to the developer, donate.
Otherwise bounties are strictly pledges. With that said this thread is closed.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation
To further clarify for those that cannot see the big picture:
As I stated to the OP if you want to donate to the developer to get a better computer then donate. We as a site cannot allow thousands of threads for every loyal member to post a bounty for their favorite dev to get better equipment. This site is not about money or support. It is a development site. I am sorry if you disagree. Why must there be threads for this when you can urge people to donate in his ROM threads? There have been bounties fro true development break throughs on this site: Bounties for unlocking bootloaders, for getting an established developer a device to unlock a bootloader....these are legitimate bounties for a development site. Again, apologies if you do not agree...but that is not what this site is for. Perhaps a G+ post would be a better place for that. No one wants to log in to check news on their device to see 30 bounty threads to get their favorite dev a phone, computer, medicine for their cat...what have you. That is why there are very few bounties tolerated.

Implementing a Crowdfunding feature

Devoloping mods for Android is quite time consuming.
I just had the idea that xda could implement or cooperate with crowdfunding platforms (e.g. patreon) to give devlopers the option and actively support them to make their hobby into a bit more like that so they could spend more time on their projects and there creating content of higher quality.
I'm thinking of something like this:
A Developer creates a project thread with information on what he wants to develop and stes a specific amount of money which he would need to develop just the mod for a specific amount of time
Users liking the project could spend some money to the dev
If the dev reaches the goal he has the possibility to work only on this project /
If he doesn't reach the goal users could get their money back or could still spend it to the dev and the dev can still work this project but with less time dedicated for it.
Maybe this idea doesn't go along with the principles of xda but IMO it wouldn't change the community spirit and it's worth thought.
Just no. Talk of money in exchange for promises of work is not allowed on xda. See rule 8 here, https://forum.xda-developers.com/announcement.php?a=81
Any type of fundraising is not allowed on xda actually.
Promoting a paid app or theme is one thing on xda, but even then, a free version must be available to xda members too. And selling Roms or kernels is a hard no.
So no Sir, your idea won't be happening on xda. Sorry.
And thread closed. :good:
