[Pics] Review MiniSuit Keyboard PU Leather Case - Nexus 7 (2013) Accessories

http://www.amazon.com/MiniSuit-Keyb...0069870&sr=8-1&keywords=nexus+7+2013+keyboard
I received this case along with my flo on Fri. 9-20-13. I am using it in college to take notes during class because the prof's provide their PowerPoint presentations ahead of time. Thought I would add my .02 worth of review.
Unboxing, the product feels great in hand. Even though its PU, it feels and smells like actual leather. Stitching seems tough and will hold up. The keyboard (the most important part of course) is surprisingly sturdy. I was expecting it to be flimsy when not connected to the case by the magnets. It can be detached so that you have just a case for your flo. The keys function just like my Inspiron laptop keyboard. Small lag because its bluetooth, thats to be expected. Yes, the keyboard is smaller than normal. How else would they get it to fit in a case as wide as the flo? (duh) The keys all function as they should. There are even media keys; play, next, back, volume. There is a dedicated search key which comes in handy! If you RDP to a home or work computer, there are crtl alt delete keys. It was very very easy to pair. Yes it does add some bulk, so if you're into the tpu cases, this isn't for you. You do have access to all the ports. If you are in an app and get an email notification and are too lazy to pull down the menu bar (yes thats me!) you can use fn and 2 to go right to email. Esc takes you out of apps. Tab and arrow keys move around the home screen. Fn 1 takes you to the home screen. The case does put the flo to sleep when the cover is closed.

I also purchased a matte screen protector in order to cut down on overhead light glare while in class. I am glad that I did! Also, while reading a book, the screen looks like a kindle paperwhite.

Another reasons for me to be thankful for forum.xda and minisuit!
After reading this review I headed over to amazon and bought this one. It was delivered to me the other day and this is what I am currently using for my device. Thank you forum.xda for sharing this review. It helped me a lot. I highly recommend this Leather Case! Thanks amazon and minisuit.

Yay! I ordered this one too just got it last week. I like the cute keyboard totally! my fingers fits perfectly, so girls with N& get this one too if you want to use a keyboard. It's so lovely but the only color available is black, I hope they have pastel colors too. hihihi. And the best is the free screen protector. Thank you so much MiniSuit! :good: :highfive: :victory:

This is really a good buy!
I saved $40 when I purchased this one. What I like about MiniSuit Keyboard Stand Case for Google Nexus' is that, it is sleek, easy to use and adjustable. I am also happy as this keyboard is compatible with Google Nexus 7" FHD 2nd Generation 2013 Model...
I wish there is a pink color for this though.

Thanks
I have actually been looking for this type of keyboard. The positive reviews I have read from this post made me decide to buy one. Thank you and more power to forum xda.

[Review] "Carbon Fiber" Snap-On Hard Case

To start, this is the case I am reviewing: CARBON FIBER Snap-On Hard Case AT&T Samsung Captivate

Look (5/10): I was pretty upset when the case ended up being a much lighter color than it appeared to be in the eBay picture. I was hoping for a dark grey/black look, but it ended up being a bright silver.
Feel (7/10): I generally like the feel of the case. It has a soft rubberized texture, but it's not too grippy. Still slides in and out of pockets nicely. The part I didn't like is the edges where the two parts of the case come together are a bit sharp. Now, it's nothing serious, I'd just like a smoother one piece feel. Does not restrict access to any of the buttons or virtual keyboard. The phone obviously has a thicker feel to it, but it's not terrible. Just feels like a phone in a case. Actually feels a little better to me since I have larger hands.
Fit (7/10): I was able to get all sides of the case to snap securely into place. Have to use a penny to get it to pop apart. Lines up pretty good, no gaps.
Price (10/10): At $8 shipped, I can't complain.
Overall (7/10): For the price I paid it's a decent quality case. There is an all black rubberized variant that I would choose over this one since I wasn't too pleased with the color.
Link to full image gallery. Sorry about the image quality. I don't have very good lighting in my room and I didn't want to drown out the pictures with flash.
Thanks for the review, I bought 2 black cases like this from ebay, have yet to receive the second one but the first one has one side that won't snap on. The seller agreed to take it back and replace it.
Thanks for the review. I think I'm going to be returning my $23 Samsung OEM one for the $8 black one.
Be warned, they are kinda tricky to get off. Make sure to take it easy so you don't damage your phone. I almost did haha.
One more word of warning when using these types of cases, the notification bar can be hard to access if you have big fingers. I sometimes have trouble using my thumb to adjust the brightness or pull the notification bar down and have to use the tip of my pointer finger. Just thought I'd throw it out there. Doesn't stop me from being happy with the case though.

I had that problem with the hard buttons (the bottom four buttons) on the OEM case though. Plus when I took this phone out it's so sexy THIN that I don't know if I want to stick it back in a case...

Yeah, I'm struggling with the same thing. I've got the Body Glove case on order. Hopefully that will satisfy my needs for sexiness and security.

[REVIEW] GELASkins Vinyl Style And Protection

Well, Since my time around XDA I have always stated I DO NOT like cases. Even though I know I should use them for protection, I hate what they do to the phone. I like my phone NAKED, to me it is like making a sexy girl wear a armor suit.... While she is very protected, she is not half a fun to handle and not nearly as nice to look at. So.... I can across a possible solution to protect my phone from scratches and for it you have a 'custom" look. I thought I would post up for anybody who has been kicking around the idea of trying them out.
Ordering and Shipping::: I went to http://www.gelaskins.com/store/skins/phones/Motorola_Droid_X on Saturday and chose the H.R Giger (Always been a fan) after browsing through the tons of selections. Placed my order, and received a confirmation immediately stating that they will "produce" my skin and it will be shipped within 2-4 "business" days. I also received a link to download the wallpaper that goes with the skin.
Monday morning I received a UPS tracking confirmation confirming my order has shipped and 2 days later it was at my door. So, as for the production, and promptness I would have to give them a 10 easy.
Packaging/Quality::: Package was a simple plastic sleeve with the vinyl sheet containing the skins. One thing i did notice is that there were NO instructions or "tips" for installation. While I guess installation is self explanatory, some tips would have been nice ie: do stretch the skin. LOL
The quality of the skins are very nice, they seem to have a nice thickness to them, the color looks great, and while the adhesive holds tight... It is very forgiving while installing. Don't be afraid to get it right.
Installation::: This will be short.... I was hesitate at first but I can say, "it was not bad at all". I wiped my phone down with Pledge MultiSurface wipes (What I always use to clean it with" and taking my time I stuck them on. DONE. It was quite painless.
Overall::: Well, it is only my second day running them but so far I am pleased. I am not worried about putting down my phone, sliding around, or because of the tackyness not slipping out of my hand while banging out some emails and texts.
Hey, for the price of $14.95 and the look of the phone being able to change... IMO, you can't beat it!!.
Pics below.

how are the edges?? are they curling up at all?? im really considering getting this, just for the sheer awesomeness..
I have one of the gelaskins on my Droid X. The edges are fine and they never curl up. The skins are top notch and high quality. The only problem I have had was with the Droid X moto car dock. With the skin its a tighter fit and there was one corner, on the top left of the phone, that would sometimes catch and curl the skin back slightly when inserting the phone into the dock, but other than that the skin is very durable and wont curl up on you in the long run.

I haven't had any peeling yet. As you can see in the pics I have the Moto Extended Battery, and with my media dock and my car dock everything is holding on like it should.

[Q] (Q) Best xoom case for typing on screen?

I have done hours of research on cases for the xoom to try to find the one that best fits my needs.
The needs are simple,
1. It has to be well protected in my backpack so the device wont get damaged and the screen wont break
2. Have the perfect angle for typing on the screen so writing up papers and emails on the spot are a breeze
I am not interested in buying the wireless keyboard unless typing on the screen isn't easy and efficient.
The only thing I could find that looks very good is the rooCASE but I am unsure if it will have a great angle for typing on the screen.
I have tried to search the fourms and could not find anything on the subject.
Your input would be greatly appreciated!
definitely do not get the official folio case sucks returned it
The best typing angles are on standard cases such as the zoogue which is a wonderful multipurpose case and is just outstanding please watch the battle video. Now the case it went up against or cases of that design have great typing angles and are easy to open and close. But overall the zoogue is the clear winner

OtterBox Utility Series Latch
How cool is this! Now if they would get a move on the defender case I'll be happy.
Whether you use your tablet for data collection in the field, for maps while flying, for entertaining kids in the car or are looking for other ways to keep your device on hand while you work, the OtterBox Utility Series Latch is the only accessory you need. This accessory can be used with or without a case, and works with the Apple iPad, Apple iPad 2 and Motorola XOOM.

I think the otterbox is pretty good for this. Also if your loafing around at home you can leave off the screen cover\stand side of it. Better than working around the front flap of a folio case IMO

still cant find a decent hardcover for the screen
I pre-ordered the Otterbox case from CellularAccessory.com and used the code take5 to get free standard US Mail shipping. The best deal I could find for the Xoom Otterbox. Won't know until it is in my hands.
The Otterbox case looks like a beast that might not be perfect for everyday, but I have a trip coming up that for which I think the Otterbox will be the best match.

New Momax iCase Pro hybrid case

It's the closest thing to a CaseMate tough I've seen on sale for Galaxy Note
At Mobile Fun for £16.95 + £3 del.
Here's the sales pitch:
Combining a black shock-absorbing rubber edge with a transparent black plastic back, the Momax iCase Pro provides unrivalled protection for your Samsung Galaxy Note.
Yet again I'm a Noobe could someone be so kind as to post a link & photos from mobile fun.
There's no holes for a lanyard which is a deal breaker for me but does look like a nice quality case, I wonder if the holes near speaker and the hole for the S-Pen could support a lanyard?
Simply enter the following via Google to find case: momax-icase-pro-for-samsung-galaxy-note-black

Seems fine indeed...
Thanks Beretta93
I should also add that the case is Pre-order only at this time.
I'd appreciate any feedback on the above case and any alternatives for those seeking a hybrid case at the moment.
Im not impressed by the momax icase pro, it doesnt offer double protection like the case mate tough case does. All it has is a hard plastic (pvc) back glued (sometimes badly) to the tpu frame/bumper. It's an okay case though, just not as good as the nillkin tpu case at twice the price...
Hope this helps your decision making.
I've had no experience with momax icase pro before, your reply resolves much indecision thank you
Now I'm left with the choice as to whether to wait for Case Mate tough release date or go nillkin tpu case.
Looks very similar to the bubble case but with a higher price tag.
hi. i'm using the nillkin soft case now, but changing it to some other brand as the cutout hole for the microusb port is just not big enough. the original charging cable cannot be plugged all the way in thus not charging the phone.
I'm sorry to hear that. thanks for the heads up.
I think I'll stay away from nillkin soft case in that case, pun not intended.
Thought I would share my thoughts to help people as I fell into buying it as it was cheapish.
I am having lots of problems with the power button, the case seems to be constantly resting on the power button on the phone causing it to reboot. Have tried putting the phone in multiple times to ensure that it is on properly but always having problems.
The buttons are super hard to press too.
My advice is to avoid this case at all costs.

[Review] Noreve Perpétuelle Leather Case (Noir)

Hi XDA,
Time for another case review, again courtesy of the lovely people over at Noreve. In total this will be my 9th Noreve case review, so I am pretty familiar with their quality and style by now.
Noreve are known for their high quality leather cases, and what's even better is that they come with a ton of customization options a lot of other companies simply do not offer, especially with genuine leather.
As always, the case comes in a very nice box :
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
And once you open the box, you are greeted with a very handsome, velvety cloth pouch, to protect the case. Inside that of course is the case itself. I have always loved this touch and attention to detail from Noreve.
Once out of the pouch, you are greeted with that unmistakable smell of premium, genuine leather. This is what the case looks like :
And here is a shot just below installation, side by side with the Nexus 5 :
Installation is very simple, it just snaps into place very easily. However it's also very secure, I've never had one of these cases where the grip failed the phone and accidentally came off. In fact, a friend of mine dropped his Galaxy S3 while he was riding on his motorcycle and the case was still gripping the phone tightly. The case got a few scruffs, but the phone was unharmed.
Here is the case in it's open state, where you can see the Noreve branding on the inside. The case also has a magnetic closure which is very nice and works well :
Here are a few shots of the sides. There are easy access to all the ports and buttons, such as the volume rocker, power button, micro USB connector and headphone jack.
Here is a shot of the back of the case. The camera cutout is perfect.
And finally, a casual picture with the Nexus 5 installed and ready for action.
My one gripe about the case is that the LED indicator cutout is not aligned perfectly with the LED, it's a bit off. Noreve should look out for things like this in the future and make sure it's exact, as I'm sure a lot of people (including myself) care about small details such as this.
Overall, I am very pleased with the case. It provides great protection against just about anything, and it just looks fantastic. For those of you who are sick of cheap plastic cases which feel like, well, cheap plastic, then this may be a good alternative. There is just something about leather that makes me keep coming back to Noreve, and they never disappoint.
The cases are a bit on the expensive side. This one in particular retails for 46 Euros, and prices vary depending on which finish and stitching options you order one with. They offer free worldwide shipping with DHL though, so that's a major plus. I got my case in about 3 days, which is excellent.
All in all, I would say that it's well worth the money as you get what you pay for.
Here is a link to their product page for those of you who are interested. If anyone has any suggestions or feedback, just let me know and I will be happy to direct them to the Noreve team.
Also, Noreve is looking for people to review the cases they will be making for the Galaxy S5 and Sony Z2 once they are released. If any of you would be interested in reviewing those cases, just send me a private message and I will hook you up.
Cheers.
