GT-I9192 User Review - Galaxy S 4 Mini Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I had S II i9100. Recently it stopped working. Now i'm looking for new mobile phone.
I feel phones with 5" displays too big. So I was considering to buy GT-I9192 which is dual sim. But when i check user reviews in the internet, I found some users were having signal drop issues.
I need to know whether that problem still exist and GT-I9192 is a good buy.

If you don't really need the dual sim functionality then consider the LTE variant (GT-I9195).
It seems to be more stable on data connections than the duos variant

Ya, Dual SIM is the main reason i chose it. I won't use LTE at all. CM 10 doesn't support i9192 ?

No. The Dual-sim implementation on such phones are custom-made by their manufacturers and is not a core component with original Android sources.
And there hasn't been anyone who has successfully implemented dual-sim support for the 9192 yet. (there was one user who mentioned that he was working on it and asked for willing testers but never got back since - you can check his development thread)
As such, it will be quite unlikely that the Dual-sim variant will get any CM love anytime soon.

What models does SPRINT support for the S4 Mini

Hello,
I would like to put an S4 mini on Sprint, but now confused as to which model(s) will work on it. Looks like one model from them is SPH-L520, but I read that the GT-I9195 will work also.
I also want to be able to get Marshmallow on it.
From what I am seeing, the only active and stable development is being done for the GT-I9195 .
Will this work on Sprint's CDMA network?
Thanks
Only the L520 will work on Sprint. The l520 has a few roms but they're not 100%. Also I think the gt is a GSM phone It will not work on Sprint. I suggest if your going to use Sprint. Find a different phone. Also if you still want one don't get a prepaid one it may not work on a postpaid.
i can confirm this...Sph-l520 is the ONLY s4 mini version that works with sprint network and it has almost zero development progress available for it..such as roms and tweaks!! as most of the "regular" sized phones do... but with a rooted stock 4.4.2 rom w xposed and a ton of other ad on apps as i do...its a pretty jiffy phone on sprints network...

OnePlus 5T - Dual SIM in Canada?

Hi Everyone
Dual SIM phones are not common in North America - so this may be a silly question!
The 5T website lists a "Dual Nano-SIM slot", which of course means the phone can support 2 SIMs
So i'm pretty excited about that! But, I just want to make sure that this may not be a leftover description from a regional specific version and it should have been removed for the North American version?
I've never had a One Plus phone before so im not sure what they've offered in the past!
Thank you.
yes, and the most important, would be I able to use op5t with freedommobile in Canada ?

Considering the 5T has the same hardware (except display, camera) as the 5 and the 5 works on Freedom Mobile I can't see that changing. Read this OnePlus thread on LTE with OP5 on Freedom especially the instructions in the fourth post.
Currently i use my oneplus 3t with rogers and bell.
they work perfectly simultaneously.
I use data counter to see my usage per sim.
And so far I've found Textra to be one of the better text apps that integrate dual sim functionality well.
and dual sim selector app to manage auto select function for which sim to use when dialing

Flash AT&T firmware on International Unlocked Galaxy S9

Hi,
Im a first time android user and recently bought a Samsung Galaxy S9 (International Version - SM G9600 - DUOS - Snapdragon). I need wifi calling very badly on At&T as my work and home both have bad reception so my purchase has handicapped me from making calls. I see a lot of forums talking about flashing At&T firmware on G960U VERSION. But i havent seen a single one talking about flashing it on g9600. Is it possible? I compared the specs and every hardware looks same except dual sim option. Will I brick my phone if i attempt it? Please suggest im in need to help from the pro community.
Regards.

Note 10 plus 4g vs 5g international version

Hello all, I was planning on getting the Note 10 plus international to use on ATT in the US. The reason being is because the Exynos has support for rooting and custom roms. My question is if i were to purchase the international version, what would be the difference between the 5G and regular 4G? Would the 5G work in the US? Regular bands seems identical on both devices, but would the 5g also work once they are available?
Thank you in advance
I currently have the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 SM-N950F/DS Dual SIM. It been working great for the past couple of years.

This is up to you if you want too future proof the device with getting 5h or not so? I recall 5g will be rolling out slowly in the US.
Thats the idea, but will it actually work? On att in the US if I purchase the international 5g model?
Ps. Is the snapdragon versions still an issue to install custom roms?
I don't know if it's important for you, but the 5g model is single sim only. Dual sim is only available on the 4g version.
Had the dual sim for my note 8 because of availability, but I do not have a need for the dual sim. Just was curious as to the band compatibility of 5g because i cant find anywhere where it states that the european 5g is the same as us 5g

LineageOS for Samsung Galaxy S10e Snapdragon exists?

LineageOS exists a version for Samsung Galaxy S10e with Exynos processor, but not for Snapdragon, is there a way to install it on Snapdragon?

In short, yes.
See here for unofficial Lineage build. Limitation is no IMS (volte) though.
I'm considering buying a G970U (US version) with 8GB RAM and paying for bootloader unlock code, see here.
Perhaps best option is to continue work of OP in that thread and build your own with security updates.

Can you tell me what the holdup is with the no IMS / VoLTE development on Snapdragon models, and when this is expected to change if at all, and what forum I need to follow to track this status? I live in the US and I just acquired a S10e G9700U1 thinking I could put LineageOS 18 or 19 on the phone and have VoLTE work. From what I've read, all of the carriers are pretty much mandating VoLTE as a matter of policy for the sake of 4G system management. Ever since the carriers dumped 3G I've been forced to resort to T-Mobile which has an awful footprint in order to keep running LineageOS with my S9 Dual Sim unit as Red Pocket refused to activate Verizon after AT&T shut down 3G and gave me the boot.

I have no idea what the issues are with this though I've seen it with multiple devices so I assume the code stack for IMS services is custom to each device/ROM and come with their own idiosyncrasies/bugs to work out.
Perhaps shout up @klabit87 or other devs in the relevant forums for pointers.
I was extremely lucky and managed to get a free xperia 1 iv as it was refunded/cancelled but still delivered so I'm no longer pursuing a S10e solution.
EDIT: To add to this, the 'holdup' as you put, mostly comes down to the US snapdragon model not having official bootloader unlock support therefor there are very few devs, if any, working on it. The international version uses exynos chipset, the bootloader of which is unlock supported. This is why all the ROMs are exynos only.

Thanks for the insight. From what I've read this is probably between Samsung and Qualcom where Qualcom charges Samsung for VoLTE/IMS licensing and subsequently Samsung can't or won't share the content, and it sounds like it's a lot of effort to reverse engineer. I have a Samsung S9 Duos which is international and running LOS 17.1, but I can only set it up with T-Mobile, and possibly not using VoLTE as it only says on my mobile carrier menu LTE and not VoLTE. From what I read Verizon and AT&T are forcing everyone to use VoLTE and won't let phones without it on their networks. So this makes Samsung custom ROMs in the US mostly useless.
I was considering trying to get a Exynos for the S10e as I love the formfactor and the 256GB memory, but if I wanted a Duos Exynos I'd have to pay 4 or 5 times what my US S10e version cost me, and then I'd probably be in the same boat as I was before with my S9. I'm shifting to a Pixel 5a or possibly a Moto G7 power as those are both reported to work on VoLTE, at least that's what I've heard.
