So far its very smooth 35K antutu just out of box really fast wifi. gotta do some tweeking like the my magazine thing and love the one hand operation screen shrink...takes the size negative completely away from the phone when ever you want to use it in one hand mode regardless of hand size, simply amazing device.

Love the light weight it will not feel like a lead weight when pocketed and also will allow for a decent cover without getting out of hand weight wise. Set up Watchon and it works fantastic.
After copying over several apps I had 24 gig of free memory (I was constantly swapping apps on note 2 )
Did I say the screen is fantastic?

Got my T-Mobile Note 3 today as well. I guess the overnight shipping was actually worth it this time around! It's lighter than my Note 2 and the screen isn't noticeably bigger but for me, it's now perfect for my manly fingers. Speakers sound a tiny bit crisper than my Note 2 but the same otherwise. I might need to break the speakers in but I doubt I'll notice any improvements. The Note 3 boots up insanely fast but I have yet to notice a difference in speed when browsing the net. I'm hoping to try out the camera tomorrow and basically tearing it apart software wise. I've been hearing great things in regards to battery life so I'll pretty much be on it all day tomorrow. Good times!

Compared to my T-Mobile Note 2, my internet browsing is not as smooth. Seems like my Note 3 lags on certain sites in comparison. Camera takes shots amazingly fast though.

I'm a little late, but I just ordered mine with overnight shipping not too long ago. Absolutely cannot wait until I get it!

Dialer is white.

Don't really know about the bootloader but I do see the pins so mist likely wireless charging is there.

Wireless Charging
Just tried phone on my LG wireless charger that worked on my HTC Droid DNA and I get "NO" charging on the the Note 3.
This is fresh out the box. May need a different back plate for the Note3 to enable wireless charging. But fresh out the box is a no go.

Yea I think the wireless charging back cover is needed

Samsung did a fantastic job!

The note 2 has had a great launch, there are barely if any complaints of hardware issues, the phone is fast, battery life is legendary, and they just added the multi window feature that everyone was craving for 5 days after the launch. Kudos to Samsung for an amazing device! How was your note 2 release experience?

The Note 2's screen is not narrower than the original Note, just taller.
How is the Note 2 less of a phablet than the original? Bigger screen, and it's even incorporating more tablet-like features over the original such as dual-window functionality.

screen is definitely an improvement, almost no black crush, and a very small amount of black blotches (when viewing the screen in a totally dark environment).
but: it's the same story as with all amoleds from samsung before:
you'll have the luck of the draw! it took me around ten (!) note 1 to find one with a decent screen! the screen quality
was different on each device i had seen!
same should applies here: one sample gsmarena got had a much more bright screen then the second one they got!
as soon as i got my hands personally on a few devices i will report how its with note2, although i guess it would be
the same!
I think I am getting used to the new screen now. I think the reason why I feel it's less like a phablet is because I have not yet rooted and so I haven't got the chance to change the dpi yet...;p

I dont believe you can change the news source. But If you choose information ticker>settings, you can choose what type of news to display (i.e. entertainment, us news, sports...) HOWEVER, Does anybody know how to make theFacebook ticker work? NOTHING I do will make it work, it says no data to display, when I push the refresh button on lock screen nothing happens.

Comparison analogy, the s3 is a v10 Lamborghini, and the note 2 is a v12 Lamborghini. With jelly bean, the s3 performance is really really good, and note 2 even better. How I use the phone, I would say it's a lot better. Reasons why, bigger better screen, stylus activity, bigger better screen, bigger better screen, extra performance, better game performance, more thoughtful ui enhancements, more features and last but not least, bigger better screen.

LOL nice!! Good to see people are liking it.
I just wished Samsung could of done the S3 Mini with the same high end specs and share some of the features as the S3/Note II. That would be the phone for anybody who wants to try Android but are skeptical or worried of the "big size" of the phones.

Just bought a Galaxy Nexus instead of waiting for the N4 to come back in stock..

So I sold my S3 (which I really regret) in anticipation for the N4. I couldn't get one on launch and theyve been sold out in the UK play store ever since.
I'm kind of glad I didn't get one now. I was always concerned about teething issues and 16gb bothered me.
Today I decided to get a GN off eBay as a stop gap. Besides the camera, it is a wonderful device. I like the build and I love the pure black front. I'm also a sucker for amoled screens. I've used my brothers one fairly extensively and with 4.2 it seems like a really "complete" device.
My plan is to keep the GN for around 6 months. At that point I'm hoping Google are going to do an N7 and release a 32gb model. Only at that point will I pick an N4 up.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to getting it, and for the first time since my S1, having a device which I can run 100% working AOSP rooms on.

Cool story
I think you'll really like it. I've had mine for about 3 weeks - got it for a steal on eBay right after the Nexus 4 was announced. When I got it, it looked completely unused.
Anyway, even the camera doesn't bother me. It's as good as any other cell phone camera I've ever used though I suppose it's not the best out there (HTC or Nokia most likely have those). Still what I use my phone camera for is stuff that winds up downsized on Facebook anyway. If I want to take nice photos, that's what my Canon EOS T3 is for.
Yea it is not a bad decision. The camera really does not bother me at all because it actually takes great pictures. Overall it is the software mix with the mp that produce great shots so the 5mp only sounds bad but quality is pretty good imo. The development is amazing as well with all the new 4.2.1 Roms coming out
Also depends on how much you got the gnex for thou?

To the OP I gave my wife my S3 and took my old GNex back from her. She hated the battery life of the GNex and I hated not having the latest version of Android lol. All in all the GNex is a great phone I just wish I could get the battery to last a bit longer.

I am in the exact same place as the OP. I sold my white S3 to buy N4 but after 10 days w/o a decent phone bought a brand new GNex.
Actually I do not regret of selling the S3. I really love the pure android.
I tried CM in s3 and it was buggy as hell.
I will go for an N4 but gnex is a remarkable phone. Period
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Thanks guys you've certainly reassured me.
I think I've made a good decision for the meantime. I played with stock 4.2 on the gnex and I absolutely loved it. Android has come so far from eclair, which is what I started on.
And I don't care what anyone says about amoled, the pure black with saturated neon blue on the gnex is sexy as hell.
Only thing is gaming, but for anything serious I much prefer to use the N7. I'm sure the gnex will cut it for temple run etc!
I can see myself becoming a serial flasher again lol.

I totally agree. I hear a lot of people *****ing about the displays on this phone, but I have to disagree, especially after a minor color tweak. Punchy colors (but not too punchy), super dark blacks, 320ppi (pentile be damned it still looks great)..I find myself just staring at my home screen sometimes which features a city scape at night recolored with a rainbow like effect, it just really shows all the strengths of this screen.
Certain shades of gray are the weakness, but I rarely encounter them, and the rest of the time it just looks great, so I really don't care.

sell gnex then buy iphone = 1 less fanboi on xda??
I sat a couple of days ago with a N4 in my cart, with a ship date of 1-2 weeks...but something just didn't seem right to me. It was $350 I didn't really have to blow, but I really needed to get something going because my company is kicking everyone off their Verizon corporate plan at the end of the month.
I've been a Galaxy S I (Fascinate) user for the past 2 years, and I wanted to stay with a Galaxy family. I have been researching using a GSM GNex for T-Mobile Prepaid. So, I bailed on the N4, with the hopes that I could find a good deal on a GNex (I knew I could get a "like new" one from Amazon for $300).
Then my Fascinate died. My Galaxy S1 that I've babied and taken such good care of it's whole life....now in a endless bootloop with no USB access whatsoever to flash anything new to it. Oh well, I was going to have to send it back to corporate next week anyway. Still, I haven't been without a mobile for more than a day in a long time.
Somehow luck was on my side. The very next day, a local man posted his "like new in box" GSM Gnex for $200, and I pounced. Met him during his 2nd shift workbreak and bought it immediately. Got it home and shoved my T-Mobile SIM in there, and completed the activation and number port online. Took them about 8 hours (overnight) to port my number from the corporate plan.
I'm thrilled with my decision. I love the look, feel and quality of the GNex..and the step up in speed and smoothness from my Fascinate (that was running CM10 nightlies) is immense! I'll probably end up using this for a year or two and pick up one of the next generation Nexus phones (maybe a Google/Motorola Nexus?), skipping the LG N4.

Really? You think I haven't used a retina iphone? I have, quite a bit. Yeah, it's good, but bleh color and bleh black level, and come on, minuscule in size. Way worth the tradeoff of pentile thanks, especially at these resolutions. I would agree with the old 480x800 pentiles, but 320 ppi is damn small, and the downsides to pentile are hard to see at best. So, in the real world the Nexus screen imo looks much better.
Especially while looking at pictures or watching movies. The GNex is amazing compared to iphone 4's 'it's sharp but meeh'.

who finds the note 2 a little to big?

i have been using the note 2 for more than a month now and still think is a little 2 big. I do have big hands and im 6'1 but still can't get on the size. Note 2 is the best phone i've ever had the only problem is the size. Might go back to the nexus 4 eek: battery life) or switch to the new htc one/Galaxy S4.

I find it to be the perfect size, especially for things like videos and gaming and I'm tiny 5'3 lol.
I just find other phones like toys now.. Note 2 is a real phone

I feel the same way I grabbed my gfs ipod. (The only apple product we own) anyway it feels and looks ridiculously small compared to my N2. Like a kids toy..

i have been using the note 2 for more than a month now and still think is a little 2 big. I do have big hands and im 6'1 but still can't get on the size. Note 2 is the best phone i've ever had the only problem is the size. Might go back to the nexus 4 eek: battery life) or switch to the new htc one/Galaxy S4.

I like the size but will go to the next Nexus. Had all the Nexus series and bought this cuz I could not get a N4 at first.

I'm 5'2" and I think it's just right. The big screen is so nice to watch videos on our play games. I feel other phones are just so tiny now, even the S3, and let's not even mention the iPhone. It feels like a toy now.

People we are all different by design, just because you're tall with big hands doesn't mean you carry a big screen device, vice versa. People carry the phones they do because they like it physical differences are irrelevant. If you don't like the device then you shouldn't keep it past the return period,I think it's safe to say people communicating in a note II specific forum don't find the device size an issue......

Three weeks with this thing, and it just seems to get easier and easier to hold. The first and second day was a little painful, especially when I tried one handed use like I did with my Nexus 4, and then I realized that it wasn't possible. With that in mind, it is perfectly fine.

Yeah I'm actually the same height and from time to time I feel the same way. It's only when I'm using it one handed, which my hand can manage easily and reach across the screen.. but only by holding the phone precariously, which becomes annoying sometimes.especially considering how big my damn hands are. Everything is so damn pleasing about the phone though that it's hard to really dwell on that. It's only occasionally though, I feel you.

Honestly, I find my Galaxy Nexus a little too small, and I'm really considering the Note 2 due to it's size. The screen is just right to me.

I feel that Note 2 is kind of big for me.I only feel it comfortable using the phone under 5 inches.

What do you like the most about your note 3

It's big, it's beautiful, it's fast, it's smooth, camera quality, screen quality, s pen experience is all top notch, and it's the new kid on the block. Not sure about you guys, but I haven't seen much advertisement for this device (in Hawaii) which tells me that there won't be too many people with it (in Hawaii). Kinda makes me feel special.

That it's mine. ☺???

Good battery (according to my usage, I had to change battery twice and I had to change the battery once).
More natural white and other color.
Smooth operation (no shutter when watching TV through HD Homerun).
Removable battery (do you see the first line?)
Ample 32GB internal storage.

amazing
it charges so fast !!!!!!!:good::good::good::good::good:
beautiful screen
amazing overall
I love the screen. It makes customizing it more fun than on any other phone I've had. I also love how smooth the transitions and animations are, and how fast it is. It's a beautiful phone that you appreciate more, the more you play with it.

Beautiful screen? Check
Ultra fast processor? Check
Lots of ram? Check
Excellent camera? Check
Or as phone arena puts it...
Cons:
None.

So far I love everything about the Note 3 (even Touchwiz) but hands down the screen is the best part about this phone. I walked into T-Mobile today and the screen is so vibrant it made every other phone in the store look like garbage.
Everything. Some things amaze me, like the charging time. Unreal how quick it charges.

Everything! And now to add to the list of awesomeness that is the Note 3, I just found out the it's ANT+ compatible. I just tested this successfully by pairing it with a Garmin ANT+ heart rate monitor!

Eeeeeverything. Seriously. This phone is nothing short of amazing.
Or maybe it's because I was in purgatory with an HTC Sensation for 2+ years. The Sensation was so bad, I almost broke down and upgraded to an SGS4 when my contract was up. But I held out for three more months knowing the GN3 would come "soon". Longest three months ever.
But if I had to highlight something great about the GN3, it would be the battery life, performance and screen. Yea ok, those are three things but you really can't just pick one good thing to say about this phone.
The screen for sure. I don't have my Note 3 yet (ordered on Negri Electronics last night) but from playing with it in store that screen outshined my Note 1 screen by a ton, much better color and white balance while having impossibly small pixels. That screen alone seems worth the upgrade.

Damn lol, you must be the happiest person on earth. The sensation was truly a piece of garbage and you came from that? You went from zero to hero!
My girl did the same upgrade, she is in love with this phone!!

The screen, obviously, and the IR port. I have been missing having an IR port since my treo days, it's about bloody time that technology made a comeback.
