How do you swap your SIM cards on your Tilt2/TP2?
The instruction is to use ones thumb to push it out. I find this to be impossible. I have to use a Swiss Army knife (one of those key chin ones) to get under one corner of the SIM to get my SIM out.
Is there an easier way to accomplish this task?
At first I couldn't get the bloody sim card out but now I can do it by slipping the fingernail of my pointer finger under it and then using a pinching motion.

I guess I need to grow my fingernails (at less one nail) longer.
I travel overseas that is why I need to swap SIM cards. With all the security rules at the airport, I would not be able to bring my Swiss Army knife on me.

The instructions with my TP2 say to use the stylus to push the far end of the SIM card out slightly, then you can pull it out. There's just enough room to get the tip of the stylus into the far end of the slot. Works for me.

There is a little hole at the top of the SIM card recess. I have no problem pushing the SIM card with the tip of the stylus, just enough for me to get it out.
Is the battery door cover on anyone's G2 loose? I mean, it used to be a nice tight fit when I first got it, but now after owning it since its release date is seems to be just loose enough to annoy the hell out of me. It doesn't rattle but it slides back & forth just a little bit, maybe a couple millimeters worth. Just curious if this happens to anyone else's G2, and if so what did you do to make it stop doing that.

No, it doesn't fall off the phone at all, it's in there pretty good. It slides up & down parallel to the phone itself, so when I'm holding it it just doesn't feel secure (IMO).
Had that problem long ago, it was caused by the phone lock not the cover. I had a replacement and it was locking perfectly again

Check the tabs on the left side. I noticed that mine got lose also it was from the tabs bending out. Just bend them back in and you should be fine.

Which left side are you referring to, the metal clips or the black clips? And which we are you bending them to fix it, toward the center or away from the center? Thanks.
These tabs on the door its self. Just bend slightly and slowly, they will break so be careful.

So on my 3rd Lumia 900, I noticed the sim slot tray wasn't flush with phone... I never did get that fixed but whatever...
Anyways... I removed the tray and noticed 2 things 1) a stricker with some numbers, and 2) a second sticker that is actually used to mask some type of button or something. I didn't notice this on the first 2 devices I had (maybe they didn't have it, or maybe I didn't notice). I had to remove the plastic thick sticker on the right side to see the button or whatever it is... Took me forever to put it back on in place properly.
Anyone know what this is?
IIRC, it covers the slot that allows you remove the locking pin that retains the screen, so you can get inside the phone. You can use the SIM removal tool as a lever to remove the pin, then use a plastic pry tool to remove the screen.
This will void your warranty.
DONT TOUCH IT!!!
if you absolutely must touch it, be aware that your warranty is at stake. if you aren't familiar with the inner workings of a handset, its best to leave it alone.
You wouldn't start poking around inside of your TV if you found a small hole.

Actually.....it could void your warrently....if they checked that. Removing stickers on a handset is usually an indicator of a stay away area near hear...stay away.....
When they swapped by phone last week because of the vibrator....they definitely opened the sim slot and looked in...I had no idea why....but I do now.

Removing the sticker is what lets them know that you voided the warranty.

Some stickers....whenyou remove them....say VOID VOID VOID. All you can say is OPPS OPS OPS OPS...because the they are 1 way stickers...usually....won't go back on.
Want to know whats under the sticker....go to YouTube and find the break down video....

I removed the sticker a few times to look in, until finally posting this, each time I was able to put it back. It's NOT one of those tamper proof stickers, it just covers that hole...

This thread did make me go look. got the flash light out, the reading glasses, I'm looking inside there....and boom....I see the darn this right on the top. First glance....this is a "You void your warrenty" type of sticker. But thats my opinion. The one of the Dell Venue Pro was black and barely noticable...until you pull it back and it left its surprise.....but then you were looking for the SD card....

I have to admit, the same day the YouTube video came up showing how to dismantle the phone, I went ahead and did it. It's pretty slick the way it's held together.
I wanted to see how the Vibrator Motor was installed to see if there was a good reason for the rattle and possibly a fix. Unfortunately, it's under the Main Board, and I was not that enthusiastic, so never got to see it. But I can confirm it's the Motor, or something close to it, and NOT the camera lense. I ran the vibrator while the phone was open so I could find the source. Again, it's under the Main Board, so could not see the actual rattle source.
I'm wondering if it might be one of the metal plates that clip on to cover the IC Chips, thus the different rattle on different phones. All the other parts seem to be solidly mounted.
PS: From what I can tell, there's no sign that the sticker had been lifted after I put it back in place.

Ok, so this isn't anything special...yet. But I do intend to see how much more I can find out over the weekend.
I decided I was gonna see what's under that back panel, so here are some pics, and what I did.
What you need:
-Patients
-Precision Screw Driver (Philips Head)
-Thin Guitar Pick
1st, Remove the top and bottom covers on the phone. This will expose 4 of the 5 screws you need to remove.
2nd, Peel up the bottom label. BE VERY CAREFUL AND VERY SLOW!!! This will expose the 5th screw to remove the back.
***This bottom label is designed to snap away from itself if removed too quickly. I don't know if this would void anything, so don't chance it.
3rd, Using a guitar pick on the HDMI PORT SIDE of the phone, carefully wedge open the seam down the side of the phone. Once this is done completely on that side, the backplate just kinda peels off, so to speak.
It appears as if there are a total of 6 water indicator stickers once the cover is removed.
NOTE: When you put the backplate back on, there is a single snap just above the camera that has to be secured before the top cover will go back on properly. BE CAREFUL, it looks like it can break easy.
Good tutorial. At least we have a tutorial on how to take apart the back of the ion. Hopefully there's future battery replacements that offer better battery life so we can use this method to change the batteries or other needed purposes.
Do you think it is possible to change the battery? It'll be great knowing that once this battery died I can buy a replacement.

Getting to the battery is my goal. I've a second part-time job at a battery shop, so... once someone or myself can get to it, I can see if it can be ordered or if we can build it in the lab.

UPDATE: This coming weekend, I will be taking this phone apart some more. Any warranty stickers I encounter, if any, will not be touched unless I can do so and still be able to reapply it. I will be taking pictures of everything I do, and will post them here. Stay tuned...

At Flash, my battery level is too low to result in dead phone, I tried to fix by simply removing the hardware but it's a big mistake, just flash the full charge the battery when everything is all right, no need to remove and reinsert the battery cable. sorry I do not have time yet capture
So I was having major trouble and decided to try and take the battery out. got one step further than tribalartgod, and took off the second plate by removing the torx screws (t5 fyi) and got nowhere after that. any who, Just thought I'd post the pic of whats next.
btw got the phone back up and running just had to charge a long time and reflash.
Did they have to have the top of the plastic connector open almost like a lid to pull out the ribbon? That's how most all of them are on the PSP. Maybe the same on the phone. Thanks for the pics.

Sorry, I didn't think to take any pictures of the plastic backing part. But, no I didn't have to remove any ribbons. Its just another plastic backing. I think there might have been some connectors but they were just contacts, no pins or plugs.
Oh and make sure the sim card and removable memory are out when you remove the plastic because they slide through the plastic into the slots. Its helpful to have a snap tool or guitar pick. I started from the bottom of the phone near the camera button and worked my way up and around. These snaps are harder to pop off too.
Nice. I appreciate the tip. I'm so behind on things I want to and need to do with this phone. I only get about 4 hours a week I can play, so.. I'll get to do everything I say I will, it just may be delayed.

after looking at both of your brave pictures. i noticed a slot under the sticker on the right side, in tribalartgod's pics, where you can see contacts. also in Guregnack's pics the plastic is gone and contact points are exposed.
could these be test points for SETool unlocking?
i have the at&t ion an have no 'official' unlock method. have seen the paid test point method for alot of other xperia's. i got my ion for free so,why not pay to unlock it.

any idea what the prongs by the flash are for? look a bit similar to SGS3's wireless charging cover contacts. I could be hallucinating though.

I notice in your photos there appear to be two more water indicator sticks. If they are, I say bravo to Sony... Placing those at various levels could tell them the extent of water damage. Pretty smart move if you ask me.

most likely its nfc antenna connectors ,
nfc tags are working only if i hold it just right next to camera
im having problem removing the bottom cover. it seems tightly secure; i dont really want to scratch anything lol.
I just took out the back cover and see in the little bit that's see through on top of the white sticker label (the rectangle see thorugh thing that is covered by some orange plastic) what is that? because mine looks like it's broken but it might be just like that abnyways... It doesn't look neat compared to the others and that it looks like it's burnt or something but I'M NOT SURE, cant see it properly

Has anyone such a problem - when push on spen it clicks and then pops out a bit but you can't get it out? It's stuck. Does anyone has some suggestions? I can't pull it out at all...
Put some force on it using your finger nails and try to break it free... otherwise disassembling the phone is the other option.

That's a thought... try letting the case get warm (not too warm or cold) or put it in the freezer for a few minutes.
Tough wuv with either cure it or break it...
Do Not use any kind of lubricant or solvent.
I take it you can press the little bit on the end of the pen and that comes out and then its stuck from then on or can you not even press the end bit out? Paul

I noticed on my note 20 already I've had to wipe my pen with alcohol my daily oils and dirt make it feel gritty sometimes

Alcohol can craze many plastics... not a good plan.
Lol, I've had isopropyl literally disintegrate a butane lighter in under a minute, leaking butane like a sieve.
If you put a tempered glass screen protector on it could be the adhesive has gotten inside with the S-pen and then cured.
Depending on what the adhesive is (if that is the problem) depends on how you might be able to extract it...

Have you checked YouTube?
There's several videos on how to get the pen to come out.
The simplest method I found was the 1st result of googling "How to remove a stuck S-Pen".
Most other videos are variations on the same method/principle.
Hi to all. I have tried a lot of methods and non of them works. As I was saying I just can push on it and spen end pops out to be released and when I'm trying to pull it it is stay there like a rock. Before a while I was not be able to even push on it, I thought maybe some sand get inside from a beach, and yes, I was right. When I clean it with some type of medicine alcohol (with blowing it out of course) it became clickable again. So I suppose maybe this button doesn't send a signal to the phone anymore to release spen?

Can I try to place a different spen near the phone, connect it with my phone and push a top button on a new spen, would it release my old spen from my phone?
Or, maybe, there is somewhere application to manually force this deamn motor
to release the stylus? I've found only app that saying was the spen top button pushed or not. That's how I figure out that this part could be broken. I hope it is because I would rather replace my spen than open my phone.
The top button on the spen does nothing except provide an easy way to pull it out.

When you reinsert it at about the .6 inch mark you start to feel slight uniform resistance.
Oddly at last .1 inch it seems to pull it in; I believe it's magnetic! Interesting critter.
Behaves the same if button is in or out.
Confirmed, there's a magnet in the last half inch of the spen. That's what holds it in place.
That's why it will pop out if you drop it hard enough.
There are no other mechanical mechanisms holding in place... normally.

Something is physically preventing it from moving.
Contamination of some kind... you can try to force it out.
If that fails it's repair shop time.
Look at a breakdown video for this phone, it will give you some clues how hard or easily a repair shop can fix it. I don't recommend taking it apart yourself, these phones are bears to disassemble.

The pen is held on by friction only. The button on the end is nothing more than a way to pull it out using your fingers. It does not lock it in.
Pairing another pen will do nothing.
You're going to have to use more force to pull it out. Otherwise, either take it to a Samsung store, or send it in to get it removed.

Actually it's held in place by a magnet; the end of the spen is magnetic.

Actually, no it is NOT. IT is held in by FRICTION. Every S Pen in EVERY Note device is that way.
Something has gotten on the OPs S Pen or has gotten in the phone which is causing it to stick.

Hi, you were right. I've got it out. Thank you all. There was a lot of very small sand like dust inside.
I've used a medical oil based medicine to fill a hole with Spen first of all - thought that there was even some super glue (that is how it was hard to pull it out and that medicine oil has some preferences that it could get weak super glue, but it was not the case), that oil helped me just to lubricate all the hole inside of the phone where Spen placed. Later I've attached a strong piece of yarn around the Spen button and tried to pull it out. After few attempts no result I was hopeless and tried to pull much harder even till it brakes. It went out then. Now top Spen button is a bit loose but it works!
Thank you guys for your suggestions and help one more time.
Now I will dry all inside and outside with a little of an alcohol to be on a safe side.
