Windows\StartUP question

Can anyone tell me which of these entries in my StartUp screen I can do without to speed up my Rom or ? I know some of the entries there are from TouchFlo. Have seen mention of some people deleting poutlook.lnk, and sddaeomon.lnk, not sure whether I can also, and what effect it would have on my system. The PTTStart.exe I think, is somehow there as a result of the SleuthPTTfix to correct#5 Hardware button,, Not sure what TrayIcon_MannerMode.lnk might be either. Running Schaps 4.22 w/cube 1.62
btdwake - BT related - i removed it.
only poutlook and launcher must remain.
all other links are programs you can do without - it was your choice to install them.
TrayIcon_MannerMode.lnk gives the possibility to switch to vibrate if you press and hold the Comm Manager button.
If you don't start it, you will only loose this functionality, nothing more...
You are right PTTstart.exe is installed by PTT fix, I think it can be deleted from the start up without a problem, GPRS monitor is for SPB Grprs moitor I believe. Fldlgchds is for file dialog changer.
Thank you,,you really know your stuff..Will try your suggestions and delete what might not be necessary.

Click to collapse
don't delete... move
make a folder and move everything to it you don't want. If you screw something up, move it back.

Wise words, this way he will not have to learn how to make links to the programs...
Thanks had already decided to do that one at a time, but to delete,, but keep in the recycle bin just in case. I did remove the PTT.exe, to recycle bin, but found out that my button 5 wouldn't work as a result..so obviously the PTTfix (cab)obviously is needed to keep the 5 button working. Couple of work arounds on Schaps Rom that were needed. Not sure about that BT awake file. Probably can do without. Which got me thinking about the bluetooth search plugin on my Today screen which I never have gotten to work ! Can't ever find my bluetooth headset. Oh, but I digress.

Deleting vertual keyboards I want to delete. Please help!

OK, so sometimes my phone switches to keyboards I don't want and will never use and I was thinking if I just delete the ones I don't won't so their not an option my phone will always default to the one I want, make sense? Please help me accomplish this! =D
please don't pass me over guys lol, bump!
does this mean no one knows how to disable/delete the unwanted keyboards?
bump.
bump! please help
See if this tool suits your needs. It only hides (not delete) unwanted SIPs.
I once had an issue on my original Tilt 1, where it would keep defaulting to a keyboard I did not want. I could not make the keyboard I wanted stick.
I used an app called SIP changer and it allowed me to make the keyboard I wanted to stick as my default.
Don't know if it will work for on the TP2 but you can give it a shot. I couldn't find it to attach, but it was called "SIP Changer" I believe. Good luck.
UPDATE: FOUND IT, give it a try.
Those tools seemed really hopeful! But for some reason they didn't show the option I wanted which was curious because on their pictures the option I wanted was shown. I only want FULL QWERTY to show/be active every time. No other keyboard.

Why havent we just made an app that is a copycat of AOSP dialer/contacts?

In another attempt of having a stable phone, with the AOSP dialer/contacts/messaging...
I know we have a few [stable, but sorta not stable] roms that are AOSP related,
I understand so much code can/cant be transfered from Sense into making an AOSP Rom, and I understand that. im an older C+ / VB programmer, and understand trying to make something out of decompiled code is a *****, so ...
instead of trying to make a rom that is all converted over,
why hasn't anyone, in the time of Hero/Sense, all the way till now,
hasent anyone just made an app that is coded/looks just like the regular
AOSP Dialer/contact/messaging stuff?
Not to completely replace our phones dialer and what not, but still id end up clicking this "made up" app before I would click my regular dialer icon..
I mean, there are plenty of apps that read our call logs, contacts list
stock dialer/contacts dont look too complicated, is it the layout that would be hard?
Are there any developers that read this? Can anyone lead me in the right direction? Like, list of APIs/whatever type of stuff that is called from in Android coding? Im no stranger to code, but i know nothing about android coding / java.
But again, can anyone send me the right direction? I understand get the Android SDK emulator and what not, but i dont feel like following slow moving tutorials for hello world widgets.
Ill be more than happy to do this day and night, to get desired results.
I dont think im asking too much, and I could make this a way longer explanation.
Thanks again to anyone / everyone thats willing to help, or that is interested.
Really? No one?
Just shed some light for me, come onn
why not extract some .apk's from a working ROM that has the aosp elements and putting them into another ROM you want to transfer them from? i dunno thats where i would start before trying to copy whats already created basically.
Can't you just push the mms.apk and contacts.apk from aosp via adb? I coulda sworn it worked on my hero

stock apk?

I hope this is the right section as it is related to development of the stock apk for the t889.
I have decided to get rid of much of the stuff I don't need in a similar fashion to this gent....basically removing all the bs I don't need on my phone.

Now I don't wanna just go removing stuff and I ah a free used of TI backup so I can't freeze and test that way....
SO what id like is a list similar to this for 4.1.2 but more detailed about what does what. I think eventually I want to make my own rom. I have looked at android kitchen...LOL looked at...any way.

This all started when I wanted to remove the Dlna.apk and I was concerned about what it may do... based on this...

I don't think Ill use that service, but I do use the "share" option when I highlight words to define or speek words I don't know how to say. It is ver helpful and something about the ios devices I miss dearly. DOes anyone know if this apk will affect the share option? I am usint ti backup for full backu pat the moment then im gonna delete it reboot and see what happens. If I had cash I would buy TI and freeze it...I guess there is other options too, but I still want to know what these things do..curiosity killed the cat? satisfaction brought it back..
I bet this is kinda "stupid" to most of you and goes unanswered but thats cool.
Merry metal day! i mean christmas.

[Q] List of apps safe to freeze/disable?

I searched here and didn't find a list. I think I will experiment and see how much bloatware I can freeze.
Anyone else willing to experiment and post their list?
