Eye tracking problems - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note 3

Is anyone else having problems with the eye tracking features? Mine doesn't seem to be able to see my eyes in any kind of situation. No glasses and plenty of light yet the eye in the notification bar stays dim.

Is your white "dirty"?

Hey all!
I've noticed that when my screen is a bit dimmer and I'm viewing whites like on Facebook or even in the xda app the coloring seems "dirty" and it isn't a clear white. Does anyone else notice this too? Is this expected?

I have noticed this as well and keep my brightness manually at about 35% to prevent it. From what I understand it is normal for this screen technology to display whites like that when the screen brightness is low.

[Q] proximity sensor lighting up orange¿¿

Ok so on my et4g, the proximity sensor is lit up. I've never seen or knew it could light up.. it's a dim orange. Yes I'm positive its the proximity sensor too. I've messed around with it and it is still working..
Attached is a pic of it... looks light purple but it's not..
Anyone know why this could be lit up and not go off?? I've never seen anything like it before

Maybe the red led is screwed and if by any chance it is purple its just red+blue at the same time
I say reboot and if this keeps happening logcat and try a new rom
Your last hope would be going to the sprint store

How about a picture in the dark without the flash?
Not calling bs or anything, just covering all variables here. The 'lighting up' could be light reflecting off of it. I've seen mine shine before in the right light. It's not an LED so if it's actually emitting any light, in case you didn't know - that's not good
Seriously though, no flash and a dark room or it didn't happen.
That was in a dark roon with no flash on the other camera. If flash was on the et4g screen would have a flare on it.
I figured out what caused it.
It was an app called -notification pro plus-
There is a setting under general settings to use the proximity sensor.
I guess it doesn't work well with out phones.

Red and blue LEDs are on the left side of the phone, not the right.

[Q] Jellybean 4.1.1 Status Bar and Navy Bar burn ins?

OK, so ever since I've been using the stock ROM for jellybean, I've been noticing a burn-in on the screen when I view media, play games, or anything that hides the two. I've never seen this happen on any other Android OS. I was wondering if maybe you guys had the sane problem and some way to fix it because its getting really annoying. I was thinking about it and maybe its because of the new Project Butter and how the display updates a lot and since the status bar and Nav bar never really change their position on the screen it would cause a burn in. So, I was wondering if you guys have a fix for this? Thanks in advance

There are so many threads on burn in I am not sure where to start...
Some people have experienced what you are calling burn in and others like me have not noticed it at all. You could try getting a screen wipe app and see if that clears it up.

I don't see burn in but I see a bluish tint in the browser where the notification bar would be.

Yeahhhh that's exactly what I'm talking about. Is there any way to fix it?

Meh doesn't bother me, its not that bad. Earlier phones like the nexus one had worse looking burn in.

I've had my nexus since February and have a blueish tint on the bottom half of the screen from the keyboard. Its only noticeable in low light when the screen brightness is turned down low.

Hide your top and bottom bars fellas, that's what I do.

This thing lights up....is it suppose to??

Hi all,
Please look at this picture ,sorry for the darkness, but it's the only way I can show these.
There are two lights here....left is my notification light....the right one is a red light which is the second circle or lenses look like thingy to the left of the front camera lense....and can only be seen easily in the dark, but I'm pretty sure it stay lit in the light too.
My question is: is that lense suppose to be lit up with red light the whole time? Is it the approximity sensor? Does it use that red light to work?
SORRY...THIS MIGHT BE A STUPID QUESTION AFTER ALL...BUT I'M A VERY CURIOUS PERSON.

A guess is its a (near)infrared light that helps the front facing camera with face detection. Anyone know for sure?
Sent from my PC36100 using xda app-developers app
It's the infrared of the proximity sensor. It probably stays on all the time because you have 'quick glance' enabled under settings > motion.

Screen Issues

I noticed on my new note on dark backgrounds some screen issues. I noticed a purpleish smear when i scroll on some dark background pages. Especially when i was scrolling thru a page here on xda on gray images a purple color smear would appear. Did anybody else come across this issue? Im exchanging it for another one tomorrow.

It won't matter if you exchange it or not. The new screen technology makes the pixels actually turn off so blacks are true blacks. When they turn back on it causes that purple smear, or at least that's the theory prior are saying in other threads about this issue.

I'm noticing this on Tapatalk right now - the purple smear with the brightness all the way down. I don't know about the color, but the squish blurred effect is surely intentional. I'll try messing with some of the color settings to see if it's affected.
