I would like to see that as well I believe the old note 10.1 didn't have one.

Samsung doesn't use Gorilla Glass and never had for their phones or tablets. They use their own laminated glass which they claim is just as good.

I don't think Sammy uses GG, they have always used their own laminated glass. Also FWIW, I am not impressed with GG. I have had numerous devices with it, GG1, GG2 and GG3 and it all seems to scratch up the same. Now, I will say that my SGT 10.1 is nearly scratch free after owning it for well over a year.

I own the s4 and s3, they both have gorilla glass, so it's possible that this has it too

Well I'll be...
:good:

Ok they list Sammi using gorilla glass in some of their devices . Still don't see this particular tablet listed that it uses their glass. Last years model did not and scratched easily

It has!
Found the specs on: handheld dotcom (cant post direct link - new...)
There it says it has GG 3
But other sources say something else, i don't know whats true...

GG3
I called Samsung and spoke to one of their Tablet specialists. They also say that Note 10.1 2014 got GG3.

No gorilla glass
As I was interested in the Note 10.1 2014 edition, I put the question to support at Samsung Netherlands.
They Informed me that the Note 10.1 2014 did not have Gorilla Glass and was not scratch-resistant.
Which was a deal-breaker for me.

Last 2 posts contradict eachother. Moral of the story: Customer service reps have no idea what they're talking about.:laugh:

True. To be honest, I don't think Sammy could build such quality glasses.
I mean, of course the GG scratches too, but have you guys ever used non-GG glasses?
Holy hell!
I had a Sony phone with no GG. ... A few months later it was gg for the phone.
My S3 got no scratches. My iPhone 3GS had scratches, but man, that phone was handled like ****. (it was an iPhone, it deserved it.)

I got the Note 2014 the day it was released and have not used a screen protector. I do have the Samsung case. I do not have any scratches.
It is not listed on the Corning Gorilla Glass website as having GG3.

[Q] Pre-applied screen protector??

Does the retail version of SGS II come with a pre-applied screen protector as did my SE X10, just wondering whether to pick one up when i get my phone.
I know it's got gorilla glass but would rather be safe than sorry as this phone has to last me at least 2 years
You'll need to buy one, it only comes with the film that's covered in logos and writing.

Rob from Phandroid talked to one of Samsung exceutives during the show in HK and was told it GN has Gorilla Glass.
i also heard that it has gorilla glass....
The Galaxy Nexus doesn't have Gorilla Glass because of the Contour Screen technology... Gorilla Glass could never be used to make it, I guess. Anyway, my friend has a Nexus S, and it uses that same thing, and the screen is great.
The only thing I'm wondering about the GN... isn't the high resolution going to suck all the ****ing battery?
i think that the battery will be the same as a galaxy S II

Poor example, the HD2 does indeed have Gorilla Glass.
The Nexus One, whoever, does not.
The Nexus One does not have Gorilla Glass. It does however have hardened glass, just like Gorilla Glass is. The basic principle is that the internal forces in the glass are stronger than the force applied to it while scratching it. If it gets hit with a sharp object however the glass will shatter because the forces making it strong are no longer "balanced" so it will work against you and shatter the glass, unlike normal glass that would just get a crack.
I think because Gorilla Glass doesn't supply curved glass.
Nexus S doesn't have it and it works just fine.
I like my phone naked. No case, no screen protector and still scratches free after 10months.

Actually, it does
Source:http://www.corninggorillaglass.com/products-with-gorilla/htc
It's listed under HTC Dragon, the codename it had before launch. My old Nexus One never got a scratch on the screen, and I sold it in that same condition.
NOTE: My current Sensation has "Gorilla Glass" but is moderately scratched up; especially visible when the screen is off with a hint of glare. Gorilla Glass is not all that it's cracked up to be, it's just harder to CRACK not SCRATCH, hence why the Galaxy SII fared so well against the iPhone4S in the drop test. Gorilla "Glass" is essentially just a hardened plastic. Real glass cannot bend as well as Gorilla "Glass".

Is anyone certain if my Note 3 has gorilla glass

I been researching and looking for days. Some sites say it uses gorilla glass 3, other sites say it's an equivalent of gorilla glass. Does anyone really know for sure what the hell kind of glass is on the note 3. The S4 definitely has gorilla glass 3, so I would assume the note 3 would as well, but I'd like to know for sure.
Sent from my SM-N900T using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Gorilla Glass 3 on the note 3 I believe. The Galaxy gear on the other hand has sapphire glass.
Just get a tempered glass screen protector. Spigen and Bodyguardz both make tempered glass screen protectors for the Note 3.

I am waiting for them to come out with their nano slim tempered glass for the note 3. Loved it on my s4.
it has gorilla glass 3
I have never used a screen protector, and don't want to start now. All my phones I had with gorilla glass never had any scratches on them. Or least none that could be seen with the naked eye
I think Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is not using Gorilla Glass 3, or any Gorilla Glass.
Corning Gorilla Official site until now never mention it is
http://www.corninggorillaglass.com/product...gorilla/samsung
Or Full list here - http://www.corninggorillaglass.com/product...oducts-list-new
And GSMArena site never put what kind of protection it is.
---------------------------------------
If Note 3 is Gorilla Glass, the site shall updates already, as even Nokia 1020, LG G2 already get mention but not the Note 3. This quite assure Note 3 is not using it.

Any tempered glass screen protectors available?

Is anyone aware of a tempered glass screen protector for the Note 10.1 2014? Since I began using them on my GS4, I got hooked and got one from Spigen for my iPad. Yes they add weight and are pricey but the performance is awesome. I really want one for my new Note. Thanks in advance.

I bought the same one for my parents for their note 2's and have absolutely no complaints so I expected the same quality for my note 3 and I wasn't wrong.

Just got in my Green Onions oleophobic screen protector today. Same material as the one I use on my Note 3. Works perfectly fine with the pen for me and IMO more importantly, the oleophobic coating makes sure my fingers don't grease up my note as I am taking notes and using my tablet. I would've liked to go all out and gotten a tempered glass screen protector but none are out yet and I prefer oleophobic protectors anyways. 26 bucks is a little expensive but I think you get what you pay for.

Yes. It was somewhat difficult to align because of that. They give you a huge sheet to remove dust bedore installation but I also uses the steamy shower install method to be dust free. Took about 10 tries but the cover fits perfectly now.

To be honest considering how much I use my phone its actually done pretty well, I have a 1cm long deep scratch and about 4 really light scratches that are barely noticeable and I've had the phone since release.
If your going to just use it in the house I would say you don't need one but you never know.
P.S. I don't think that really answers your question but still atleast you have something to think about haha
Found One
Well, a tempered glass screen protector finally hit Ebay (I can't post links yet but do a search for "Tempered Glass Explosion proof Screen Protector film for SAMSUNG Phones 2013 new" and you should find it). I know that Alibaba (seems to be an Asia-based import company) has listed tempered glass screen protectors for a month or so (if you wanted to import in bulk) and it was nice to finally find one on EBay for $17 (with shipping). I'm sure it will take a few weeks to get here but will let you know how it works once I get it.

Screen Protector film.. do we really need it?

Hi, just got my Note 10.1 LTE. Should we really use a screen guard?? by the way I hate those.. I never used a screen protector in my Galaxy S - its been 3years without any scratch.
My note 10.1 came with a free screen guard (SuperGuard - Clear for Note 10.1 2014) from my vendor. And I checked documentation for the devce.. didn't find Gorilla Glass mentioned anywhere.. so the question is - should we really use a screen protector for Note 10.1 2014?
Comments and your experience please..

I've seen reviews and spec lists for the 2014 Note around the web that specify that it has Gorilla Glass 3. The Samsung website does not mention the glass at all, but that does not mean it doesn't have it.
I have an HP Touchpad which has Gorilla Glass 1. It never saw a screen protector and it doesn't have a scratch on it.
I do not intend to put a screen protector on my Note.
It has now seen three cases already though. So far I like the Poetic slimline best.

i agree about the strengths of modern day screens
gorilla glass or not
but i find without a screen the fingerprints are harder to clean as i use mine for drawing etc
i had my P600 with a screen and without a screen and then i put a screen back on
i use Benks screens (anti fingerprints - and it really makes a difference)...... love em.......
if you put on a cheap screen then you wont know what i am talking about
i can understand if people dont use em.....
cheers all and love my P600

There was a long thread on this on AndroidCentral. One person was told by Samsung Technical Support that it had Gorilla Glass 3, and another was told it has a Samsung plated glass that is just as good.
I guess either way it's pretty tough glass. I saw a test on Gorilla Glass 2, it's a lot tougher than any tablet or phone needs.

Screen protectors don't prevent a screen from cracking, they only prevent the screen from scratches.
Never had one on a phone/tablet...and never needed one. They make the screen look crap IMO (unless you're extremely good and make sure there are no air bubbles). But then I still hate them! If it was that vital to have one, Samsung would include one by default.

Not necessarily true. Zagg xtreme shields specifically state that they add impact resistance as do just like glass screen protectors. Tempered glass protectors also do A LOT to increase the chance of your devices screen surviving a fall. Hope this was helpful.

I'm not trying to start an arguement here lol but I honestly dont see how a screen protector can prevent a screen from cracking, what it will do is keep the glass in place when it does crack which is a good thing in such an incident.
I understand however anyone who has used a tempered glass protector will swear by their ability to keep a screen from cracking. I theory they absorb the impact and crack then selves rather than letting your screen crack. Personally they have saved my own devices over a half dozen times. So in practice if certainly seems to work. Some such as MIME Ghost Glass actually are harder and more scratch resistant than Gorilla glass 3 and many believe feel better than their stock screens. While this is all anecdotal and opinion you will find a huge number of people on these forums staunchly defending them. That being said, I have yet to put any screen protector on my Note 2014 as always hope this was helpful.
