Great Desk Stand - Droid Ultra Accessories

Just received my Elago M2 stand that I ordered from Amazon for $25. My Droid Maxx fits it great, with or without my Diztronic TPU case. It's one piece of solid aluminum, with rubberized feet on the bottom of the base and also in the support brackets. It comes in black or silver. I chose the black version to match the Maxx.
The great thing about this stand is that it has space between the support brackets to allow access to the micro-USB port for charging. It has holes in the back of the base for cable management as well. Overall, it's a nice alternative to the more expensive charging dock for the Maxx that seems to be of lesser build quality and will have to be replaced when the next phone is purchased. This stand should work with any phone going forward.

That's why I made this post, since they don't mention other phones on the Amazon page. It works perfectly with my Maxx. There's room to spare for a larger case as well. In theory it should work great with any phone that has the charging port on the bottom, like the new Droids, the Moto X, or the Galaxy series. It would still work with a side-mounted charging port, just not as elegantly.

I opted for the TYLT VU, as I also get wireless charging on top of the desk stand. :victory:

I have a TYLT VU as well, which I use on my nightstand. I love it but at $70 each I can only afford one of them, hence the search for a cheaper option. Currently using $25 Elago M2s at work and home office, and TYLT VU on the nightstand (so I don't have to fumble around with plugs in the dark). Works great.

Cradle Review: Sinjimoru Sync and Charge Dock Stand

Noticed a package sitting at my front door last night and found they delivered my Sinjimoru Sync and Charge Dock Stand. After spending a couple minutes attaching the cable to the cradle I found that the phone goes on the cradle very easily. The cradle supports the phone just fine with and without a kickstand case attached. I actually found it a bit more stable / less wobbly with the case on verse mounting it without a case.
Pros:
- Phone goes on very easily using only one hand to mount.
- Supports phone both with and without a case.
- Includes USB cable.
- Charges and syncs just as advertised with a single cable.
- Sharp Looking
Cons:
- Small lightweight base allows it to slide around on desk when pushing/swiping screen.
- Cable takes a little work to mount into cradle when you first set it up.
- Difficult to remove phone from cradle with just 1 hand.
- Phone is a little wobbly/top heavy. (again because of the small lightweight base)
Over all I like it for charging and will use it in conjunction with my Alarm Clock App as a nightstand cradle. However for my office, I will be purchasing something that has a little more stability as I use my phone a lot while on the dock.

Thank you for the review. I hadn't seen this product before.
Thanks for the review! I was looking for a cradle for my phone as well, but didn't see or know of any good ones. I had a Seidio one for my Evo 4g before, but the fitment wasn't all that great. I think it was more so of the micro usb connector not fitting as well as OEM. Do you notice this with the Sinjimoru?

When docked The phone rest on the USB plug and the back cover. So it does fit fine, but lacks the support at the bottom and sides of the phone you find on most cradles. I think it is a fair comprise for the ability to dock with those wanting to have a case on their phone.
Agreed, just placed my order last night. My main use for it will just be a night stand alarm clock. Looks pretty sick too!
Just got my charge dock the other day. As OP has stated it does feel a bit wobbly if you don't have a case as in my situation. My phone is actually only held up by the micro usb port itself, the back has about a 1-2mm gap from supporting the back of the phone. But besides that, the dock does a great job holding the phone. I also have a brushed aluminum case on preorder so once that arrives it should be a solid fit.

Official USB dock is ugly as hell, get the Zenis S2 dock instead.

eBay search, now around £10 if I remember right. I have a black one for my S2 which will be used on my blue S3. My dad's S3 above is on his white S2 dock.
Dock works just fine with the rubber seat that comes with it, the phone is solid when docked. Case users will need to remove the seat from the dock. People should confirm what cases fit in this dock when attached to the S3 but I imagine all official mesh style cases will be fine as the S2 is just fine with them minus the seat.
Thanks for the heads up. Just ordered 2 of them ;-)
Saw your post in another thread, thanks for the heads up, ordered two off of Ebay just now, one for home and one for the office. $11 each.
It really is one of the nicest looking docks I have seen, probably because it is in similar style to the iPhone one
Cheers mrk. Just bought one for £6.50.
thanks just ordered one
It's difficult to tell from the photo but do you think the S3 with the flip cover will fit in the dock?
Sent from my Transformer Prime TF201 using XDA Premium HD app
I have 2 that I use with my S2, I'm glad to hear it will fit.
Bought one, £6.50 thanks

Got any pictures?
Looks like this one will not be compatible with some cases. While the OEM version will absolutely be compatible with most cases. See pic below.
I'll go for the charger that lets me use a case. I learned that lesson already. You think it won't be a big deal taking the case off and putting it back on. But for me at least, it gets pretty annoying after awhile even if it does become second nature.

Almost bought a new dock for my sgs3 that will arrive on Tuesday,
until I read that my zenis sgs2 dock also fits.
Thanks for the heads up!

ya I just ordered ad GS3 from expansy and this item from ebay.
Zenis dock works with official mesh case so any case similar will also be fine
Flip case not included in that though!
I was expecting to see a dock with an ugly design, but it was actually nice, and that was the product you recommend. Looks nice. I will save it for later when I have my device.
Add me to the list! just ordered 2. Thanks for the heads up!
I really would have liked to get a dock this time around, but unfortunately my kid steals my phone all the time and having it in a dock means too much wear & tear and the possibility for it to be bent out sideways from the dock instead of pulled out, damaging the ports.
So, I bought a regular "Though Out ped3-u universal stand" instead, because my kid at least knows to yank the cable out the right way by the wire. My last stand was a portable desk stand, but was meant for a tablet, and my kid managed to destroy that, so, this ped3-u should hold up much better, being solid steel.
(And I suppose wireless charging would be even more ideal where fat fingered kids are concerned...)
Dock bought!

Check this out... works great with Nexus 5. I modified mine a bit so I could adapt it to work with my existing RAM mount setup on my dash, but I am pleased with the results.
One thing to note, however - the mount comes with a couple of steel plates, one of which normally needs to be mounted inside a case. If you don't use a case, you don't need a plate because the Nexus 5 has four steel discs built into the back cover already that the magnet in the magicMOUNT is more than powerful enough to hold on to. If you do use a case, you're going to have to use one of the plates because the added thickness moves the built-in steel discs too far away from the magnet for a good grip. If you use wireless charging, do not install the plate in the center of the case as it will block the induction coils and wireless charging will not work. Instead, offset the plate to one end like I did.
You can get this directly from Scosche for $19.99 plus shipping at http://www.scosche.com/magicmount and there are currently three different variations to choose from. Okay, on to the pics:

Looks like most of them are sold out. I was actually interested in the power one. I know it probably makes more sense to use a wireless charger, but in case I don't need to charge my phone I can just use the magnet to hold my phone. Plus the price isn't bad. It says 15-16 weeks delivery though....
Edit: Just called them up and the power mount is a new product. So I guess we have to wait 4 months.
All this needs is a qi charger built in and it will be the perfect car mount.
Ok, luckily I checked and the one you bought is back in stock. @dankoman, how long did the shipping take? I'm also from Philly. I chose the USPS shipping though, so I guess it depends which shipping you bought.

Oh ok that's pretty quick. And they shipped it out right away? I suppose I will prob have to wait a bit longer since I ordered it on a Friday evening. Also, how many different steel plates did it come with? And since the magnet plate sticks to the back of the N5 if putting it inside the case, does that make it hard to take off the case?

Just rig up a mount for the official Nexus 5 Qi charger. It works perfect. I adhered it right above my radio's LCD, the phone attaches firmly. I've had it like this for a month and it's never fallen off. Wrote some tasker scrips to make it truly awesome.
I don't understand...at first it said the one you had was sold out. The following day it said it was back so I ordered it. Now I checked and it said pre-order only and it will ship in two weeks...that's kind of BS.

Modified Bamboo Wood Charge Station

As a former Moto 360 user, I'm pretty happy with the Huawei watch but the charging experience is horrible. The Qi charger of the Moto 360 works as the dock and it makes charging effortless.
Enough with the whining, let's fix it. This dock that I bought for around $8 is designed for the Apple Watch and the iPhone 6 Plus. No big deal. The wood is soft and easy to work with.

First, for the watch:
-Make the hole bigger for the Huawei magnetic charger.
-The charger has to sit tightly inside the hole, doesn't come out with the watch but still easy to remove. I don't want to buy another charger.
Before:
After 10 minutes with the rotary tool:
It's much easy to dock the watch now. I found out that once I drop the watch on the charger, just press the screen by 9 o'clock. It will make the pogo pins align with the contacts on the bottom of the watch. Tried it a few time and it worked every time. :good:
Next, I want to make the USB-C connector permanently attach to the bottom of the dock so I can dock my Nexus 6P. It looks like this from the bottom of the dock:
To be continue...
Well done!
Kudos
I saw that dock on eBay and wanted to do the same thing. Thanks for being a guinea pig. (Looks like you need more practice with the rotary tool. Scratched it a bit.) Anyway, good luck with the USB plug.
Great really great where can I get it

There are 3D printed stands on eBay and Amazon

3D printed or not. It's not worth it to pay $25 for a piece of plastic.
I've got one of these stands as well, and I menage to get the Huawei charger in the hole as you did, however I have some difficulty with fixing the cable to charge the iphone to the stand. How did you do it?

Just build one out of lego! Completely customizable. Will most likely take a bit of trial and error but entirely possible. I just built one for my phone and watch. Here is what i was able to come up with:

Hows the angle of the charger cable when the phone is sitting on the dock?
I've been considering getting one of these combo docks, but have concerns about the angle and the cable being pushed against the side of the dock.

Accessories PITAKA MagEz Slider

This merely a post meant to share some insight for those who might be thinking of buying this product.
In my case, the Pitaka retailer (on Amazon.co.uk and Amazon.de respectively) didn't want to ship to any other EU country for some god-unknown reason, so I improvised with a package forwarding service (mailbox.de).
In any case, I got myself the Tactical MagSafe case for my Galaxy S22 (as the name implies, it has built-in magnets for MagSafe accessories, I got it over the Pitaka one because it cost 15 Euros less and covered more of the phone's body) for this stand/battery pack combo to work .
And the point of this post is to answer the same question I had before buying this:
It does work with with the S22 (or, if my guess is right, any other wireless charging compatible phone - as long as you stick a MagSafe ring onto their back or if a case already has the magnets), it wirelessly charges both while on the stand and as a standalone battery pack.
It gets warm but definitely less than with a regular wireless charger.

Aramid (carbon) fiber cases start at 25$ or so on AliExpress, while the MagSafe ones go for around 45$ (the ones on AliExpress are, dare I say, literally the Pitaka MagEz 2 case for the S22 lineup, just without the branding and at a lower price), but I've only found that Tactical MagSafe covers the top and bottom parts of the phone's frame while also offering MagSafe compatibility.
If there are any questions, feel free to ask.
hey man thanks for the post
can you link me to the case on aliexpress? also where did you get the battery pack and the stand?
links would be appreciated!!

Sure thing.
Here is:
- the non-MagSafe one (without the magnets inside, but it's cheaper): YTF-Carbon Carbon fiber phone case
- the MagSafe one (more expensive and for some reason covers less of the phone's frame, I'd take a guess that Pitaka buys from the same manufacturer and just slaps their logo on while charging 50% more): real aramid fiber case For Samsung Galaxy S22
- the case I got is called Tactical MagForce (it looks like the first one I linked, but has MagSafe magnets inside aka it has the best of both cases above; I sadly couldn't locate its original on AliExpress and only found it on a local Irish mobile phone accessory webshop): TACTICAL MAGFORCE SAMSUNG GALAXY S22 5G CASE
- Pitaka MagEZ Slider (the battery pack + dock combo; I ordered it from Amazon.de): Pitaka MagEZ Slider
