[Q] Is wifi calling useless? Mine is so buggy it can't be relied upon - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note 3

Thought the wifi calling feature was pretty slick... but apparently that's only in theory. Using fast connections without being firewalled has netted me less than stellar results. I'll dial and wait...and wait...and wait. Eventually it'll never actually ring the other end and show a connected status, but I'll hear the recipient asking "Hello?" like they've said it several times without me hearing a thing. Likewise for received calls.
And not to diverge here, but even calling on 4G with full bars seems to take several seconds before it actually gets a connected status and starts ringing. Maybe I was spoiled by Verizon (bleh, hate saying that).

[Q] "Invisible" LoS

This is really weird.
I know people have been having problems with Loss of Service, but so far, I've only had it happen once or twice. What's really bothering me, is that I've noticed an invisible service dropping problem that's actually way worse.
Twice now, my phone has full signal bars, and isn't roaming, but my wife will come home and say she sent me some texts. Sure enough, no texts. So I reboot, and suddenly I get a flood of text and voicemail alerts. So, not only was I not getting texts, but all calls were going straight to voicemail, as if the phone was powered off.
Has anyone noticed this?
I'm not rooted, no alternative kernel, nothing. I'm completely stock. If this keeps up, I have no alternative but to return the phone. I have a job where I have to be available for emergency alerts, and this is definitely a major problem.
I mean... why would the phone say it has a connection if it clearly doesn't?
Yeah can confirm the same. Its like the phone has los but doesnt realize it.

This is definitely a problem. It's usually referred to as "Stealth LOS". (or "POOS" but I have no idea what that stands for.)
If you decide to keep the phone, a workaround is to set Tasker to automatically reboot if it senses no signal. It should work even for the stealth cases. Obviously not everyone will feel that they should have to workaround the issue though.

At a loss over signal loss.

I have an annoying signal loss problem that has been on-going since 4.4, seemed to get a bit better with 5.0, but is bad again with 5.1. At random intervals the phone just loses all signal, as in no bars at all (just an empty triangle), and not even a provider showing. It does say "Emergency Calls Only" in the titlebar, not "No Service", suggesting it actually has signal. This is exactly what it does with no SIM inserted, but I have tried different SIMs to no avail. Eventually it does come back again by itself, but restarting the phone always fixes it straight away.
I can also trigger this behaviour by making a call. Sometimes it works, but sometimes as soon as the call connects, the signal does as described above (so naturally the call drops).
I have googled this for hours and found some problems that sounded similar, but no suggested fixes made a lasting fix on mine. One suggested fix was to clear cache and data for the "Phone" app, force stop, then restart. However, I noticed I have 3 apps labelled Phone. Is this normal? I did the clear/stop/restart on all of them, and that possibly helped for a while, but it started doing it again.
Has anyone seen or heard of anything like this?
the network problem is very troublesome. I now use two phones, one specifically for calls, and one this X ZL. Mine has a bit different problem. it doesn't catch good signals, and while on calls, it automatically loses signals. the call quality is also poor, i tried different sims, but to no avail. my 4 year old Samsung champ gives loud clearer calls on the same sim on the exact same location at the same time where my ZL fails to deliver. i wish we could change the hardware network module

Dropped signals when making calls

Hey guys,
So this issue has been going off and on ever since I got the Pixel XL
To start, I'm on the 7.1.2 version of android, running PureNexus, and everything is working great.
I made sure I was on a 4G connection and I tried in several places. When I try to make a call, the signal would immediately drop out, and drop to no bars, then no signals, then 4G will pop back up again. The call obviously didn't go through. I would have to try to make the call like 4-5 times before it would go through. It's not dropping the car mid way, but right after I started dialing and hitting the call button.
I'm not sure what's happening here. Its not really a big deal since I'm usually okay with retrying to call a few times, but what if its an emergency situation.

Calls drop when I'm not on speakerphone

Hey, title pretty much says it all. I'm on T-mobile in the U.S. I've tried it on the network and WiFi calling and I've had calls drop randomly, quite often. Sometimes it will be really soon into the call, sometimes longer. I thought at first it was a network thing so I called T-mobile and they said it looked fine on their end, and it says i have service.
Weird thing is that whenever I've made a call on speakerphone it doesn't drop. So i thought I must be hitting the hang up button with my cheek but I've tried holding it away from my face to see if it helps, and it doesn't. So its really weird. Does anyone have any suggestions?

anybody having issues with wifi and mobile data (T-Mobile)

I'm getting tired of it, wifi disconnects and reconnects or flat out doesn't work, mobile data flat out doesn't work most times unless I reboot the phone for either of them to work. I'm rebooting about 4-5 times a day just to get either working. I'm at my wit's end and about to get rid of this thing as soon as I can.
I generally love this phone, but I'm seeing similar issues. WiFi says connected, but I don't get any data. I thought it was my network at first, but noticed other devices working. Tested network while my phone was acting like this, and my WiFi and network were working great.
Separately, my phone sometimes won't dial out. I use Google Voice, so I'm not sure if it's the phone or Google that's not working, but it's very frustrating. The dial screen comes up, then immediately disappears. No errors or anything to indicate that it ran into problems. The dial screen just flashes. Rebooting seems to fix that. But all very frustrating. Especially when I'm trying to call someone while driving. I don't want to have to look at the screen. I want to be able to tell the phone to call and know it's going to do it. Instead, I tell it to call, it confirms it will call, then nothing.
