[FREE][3.0+]Cat Snaps - Photo snapping app for your cat! - Testing

Here is my new app Cat Snaps that requires testing. Requires 3.0+.
It is an app designed to allow your cat to take photos of itself. There's a simple laser catching game for your cat and as it hits the target the app takes a photo using the front facing camera. There's a gallery for viewing and sharing also.
Testing required: I primarily would like to know which devices are supported/unsupported especially regarding the camera function. General bugs and improvements would also be welcome.
Let me know what you think/if it works on your device!

p.s. If you have a cat that would be great to see your pictures.

Try turning off the Advanced Camera. It doesn't quite work well with our phones. Use the stock camera instead.

Version 1.0.0 was still buggy. You must have installed 1.0.1+ already.
The camera of the latest version 1.0.4 works just fine.
the only downside of Instagram for Android is the photo we shared on facebook doesnt show on news feed. We need to open the profile to show the photos created by Instagram.

Record Video From Front & Rear Camera?

Wasn't sure if if this should go in General, Q & A, or Apps..
In any case, I'm wondering if there's any way or any app out there which would allow for recording a video at the same time from both the front facing and rear facing camera?
For example, as a motorsports enthusiast who goes to track days at times on road courses, I think it would be very neat if I were able to attach the phone to the windshield using a suction mount with the rear camera facing the front of the vehicle and have a way to record a video with both the video feed from the rear facing camera (showing the view out the front of the vehicle) as well as from the front facing camera (showing the view out the rear of the vehicle) and have the app do a PiP (picture in picture) of the video. It would be a lot more easy and slick than using two separate camera's/video sources, and then later having to time sync them using some type of video editing software on a pc.
Just a random thought I had and figured I'd throw it out there for information..

Sounds like an extraordinary idea for an app!
don't know if it's possible.
I will try lol
but i don't think theres any app out there who can do it,
Yeah, I've searched around and haven't found an app that does anything like what I describe, but I'd have to think it's gotta be possible to query both of the video signals from each camera at the same time and then put them together and save it to the SD card. I'm certainly not a dev or programmer, but with as versatile as Android is I'd be surprised if it's technically not possible, just maybe no one with the know how has felt there was enough desire/interest for such an app,...yet.
This sounds like a great idea but not to sure our phones could handle the over head needed for that multitask. Maybe one of the newer phones with dual core could but I doubt this one could. Now that I said that someone will prove me wrong

CAMERA FIX!! no focus or flash issue what so ever; With this camera apk

HI everybody,
K this camera apk was pulled from the MIUI rom port while doing extensive testing of the rom it's self just to see how the rom did. While doing this I noted with the camera all issues we have on the cm and nexus based roms are non existent on the MIUI camera, but the camera does have issues.
1. It has two issues one when it takes a photo's with the rear facing camera it saves it upside down for some reason
2. second issue i found is when you go to the front facing camera it glitches in the transition and you half to close it out and restart and then it'll be on the front facing camera and you half to do the same to get back to the rear facing camera NOTE: the front facing camera does not flip the image
Now initially I thought this might of been the miui rom its self so I grabbed the camera apk and jumped to the Nexus rom and IT WORKS. I currently use this camera as my daily driver despite its issues and even though I have purchased the Snap Camera, I just prefer the MIUI camera...
I would note I ran a search on the camera apk files name and found this http://forum.xda-developers.com/find-7/development/mod-oppocamera-settings-timer-scene-t3003030 I tried the zips they have and they don't seem to work on our phone.
Also I did not know who to credit for this. I'm sorry for that; if some one know's who pm me or comment. Thanks
personally i find 'BlueCam' delivers better photos than the MIUI, the only features that don't work is manual focus but the auto focus does a fine job and it has torch mode to take care of night photos which gets over the flash problem, its also free on the app store.

true that, I'm thinking it should be very possible for an app to utilize an existing camera app to take the picture and then parse it, if background elements are an issue a crop tool can be built it. I'll look into it after this coming week and see if i can come up with something. Won't be perfect but it'll be better than nothing

Regarding barcode scanning... it is not as seemless as barcode scanner or google goggles, but I had good success with QR droid which can use an existing picture to read a barcode.

That's what I'm getting at, if its possible to read from an image then it should be possible to have your camera take a snap shot, save it has an ordinary image and then have an app interpret it. At least in theory, I don't know how feasable it is yet
I use this camera app from f-droid app store its free and open source and also works well with flash
https://f-droid.org/repository/browse/?fdfilter=camera&fdid=com.simplemobiletools.camera
Tried it with latest lineage os by ggow. Focus is fast and pictures are coming up great. There is no manual controls but this app is better than stock or Google camera app in my opinion anyway. Camera button also works to activate this app and to take snaps with. Developer also has gallery app in f-droid if you want to give it a spin.

The camera from F-droid is very limited and it does not work with flash. It works in a sense that flash can be permanently turned on and used as a light. The oppo camera however seems to work correctly. The only problem I encountered is switching between front and rear camera. Seems like usable camera to use when you need flash support. Otherwise open camera app is good and full featured app.

I find oppo camera good but pictures for not known reason turn out upside down - I really don't fancy switching them back manually.
Another good app is camera HDR. As mentioned in CyanogenMod description it just work well.
thanks. really nice. flash light photos works fine.

Time to take picture (camera launch speed)

There! Something just happened! Did you take a picture of it? Rate this thread to express how fast the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 can go from "zero to picture". A higher rating indicates that launching the camera app and taking a photo is extremely fast such that you never miss an important moment, like when your cat attacks the couch again.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
Instant you double tap home button camera launches take as many photos as fast as your thumb can tap. Instant superb photos.

neat thanks for the info!
Mine can be slow to show the image captured in gallery.
I just compared my Note 7 to my friends S7, both take picture almost instantly and then it takes about 1 sec to process and display for review (if you have that option turned on). Or you can keep button pressed and keep taking pictures, probably burst of 10 pics sec, maybe more. All this is on a par or better than my dedicated DSLR. The 1 sec review delay is completely irrelevant IMO to picture taking process and I may even turn it off at some point. I have no visible delay accessing pictures from gallery (but only 50 pics taken, there maybe slow down when I get thousands). If somebody complains about Note 7 camera, I think there maybe something wrong with their particular unit. Just to make sure: this is for rear mounted cam, I took 1 pic. with selfie cam, just to test it works and that just about as much usage as it will see. But just for the fact that it has fixed focus lens (I think), I wouldn't expect much from it.
As far as gallery goes, I don't like the way it sorts pics from all folders together, by date and can we finally have option to display names? Finding right video without name is sometimes impossible, but thankfully there is dedicated video gallery on Samsung website which solves that issue, but why not have just one gallery that works right.
