Bought one last month and mine has multi-user support in that you can add other users.. But apparently they have to download a separate copy of non core apps... Big waste of space IMO.. I want apps to be shared.. but the user settings from the Admin user is very limited.. You can 'add' and 'delete'.. but no custom settings that I can find.. -Jeff I have rooted mine.. so I have to look into whether my SD card is not accessible [where all my big apps are installed]..

It depends on which device you are looking at and which firmware it is running. The only firmware with multiuser available is the MK1 firmware for the wifi only Model (P600)

No Multi-User on MK1
I have mk1 with no multi-user (P600XXUBMK1)(TUR) stock fw

That surprises me. Maybe it also depends on the region. I think the us firmware has it built in

I have multi user on mine with MK1. I had an app that worked Better as far as settings go but it doesn't seem to work on this firmware yet I'm about to email the dev. It's called switchMe

see here. Thread already exists

Multi-user now also works on my Note 10.1 - 2014 using KitKat (SPAIN FW)
Now for all of you out there also waiting for the Multi-User option. I was waiting for it as well, but wasn't confident Samsung would include it in the 4.4 Stock update, and it was missing in the original 4.3 Stock FW. Excellent news, since the Multi-user option is now actually there in the KitKat 4.4 update for the SM-P600/WiFi/32Gb (as it is on my other tablet, the Sony Z2 Tablet, which was delivered with 4.4 from the start).
Please see thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=54072932 for more details and for KitKat 4.4 download locations and instructions.

I have multiuser support in my P605 4.4.

Cyanogenmod 11
Cyanogenmod 11 unofficial nightly has multi user, running 4.4.4...

Lol, worried your kids might see your pr0n?
Each profile is completely separate. The other users won't be able to see any pictures you have added to the device. Hope that helps.

my friend unfortunately the photo album not
disabled for the second user. appears in both accounts
in settings (user setting for limited programs) for the second user photo albums is disabled and I can not choose to not appear in other user. sorry for my English

Multi user is supported in the latest hyperdrive rom 4.4.2.
I'm pretty sure I had it on the stock rom 4.4.2 rom as well.
While each profile is different, you can save files to the extSDcard to share photos between users.
If you want to hide pictures, I recommend the Vault App, it's free.

Bonjour Nico,
I'm French myself.
Look at what happened to me yesterday...

I really wonder why you would want to upgrade to official 4.3...
But if you insist... If you want, we could exchange our phones
Hi Surfinette !
Nice to see a girl here !
Actually, I don't have my device rooted anymore since I bought my Samsung Note II,
- because I need it to be stock in order to get my business mails,
- because I understood I did not need it really... what for ? I can install all of the apps I want, I can develop my own apps with AIDE
- because I don't need my device to be running on a custom ROM as stock Samsung ROM already contains all options I need
...
So yes, I still would like to install this new 4.3 SAMMY's ROM, which I am waiting for so long...
However, I share your disappointment, regarding you needs and wishes

Yes. Hongkong 4.3 has been reported as the most stable for 4.3.
U can try it. Just remember that KNoX thing won't allow u to revert back to 4.1.2

You can ofcourse revert back to 4.1.2 or any other version - you will just loose the ability to run KNOX ever again.

Even if I didn't care for a custom Rom, I would want to be rooted, in order to use truly battery-saving apps, add-killing apps, kill some useless system bloatware, use a more efficient kernel, use a firewall to prevent many apps to connect to the internet against my will (and sending whatever data to whatever server without me knowing what they are sending behind my back),...

Thx for your fast feedback. I have a general problem with cyanogenmod 12.1. on my phone (sorry, Samsung s3 i9300)
4.3. stock works with nfc and mywallet, but 5.1.1 cyanogenmod not (tried to modify build.prop, but without success). Mywallet detect something, what is not 4.3 ( and this normally correct
But in my case i would like to use mywallet with 5.1.1 (which is by the way much more safer then 4.4 .....stagefright etc...).

I need to use stock. So i'm on Stock moded roms after Knox 0x1 and root - My Wallet works fine.

multi users without root?

Here at work we are gonna receive some Galaxy tab 3 10.1 tablets.
As known, the software on this tablet doesn't support multi-users. (android 4.2.2)
There is an app to do this (Multiple User Enabler or switchme), but this requires ROOT acces. I can't do that, because the tablet isn't mine. I don't want to take the risk to break it.
Does anyone know wich other options there are to do this?
Seen 3 multi-user apps and all require Root rights. I guess there's no option without root.

I'd be interested in a non root multiuser app for Tab10.1 aswell

It probably will never work without root!
It needes to change system files else you wont be able to switch anyhow...
The software doesnt support multi-user, so how would you want to change the software? Yup by rooting else you wont have access.

Multi user support galaxy tab 3 10.1

I was reading about the tab 3 update and it said it would include multi user support. I did the update and no multi user support.
Anyone have this working without rooting? It's the wife's tablet and don't want to mess with it too much

An Android Device Without Root is really hard to exploit and Modify.
And I have never seen Multi User support on Tab 3 10.1.
You could try a Xposed Module if you were rooted.
Good luck :good:

Not available in Galaxy apps
I'm running Nougat via Lineage, (thanks David Meuller!) and it is not compatible with the S-pen application from Samsung on the PlayStore. I would expect that we would need Touchwiz and that's a bit of an issue for a lot of us because it is a resource hog that keeps calling home.
Have you tried Squid? I don't know why it writes more cleanly, and with less lag, than Evernote.
