Official Facebook app in Windows store - Windows RT General

New to Windows store it says. Official Facebook app. Won't let me install it yet though.

And now it's not showing anymore. My windows store is going crazy slow too and sometimes not loading. They must be working on things for the 8.1 release

There were 3 or 4 apps claiming to be official facebook apps at one point

Actually there will be a Facebook app for Windows RT but it will only be available for 8.1:

Looks the same as the WP8 app. Most likely made by Microsoft as well.

Well, it does say published by Facebook inc., but does look virtually identical to wp8 app like you said.
Downloaded and installed just fine. Probably just swamped yesterday

The Windows Mobile Facebook App was a tragedy, so I doubt they'll do one for WP7.
And why should they, when there is an Official Facebook App.
An XDA Forum App would probably be most welcome, however!

Anyone know why Microsoft makes the Facebook apps for its platforms (Windows Mobile, Windows Phone 7)? They usually end up being pretty poor.
Android and iPhone have first-party apps from Facebook and thus get frequent updates, integrate the latest features, etc. WM had horrible FB support from Microsoft (the app just stopped working when FB updated the site, etc.), and the WP7 FB app is not the greatest either.

Google+ Hangouts.

Anyone know how to start a Google+ Hangout from the phone. I noticed Google heavily advertising the feature on ads for the phone I saw on YouTube.

Google plus hasn't been updated yet to support. Rumor has it, they will push out the updated app today.

The only way I've been able to is by JOINING a hangout. The app actually used to have a huddle button, but it got changed to messenger and not sure if it let you start a hangout or not. But I have seen the over advertisement for g+ hangouts when they should be showing off the phones features instead if an app
I don't know if there is a way to start a hangout via mobile. :-/

New Gmail

Has anyone seen the new Gmail that was supposed to drop this week?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Yep, if you're on a custom ROM you can get it through Gapps, otherwise just wait until it's finished rolling out. There's very little in the update, just a more Google Now-like card style for conversations and some other stuff most people probably won't even notice.
Yes - Google have been pushing it for a few days now and I read it will take around a week until everyone gets it.
Several Android sites had direct links to the apk on their mirror sites which is how I got it.

Earlyer, Google updates were available for all users allmost at the same time. But nowadays there are so many Android users, that they rollout updates over a longer time.
Just wait.
Loads of sites have the APK got mine from BeginnersTech http://www.beginnerstech.co.uk/gmail-for-android-updated-with-card-ui/
