[Q] Floating Keyboard Delay? - Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) Q&A, Help & Troubl

Anyone else have a delay when opening the floating keyboard? Compared to the normal keyboard, the floating one seems to take a bit longer to open. Any solutions? Besides not using it, of course.

Anyone?
Anyone else have this issue? I'm using the stock Samsung keyboard in the stock Web browser and when I select a text field, the keyboard has a much greater lag time when opening if I'm using the floating keyboard apposed to the regular, huge one. The floating one is awesome for using the stylus to swipe type as its smaller and I can just shove it over to the corner. Any thoughts? Alternatives? Thanks in advance!

Modifying keyboard keys?

Hi all,
I love my phone but I've come across an annoyance that I would like to fix. My thumbs are retarded and I constantly hit the period key instead of the spacebar. Does anybody know of any other keyboard or a way to adjust the size of individual keys? I'd like to make the spacebar wider and period key smaller, or get rid of the voice button and move the period key to the otherside of the spacebar. And yes, I have tried to adjust the way I type with it and re-calibrate the screen as well.
Thanks in advance.
I had the same problem. You can change keyboards. I'm currently using the Droid2 multitouch and I'm pretty happy with it once I got used to it. I think you'll probably need to be rooted but I'm not sure on that. Just look around and find other keyboards that are ported to the Incredible.

ICS keyboard

Does anyone know under the Advanced Settings in the ICS keyboard, what is "key popup dismiss delay"? I tried both options and didn't really notice anything.
Bump. No one knows what that is?
When you press a key on the keyboard, a larger blue letter pops up of the key you pressed.
With the delay set to no delay, the pop up disappears instantly. At default it hangs around for a split second. Its a subtle difference, but its there

Thanks! I was just wondering that too.

Ah, gotcha. It is incredibly subtle. Thank you.

Is there a way to make the stock landscape keyboard smaller?

I enjoy typing in landscape but find it annoying that the keyboard takes up the whole screen. I would like to see the text message before I hit send bit the only way I can see of doing that in landscape is by closing the keyboard after I type.

Click to collapse
If you use a keyboard like swiftkey from the app store, you can adjust the height of both portrait and landscape keyboards

Any way to get old multitaking sidebar bar, or move the current one?

I hate the new swipe based multi window that came with kitkat. Its really easy to hit by accident and it interferes with swiping actions from other apps, such as LMT pie controls and Dolphon Browsers side addons panel which are both accessible by swiping from the right. Can the old tabbed interface be bought back, or at least can the new one be changed to a left swipe?
Ive seen a way to change it to the other side but I dont remember how.

Anyone have a clue how you do this?

Floating keyboard has shrunk.... how to resize

I am using multi window and running two apps side by side. The app on the right side is office suite pro, which I use to enter text into my document. I am also using the s pen for data entry. I have selected the floating keyboard layout, but for some reason the floating keyboard has shrunk from its usual size and is much smaller to the point I can hardly enter text using the s pen. I used to have an extra 1 inch in width on my floating keyboard and I do not know why it has shrunk or if it is possible to resize. Thanks for any help. ...
