Multi User multi account ever being added? - Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) Q&A, Help & Troubl

Hey guys,
I was really hoping to see the Android 4.3 feature for multi users as on this device since it is running 4.3 out of the box. I do not see that feature anywhere. I read an article saying it would have it, and others that are saying it will not. Does anyone know for sure if this feature will ever be added in future updates? Or is there a reason Samsung is leaving it out on these touch wiz ran devices? Thanks, really crossing my fingers here.

TeamViewer QuickSupport app

TeamViewer release an app that allows remote control of your phone from your comptuer called QuickSupport. It says that it is only for Samsung phones and tablets.
The app stops itself from running on the Nexus. I contacted TeamViewer and they said that the Nexus isn't a Samsung device, it's a google device.
Does anyone know how liberate the program so it will work on the Nexus?

not sure whats stopping them but it looks like they want to offer it to other devices as well besides samsung.
as far as stock firmware its probably a security issue where if your phone has root access and someone say gets your teamviewer password they can technically login, go nuts with you phone, and brick it and all while you never realizing what just happened
Touchpad can do anything!

Got the apk from the development thread and flashed it on my CM9 Touchpad....and it works!! This is a tool i have been waiting for for a long time. Can finally answer/fix my father in law's issue without having to see him!!!
EDIT:
tried to flash it on my EVO 3D running MeanRom...it connects and everything looks good...but it only displays a black screen.

Yeah, it works on my TF201 with Team EOS JB but not my Toro with a custom ROM. Crazy.

[Q] Getting Android 4.2 Jelly Bean on Verizon

So by now we all know that Jelly Bean 4.2 has been released and has already been pushed to a lot of Galaxy Nexus devices around the globe. Myself, like many others, have a Galaxy Nexus on the Verizon network. I'm just as eager as anyone to get the 4.2 update but I do realize it's going to be a while before Verizon officially has the 4.2 update for us. What are my options as of now and the near future? Are there any ROMs I can use with the Verizon network and run 4.2? I'm currently running 4.1.1 JRO03O, so would I have to find a way to update to 4.1.2 before I could update to 4.2? Also, if I am able to find a ROM that will get me to 4.2, what features do I have to worry about losing? Many features of my phone I hold close, so I'd like full disclosure on which features could be compromised. I really appreciate your time for helping me!
Also, please be as detailed as possible with your responses - I imagine there are many others that view the forums like myself, looking for the answers to these questions without having to read through multiple 100+ page threads, finding answers bit by bit. A lot of people are running stock JB 4.1.1 on VZW network like myself and could benefit from these answers. Thanks so much guys!
go check the verizon dev forum. thats your best bet.

You could just flash the 4.1.2 Takju firmware then wait a couple of hours and recieve it, thats what I did and I recieved it within 2 hours if you are really impatient.

I appreciate the simplicity if your answers, but I've been in the Verizon dev forum for a while now. I continue to read through thread after thread, but I want definitive answers. Please link me to the threads in the Verizon dev forum of ROMs that would work for me please. I created this thread so that others who were in the same situation as me could find the answers they need quickly, without having to browse through the verizon dev forum for hours and still feel unsure about flashing a rom. Again, if you don't mind, just link me to some of the threads you feel are important in relation to my situation. I'm more than happy to read through the thread, every single page. I just want to have a little assurance in the ROM I'm loading onto my Nexus. I need to make sure I don't need to run a 4.1.2 ROM first or if I can go straight from 4.1.1 to 4.2. etc etc Thanks guys

so you want to be spoonfed because you cannot read the title of the threads?
if you're replacing the system (which you are if you're flashing a rom) it doesnt matter what version you were on.
there are a couple 4.2 ROMs out already. they are all a little finnicky. my suggestion is to wait a couple days for the bugs to be worked out. as far as i know, some of the things not working last i checked was.
google location, go Google Now isn't working
photosphere was crashing in the gallery (although i was able to use it just now)
swype typing was not working (i have a 4.2 transformation package that i flashed and got it working)
overall, it is pretty stable with very few issues.
as for features missing from what you currently have or want, i dont know. its just Stock android 4.2 for right now.
lock screen widgets
photosphere
quick settings
new clock app
new Google apps (calendar, gmail with pinch to zoom ect)
its all there.
Flash CM10, it has a built in update checker so you will be good to go when they drop a 4.2 nightly.
Thanks for all the information! I guess I'll wait a week or so and see which ROM is out at that point and has the best reviews for stability and functionality. And yes, I can read the thread titles... but when you click on thread after thread and they were all started MONTHS ago, they aren't much help for an update that came out days ago. And also, none of the thread titles say anything about 4.2... sure, they say JB, but JB is 4.1.1, 4.1.2 and 4.2 so that doesn't help much either. That's why I asked. Also because in the VZW development forum it says DONT ASK QUESTIONS so... where else would I go? Isn't that the point of a Q&A forum? To answer questions and not go around being a smart ** to people just looking for help? Like seriously?

[Q] Are we going to have Official 4.1.2?

There is not even a leak?
I'm curious that whether Samsung will give American users a 4.1.2 update or not

doesn't seem like there's multiwindow though, hope that feature will be there in the official releases.

I think for most of the users the update is meaningless without multiwindow

FitBit Sync Support for CyanogenMod 10.0/10.1 or any AOSP ROMS

Hi all
I might be the only one using this constellation but I have a fitbit one tracker that should support i9300 Bluetooth synching. It looks like this support is limited to official Android 4.1.2 ROMs or any adaptions of those. CyanogenMod ROMs do not work. Anyone got a 10.0 or 10.1 nightly for the i9300 running with their FitBits ?
Same here. Fitbit sync worked with stock and also worked with SynergyROM but doesn't work with CM10.
I am having the same issue. My question is does the CM10 not support low-power Bluetooth (4.0)? Or is the Fitbit app checking the phone version somehow. If the latter is the case, we should be able to forge the signature on the phone config to be a standard GS3.
What do you think?
Updates?
also wondering this - put liquidsmooth on parents' gs3s and now theyre complaining
I would also like to see support for this, especially on the S3.

I'll just chime in with my agreement - it would be nice to see this working for my fitbit and my VZW GS3 running CM 10.1
+1 Here
Same issues already described.+1 to see support for GS3. Any guidance would be appreciated.
Me as well! Really desperate for this!
Same here
Doesn't work for me either
Yeah, bummed that Fitbit One doesn't work for me either on cyanogenmod.

+1 for this fix, I love the FitBit App on my stock Samsung Galaxy S3 (TMO) and would love to have the syncing working on CM. I'm running 10.2-20130401-NIGHTLY-d2tmo right now.
Bump for the inclusion of BT 4.0 driver stack into CM.
FITBIT
It's April 19th and still no response for support???
Hi Guys,
I love CM but I've also been running a stock derivative so I can sync my Fitbit One. I'm not familiar with Androids insides, but wouldn't it be possible for Fitbit to implement their own Bluetooth stack in software and bypass the stock stack for syncing. I realise you would still need a device with Bluetooth 4.0 hardware, but theoretically there would be many other handsets that could then sync, not to mention all of us modders out there. If this is possible, then perhaps we could ask Fitbit for support.
Nothing useful with this post, i just wanted to say that I would also like this to possibly happen in the future. I know the next android update 4.3 is bringing this feature, so perhaps it may not be long at all..

+1 for possible fix/workaround. Would be nice to get the sync with the Fitbit Flex back - great feature, shame to lose it on non-stock ROMs.

[Q] has anyone got the samsung firmware update?

I stopped by the other S4 forum (i9500/i9505) and noticed users reporting a new firmware update. Some mentioned faster transitions and camera updates as well as some other things.
Has anyone got a Ota of this? Or would we (T mobile) not get it?
Also wondering... if your rooted, would you even get a notification about it?
Thnx

The firmware of the international version is not the same as firmware released by carriers. Carriers add a lot of stuff to their firmware and they do their own testing on them. It may take months for a carrier to release an update after the international version got it.
Since this is a new phone, I am sure T-Mobile will eventually release an update (most likely several updates). Just be patient.

I found a website that has manual firmware updates for the different variations, but unfortunately I didn't save it. It's out there though, just Google it and I'm sure you'll run across it like I did, sorry couldn't be more assistance, if I find it again I'll post the link.
Edit: Okay I found it quicker than I thought I would, lol. Here's the link, hope it helps:

Thanks for the clarification and info guys.
Definitely patient.. I dont have many issues w my s4 except home key timing, so I was hoping for fix.
Maybe some one can take a look at new firmware and see if there is any info within that could benefit our (tmo) devices?
I would do it but im not as proficient and knowledgable as some of our other members.

I have the i9500 and got the update a few days ago. The description from the update manager was "improved stability" which means they are ironing out the kinks. Another thing that is going to be updated and will surely be on your variant is locked kernels. This is a kernel level that blocks superuser from even executing code. Workarounds will have to be found/kernels compiled.

if you're referring to the home button lag, then just disable s voice like everybody else did, even back in the days of the S3. go into the s voice app and hit the settings button on lower left of your phone, then tap settings, then un-check the 2nd option "open via the home key".
as far as updates, t-mo is usually the 1st or 2nd carrier to get it in the US, but nothing yet. i'm hoping they'd fix the camera shutter lag that i love from the old s3. sigh...
