CM 10.2 20131018 ROM Calling Issues - LG Optimus G Pro

Hey guys, I'm sorry if this topic has already been addressed but I flashed a cyanogenmod ROM off of ROM Manager and the phone app isn't working. Everything else on the phone works but whenever I try to make a call or answer one I can't hear anything and the person on the other end can't hear me as well. Right now I just flashed back to a backup of a stock Rom. Is anyone else encountering the same issues? If so is there a way to fix it?

Problems with mic

Okay, so im on the latest unofficial cm10.1(not rox's one but the other one) and mf1 .
I have been having some problems with my mic. When using my microphone in calls or when using Google voice search nothing seems to be wrong. However the problem comes when I try to record some audio using an app. Te mic does not record anything at all. All I get is total silence. The mic isn't working what seems to be the problem ? Can some one help

all others cm10.1 project have been stopped! There is no more progress and there are still many bugs on them.
If you want a bugfree cm then take the cm 10.1 from Rox or if you love to be up to date then the cm 10.2

I'm using LG E988, Official CM11 latest nightly-build (Android 4.4.2), and I can't hear anything while in-call by Viber. In Dialer/Phone is ok.
I have to press Speaker button to listen and answer
Anyone using E988 + CM11 have this issue?

I have the exact same issue. 2 weeks ago I lost my viber sound on a different rom, I did fresh installs of this rom, and one other, and the problem still exists. The speaker works in the app but no ear peace.
I'm on the same boat. The only work-around is to switch on the speaker phone so that i can hear the other end. Hope they can fix it.

well, not only viber, it also happened on Skype. Google Voice typing also crashed. I'm currently on cm10.2 E980 stable version.
is that only specific to E988 devices?
solved!
I had an old titanium backup from october and installed app+data from that I think it was 4. something, but it definitely was not the newest, and I have audio now in viber. So it was the last update that gave us our problems. I am also using art as well.
welcome.

Microphone issues with ROMS

I've been able to flash my phone with various roms without issue. But on all but one my phone mic doesn't work. When I call people, they can't hear me. The funny thing is that the speakerphone works fine. The only Rom that allows the mic to work correctly is slimrom 4.3. Any ideas?

Recipients can't hear me in phone calls

I just flashed Carbon 4.3 last night, and when making phone calls, the recipients can barely hear me. This has been an issue on a few ROMs I've flashed, but I do not know how to resolve it. I've tried searching, but can't find anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

That's a well known issue with custom roms for opgpro. That usually happens if the custom rom you've installed is intended for a different model (i.e., using a rom for e980 on F240x model).
If you're on T-Mobile, there's an audio fix.zip that keeps popping up. I dig the name BTW

I make sure to never install ROMs for anything besides the E980 (which is the model I have). I've browsed the Carbon release thread for the ROM, and it doesn't seem to be an issue for anyone else. I was wondering if there are configs or files I can transfer over from PAC-ROM 4.3 that would fix the issue (I do not experience the audio problem with PAC)? Also to be noted, I'm running on AT&T service, not T Mobile (there seems to be a somewhat similar issue with the T Mobile OG Pro's, but the fix doesn't apply to my device).

Ya. Figured I'd ask. Well... I've never had anything like that. You should try out 4.4 though. Might make a difference.

Thanks, my name is actually an album title by Insect Warfare. And I don't have this issue with all 4.3 ROMs, only a few. Others are fine. The only reason I avoid 4.4 is because of the major lack of customization features. It kinda sucks for me cause I don't use PIE or Halo, and I figure porting those over to 4.4 is taking the spotlight. I'm a sucker for color customization and all of the tiny little tweaks, which will probably get ported last, hah.
garbled voice with 4.4 ROMs on T-mobile
I have the same issue on T-mobile. Using any 4.4 ROM results in my voice fading in and out during the call. ROMS based on stock work fine.
I have tried the kitkat in-call audio fix, and it does not help.
I think the problem is due to the noise cancelling microphone on top of the phone. If I cover up the small hole at the top with my finger during a call, the voice quality gets a little better, but still very faint.
Anyone know how to disable the top microphone?

Handset Mic volume still low?

Several months ago I loaded up a CM based rom and found out when talking to people on the phone, they couldn't hear me. It was fine when using the headset cable and possibly Bluetooth.
I've looked all over CMs website but I can't find whether it's still an active bug or if it's fixed.
Does anyone know if this is fixed?

Good question. I dont know either.

I believe u have to add or replace this in your build.prop
persist.audio.handset.mic.type=digital --> replace digital with analog
persist.audio.dualmic.config=endfire -- replace endfire with false
Since i changed it i haven't had any complaints so far but flashing to new nightly makes it revert again, keep that in mind.

I'm running the latest nightlies and it is still an issue. I'm usually using speaker or a headset. Going to try the build.prop edit above. Aside from that, I've been pretty happy how CM is running.
Update: the build.prop edits fix the in call mic problem. Big thanks JustinNL, this was a headache for me!
