[Mod] Restore Power Saver - Verizon HTC One (M7)

If you are stock Sense ROM and you want power saver in the toggles use a root explorer and go to:
system/customize/CID/default.xml
Carefully remove:

1

1

reboot
I made a backup first. Not responsible if this jacks up your phone.
Pull down the notification bar, click on the toggles and there it is, power save.

You could also probably put a 0 where the 1 is to turn hide off.

I sure wouldn't want to steal anyone's thunder, Andy. Could you point me to his post? I don't see how I missed it, I've been crawling the Verizon HTC One forum since this thing was released. I kept seeing the "Verizon took out Battery Saver, here's Qualcomm's solution: Snapdragon™ BatteryGuru" floating to the top in the themes and apps, so I thought I'd post this mod.
If it is sure enough a dupe, mods please delete.

Thanks, man. These things are toys to me, a sometimes relaxing hobby, my platform is mainly Windows. If this were a batch file I'd just REM in front of a line I wanted to ignore. Wasn't sure what changing something would do. I made sure I had a current backup before I pulled the trigger.

Dunno. I know after the mod and a reboot, power save showed up in the toggles and seems to work. When I click it, screen dims for instance. If you touch the dots, you get the screen with the three choices, CPU power, display, and vibration. All seem to work. You don't see it in settings and you don't see the big ugly icon in the notification bar, but I like this better.

I would also like to add something. Would you mind to make more specific topic headers? Not like "Something new" that isn´t really new and was implemented into the ROMs since Gingerbread.
So please do not open your next thread with "Another new thing i found" ---> Can you imagine? The phone has WiFi build in.
It´s nice you are discovering your phone, but it´s not necessary to share every single discovery here with such meaningless headers.
Better ask by naming the header the way that everyone knows to which problem this topic is related.

Bro, after reading your post then I've realized about his function.
Thx for your sharing ! :good:

Menu's opening at the top not the bottom.

I know it has something to do with the overflow menu, but is a way to make the menus open at the bottom instead of the top? every other android device I've had has opened the menu at the bottom not the top.
It actually depends on the app. If you press the menu key when on the homescreen, the menu appears at the bottom. If you do it on the Play Store, it appears at the top.
If you want all the menus to appear at the bottom, you have to change a value in the build.prop.

Anybody got any other Ideas on how to get this working?
So far the only Rom that actually has this setup is PACman
which is an awesome Rom, don't get me wrong but it's just a little too much for me
My favorite rom thus far is SlimBean so if anybody can get this to work right please let me know.

Disable Touch Key Backlight on Google Edition

I hope someone can help me out with this (I guess most of my posts arent worth bothering with as they usually go untouched by anyone). I'm trying to figure out a way to disable the touch button backlight on a Google Edition ROM. I have been searching for an answer since the Google Edition hit. All I can ever find is how to disable on GSIII ROMs (non ge). If anyone can please help me out I would very much appreciate it. Thanks!

Screen Filter is an app that can disable the backlight of the softkeys. Set it to auto-start at boot and you should be good. I know its not a direct fix but its a low impact app that shouldnt effect battery life or operation.

There are options to do this in AOKP and CM roms. Anybody know how those builds pull it off?

There are definitely apps on the Play Store that can superimpose softkeys on the screen at the bottom, if you really don't like the capacitive ones.

I believe it edited the build prop so it was navigation buttons, not superimposed.
The reason I was trying to get the navigation buttons back by the way was because the capacitive stopped working.

It might be bootlooping because if you try to enable a feature (in the build prop) that isn't on the device (the actual system files), it can't boot up correctly.

That's most likely the case, I was just getting frustrated and installed the app without thinking, oh well.
I just want the navigation bar because, at least from my experience, most apps that superimpose the buttons are never the same. They won't appear at boot, interfere with the keyboard, and require a gesture to make them appear.
Doesnt gravity box have an option? Never tried it though.. just saying it might work.
i saw someone doing this but cant remeber where. Look in the develompent forum or in Google+ asus zenui beta development
I've been using this app for the last two years. I can highly recommend it.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2270198
Install LP xposed, and LP gravity box, go to "navigation bar tweaks" and tick "master switch" "enable navigation bar" and soft reboot done =]
You have to edit the correct build.prop in /system/ that corresponds to your Zenfone 2 model.
If you have the same model as me (WW/64GB/4GB RAM/2.3GHz), you need to edit build.ze551.dual.2p3GHz.prop
If you look through my posting history, you'll see me offer a link to a guide on doing it, link also includes info on disabling the capacitive buttons. On mobile so can't look through myself. Cheers.

Remove Battery Percentage in notification centre?

Just made the switch from iOS (iPhone 11) to a S20 Ultra, I hate battery percentages. I have removed it from the notification bar but when I swipe down to see my notifications it appears again.
Any way to remove this without rooting?
Thanks

Unreal how some of you folks get heated so quickly and can't seem to behave. Let's be clear on one thing, name calling and or personal attacks have no place here. We will shut that down very quickly and that's the end of that. If you find yourself getting worked up just scroll on or log off and go do something else.
With that said this thread is past it's best before date and is no longer helpful.
