Note 3 Keyboard Apk for use on LG Optimus Pro G - LG Optimus G Pro

Any try using the Samsung Note 3 keyboard on the LG Optimus Pro G? Anyone have the Apk available to share?

Is it better?

I have owned the Note 1 and Note 2. The size of the keyboards on the Samsung Note Series is pretty much just right. the default LG Optimus Pro G keyboard is a little to small and there is not good key spacing. my friend has the Samsung Note 3. the keyboard does seem to be once again the right size and good spacing. right now I am using the SwiftKey beta (download able from the SwiftKey beta public website). the size has now been updated for bigger devices and u can just the size. SwiftKey still has the best prediction capabilities. I just like the size and key spacings on the Note 3 keyboard. would like to download the Apk to try it out on the LG Optimus Pro G.

Any luck finding it?
Yeah i'd agree theres something wrong with the spacing. I type horribly on this considering the size. Mostly i type a . instead of a space lots of times.

Even if the apk were around somewhere, or extracted from a Samdung ROM, there's not much chance it would work, because typically, Samdung apps require Touchwiz libraries to function.

didnt know that. thanks.

Try copying the apk to /system/app and correct the permissions then reboot. Haven't tested this with this app, specifically, but it's worked fine with other apps that wouldn't install.

Probably depends on touchwiz framework, as usual.

Running tablet versions of apps

What do you guys think about having tablet versions of apps installed, like the Chrome, gmail, netflix apps from the nexus 7 etc? I think some of those apps would be great for the note's 2 screen size.

If you are rooted, you can achieve this by editing a line in your build.prop
Screen density, i believe--- change it from 320 to 160, reboot, and clear your Play data and voila, your phone now thinks its a tablet.
I haven't tried this out, myself, but if you have any issues, just change the value back to what it was originally, and clear the market data again.
This is why im hoping someone ports paranoid over

I tried to install an .Apk file for the tablet version of sketchbook pro. And while it worked the screen only showed the very middle of the window. So if there was a way to get the app to resize itself without changing the build.prop file that would be nice too. I'm not rooted either.

Hopefully there will be some way to get Sketchbook Pro running on these. I sold my old tablet (Lenovo ThinkPad) to order the Note 2 and for some reason didn't think about if Photoshop Touch or Sketchbook Pro would run on them. :C

Stock keyboard doesn't have autocorrect..?

Has anyone else realized that the stock keyboard that comes with the s4 doesn't autocorrect your words unless you use Swype. It sucks because this is the first keyboard which I actually like -_-
yeah samsung killed it there I loveeee the keyboard but the autocorrect is just not there which is beyond sad to me.
Sent from my SGH-M919 using xda premium
Yeah same here. I love the keyboard its just that the autocorrect isnt there.
Sent from my SGH-M919 using xda app-developers app
Actually the absence of auto correct is not Samsung's fault. It's the result of Apple law suit last year and in the end consumers, you and I, are at loss. One of the several reasons I will never stand for this evil company (Apple).

Yeah its a shame. I love the Samsung keyboard, especially having the row of numbers up top, but I can't do without auto correct, so I'm just using Jelly Bean keyboard from the Play Store.
But if there is an international version with auto correct I'd love to get my hands on it.

My Canadian version has auto correct. Here's the apk and the odex file. It's not a flash able zip. Just both files zipped . You will have to manually out it into system/app and give it proper permissions. Make sure you make a back up first ! Hopefully it works. Let me know.

That file is different from what's on Tom S4 and it doesn't install. You supposed to be able just move the file and fix permisions but kb not getting installed. Perhaps some dev can fix this.

Give 590 a try for the DPI. As I wait for my G3 to arrive I've been reading up on changing the DPI on the phone as that will be the very first thing I do after rooting. I've been reading around that people have been testing anywhere from 500-650 with mixed results but 590 seems to be the perfect sweet spot in getting everything to look the proper size without losing any functionality.
If I had my phone I'd try it. But if someone wants to go ahead and give it a go, I'd be curious to hear about the results from you guys.
I'm using 530. Perfect for me. Followed setting from G2 where I went from 480 to 400 (17% decrease)

Good deal. Nothing is broken for you at this setting?
If using stock launcher any DPI but stock 650 will cause apps to FC when opened. Plus it'll green Android some of the LG Apps like contacts, phone, camera etc. Works fine on Nova and Apex just not stock.
