Looking for a car dock - General Accessories

I have a 2013 Civic Si and a 2013 Elantra. Both cars have a lower power outlet. I have seen car docks that basically plug into this and convert the power outlet to micro USB so I can just drop in my phone to charge and use it for music/GPS as I drive. Can someone guide me in the direction of one on Amazon?

I'm a huge fan of Arkon Slim Grip mount, reviewed here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2174449
What is cool, you can use it with any phone up to Note 3 size (and of course your S4) and any 7"/8" tablets. Plus, it uses universal ball joint connection on the back. Which means you can use it with included sticky suction mount for dashboard or windshield, AND get Arkon light socket mount like this: http://www.amazon.com/Arkon-Universal-Lighter-Socket-Smartphones/dp/B002IVU3I8/ or like this: http://www.amazon.com/Arkon-GN097-Lighter-Socket-Garmin/dp/B000BP8GQO/ which is going to set you as an extra mounting option for under $10. Been using Arkon stuff for many years with my Droid X, Note 2, and Nexus 7 - top quality.
Btw, you will need to get car charger for that for micro-usb output. Or perhaps if you get their latest IntelliGrip one (which is Slim Grip Ultra with NFC built in chip) - it also comes with car charger: http://www.amazon.com/ARKON-NFCSM02-Programmable-Powered-Dock/dp/B00E5QAM58/

Recommendations on Car Dock for Extended Battery?

Just wondering if anyone has had any luck with a car dock for the extended battery? I have a universal dock and it doesn't fit at all and keeps falling out. Suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Edit:
Found this. I think it supports the extended battery, but it doesn't look like it'll work well with a case.

Why use an extended battery in the car when you can just plug it in?

Perhaps he wants to take his phone with him when he leaves his car (and wants/needs an extended battery for when he's not able to plug it in). It's actually very common that people keep their phone with them, whether or not they're in the car. Maybe you don't drive, so you don't know that.
By having a car cradle which worked with an extended battery, he wouldn't have to carry two batteries and swap between them every time he got in or out of his car.

Haha, thanks.
I just facepalmed his response and continued on....
The official HTC car dock kit supports the extended battery and it would be difficult to find a higher quality dock for this phone.
Is this what you're talking about? It claims "This car kit can not be used with HTC Thunderbolt extended battery. It only work with a standard battery on your HTC Thunderbolt." Maybe you could show me what you're talking about?
The rocketfish mp3 car mount works great, it has two adjustable jaws that you tighten to hold the device. It will hold anything up to about two inches deep and the jaws leave enough room to plug in the power cable and audio jack. It costs about $20 and it comes in two versions. Both versions come with the suction cup window mount but one has a vent clip and the other has a bike mount.
I have one of these in both cars. Just use a cig - double USB charger and the usb cable to charge the TB. Kept the TB solid in the cradle all the way from Michigan to Florida.

I use the 415 model, it's a bit larger, and fits the phone in a case better..

My Car Dock with MicroUSB Charger

I have been using this since captivate days, fits perfect near the gear where I rest my hand and change folders and use gestures. I got a separate holder for GPS as well.
I got is from http://www.dealextreme.com/c/cellphone-device-holders-704 but can't find the same piece, but they keep adding more
Nice setup you got there. I got a similar holder but it clips in the ac vent above the stereo. I like it a little higher, it seems easier to see when I'm driving.
i am currently making a USB/Audio out cable (testing for S3)
Micro usb trigering car dock mode allowing charging and audio out. (can make them for Home dock mode so you can stream pandora on wifi and charge at same time
then may make a few and sell them as i have a bunch of bulk micro usb connectors and 619k resistors and 832tc Epoxy (explosive Proof LOL)
i would just need more usb and stereo cables
How many people would want one PM me, so i can gauge interest
im thinking with time involved and testing ea and such low volume $25.00 Ea. (plus 2ish for shipping) made the way 2nd post (with that y cable vs a usb and audio cable)
www.fdcv1.com is my design (circuit board and casing and layout of all parts etc) and built in house (not best example of my work but most public)
How high can you extend the dock?
I'll be using one of these when it gets delivered,

excellent item, fits perfectly and my samsung s3 fits perfectly without sliding, i really like this product.
EverDock
I came across fuzdesigns[dot]com which is very stable while driving and do not have to find cables to plug every time you are in a car

Car mounts

I'm looking to buy a new car mount for my Galaxy S8+. Currently I have a 5 year old Brodit car mount that can be flexible in size, but the downside is that it's very shaky and loose.
I've been looking into the force touch charger car mount from Mophie because of the magnetic attachment, but it can only be used with their battery case and I don't need such a bulky case.
Can any of you recommend a good car mount?
I had an iBolt mPro I was using with my previous phone and it worked pretty solid. I just ordered the cPro (which has the USB-C connector built in) and I'll let you know how it works out.
I like the iottie holders since you can put it in and take it out with one hand. However i'm looking at this new one which also includes wireless charging while in the holder.

What do you mean by new? Seems to have come out in 2015 .. I'm also thinking about purchasing but seems old for a couple month old phone. Has anyone tried it? I'm hoping to be able to charge while the phone is in use. I have a 1.5 amp USB in the car which I hope is enough.

You can get a fast charger though I've noticed mine is sensitive to heat, doesn't take much for it to start slowing down charging (and warning you about it)
If you are looking for magnetic attachment, I suggest you look at xvida magnetic mounts. They offer a magnetized cover for S8 which would allow you to use their regular magnetic car docks as well as their line of qi car docks. I've tested their cases for S7 edge & charging desk stand and charging vent mount and they work great. Slight overheating with the car docks though, which can be expected but like I said, they have various standard magnetic car docks if that's a concern. No problems with overheating with their desk charger if you are on the market for a charging stand as well.
HANDS DOWN the best case/mount combo is made by Evutec. The cases themselves are precisely cut and essentially indestructible, all while containing a thin metal insert to work with their vent mount (make sure you get one that comes with the mount). Theyre relatively inexpensive on Amazon for the quality of case you get. They typically only make iPhone cases, but fortunately make them for the S8 and S8+.
The only caveat is that they don't play nice with wireless charging. I guess this could be a big downside for people that love the wireless charging, but I charge by a cable and don't own a wireless charge pad so its all good.

Recommend Car Charger

What VPA/Car charger do you guys recommend for the Note 10?
Thanks
Bump
yeah I'm looking for a good one that will charge like the 45watt wall charger. does something like that exist?
What about this?
I bought one of these last winter for my note 8. Shouldn't it work well?

I'm probably not the only person who traded in their Google pixel for this phone. I have the Belkin recommended 15 watt charger from my pixel days, I'm assuming that would give a underwhelming performance.
Belkin USB-C Car Charger with Hardwired USB-C Cable (4ft/1.2m / 15 Watt) for Samsung Galaxy S10, S10+, S10e, Google Pixel 3, Nintendo Switch and More https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01GUVNHY8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apap_tIW8gXnwDmzNP
Fast car charger
I purchased the Vanmass from Amazon... when I purchased it, it was about $39, which is a little pricey, but it works great!
It's two side arms automatically close when you press your Note 10 or Note 10+ against the back of the charger. Charger attaches securely to your air vents, so there's no need to use suction cups. It also has two clear legs which support your phone, and they display red lighting when you first insert your phone, and the lighting changes to blue when it begins to charge, making it very easy to quickly see if your phone is being charged or not!
The mount also has a built in battery, so unlike some other "automatic close/open" car mounts, this one doesn't stop working when you shut your car off! It charges the battery inside the phone mount, so even if you turn your car off before removing your phone, you can still tap one of the two buttons on either side of the car mount, and the plastic side grips will automatically open for you, to make removing of your phone a breeze!
Well built, quality...
One negative... it doesn't come with a car charger that goes in the cig lighter, so you'll need to pick up a fast charger as well... I found one for about $8.
What about:

The updated Vanmass car charger comes with the lighter adapter and after the 30% coupon, it came to $42
Doesn't the Note10+ support PD3.0 up to 25W(45 with PPS enabled devices)?

Do these still allow wireless charging? I am a total wireless charging user and am looking for something, preferably magnetic that still allows wireless charging.

I use this one but you'll have to charge with a cable or get a cradle that does wireless charging.

I bought this one and have it mounted on my dash currently. It works but getting the device in and out is a PITA. Does not have wireless charging so I use a car charger and cable and plug it into the AUX for the car with the splitter

Anyone find one with the cup holder
I bought car and driver and then supplemented the cradle with a headrest tablet mount
I got this one from Amazon. My wife suggested it and I was a little suspicious because it was significantly cheaper than the ones I saw recommended. Everytime I use it I'm reminded of why I married her . Doesn't feel cheap at all and keeps the phone VERY secure. I would 1000% recommend. The only thing I would add is that if you are going to mount it high on the dash or from a window, make sure your charger is long enough to reach it because it's not a wireless charging mount.
