Thanks,
File is now uploaded and in the download section
EDIT
There seems to be a problem ATM. There are links to the mega site where the .zip is in the instructions, but I will try and reupload to the xda server again later tonight

You messed something mate.
You said - flash ROM via CWM but you provided ftf file so I guess there's no need for that step or?!
It would mean we should flash ROM two times, from CWM and from flashtool....?

Great idea, I really need stock, unchanged 257 firmware (rooted) but please, fix this or give us proper instructions.
Tnx
EDIT:
On PC download links are visible

Thanks for the replies and the interest.
1) There is a link to the download in the download section at the top of the project. See the screen shot. However the .zip file can also be found here
2) The instructions are correct. You have to flash the .zip in recovery and root it using the superSU .zip. Then before rebooting flash the 257 ftf to install the 257 kernel etc. You exclude system because you want to keep the rooted system you just flashed in recovery. The ftf has to be flashed in flashtool.
3) Anyone can flash the ftf from any region. If you want to keep your basedand etc, then just exclude system and baseband in flashtool. If you want to flash a FTF of your region though you can flash any FTF and just exclude system.
4) I am currently uploading a direct link to the rom in the download section.

Recovery for locked bootloaders is not included to rom? I have to install recovery again after flashing?

Yes. I have made this as stock as possible for people. I will start including more in the next release.
But you can download dual recovery from here and reinstall it

OK, I have put a link in the instructions and also in the post a few above this one.
I will work on the download section as well.

yes, but you will have rooted rom, so you can uninstall it.
I will provide a bloatfree rom soon, but ATM people are after a stock rom with root so that is what I have provided.
In a few days it will be deodexed, bloatware free, etc etc/..

Error
When I flashed it, I got a status 7 error of some sort, just after that, I re-flashed it and it worked perfectly fine until it came time to boot the phone, I followed the instructions given thoroughly multiple times and came out with the same error again and again.

strange, status 7 is to do with the updater script, but it worked fine for me. Also, what exactly happened when you came to reboot the phone?
Can I ask what version of recovery you have installed?

Strange Problem With ARC LT15i.

I was installing Custom Rom to Stocked LT15i with (Bootloader Status Allowed = YES) phone And i faced a strange problem that I never faced before. Below is detail of my problem
1. I Installed Stock 4.0.4 Stock ICS Firmware Via Flashtool before it was on same 4.0.4 but its was updated via PCC.
2. I Try to unlock its bootloader from official site i got the key and try to unlock but Fastboot command said its already unlocked bootloader. So I head to next step.
3. I rooted it with Prerooted kernel image. name ARC Autoroot v1 its worked fine.
4. I installed ClockWorkMod Recovery 5.0.2.7-nAa-r2 via batch command provided but a user in this section. worked fine.
5. Now Problem is Any Custom rom i want to install from CWM its give me (satus 7) eroor. I preceded steps 1 to 5 again n again but same error.
6. I tried all the solution for Error status 7 provided by user but no luck. like build.prop and removing some script.
one thing i noticed its IMEI start with 01 m not sure it is the cause. Let me know what is the easiest way to install custom rom to it. Its belong to my friend.
(I am able to flash any kernel )

Not sure what you've been searching for - status 7 error xperia arc
You need to flash compatible kernel for the custom ROM you are trying to flash. For example, when you download CM10 ROM, kernel boot.img is included in that rom zip. First we install compatilbe kernel(boot.img in case of CM10) and install rom zip from CWM.
Download and install CM 10 just to make sure you are doing it right. But first flash kernel first.

My goal is to flash a new firmware on my xperia s and have it rooted.
I am not quite sure which steps i need to take in which order to do that. I would be very greatfull if someone could tell me the steps i have to take.
I will look for the guides here but i need to know what when to do.

First of all don't panic!
Grab any .55 firmware and install it with FlashTool, when installation is finished don't turn on the phone, disconnect it and hold Volume UP button so it boots in Fastboot mode, then in FlashTool click FLASH then select fastboot and press Flash Kernel > flash this one (Download) When it's over just turn on your device as normal and you will have .55 with Root & Recovery. Good Luck
BEFORE INSTALLING KERNEL UNRAR THE PACKAGE YOU NEED ONLY .elf File.
Just Select elite.elf when choosing kernel to flash.
Attached KERNEL is by RaymanFX.
Thank your for the quick answer.
Do i first need to unlock my bootloarder?
Which firmwares can i install with that kernel?

Hello @schpongo,
I'd Certainly Help You Out.
First of AlL, What You Need Is
1. Unlocked Bootloader - http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/
2. Rooted Device - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2133063
3. Installing CWM Recovery. I prefer RecoverX - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1773227
And As My Friend In Above Post Said. Do Not Panic. It Takes Patience. And lots of waiting time.
Till one process is complete do not try to unplug or close anything. Its easy when you do things very calmly.
Ok Now for Available ROMS - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1950706
If you require suggestions regarding flashing roms I'd advice you to start with TEAM FXP ROMS - Cyanogen Mod 10

I Solved the Problem partly by using the flash tool to get back the stock os.
You can use the Flash tool to flash the boot.img file in the phone. It's really simple then manually doing it. I am on phone so can not provide you the link. Please use the search button on how to flash boot. Img using flash tool. Looping in boot is because the boot.img was not flashed properly. Use the flash tool to do it. I too had the same problem when I first flashed but soon found out the problem. Reply back if everything works..

CM 10 is a really good Rom with Stable recovery.
You can even download other ROMS of Build NOZOMI - (Code Name For Xperia S) eg Slim Bean build 5 Nozomi JB 4.2.2
And directly flash it from CWM recovery.

Yes, Unfortunately For This Purpose There is A Need for a little knowledge of Titanium Back Up.
It Will Bring All Your Settings Messages And Apps Back Without Any Modifications. Or loosing it.

You Always ,

2 Cache /data /sysytem
3 Dalvik Cache

[How-To][Tutorial] Downgrade Kit Kat 4.4.2 to JB 4.1.2

Hi,
I am just writing these steps to help those who want to downgrade from KK to JB due to any reason. Please use these steps at your own risk.
Some Background:
Recently I updated my Razr M to KK, it was Locked and Unrooted, but with the help of Twelroot and Motopocalypse I rooted and unlocked the BL.
Now somehow I didn't like the KK and wanted to go back to JB 4.1.2 because I was now having unlocked BL and rooted phone so it was easy but need to follow some steps to successfully downgrade to JB. So an unlocked BL and rooted with KK is must.
Prerequisite:
USB drivers for Razr M must be installed before proceeding.
Steps:
1. download the firmware file [Android 4.1.2
Blur_Version.98.30.1.XT907.Verizon.en.US] from http://sbf.droid-developers.org/phone.php?device=8
2. extract the above archive and replace the XML file with the one in attachment.
3. put the phone into fastboot mode and flash the firmware with RSD Lite (attached)
4. reboot and now you have JB 4.1.2
If you want to install root application again and also want to flash custom recovery then please follow the Post#5 [ATTACK] (thanks ATTACK)
Note : for custom recovery you will need the fastboot.exe if you don't have it then install minimal_adb_fastboot_v1.1.3_setup.exe(attached).
Put the phone in fastboot mode, copy the recovery to c:\ and execute the below command :
fastboot flash recovery [Path to recovery image]
If it help you then don't forget to press Thanks button !
Forgive my ignorance but this won't downgrade the kernel will it? I'm hoping it's possible to go from the newest OTA to the stable CM11 but I'm guessing this is new kernel JB. Either way thanks if I can't go to stable CM11 I'll stick with rooted 4.1.2.
Once you have a unlocked bootloader, you do not need to use "root programs". All you need to do is flash a custom recovery via Mfastboot / fastboot then flash SuperSU / Superuser.
In dhacker29's folder there are 2 different recoveries.
"msm8960" is for 4.1.2
"KITKAT" is for 4.4.2

The steps are tested by my 2 times, and there shouldn't be any problem. Make sure you have installed the correct drivers.
Please ensure that your bootloader is unlocked and shows BL unlocked status code 3 on BL screen.
I was also able to successfully flash back to JB with House of Moto via fast boot and full data wipe. It would not work with Universal or Keep Data, had to do full data wipe. Just another alternative :good:

Thanks You Its a Success Downgrade From 4.4 stock > CM11 > Stock rom 4.1 Thank you so much !!!
For those undergoing the downgrade process in RSD Lite and it takes forever for it to finish and the system ends up without data/signal, you need to RSD Lite flash again in order to regain signal. I believe the flashing was sluggish due to the jump from 4.4.2 to 4.1.2 and the many changes that were reflashed.

Thank you so much for the guide. After a lot of trial and error (mostly error), I thought that I had bricked my lovely XT907. I finally restored KitKat by flashing the 4.4.2 firmware with the edited XML file (deleting lines with "Getvar", "var" and "oem" in them), then followed your guide to the letter and found myself with a perfectly functional phone once again. No more sticky fastboot loops or audio-related crashes for me!
Lovely guide - thanks again!

Hello again
Latest firmware with Lollipop 5.1.1. is here and i make also a flashable zip for Xperia Z1 (C6903), and so far is been released in just few countries. I make it pre rooted as by my side once you have a pre rooted firmware you can be able to manage and delete apps what you don`t need to free space in your mobile.
What do you need:
- Flashable zip
- Mobile phone Xperia Z1 (C6903) - with CWM/TWRP to can flash the zip
- USB Cable (make sure your battery is over 75%)
- Attention and patience
The procedure to flash the zip is the same like in other threads (copy the zip to your external SD Card and from there reboot your phone to CWM/TWRP and select - install zip)
STEPS TO UPDATE FROM ORIGINAL 5.0.2 Lollipop
1 - Download the .zip from the link bellow in Download section
2 - Copy the .zip to your External Memory (SD Card)
3 - Reboot the phone in Dualrecovery (CWM/TWRP/Philz)
4 - Select INSTALL, then
4 - Navigate to SD Card (external memory/sdcard1) and select the .zip you copied on step 2
5 - Confirm to flash the .zip
6 - When it says FINISHED and if all goes without errors select BACK then Reboot System
7 - Wait patiently for Android to Update and to boot up, the first reboot is longer than a normal one (around 5 minutes)
If you have no root access and not dual recovery and you are running Android 5.0.2 you must follow this steps:
1 - Downgrate to original firmare .108 (see below the Downgrate section)
2 - ROOT and INSTALL DUALRECOVERY
3 - Then follow the same steps as i wrote above to Update
The content of zip is
- firmware C6903_14.6.A.1.216_Customized CE [Central Europe] (i found with XperiFirm on thread wrote by @IaguCool so of course credits go to him)
- UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46 credits go to @Chainfire
- LATEST Z1-lockeddualrecovery2.8.22-RELEASE.flashable credits to @[NUT]
I used PRF Creator to make this zip flashable, credits go to @zxz0O0
DOWNGRATE TO 108 http://techbeasts.com/2015/04/14/root-xperia-z1-c6902c6903-14-5-a-0-242-5-0-2-lollipop-with-dual-recovery/
If you have done before flash with dual recovery you may skip the last link, but if it is your first time when you try to do this i highly recommend you to read before each thread including the one on last link.

Changelog
Sony Xperia Android 5.0.2 14.5.A.0.270
– Ensured the lock screen / notification bar doesn’t indicate “no service” when the device has coverage
– Added a Sony feature; bringing back the “close-all-button” in the activity menu, so you can easily close all apps at once
– Unblocked devices with server policies (such as Exchange Active Sync for e-mail), to enable the new Lollipop lock-screen notifications
– Ensured the LED light is lit across all sound modes – and no longer offset by “silent”
– Made the necessary fixes to enable the easy movement of content from internal memory to external microSD card (something we saw affecting a few devices)
– Improved messaging functionality in Ultra stamina mode – some conversations could not be opened before in Ultra stamina mode

No fear to flash as it is, just boot to dual recovery , select the zip where you copy it and flash it, then reboot the phone, just be patient the first boot time will be longer than normal. Yesterday before i upload the link i try the zip on my phone and i did not wipe anything, i was on 14.5 A.0.283 (lollipop 5.0.2). Once the reboot was done i have all the settings, messages, contacts was untouched .
Good luck!

If you have root and dualrecovery already there should not be a problem... Remember the boot time is longer after you flash, just be patient.

starting to see reports of camera not working properly on 5.1.1 me included, takes a few snaps then the shutter sound disappears camera won't open again
Will it work from RR Rom 5.5.5 with Z1-lockeddualrecovery2.8.21-RELEASE installed?

So far i update from stock, i am not sure if you have custom ROM or custom kernel how will behave, if you want to give a try make sure you backup your actual ROM and have ready for any case a original firmware to flash it if you fail to flash this zip or to restore your backup

Flashed the non-Rooted FTF in flashtool, so running 5.1.1 unrooted. Can't root via flashtool as it always fails, how do you install a custom recovery when running 5.1.1 so I can install the pre-rooted version?
Will I need to downgrade then install dual recovery then flash the rooted Zip from there?
Cheers

well in 5.1.1. you cannot get root access, you should go back to 108, root and install dual recovery, and after that flash the zip here
...in my post i have a link with a guide how to downgrate and then to come back to lollipop
check here the steps

Once you have upgrated to Lollipop when you try the SuperSu is say itself, "you run 5.0 Android, please downgrate to get root acces"
sorry about that and good luck tomorrow!

Rooting on 5.1.1

So I'm on stock 5.1.1 with locked bootloader and rooted.
Any idea where I can find a ftf file for 5.0.2 or 4.4.4 OR is there another way to root?
You can try flashtool > Xprifirm and see if there is one for you. I had a lot of broken downloads. I ended up flashing this D5503_14.4.A.0.157_Customized DE.ftf yesterday. I can, however, not find it and the moment, yet someone linked it on xda. Sorry.
Anyways, remember wipe cache/data after flash. Then you can root and install lockdualrecovery to flash a prerootet zip made with PRFCreater (Get newest rom from Xpirifirm)

Here's stock 5.0.2, (.270 fw), US customization - https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1niPALD2vPeR25XM0ptUmltSVU/view?usp=sharing
Just for clarity, it says in your post that you are currently rooted on 5.1. Why do you want this file? Or is that a typo?
