iLoome will have Nexus 5 screen protector - Nexus 5 Accessories

I sent an e-mail to iLoom support, makers of the tempered glass protector. This was their response to a Nexus 5 screen protector:
Dear Mr. Xxxxx,
Thanks for your question! We're definitely cooking something up for the Nexus 5, but we do not have a date yet as it takes significant amounts of time to create a tempered glass screen protector.
Thank you!
Best regards,
Luke Lee

That is excellent news, is this for their non flexible one or their flexi-glass protector?

I'm not sure. I don't care which one. I was using their non-flexible and I fell in love with it.

Any updates on this?

I couldn't wait so I went ahead and ordered the SPIGEN GLAS.tR tempered glass screen:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00F5C38P2

Can't wait for some decent screen protectors for the nexus 5. It's to bad that in the Netherlands you can't find anything for the nexus 5. Instead i have to deal with a universal screen protector and that sucks.

i have the spigen tr and its awesome =)

Please let us know how it works! I have the SLA for the N4 and is good. But I am curious about this and the Spigen Hybrid installed at the same time.

Looks interesting. I wouldn't mind trying it if I didn't already have 3 pieces of the SGP Ultra Crystal to use and a handful of nobrand cheap protectors for my phone.
Why don't you try it out and do a review for us?
Ordered and awaiting arrival. Will post impressions when I get it.
Im getting one as well. looks very intriguing.
I'm also getting one, most likely the White One. I will order in a week or two when my payday comes around.

You can of course choose the black glas to apply.

Just installed Black Glas shield. Awesome protection and viewing clarity.
No fingerprints and swiping/touch response is great. You get six different colored home button "shields". I installed black. Phone screen is like new now.
Highly recommended SGP quality product.

More glossy indeed. It is like stock screen.
Does it repel fingerprints/oils well? I have the SGP optic protector, and prints/oils are everywhere.
Thanks.

I'm using mime for about a month. Is very effective not like a regular screen protector, but there is one thing it is a little bit thick and have corning glass so you dont feel much of the thickness while you swipe from up to down looking for the notifications.
I have mime and i love it. Absolutely no complaunts, and it's cheaper...

The reviews on the spigen on amazon are awful.
How far to the edge of the glass does the mime go? My GLAS.tR is about 1mm^2 smaller than the screen.
Glas.tr is smaller by about 1mm from edge but fits perfectly with my Otterbox Commuter case. Had it been accurate to screen size, the case wouldn't have fit. So, it works for me.

Thanks you guys from your responces. Well i a am thinking to buy among these 2 products and a Case ,More possible An Uag or An Incipio Frequency. I hope one of these cases wouldn't have problem fit with the Mime Ghost glass right ?
Thanks for this topic. I was waiting for a smaller version of the Spigen Glas but with this rounded corners the ghost Glass is the better decision. So I ordered one yesterday. Thank you guys!

Granted that its a bit thicker its not so much that your thumb can till the difference or even care. What you have to ask is would you feel safer having more or less glass between your screen on your $600 smartphone and the ground if you accidentally dropped it.
Sent from my gimped not yet unlocked Verizon One
Thicker glass does not mean better shock resistance. All these glass screen protectors have glass on the outside and a plastic film on the inner side, where the "glue" resides.
Basically, there is no difference in protection between 0.1mm thick and 1mm thick glass. The only reason for building the glass thicker is the process that is used to create that glass. A more refined/expensive process will lead to a thinner glass .... that's all.

Looks very good and as much as I hate screen protectors you definitely cannot knock the price, will be interesting to see what it is like when you get it.
anyone got previous experience with tempered glass? what are the benefits of it over a screen protector like spigen's ultra crystal? and does it seem weird with the extra thickness it adds? i can't imagine the glass will prevent the real glass display underneath from shattering on drops.

the only benifit to glass that i can see is that it will protect your actual screen from scratches WHILE still feeling slick like glass the plastic and wet application protectors tend to have more friction on their surface and can be tacky.
all in all glass ones just feel better.
is it just me or did the price go up?

I ordered these. No idea how good they are, but they arrive today. I'll give feedback tonight. I'm used to using Steinheil so I'm a bit disappointed by the lack of options for this so far. Everyone I find seems to be a cheap brand. I too, do not like wet apply ones.

That one sounds good and has good reviews. Can't wait to hear!
I'm using the one that came with my Trident Ageis case ATM, but have had really good luck in the past with Clarivue screen protectors. Have had them on 4 devices.
As jhnl33 stated, the "brilliant screen protector" by Power Support that is sold directly from Motorola's website is fantastic. I am a huge fan of Power Support screen protectors and have been using solely their products for the last several years. Very high quality, easy to apply (dry application), no noticeable reduction in image quality, and great tactile response. Not as cheap as many of the options out there, but I can assure you'll be satisfied
You can order the one available at Motorola's official website....there are good one...so it would not be a bad choice to go for them and they are too dry ones....
I use iSmooth protectors on all my devices including my X.

Brilliant does not. Anti glare does a little bit. It's much clearer than a typical matte screen protector, so while it degrades image quality less, it's also less fingerprint resistant than a typical matte protector.

Oleophobic screen protector?

Ehi guys, which screen protector do you use?
I've got Mediadevil cristal clear. Not bad, but it's not oleophobic at all. Do you know a good oleophobic screen protector? Thank you!
I'm fairly sure the Spigen GLAS series of protectors are oleophobic, as well as the Obliq Zeiss Oleophobic one. Neither of these are as good as the screen but they work well. I have the Obliq one and I love it,

Thank you for your input man, it's my first day with the awesome Nexus 5!
The Spigen GLAS tempered glass screen protectors do have some oleophobic properties, but it still gathers fingerprints quite easily (I have this on my N5). I've also used a Clarivue Anti-Glare screen protector that was also oleophobic, and while it worked for a while the surface started to rub off and was clearly worn out after several months of use, especially around where the keyboard is.
No oleophobic screen protector is perfect (obviously) and be cautious of those that will wear out after some use. And obviously it reduces the screen quality in some cases. Just food for thought.
I use this. It has oleophobic coat like on gorilla glass, but seems to attract some dust in my pocket unlike non-oleophobic screen protectors..

@gnufabio sorry for the off post but would it be any possibility for you to add the tf101 parts to the op so that we can use them without the server?
I just finished installing a Nillkin H+ Tempered Glass Screen Protector. It also has the oleophobic coating (pretty much all tempered glass screen protectors have it, if they want to be rated 9H) and it seems to be working quite well.
The good thing about this one is it has the nice rounded edges and is ~$25 - $30 cheaper than the Spigen. Spigen is charging way too much for what you get. Their glass screen protectors are not worth $40.
Just read through these though, and decide what is best for you.

Just adding a comment that the Nillkin tempered glass oleophoic coating works quite well for me. I have had it for a couple months now, and no complaints. Basically Stock feel (on glass) and I'd say the coating is better than stock screen.
