[Q] 32gb version in UK? - Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) Q&A, Help & Troubl

Does anyone have any reliable information on whether and when the 32gb version might come to the UK? (And by reliable I mean quote your source! Next door's cat doesn't count.)

Mate I've been wanting the exact info, I called up Samsung today, the useless farts, they said to call curry's so instead of arguing since I really couldn't be bothered I decided to call curry's and the guy on the other line (who did his best) said at the minute they have no orders for the 32GB but he couldn't say for sure if they would/wouldn't ever be getting them in.
I have been waiting but at times I think I'm waiting for nothing but a 16gb (about 9GB usable) just doesn't seem enough for me. I might call up Samsung again soon because surely they should know if they are going to sell it in the UK or not. Really getting annoyed at Samsung but the Note 10.1 is just too good not to get LOL.

Handtec's web site claims they will have the 32gb in stock tomorrow (6th). We'll see!

Hopefully this means other shops like Currys will be getting them soon, Would rather buy it from a shop I can go back to if I need it exchanged or some other service which is the main reason I am hesitant getting it from America.
Went into Currys today to play with it again - it really looks/feels and is just amazing.

I have sent off an email asking this - My guess would be its the UK version but you never know.

32GB is available to be purchased from ValueBasket and Simply Electrinics However stay away from them since both companies have reviews for being dodgey. I personally haven't used them and definitely don't intend on using them either but I thought I would let others know incase yous get excited when yous see it online.

Handtec also have the 32GB version in now - no idea how reputable they are though. I'm waiting for Currys to get them in stock with their £50 cashback...

Okay for all those waiting (inc me) for Currys to stock the 32GB version well give up...I sent off an email to currys a few days ago I got the following reply :crying:...

Dear Affy,
Thank you gor your query.
We are unfortunatly not selling the 32GB version at all.
Sorry about this.
Kind Regards,
The KNOWHOW team

I'm proper gutted at that like.

That is very frustrating. So it's a choice between the 16GB at £400 from Currys and the 32GB at £510 from elsewhere... £110 for and extra 16GB doesn't seem worth it but if I go for the 16GB version will I be kicking myself in a few months?
BTW: Currys didn't respond to my email on the subject...

I emailed them on Thursday and got a response today, bit wierd since it is a Saturday a guess
Either way I think getting it from America seems like the best option right now.

I have used them in the past they are very reliable. They tend to get stuff from the continent because sometimes you receive the equipment with an additional UK power adaptor.

You bought one yet or undecided still on what route to take?
I think I'm going to have to just buy a 16GB from Currys, I wanted a 32GB from America but just thinking of the extra cost and also if I get a faulty product I wont be able to give it back for an exchange but would have to get Samsung to fix it (If they can).
One of the main reasons I was skeptical of 16GB was because my 16GB S3 had just 2GB free of internal storage and I didn't think I had much on it. However looking closer I noticed I had loads of Apps that I literally never used, also had some random videos I saved on there like a year ago that I never watched and I also moved a few things about (wierdly "Tiger Woods 12"game which is 900MB, 893MB of that game was stored on my external SD card mmmm - I installed it ages ago but I'm sure it gave me the option to store it on external so other games should be able to do this also), anyways back on track so after cleaning all the rubbish up and tidying up my phone I now have exactly 5.87GB free (Thats not including about 1GB worth of whatsapp videos and Images I don't care about). And tbh I still have a few Apps that I could easily delete aswell.
Sods law - Now currys dont seem to have any 16GB in stock at the minute
Update: Just seen 16GB on Tescos so bought it

No 32GB in the UK
I have been looking for the 32GB version for a while. I called the Samsung shop in Westfield Stratford in London. They confirmed that their are no time frame for the 32GB version to come to the UK. They said they were hoping to get the 4G version for the 16GB near Christmas.
I finally bought a 32GB us version for £460 on Ebay, the seller was american but the tablet was already in the UK so no extra import duty on top
The only issue I had so far is that it seem watch on refuse any UK post code to be set up as it seems it wants a US post code. Otherwise I had no other issues.

I use Folder Mount on my 16GB Galaxy S4 (9GB free to begin with) and it works pretty well. I have more games installed than what you could fit on a 32GB Galaxy S4. Redirecting that /obb/ folder really helps a lot with big games.
I also use Folder Mount on my 32GB Note 10.1 (2014). I have 20GB free space with quite a few games installed. I would probably be almost out of space if I wasn't using Folder Mount.
Folder Mount + $50 64gb mem card = winning
On a side note (no pun intended), my 32GB Note shows total capacity as 32.00GB (like a true 32GB's actually) and 6GB is reserved for system memory, compared to the reported 4GB reserved on the 16GB Note.

[Q] Get 16GB or wait for 32GB

i live in holland.and i want this damn phone!!

any sugestions on what takes up the space?
how manny MB's will 1080p recording be and stuf? any one just have a slight idea?
oh and. WHERE IS THE Q/A for galaxy nexus forums!!!!!?????
Since there's no micro-sd slot I would wait for the 32 gb version. But then I use my phone as my primary music player, fstore video and also use it as my primary camera. It depends on what you plan on using it for. If you store a lot of files on then wait.
I wouldn't wait for anything indefinitely when a version is already released. I've never come close to using 16GB on my phone since I keep my music on the cloud.

I probably don't NEED the 32 gig model but that is probably the route I will end up going.
no memory card slot? what?!
I had not heard about that, is it 100% confirmed? i was so looking forward to this phone, but this is such a deal breaker
No sd. Yeah it sucks! I would prob wait for 32 if it wasnt to long. On the other hand, my 8gb sd has been fine. I think im getting the vigor though because the samsung seems a little big for me.

Another thing to consider is the phony preorder prices. Once we know the actual pricing on the Nexus we can make a better choice. If the 32 isn't ridiculously expensive over the 16, that's the route I'll be going. But if they make it $200 more over the 16, screw that, I'll cloud.

Depends solely on your needs - or what your data plan looks like. I've had the same 8gb card with me since my G1 and have never come close to filling it. All I store locally are pictures. For me music = cloud. The extent of my video watching on the phone is internet/youtube...so for me, the 16gb is a no brainer. If you need lots of local storage, go 32gb.

Seems to be conflicting information out there, some reports state that the UK 16GB version will have an SD card slot but it will be missing from the US version.
Who knows whether these these reports are accurate. Would make more sense if the LTE version didn't have the slot as it needs extra space but the HSPA+ version does.

Wanting a bigger/faster SD card!

Looking at:
PNY Technologies - 32GB High Speed microSDHC Class 10 Memory Card
SKU: 3026197
and
Polaroid - 32GB microSDHC Class 10 Memory Card
SKU: 5559941
Cant decide which is better? If there is any difference at all.
Read some reviews. On paper they should be the same (32gb and class 10 each). I heard some bad things about PNY cards. Look the two up on amazon and read the reviews, that's probably your best bet.
Thanks! I will go check that out and see what I come up with. I was hoping to find a good deal at work since I get a discount, but Id rather have the right card than a cheap card!
Samsung 32GB sd cards can be found on ebay for a pretty decent price. There's a post down below this one about the Samsung cards.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1683785
Polaroid is just a name brand that is licensed to go on stuff because people are familiar with it. Not saying the card is bad but there could be several different suppliers providing those cards. If you work there then buy the cheaper one then use sdcard test apps to make sure the speed is good and if not return it. My card is a sandisk class 4, its faster than its rated speed and good enough for my needs.

Update, most people on forum are saying model number is a brand new packaging where A is Android
http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51b75XutX9L.jpg
Highly it is class 10, since it isn't the european packaging.
Reviewer also didn't actually buy the product just going off from the model number so I guess it's still a chance of being either right or wrong.

SanDisk 64GB Ultra microSDXC 95MB/s

what do you guys think about this Sandisk with a 95MB/s speed:
http://www.adorama.com/IDSIUMS64GB.html
is it overkill? can the S3 even handle this card? i'll be using the camera a lot, if it makes a difference, as it's my only camera. i'll also be moving music in and out frequently.
i've seen it sell for much more on other sites, so i thought that $99 price isn't too bad. i live near the store also, so i could go pick it up today.
do you guys think it's worth it? thanks!

Yah I think that's wrong. Looks like the adapter is rated for 95MB/s.
Even though it says "microSDXC" that's a regular sized SD card in the photo, it looks shopped.

It's a 64GB Class 10. I may just walk over to the store and get it. $99 seems reasonable for it right? I don't think I can wait 2-5 weeks for the Amazon deal.

They charged me wayyy too much for shipping last time I bought from them. It was something like $10 and the envelope with my sd card in it (from USPS) said in the corner the cost was less than $2.
On the plus side, though, the shipped me a class 4 card when the description said class 2.

I bought that exact card from Amazon for my SGS3, the phone can handle it just fine. Just make sure you reformat it as FAT32 or it will be useless in recovery if you're using CWM. Once reformatted CWM recovery can see it just fine.

If it is actually the SDXC, I have a 64Gb one in my E4GT right now and it works great.
This exact MicroSD card is going for $99 on Newegg so there's little doubt it's counterfeit. For another $10 I'd rather spring for a 32GB card that comes with a warranty and hassle free return. Also I heard with the 64GB card the media scanner takes forever to process it.

My last one cost about 65-70$ from Amazon (so you can definitely get them cheaper than Newegg,) but I do agree that these are likely counterfeit (or stolen... muhahahaha)
Media scanner: yea, but marking the media scanner to not scan it (.nomedia) is my normal fix for that issue.

I have one already, not the one from eBay but the official one, in my S2 and the media scanner doesn't take any longer than the 32 I had. But I haven't packed it full of media either.
For the price ill bite, if something goes wrong then at least I'm paying with paypal

I found this in the S3 forums. I am certain it is a fake but if the size is close and the speed is around 4 or better it is still worth it IMO. So if you like to gamble here is your chance

Here is an interesting article with some very interesting insight into the world of "fake" microSD card manufacturing in China... written by an American(?) who works at a factory in China. Apparently some "fake" cards are just substandard cards that flash memory makers dump on thesecondary markets...
You can find the article via Google. Search for "On MicroSD Problems bunnie's blog" it should be the first one that comes up
The article was very long and nearly put me to sleep... but still very interesting read.
This is the reply I got from him regarding the query of the card .

I didnt understand it completely, but I think he was trying to say that he will refund fully if I will not satisfy with the card, and I dont need to return it back.
Still finger crossed.. Dont know whether the card will arrive or not
Mine emailed late last night that it was marked shipped so patiently waiting. If this is a real one then I will sad I didn't order 3 instead of one...

That means that sale is over. You can click on the seller and see if he has any more open. If not you are out of luck, or in luck depending on how this turns out

LOL Your fine man! All you were doing was try to help.... We all wanna know where the good deals are!! Those cards would definitely be a tad harder to put in the slot though....
Thanks man, yeah I was just trying to help out. I would have felt like an ass if some poor noob would have bought one though.
"It wouldn't fit so I cut it down to size and squished it with a vice but It still won't work, now all I get is bootloops" LOL

Yes, the prices of sd cards and ssd's are on a downward spiral so you will always pay more when you want the good (latest) tech right now (like me) but oh well, you can't always win....

Price just went up to $49.99. This is the ultra one btw.
Good prices - too bad they are not fully compatible with the Note 2, which I believe is limited to 32gb.

I had read specs saying 32 - plus I have a 64. It is accessible through Root Explorer and with the camera. However, TWRP will not mount it and apps like Media Hub and most others will not access it. I have been manually moving large files around,
When I put my 16 gb in, everything works OK. Suggestions would be appreciated.
UPDATE - Problem was that it was formatted exFat. Formatting in the device or with Windows won't let you do FAT32, but freeware app did. It now can be accessed by TWRP (having it do a backup to it) and I was able to select it with Media Hub.

sadly i did not receive that coupon...probably because its back in stock today
As of 11-11-12, the price is back down to $39.99, and it's out of stock again (before I was able to buy)....lol
The out of stock is "online"...and there are no B&M stores within 50 miles of me that have them. You may be luckier, just search.
Unfortunately I can't use it for anything except media files. Rooted my Note 2 and still can't move my apps to SD. Only 1.2gb left free internally for apps now. Sucks. Really wishing I would have held or for something bigger than 16gb.
