I'm no dev but if you need beta testers/logcat providers i'd be glad to help

I confirm functionality on Maguro, without gapps, was too excited to wait for them to download . Looking good!
Edit: Just put phone to sleep and didn't wake up. I guess there's still bugs, but very excited anyway!

[DDK 1.9] OmniROM DDK 1.9 Test Version

Introduction
This is a test version of OmniROM with SGX DDK 1.9 graphics drivers, as well as many OMAP-related kernel updates. No, this isn't 3.4, but a LOT of TI updates were packed into the kernel. Currently, this is only for maguro, but anyone can build it for toro/toroplus with the sources.
Click to collapse
Features
The ROM and the kernel has a stock feeling - no mods were added.
Most notable new features:
- SGX DDK [email protected]
- GPU governor
- Enabled 384 MHz GPU frequency (as a part of the OMAP updates)
- Tons of background changes for the kernel

Important notes
Camera and OMX is not working yet! This turned out to be a harder task for me to fix than implementing the new GPU drivers...
Other bugs are not known yet, but there may be some! Bug reports are welcome.
Thanks to everyone who helped me, especially Hashcode, as I used his repos as an example on how to set up things properly.

FAQ
How can I install this?
Just flash the ROM zip (and optionally GAPPS), and you're done.
Can I install this on top of Omni roms?
Yes, you should be able to do so without data loss.
Can I revert to non-1.9 Omni after this without data loss?
Yes.
Is this faster than the current ROMs/kernels?
As this is a stock-like ROM and kernel, not necessarily - there are no optimizations, etc added.
However, if one adds the optimizations used on current custom roms and kernels, this should be faster than them.
Can I install another kernel?
No, the new drivers require the ROM and the kernel side to match each other. Only this combination will work.
When will you fix camera?
I'm trying, but I don't have much success...
Can I help?
Sure, I appreciate any help, as I'm running out of ideas on how to fix camera and OMX.
Can I build this stuff myself?
Of course - everything needed is on my github. You'll need the following repos added to your Omni sources:
omni_android_device_samsung_tuna
omap (newpvr2 branch)
proprietary_vendor_samsung_tuna

Thanks for the suggestion, added it to the introduction text.
Amazing! I will try out tommorow
I've installed it and it feels smooth, I've not encountered any bugs yet. Have you tried removing "kitkat workarounds" from frameworks/native?
Thanks for your awesome work
Nice work! Seems a lot more responsive although it may be placebo effect.
Thanks for posting this, I'm going to try building for toroplus, since we seem to get left out of the excitement so often. My internet connection is slow and so is my computer, so you will probably have everything fixed before I get a chance to even look for bugs.
Great work! I hope you manage to get camera working soon.
Amazing work bro, wishing u best of luck !!
I'm on F2Fs otherwise would have tested this asap...
Awesome work!
Thanks for the amazing work you've brought to the gnex, but since i'm on F2FS i was wondering if you could make a F2FS compatible version of this rom?

Yeah, but the glitches are still there. Actually, that may be a bug in android itself (it affects a lot of devices), they may have fixed it on L... and those workarounds are really not important, as the problem only comes when taking screenshots. And since android takes screenshots for the rotation animation, etc, those glitches appear there as well. The workarounds just force it to take screenshots on CPU-path, they don't change anything else.
I think they fixed it in DDK 1.12 (which is the next version after 1.9), but that's another story, as I think it does not support our GPU (but it may in the future).

Don't know, to be honest. I can't get it working on my gnex variant yet. I can tell you it's largely CM based and already has some of the options from LS KK, more will be added as time progresses.

Just one word: WOW !!!
This is awesome. It's completely functional. Well, except for the well known issues that other ROMs also have at this stage (camera, etc). Plus, lots of familiar LS options and customizabilities
I love my maguro again :]
A big thanks to LS devs and also poo :good:
P.S. can confirm PA GAPPS 5.0.x working (I'm using pico).
Hi
Does the camera have that green tint issue or do the pictures turn out the same as kitkat.
And does this work if system is ext4 and the rest f2fs or does it all have to be ext4?

Frequently asked Questions (FAQ)
Or Questions and answers, since this thread is new.
Q: Can this be flashed on the Exynos Note 4?
A: No, by no means. The Exynos model is completely incompatible, sorry.
Q: And what about other Snapdragon versions?
A: I can't advise to do that, it's untested and might not work. If you know how to handle bootloops and can remove my kernel if it doesn't boot, then you can always try it and tell me how it went. More variants would be awesome.
Q: Yikes, this kernel is too close to stock! What about more features?
A: More features will be included, please check the changelog preview. You can also request features and track the progress. I will make a section on this thread to display the feature request and write if I look at them, make them or - and that might happen - reject them.
- To be updated..
Known Issues / Fixes
Bootloop if you have Viper4Android installed and flashed Andromeda over it
Fix: Uninstall Viper, install Andromeda and then reinstall.
If this issue persists in my future builds, then I'll add an automated script to remove Viper4Android upon installation of the kernel.

Hi, yes of course you can! We are actually working on deeper and more exclusive support for SimpleRom too. Stay tuned for version 2.1, it will be awesome
My kernel is much closer to the stock base, so you might get some more performance squeezed out - especially if you select Intelliactive as your governor - but at the cost of battery. I'm still not so big on features, the last couple of days my compiler decided to give me a hard time :crying:
Only 910F for now though!

I originally intended to include both in this build, but it will still need much more time and work and I didn't want to keep you away from the great upgrades I made in this version, so those two goodies will come later. I can highly recommend trying TricksterMod and KControl, both from the PlayStore.
And a very special announcement...
Perhaps the biggest change is that I recently joined "Team Simple - Simply Awesome" cool and will contribute an adapted version of the Andromeda kernel to SimpleRom, starting with the very close release of it's 2.1 Build. We planned something special - FauxSound is only the cherry on the Audiophile package inbuilt, so be very excited for whats coming up and be sure to try SimpleRom, especially the upcoming 2.1 version!
Oh, btw. I will also open a thread for the SimpleKernel once the Rom is released, to provide an optimized yet very close to stock experience! And there are also plans for an Exynos Build (the N910C), but I need some help with the Exy, so if anyone could lend me a hand, it would be highly appreciated! Now I understand why most devs settle for the Snapdragon..

In plans for next release.
Any support for color control Mate?
Thank you , Can it use in ROM Port ?
Thanks @Boris31 for great kernel! I'm using it right now, It is faster than the stock one, a little bit, but it seems that's not quite battery friendly. What I want to say is that I'm truly satisfied, keep it up with great work!!! Hope next release will be soon

Well, cloudyg3 is based on f320 system so it's maybe because of that. I know that f320l/k/s on kitkat could boot with a d802 kernel but had problems like Fmradio etc.. i dont know why it does not work here so wait for cloudy to release it official or maybe I will try to find how fix it.
@somboons which kernel did you use in modded cloudyg3?

There is not my work maybe from VN. Base F320 .I have unpacked ramdisk I saw f320 in properties fils But I can't remember the name.
I think these kernel modify from f320 for D802.

[KERNEL] [EAS] [AOSP] tabp0le v3.04 | 4.0-Oreo w/F2FS, FastCharge USB 2/3 [Feb 12]

Code:
****Disclaimer: I'm not responsible if you destroy your device. Use at your own risk.
Introduction:
I saw a lot of demand/requests for a LOS compatible, F2FS kernel and wanted to make one. This kernel installer includes the kernel with F2FS drivers built-in and the required ramdisk changes to make F2FS mount. Energy Aware Scheduling is baked right into tabp0le kernel. You will get the best battery life and performance this device has to offer. You can find out more about EAS here. This kernel is built for stability, battery life and features without compromising performance. Overclocking is not going to happen. Please do not flash this on any ROM not based off LineageOS.
Note: The 4.0+ versions will ONLY work with Oreo. Please do not try and flash on Nougat!

Thanks,but can't find it.
Thanks, but the is no download in the repo.
I think this is the link.

In v0.9 DoubleTap2Sleep on the fingerprint worked better imo..
I have to disable this function and so I changed it to stock behavior for now.
Fixed the OP with link. Oops!

Yes, the EAS kernel and original kernel are updated differently and have different version numbers. It's too confusing for me to leave them in the same thread.

Right now I'm not using any custom settings. You could ask @INDIAN-MAfIA what he uses on Nebula, or look at the Nebula EAS thread because those EAS settings should all work here too.
Hi @tabp0le
I just tried your RR builds and while I do know that these are your private builds for your own use its just that they are the best damn AOSP builds! Most feature rich and stable builds at the moment. Hence I had a small request. It's okay if you don't want to implement it. So here goes… could you please implement an option so that the stock android colour scheme could be used for the settings and brightness slider and such? It previously used to be green and teal(? I think. Not good with colour names. I just remember quick settings used to be a different shade of Gray. Like in stock rom) Now it's Gray and blue. Like in the brightness slider and downloads bar. Could you please implement something that allows me to use the old colours? Thanks.

Thanks man. AOSP is pixel actually. AOSP is whatever google says it is in a given year. Nexus is AOSP for MM, Pixel for N. Just the way it goes. I think theres a new tool out there now that you can do the customizations yourself without an entire theme. Not sure what it's called but I think it was in XDA news the other day.

Oh haha. I thought pixel had some proprietary code so it wasn't AOSP. Guess I was wrong. Thanks for the tip. I'll search for it.
I flashed latest v1.01 but in Ex kernel manager and in phone info i see v0.9. I've already tried to flash again v1.0.1 without success, but in ex kernel manager i see termal throttling option that wasn't there in v 0.9. What could have happened?
Edit: i'm on dirty unicorns 11.1 now
