This ROM is built from AOSP sources with my modifications and with some useful features. I don't really care about any ROM customization features, because I care about stability and performance. So this ROM will never be "fully customizable".
What's the difference between this ROM and other custom LP ROMs for Nexus?
A: You really cannot see the difference by seeing screenshots of this ROM. You can feel the difference by using it.

I can't edit the frameworks_native opengl files to fix the graphical issues, that must be done by someone talented...
Reboot issues: I don't know, my Nexus only rebooted once. I still haven't flashed Gapps.

This ROM is using AOSP JB 4.3.1 tuna and maguro device repositories, which are edited for KitKat 4.4 by me by adding the changes from Grouper KK 4.4 device repository. Here is my
device repositories for Tuna:
github.com/manumanfred/device_samsung_tuna
github.com/manumanfred/device_samsung_maguro
Changelog:
device_maguro
Code:
KitKat
Enable BLE
frameworks/base overlay: add MMS UA and UAProfUrl strings for maguro
JB 4.3.1
device_tuna
Code:
fix typo of audio.r_submix.default
Enable host interleaving BR/EDR device discovery
audio: fix remote submix sampling rates
change to new libsensors headers - Thanks to kufikugel
KitKat
Include BLE permission file
Enable BLE
JB 4.3.1
To Do:
Fix possible GPS issue (Maybe)
Take this away: Settings.Global.LOW_BATTERY_SOUND_TIMEOUT It's for tablets, we can use it but this is useless
Fixes
Add Battery Charging LED
If the vendor files for grouper KK have been uploaded, then use some of the files from it for BT and WiFi
Revert some things (maybe, currently needs testing...)
Next version will be Dreams 4.4 Milestone 2
For Toro users: Don't ask any ETAs or anything like that.. I build this KK based Dreams for Toro when this is stable for Maguro.

package gives error because of the new signature in kitkat, it is fixed in latest cwm and I think in twrp as well, so you can build a flashable zip just recommending to be on latest cwm in order to flash it

So it's still Jellybean?

Some reboots happens sometimes when some apps are running , I should check the logcat tomorrow.

Thanks Carlos! Are we to flash any gapps package? Also, will you be building a flashable zip now?

I never use twrp recoveries.
I use CWM touch 6.0.3.4 or something like that.

you need the last CWM version to flash 4.4 zip.
my nexus have volume broken, you can upload the zip version to me? I have the last CWM version, I can try this flash

I have the .zip package on my Ubuntu partiton, but I'm not using Ubuntu right now so I can't give it now. Next version will be flashable through CWM.

as always, you are awesome, thanks for your roms, they are golden

Absolutely the best kitkat rom 'till date, no doubt..the rom is blazing fast, smooth like ever, opening app, swiping to google now is liquid, fast precise... the only thing you have to do is to install mopkang kernel 1080 version, which makes a big difference in the overall performance, stock kernel seems to be young for this os.. everything seems to work fine, super su 1.65 works perfectly..what else can I say, excellent job and thanks carlos, I'm coming from the latest cm snapshot and i can feel the very gap in terms of speed and smoothness, kitkat really is a badass os:good:

In the beginning I would like to thank:
AOKP team
tgascoigne - original device tree and fixes
TeamNDVRu - kernel and a lot of fixes
CM team
richardtrip for audio fix
pabx for echo fix
OneX IceCold Team:
LorD ClockaN - don't ask
TUN_SD - themer - pretty as his themes/mods
n3ocort3x - kernel boy - clumsy as his kernels
semdoc - tester - thorough as his line of work (ask him what's his job!!)
icke - main thread helper and tester
Now we can move on...
DONATIONS:
I'm not writing this because of lack of donations, but to get the priorities straight..
AOKP team deserves it more then IceColdTeam, so go to ROMControl/about and open your wallet
If you would like to make a donation for this ROM, don't do it only for me!!!
Consider whole IceCold Team, not only the individual.
Latest Stable Release
ONLY FOR ONE X INTERNATIONAL, TEGRA 3 VERSION - I don't want any more bricked devices!!
Version: IceColdJelly V3.5.1 - 07-12-2012
What's New
V3.5.1:
Flash this version if you have trouble booting/rebooting
V3.5:
Clearing Cache/Dalvik Cache and Fixing permissions are HIGHLY recommended if you don't do full wipe!!
Still android 4.1.2 base, probably last version on this base
Updates to apps: Mms, Email, CMFileManager
Settings: Add an "Automatically Connect" option for WiFi networks - CM
Optimization patches to frameworks_base
Some other patches all around...
Change log is small, but sweet
Also want to welcome newest member to the IceCold Team!!! - SEMDOC
You want to change stock DPI?
Follow this link and it's instructions to get playstore working
Overlay feature usage:
To have your apps and scripts etc automatically installed during ROM flash place them in:
sdcard/overlay/system/app/ (for system apps)
sdcard/overlay/system/etc/init.d/ (for scripts)
etc
What's Working
Everything from tgascoigne's and TeamNDVRu's roms
What's Broken
everything that is mentioned in TeamNDVRu's thread:
WiFi direct doesn't work
In call volume adjustment works, but not fully well in Speaker mode
MHL output is rotated incorrectly to portrait in horizontal mode (but workaround added since alpha 8 for hw decoded videos/youtube. Use bsplayer from playstore, almost all videos play with it in correct rotation in hwoverlay)
No FM radio app in ROM. But Spirit FM works from market (it's commercial!)
ROMS
ROMS should contain everything you need to enjoy JB. You are not required to install any Add Ons, simply download the latest ROM, flash it, and go!
You are STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing, and if possible avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup - these can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug. If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience strange behavior.
How to flash:
turn OFF your phone
boot in bootloader
select fastboot mod
flash boot.img via fastboot that is located in the rom.zip: fastboot flash boot boot.img
run this command now: fastboot erase cache
go back to hboot screen
select recovery
full wipe is recommended if coming from sense, if coming from other AOSP roms than not
flash the rom
flash these gapps (Google applications - 20121011) -they NEED to be flashed after every ROM flash
boot
If you have any other question look into F.A.Q. in 3rd post!!!
If you're on boot 1.23, 1.28, etc... use this boot.img for now - it's for 3.3 ROM and it has NCX v13 kernel inside
If for any unknown reason you want different kernel, you need to repack it into this rom's boot.img.
DON'T ask in thread, but repack it your self with this wonderful on-line repacking tool http://nibble.cc/repack/

Source building and F.A.Q.
HOW TO BUILD ICECOLDJELLY FROM SOURCE
First of all you need to have Linux installed (or MacOS, but this tutorial is for Linux).
I highly recommend Linux Mint 14 Cinnamon edition, or any version above V10 or Ubuntu 10 should be fine.
Now when you have linux installed on your dual boot (highly recommended), or in a virtual machine, follow this guide to set up your environment, but only till the moment of initializing repo, than stop. We use different repo of course.
After you've installed all required packages (keep in mind on different packages for 32bit and 64bit machine) and installed repo binary, go to my repo link here and read the part in Readme or just scroll down.
You need to initialize repo, sync and build. While syncing, go and grab a beer (or a coffee if you really want) because it will take a long time, depending on your internet speed. It will download I think about 6-8 GB of data, depending on repo you try to sync. After sync finishes, sync run the command one more time, just to be on the safe side.
Before starting compilation, I highly recommend to install ccache application that will greatly increase speed of compilation after the first compilation. Easiest install is by running this in terminal: sudo apt-get install ccache
Compilation starts by running this command in the root of your repo folder: . vendor/aokp/build.sh
this way you'll get rom zip ready for flash in out/target/product/endeavoru folder named aokp_endeavoru_unofficial_XXX-XX-XX.zip
XXXs are for current date.
if something goes wrong or you think you didn't get new features that I mentioned in change log or I updated my git, you run this command before compilation: make clean
It will delete your entire out folder and compile from scratch, but it will be much faster because of ccache application.
99% of the time you won't need to run make clean, but if I change some build flags or rom name, make clean is needed
That's all folks!!
FAQ - by Braindamage1989
Issues:
GPU Rendering "issue":
Lord somehow forgot to turn on forced GPU rendering by default. This could lead to some graphical issues and sometime slower framerates. To turn it on go to: "Settings" -> "Developer Options" -> "Force GPU Rendering"
Theme issues:
Some people are having issues while changing their theme. A known solution is switch back to system theme (and set back original DPI if you have DPI issues), do a reboot and then try to apply the theme you want again (and if you have DPI issue you can now change it back). It's also nice to notice that ICJ has his own official theme thread located here.
Radio (2G/3G) and WiFi issues:
On ICJ with the stock kernel everything works. If you somehow have issues with data connections it most time comes from 3rd party apps/mods (not stock kernels, RIL change, radio change). If you encounter such issues try to use a fresh (wipe) install with everything stock. If it works now, you have problems with 3rd party apps/mods.
GPS issues:
First of all make sure you don't have a hboot equal or higher than 1.23, because on this hboots GPS won't work at all. If you are on a lower version hboot and have issues with GPS, first see if the GPS icon appears in the notification bar. If it doesn't, there is a great chance that you flashed a custom kernel and didn't flashed the right modules (or a kernel with a broken GPS) or that your GPS is broke. If you do have the icon appearing in the notification bar and still have issues try this:
Download app called GPSfix from market
Go to a place were you normally wouldn't have any problems with fixing location
Start the app and click start fixing
If your GPS isn't broke you should get 1 or more satellite icons in your screen after a minute or 2
Let it run and see if it gets a fix now
If you locations has been found, it will give you a message
Now try again with any other app, it should be working now
You may need to redo all steps after a reboot
Play Store Issues (Multi DPI Play Store):
This ROM has the option to change the DPI. If you change the DPI of your phone some apps won't show up in Play Store. For this issue there is a multi DPI Play Store. You can find them here and here. In case you want to know what a "Inverted Play Store" is, this is a Play Store with the opposites colors (white = black, black = white). Also keep in mind that Google can autoupdate your Play Store, then you need to reflash a NEWER version of the multi DPI mod. Also make sure you flash multi DPI Play Store after you flashed GAPPS.
ADB issues:
Sometimes for no reason ADB stops to work. This could have many reasons. First of all check if it is enabled at dev options. If it doesn't work after that it's mostly the shortest way to uninstall and reinstall the Android SDK. In some cases downgrades (older SDK) could work to.
Battery issues:
If you are experiencing battery drains you could use BetterBatteryStats to what apps are causing this. At the section "Alarms" of BetterBatteryStats you can see what apps are causing wakelocks. Common tips to extend battery life are:
Disable locations services
Turn off/delete Google Now
Longer/higher auto-sync values
Watch out for 3rd party apps/widgets draining
Usage:
How to flash:
Turn OFF your phone
Boot in bootloader
Select "fastboot"
Flash boot.img via fastboot that is located in the rom.zip: "fastboot flash boot boot.img"
Run this command now: "fastboot erase cache"
Go back to hboot screen
Select "recovery"
Full wipe is recommended if coming from sense, if coming from other AOSP roms than not
Flash the rom
Flash these gapps (Google applications - 20121011) -they NEED to be flashed after every ROM flash
Hboot 1.23 and higher:
If you are on hboot version equal or newer than 1.23, then you need to use a special kernel to get the ROM working. This kernel will break the GPS module so you can't use GPS when you are on a hboot newer then 1.23. This problem can't be fixed untill HTC release their kernel source code for Jelly Bean. If for any unknown reason you want different kernel, you need to repack it into this rom's boot.img. DON'T ask in thread, but repack it your self with this wonderful on-line repacking tool http://nibble.cc/repack/ or try it manual with this (Windows) guide.
Changing radios & getRIL:
For some reasons you may want to change your radio or RIL, but this is not recommend as most users get more issues instead of less by changing RILs or radios. But if you want to take a shot, go read on. For changing the RIL sibor has made a great tool called getRIL. Somehow the newest getRIL doesn't get well with ICJ. But version 0.9.4b works perfect. To change the radio (or better baseband) you only need to overwrite one single file. The file is located at system/etc and it's called "QUO_6260.fls.clean". I don't gonna explain how you overwrite the file, if you don't know it yourself you shouldn't change your radio.
Circle Lockscreen:
ICJ has a beautiful Circle lockscreen. You can find this lockscreen at: "Settings"->"Security"->"Lockscreen"
Changing governor and cpufreq:
Changing governor or cpufreq under ROM Control doesn't work flawless. If you want to change these values permanently you need a third party app (No-frills CPU Control or SetCPU)
Public betas:
Some times the ICJ team releases a public beta. It's a public beta for a reason, it needs to be tested by more persons then the regular team. As a beta most time contains new functions or improvements, there is a chance stuff doesn't work (good). If you really want to be helpful then give details of what you have done, like:
Did you do full wipe?
Are you at stock kernel?
Did you use any 3rd party apps?
And if you have the time, provide a logcat
And most important of all don't scream it doesn't work without providing extra details, you better don't say anything at all. If Lord Clockan asked us for testing something please also report that it works if it does. This will speed up things a bit to.
Overlay script (install system apps and scripts on ROM install):
To have your apps and scripts etc automatically installed during ROM flash place them in:
sdcard/overlay/system/app/ (for system apps)
sdcard/overlay/system/etc/init.d/ (for scripts)
etc
Google Apps
Some modded GAPPS can cause issues. The best way to prevent weird behavior is to make sure only GAPPS get flashed, by looking into the zip file or use the GAPPS given here

I think he mentioned using Trip's kernel on this? I believe that contributes to the smoothness (though i'm not sure)

What's Broken:
In call volume adjustment works, but not fully well in Speaker mode
MHL output is rotated incorrectly to portrait in horizontal mode (but workaround added since alpha 8 for hw decoded videos/youtube. Use bsplayer from playstore, almost all videos play with it in correct rotation in hwoverlay)
No FM radio app in ROM. But Spirit FM works (free version) - will be fixed in V2.2
ROMS
ROMS should contain everything you need to enjoy JB. You are not required to install any Add Ons, simply download the latest ROM, gapps, flash it, and go!
Boot.img repacker by xcesco89
How to flash:
Either follow this BEST flashing tutorial especially made for ICJ by JKURL or follow these short steps:
turn OFF your phone
BACKUP your data using recovery (and SD on first flash just in case)
boot in bootloader
select fastboot mod
flash boot.img via fastboot that is located in the rom.zip: fastboot flash boot boot.img
run this command now: fastboot erase cache
go back to hboot screen
select recovery
full wipe is needed IF you aren't coming from other AOSP 4.2 rom and the best is to use this script!!
flash the rom
flash newest gapps (Google applications) from here -they NEED to be flashed after every ROM flash
boot
If you have any other question and want more INFO look into F.A.Q. in 3rd post!!!

That's all folks!!
if you have to flash a kernel, or you want to repack a kernel and flash the repacked kernel, I highly recommend

absolutely noob proof and stable. I use it since months and it never fails.
if you want to upgrade your rom+gapps[+modules+soundmods] use the tool

ICJ FAQ
Last updated: 21/10/2013 13:51 (GMT/UTC)
I can't give any support on the apps/mods that are provided. Read the FAQ to be sure if you are safe to flash/apply!!!
General Questions:
How to flash:
* Turn OFF your phone
* Boot in bootloader
* Select "fastboot"
* Flash boot.img via fastboot that is located in the rom.zip: "fastboot flash boot boot.img"
* Run this command now: "fastboot erase cache"
* Go back to hboot screen
* Select "recovery"
* Full wipe is needed IF you aren't coming from other AOSP 4.2 rom and the best is to use this script!!
* Flash the rom
* Flash these gapps (Google applications - 20130301) -they NEED to be flashed after every ROM flash
What is the newest stable version?
IceCold OneX 3.8 + md5checksum
What is the newest public beta?
AICP 19-10-2013 - Not tested by me, don't know if it works at all!
Where is the latest beta changelog?
You can find it here. This also includes changes from not released versions!!!!!
What kernel does this ROM use?
The stock kernel in ICJ is from the great work of neo. This is a 3.1 kernel which needs atleast hboot 1.31. This ROM is protected for those who are on a lower hboot, it simply won't flash. More info and how-to use are here and here.
Which launcher(s) are included in ICJ?
Trebuchet.
Which musicplayer(s) are included in ICJ?
Stock music from AOSP and Apollo from CM.
Which equalizer(s) is included in ICJ?
DSP Manager.
Does this ROM has FM support?
No, not native. But there is a app called Spirit FM on XDA that should work.
Does this ROM with stock kernel has S2W? (Swipe2Wake)
Yes it has. You can enable it at Android Settings under Device Options.
Does this ROM with stock kernel supports fast charge?
Yes, more info like what and how to use are under section "usage" of FAQ.
Does this ROM with stock kernel supports UMS? (USB Mass Storage)
Yes (Since version ICJ42 2.5), but before you use it you need to turn of usb debugging under developer options. This also means you no longer have the /0/ folder on the sd-card.
Does Photosphere work on this ROM?
No, but there is a modded camera going around which can. You can find it here (credits: mattoffshore). Just flash it trough recovery. This will NOT overwrite the default camera from ICJ.
Are there even more mods included?
Yes, you also have a CRT-OFF animation when screen goes off. The settings for this are at ROM Control under the section General UI.
No way, are there even more mods included?
Oh yes, to be honest I lost track what is included and what not (good sign btw). PIE Controls is included since version 2.7(the link shows what PIE Controls is for).
Is this ROM Linaro compiled?
No, not anymore. It seems Linaro was giving trouble with atleast auto-rotation (and perhaps even reboots). ICJ version 2.5 is completly clean from Linaro.
Inverted Gapps:
The inverted Gapps by TUN_SD can be find here. Keep in mind this gets more regular updated then the original Gapps. It is reported on older versions some apps like dialer etc. won't show in the app drawer. If you encounter this issue it is wise to download a newer one. The upload date should be in the the title of the file.
More goodies:
Mattoffshore has made a nice collection of tools and ICJ goodies. You can find it all here. He also post nightly builds sometime in the this thread!
ICJ Wallpaper thread:
This is a thread by Goku80. It contains alot of wallpapers, where you also can submit yours! Take a look it's worth it!
Version specific issues & fixes:

Issues:
Baseband issues for Vodafone branded phones/Middle East:
Finally someone managed to get his hands on the complete Vodafone branded radio. As I thought this fixes issues for people who have bad GSM/3G/HSDPA on Vodafone branded devices, and in some cases for HOX's in the Middle East. You can grab the download at the buttom. Thanks to codexc for sharing the files!
Also the baseband from the 3.20.401.1 (5.1204.162A.29) update is included now in ICJ (version 3.1).
GPU Rendering "issue":
By default forced gpu rendering is off. This could lead to some graphical issues and sometime slower framerates (with gaming). To turn it on go to: "Settings" -> "Developer Options" -> "Force GPU Rendering". Turning this on could lead to the fact some pictures uploaded here on XDA are not actually shown when using the official XDA app. Disable this once again and to fix this.
Theme issues:
Some people are having issues while changing their theme. A known solution is switch back to system theme (and set back original DPI if you have DPI issues), do a reboot and then try to apply the theme you want again (and if you have DPI issue you can now change it back).
Toggles issues:
If they don't work at all, simply flash newest GAPPS (also mentioned at top of FAQ). Try again and now they should work!
Music lag (while screen off) issues:
Turn "Increase Audio Min freq" to on. It's located in IceCold Custom Settings.
GPS issues:
First see if the GPS icon appears in the notification bar. If it doesn't, there is a great chance that you flashed a custom kernel and didn't flashed the right modules (or a kernel with a broken GPS) or that it could be a hardware failure. If you do have the icon appearing in the notification bar and still have issues try this:
* Download app called GPS status from market (Note: I removed GPSfix due the new airpush ads.)
* Go to a place were you normally wouldn't have any problems with fixing location
* Start the app
* If your GPS isn't broke you should get connection to multiple satellites.
* Let it run and see if it gets a fix now
* it will also show the error value which indicates the correction of the measurement
* Now try again with any other app, it should be working now
ADB issues:
Sometimes for no reason ADB stops to work. This could have many reasons. First of all check if it is enabled at dev options. If it doesn't work after that it's mostly the shortest way to uninstall and reinstall the Android SDK. In some cases downgrades (older SDK) could work to.
WiFi issues compared to Sense:
Alot of users are reporting that they have less signal with WiFi on AOSP based roms. This is not true, I even tested it myself. It is true that AOSP displays less bars then on Sense, but the signal strength is still the same. If you really have WiFi issues perhaps check if you have one of the faulty batches which has bad wiring at the right upper corner of your phone (more on xda about this, not gonna explain whole thing again). Otherwise, set you battery icon to text only. You should see better values now.
Ringtone/Sound issues:
You missed a call because you didn't hear your ringtone? Or you did you put on a song in a noise free room and still don't hear it? This (AwesomeBEATS) and this (Acid Mod) could be your solution. How to install and how to use are in the linked threads.
Battery issues:
If you are experiencing battery drains you could use Wake lock detector to what apps are causing this. At start of the app you will see the stats at once.
* Disable locations services
* Turn off/delete Google Now
* Longer/higher auto-sync values
* Watch out for 3rd party apps/widgets draining
* Keep in mind this isn't Sense!!
Usage:
ADB and UMS at the same time
Follow the instructions given in the PDF. Thanks Eyosen for sharing!
Multi touch and gaming
This is fixed in ICJ 3.2, by default! Due to touch calibration some games that require multi touch won't work well. There is a simple way to disable touch calibration with a single command line for the terminal. Just execute the code below. To set it on again just echo a 1. Or if you are on a newer version of the ROM you can also disable it at "Settings -> Device options -> Calibration Control".
echo 0 > /sys/android_touch/calibration_control
Disable Caller ID:
The setting for Caller ID is located here "Phone App --> Menu --> Settings --> Additional Settings --> Caller ID"
Changing kernel and modules:
For some reason you might want to switch the kernel. First of all, DON'T FORGET THE MODULES AND REPACK! You can use the online kernel repacker, but there is also a option to do it yourself. With this guide you should be able to do that. What they don't mention is that when you install Cygwin you need to install the perl libaries to get this script to work. You only need the working ramdisk of ICJ and the kernel without ramdisk to get this work. If you split the boot.img the ramdisk is located in the out folder, generated on excute of the extractboot command. Copy this content to the kernel you want to use, so you replace the content in the out folder (you need to extractboot the other kernel to). After this run the packboot command and your new kernel will be named boot_new.img.
Changing governor and cpufreq:
For tweaking cpufreq's and voltage I recommend to use Trickster Mod. Also Performance Control is removed again from version (2.5.1/2.6) as it turns out to be a battery drainer again.
3-dot button:
"Settings" -> "Rom Control" -> "General UI" -> "Show menu UI overflow".
Fast charge:
Fast charge is a charging method for USB which makes charging faster by highing up the voltages levels, it now is compared to AC speed of charging. To use it is quite simple, as fast charge is activated by a statusbar toggle. Just enable the toggle (Settings -> Rom Conrol -> Enabled Toggles -> Fast Charge). If your phone is now connected with a USB it will "fast charge".
Change bootanimation if option in Rom Control doesn't work:
The bootanimation of this rom is located at system/media/bootanimation.zip. You can simply change it by overwrite the bootanimation.zip before you flash the rom. Altough do make sure you have a bootanimation with the right resolution. If you want a nice black and white AOKP bootanimation from djcsurf click here. Here is the original bootscreen of AOKP located (from old ICJ builds). Just flash in recovery!
Changing DPI - Play Store Issues (Multi DPI Play Store):
If you change the DPI of your phone some apps won't show up in Play Store. For this issue there is a multi DPI Play Store. You can find it here.

Ok.. Let the Fun Begin
Gonna flash this later (tethered right now lol) but can't use as a daily driver without BT (Sony Smartwatch and car headunit) necessities for me. If there is anything I can do to help with those let me know and I'm more than happy to put some dedicated time aside to help for BT. (Not *****ing by any means not flashed something in so long even flashing this on and off my One X will be fun no matter how many times )
Wait, I don't get this. Is this a new thread? :/

Maybe you should make two versions: one with BT and one with GPS. Or if that's too messy, you could make a poll and see what is more important to the people.

it's patch originally made for my Desire HD rom IceClodSandwich by Robin... I just did Setting option so you can chose it
I'll be adding that to ROM of course, but I want at least for the first version to be as pure aokp as possible.. it lowers the possibility of bugs and issues... at least until we sort OneX bugs on 4.2 base.. clear?

Yea, but I saw Trip's post about an either-or situation with GPS and BT. And I think that you'll have the BT up and running in no time, so it's gonna be either GPS or BT. That's just an assumption, it could be wrong and you could make both work

What is AOSP?
AOSP is Android as Google publish without other modifications. More or less AOSP is the Nexus devices stock rom without gapps. Anyway to get a working system me and @-+BB+- added some changes from CyanogenMod. We added also some non-AOSP features like init.d support, @alucard_24 kernel for better performance and energy saving, STweaks for advanced kernel settings and support for Over-The-Air updates through a dedicated app (OTA Updates). Maybe something else from us might be added, but please do not ask for features to be added because we're not going to add more to keep this ROM small, fast and pure.

Download
ROM builds are hosted on RomHut
TWRP Recovery v2.8.7.0 with F2FS management support: AndroidFileHost
Installation
TWRP Recovery v2.8.7.0 is suggested for installation
Devices supported: I9505, I9507, I9508, I545, R970, I337, M919, L720. (I9515 and I9500 are not supported).
AT&T and Verizon users: since your bootloader is locked, you must be on the UCUAMDB or UCUAMDL bootloader if you own an AT&T phone, otherwise if Verizon you must be on the VRUAMDK bootloader in order to use this ROM. Do getprop ro.bootloader in Terminal Emulator or through ADB shell to find out which bootloader you have
First time or clean install:
Download the ROM from the link above
Download GApps package for Lollipop 5.1
Put the zip files on your SDCard
Reboot in Recovery
Wipe Data / Factory Reset
Optional: convert to F2FS
Select "Install zip from SDCard"
Choose AOSP zip file
Choose GApps zip file
Reboot system
Update from a previous build:
Via OTA Updates:
Open OTA Updates app
Download the update
Press "Install"
Your device will automatically reboot and install the update.
Manual update with TWRP:
Download updated build from the link above
If you do not have the Gapps package, download Open GApps
Put the zip files on your SDCard
Reboot in TWRP Recovery
Wipe /cache and dalvik-cache
Select "Install zip from SDCard"
Choose AOSP zip file
Choose GApps zip file
Reboot system
We don't have a backup/restore GApps script yet. When you update /system is formatted, so you need to reflash GApps package too. In case you don't do it, Google Apps will fail in endless force closes after boot.
First boot after install/update takes a while, wait at least 5 minutes for it to boot.
To convert cache, data and system partitions to F2FS look in post below.

Thanks for the new ROM!
Good luck!
Waw! The first one! Congratulations! :good:
That's what we call a great Team!
This development was started 2 months ago from @-+BB+- that has done a great job... then his coming to JDCTeam has bring his project in the Team workflow... all our devs has given a shot to the code, so is the real first common project... we hope you will enjoy it, taking care that this is the initial release, so as reported by us, there are still bugs to be fixed.
Aosp sources from Google are for different hardware, and this requires modifications and changes to let it works.
Thanks for your attention.
So far so good with gravity box. But my ringtone doesn't sound, and I don't have an extSdCard installed. I know you guys don't support xposed but I don't think xposed is the problem.
OMG YES! Finally a Lollipop AOSP ROM for our S4! I've literally been waiting for someone to make it for a while. Thank you!
SuoerSU Corrupted
@AntaresOne
The SuperSU in the RomHut Link is Corrupted, As it's Displaying 5.79KB only !

These are both issues mentioned in the op - you probably don't have your ext sd card formatted to fat32 which is why you can't see it, and you probably haven't rebooted yet which means sound is likely affected.
Enjoy the new ROM and remember this is only the first release of this very clean AOSP source
This first build is so good - imagine what the future development is going to be like.
YES YES YES!!! I've used pure AOSP roms since Jelly Bean, I was so disappointed when the dev didn't do Lollipop. Now my prayers have been answered. Downloading this right away.
Just a suggestion, I think the OP should have a small guide to how to convert extSD to FAT32, just for the not so tech savvy

taskbar battery icon. does it have a setting for text? or do i have to live with the battery icon?
thanks!

You can install this, enable percentage and uninstall
I want to tell anyone that even if development started two months ago this ROM isn't yet ready for daily use for anyone. If you can't live without bugs do not flash it.
I can say that now it's more for experienced users rather than anyone
We'll tell you when it's ready, thank you for the attention.

thanks for the fast reply.
unfortunately link says "We're sorry, the requested URL was not found on this server."
but i will take your advice and go back to the optimised builds for now
i know you said you want to keep this as close to AOSP as possible, but would you consider implementing a few things into this ROM?
you know, casual stuff like the battery percentage, or quick settings pull down method, or a fancy reboot screen.
kinda like what Kryten2k35 did with the 5.0.1 GPE.
that doesn't have all the bells and whistles of CM, but it has some of the sensible, useful stuff built in, that the users would ultimately probably install themselves sooner or later.
anyhow, much intrigued by this new project, will be waiting for the moment you deem it safe for use
I'll try. Thanks JDCTeam. See you around here.

Anyone can answer why would I install it and not CM 12.1, is this better then the CM ?

Using F2FS
What it is? Wikipedia
To use it you should first convert your EXT4 partitions through recovery, before installing this ROM.
On PhilZ:
Wipe and format options->custom format options->toggle ext4 f2fs migration
Format data and data/media->f2fs (Warning: internal storage is formatted, make a backup of your personal data before doing this!)
Format system->f2fs
On TWRP:
Download and install this TWRP version: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347763625
Wipe->advanced wipe
Select data->change or repair file system->f2fs (Warning: internal storage is formatted, make a backup of your personal data before doing this!)
Select cache->change or repair file system->f2fs
Select system->change or repair file system->f2fs
Now you can install this ROM following installation steps in post above

We mainly talk in the i9505 thread located here, head over for further details about development progress, bug fixing etc.
Thanks for the ROM. It seems to be running pretty well so far. Is there a way to enable advanced reboot features on the power button? If there is a setting to activate it, I must be looking in the wrong area. Thanks.
I just might jump on over to this from The Sickness Touchwiz rom. I really enjoy what he's done with TW, but this rom definitely has some juice going for it.
Nice work!

It might just be, but it seems like the thread for the other one disappeared, do you if I just can't find it, or was it scraped in favor of this?
Edit: Is this ARM64 or just ARM?

Is there a way to turn off the battery charging notification led on this rom? I tried all the places that most roms have for turning off this feature and can't find it for the life of me.
Has anybody tried downloading (and installing) the Stock_Kernel based on Cyanogen Code located under "Addons" in the OTA app?
This rom changed my outlook on aosp and even deleted my 4.4.4 tw nandroids. Kudos
After flashing this ROM, I'm not getting 4G LTE on T-Mobile. I'm only getting 3G. Any ideas?
I'm on OH3 baseband and networks lte enabled check those out BTW I also use the f2fs and noticed great improvements

Going to flash this to my wife's S4 this weekend. She currently has OH3 baseband. Should I flash the OK3 via Odin before I flash this rom, or does the rom have the latest baseband in it?
Thanks!

Some notes about the new build....
F2FS is known to cause issues when we use SuperSU.I hardly suggest to use ext4 for all partitions
On the first boot u may have some browser and music FCs...not constantly though.Select the option to mute the notification until next reboot.
So ,give all the permissions to those apps and reboot when u setup ur device
On the next reboot you wont have such issues.
The folder link contains 2 ZIP files.1 is the aroma 1 is the NON aroma build for those who got issues with it.
Non-aroma build contains :
Alucard kernel
CM File manager
No Nexus apps
No SuperSU
AOSP camera only
Optimized LineageOS settings has got options to download all the aroma installer packages. To do that ,simply click on the desired package.
To make this work,u must have already give the proper permissions to your browser. You can download any package ,even if you installed aroma zip
Dont you want to make a fully clean install ? no problem.BUT.keep in mind that dirty install will keep ur old kernel changes even i made changes to kernel.
So
if u really want to make a dirty install and keep your kernel settings, simply flash the zip over the old one.(optional:delete system and dalvik before that )
if u really want to make a dirty install with the new kernel settings, delete the folder /data/.b--b/ from twrps file manager and then flash the rom as situation 1)
The late reboot time is a known issue on s4 with nougat roms.

Google assistant guide

Hi everyone
Just wanted to say that I got Google Assistant working on this ROM and it seems fast to work really well!
BTW the bug above happens to all devices that aren't pixel or nexus.
THE BUG WITH OK GOOGLE IS WORKING NOW..... SEE BELOW IN STEP 9:
GUIDE ---- I had to find lots of articles and looked through many guides because CM14.1 was slightly different to CM14 and android nougat. Because of how we flashed different Gapps it made the installation quite difficult. However after a bit of problem solving and determination I succeeded in getting Google Assistant on this great ROM.
1 Go to build.prop (I just used BuildProp Editor from the Play store, once in the app I pressed the edit button on the top right)
2 I changed "ro.product.name=cm_jflte" to "ro.product.name=Pixel XL" (I am not convinced this is neccassary but I did it anyway and it works)
3 Add "ro.product.model=Pixel XL" at the bottom (the ROM didn't have the ro.product.model bit that most phones seem to have...)
4 Add ro.opa.eligible_device=true after the above (Add this underneath the 3rd step)
5 Save the build prop then Reboot phone (Almost there)
6 Clear Google app data (This is to help ensure the process works)
7 Launch Google assistant as if you would launch now on tap so go to settings>functions> select home button >long press >select search assistant (OR SET IT TO ANY OTHER BUTTON YOU WANT)
8 Go to Google app settings and check you have enabled Google assistant
9Install the application and setup (credit to @masterchop for making this app ) ChopAssistant https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=choplabalagun.blogspot.com.chopassistant&hl=en
10 FINISHED! (Please read the rest below)
IF IT STILL DOESN'T WORK DO NOT WORRY ---- IF YOU FLASHED A SMALL GAPPS SUCH AS PICO GAPPS THEN THERE IS STILL 1 MORE STEP!!!
11 Now if you had to install the google app when you first setup the phone, then you need to move the file "com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox-1" from data/app to system/priv-app
Google Assistant for CM14.1, this guide covers most errors and problems you will face for installing it on any device including CM14 and Android 7.x
Reboot and NOW GOOGLE ASSISTANT should work with "OK Google" working too!
PLEASE LEAVE A LIKE IF THIS HELPED!
