Perfect timing indeed.
I built this back when MH5 first dropped, but never got around to cleaning it up and posting. The introduction of the Nexus 5 and Android 4.4 got me thinking about AOSP again. Soooo...here we are.
Hopefully we'll see 4.4 for the GT-I9505G soon. :fingers-crossed:

Nice. Looking forward to trying this. Thanks

Not really. All the GApps framework is there, but I removed everything except Gmail and Maps (basically anything you can get in the Play Store).
I can make a re-bloat zip if anyone wants it, but TBH it would be just as easy to get it from the Play Store).

Crap, now I see the 4.3. Sorry guys, my xda app sucks. It needs to be updated soon. It's not the apps fault I missed the 4.3, it was my blind excitement. I hope they can unlock this MF3 piece of crap. Bounty already exceeded 5 grand lol.

All set up fine Up--nice job--will fine tune tomorrow--
Off to bed, but was wondering did the GPE roms ever have a BlockingMode or Quiet Hours app?

im on Canadian(bell) S4, the Rom installed fine but i lost cell service. Anyone with similar prob/???

Yes, I also lost cell service. I'm with AT&T.

No blocking mode on GPE ROMs.
You can try something like Do Not Disturb Mode from the Play Store.

Both of you can try the faux kernels found at the link below. Please report back and let us know how it goes.

u = overclocking

Cool, will check it out and rom running fine--no issues atm
Good audio--

Did you create this ROM to get ready for the Kit Kat source? Is there an update on the horizon?

@upndwn4par
"Do Not Disturb Mode" app works great--:good:

I wanna keep using this so bad! Flash went ok. Only thing is I also have no signal as previously reported. I tried faux and KT kernels but nothing. When you manually try to add APN settings it doesn't save even after pressing save button.
Edit: I was using philz recovery to flash but switched to twrp and now I have signal with LTE!

Skyrocket 2.3.6 Gingerbread Build
Well well lookie what we have here. Thanks to mikeyinid and whoever else for getting the dump posted. I have completely hooked this **** up to work great on our phones. I haven't encountered any issues yet.
WHAT THE HELL DID YOU DO WHITEHAWK?
- Completely deodexed and zipaligned
- Includes OUR stock kernel (same one in Juggernaut)
- Fixed Wifi
- Fixed GPS
- Rooted with busybox
- Somewhat debloated (This is what was removed)
- Replaced AT&T bootup with stock Samsung
- Added init.d scripts for zipalign and set permissions
- Added some misc. build.prop tweaks and edits
- Added latest Market
- Enabled free TMO music in market
While I realize no "stock roms" are to be posted in the dev section, this isn't 100% stock. Modifications had to be made for it to work properly with our phones. Just sayin'.
**** YOU NEED TO KNOW *YES THAT MEANS READ ALL OF THIS!*
1 - There is no setup wizard even on a clean install.
2 - You need to enable "wireless networks" in GPS Settings (GPS WORKS!)
3 - You might find random AT&T **** scattered about. If you do please let me know
4 - Your BASEBAND will still read UVKID. The baseband is the modem, NOT the rom...
Installation Instructions
Same as every other rom you've flashed... but if you insist...
1. Download zip and place on sdcard
2. Boot into recovery and choose to flash zip
OPTIONAL - for a clean install perform a factory reset
3. Reboot
4. Wait a minimum of 10 minutes
5. Reboot
6. Enjoy!

What's in 2.3.6

[rom] crespo4g aosp kang 4.2.1 [build 3 ~ jan 10, 2013]

I thought we could all use a little more development for our device since it's been a little sparse, lately...so I've decided to do a little work
I can't take credit for development of any aspects of this rom....it's simply a KANG with an AOSP base from GreenBlue's gen chat thread found here please thank him for his hard work on the rom and wonderful guide!!!!!
I started with greenblue's vanilla aosp and added a few features from around the forum. Then I created a flashable zip of the complete rom with CWM 6.0.1.9, extracted the archive created, borrowed the META-INF from greenblue's rom, and created a flashable zip in ordinary plain file format, which we are all used to seeing.
Installation:
back up current rom
full wipe!!
flash with cwm
custom restore just the data partition (ONLY IF USING A PREVIOUS BUILD OF THIS ROM!!!)
reboot
**even if coming from a previous build of this rom, it would still be a good idea since there are some underlying changes in the system**
features
pre-rooted with supersu
gapps included!
camera sphere fixed (mod found here)
notification customized quick settings app (mod found here)
CM file manager included (I don't know why more devs don't do this...it drives me insane!!)
search button opens in app search instead of google now. to access google now, hold the search button down (mod found here)
Notification toggles app (I like this one because you can add multiple widgets to the notification shade and add a shortcut for any app to the widgets)
matr1x kernel installed (shout-out for mathkid...I'm back! lol)
Changelog:
build 3
kernel updated to matr1x 24.5
zipaligned
common ad hosts blocked (enabling a 3rd party ad blocking app disables/replaces this!!)
network tweaked for speed increase
init.d & sysctl tweaks
build.prop tweaks
Gapps updated (12-12-12)
email and exchange apks included!!!
build 2
voicemail bug, including the return to call bug in the lockscreen.
also fixes the phone apk force close issue when you end a call.
hhis version does not fix the 4g wifi tether bug!
all additional features from the previous version are present.

no, it will not flash recovery. as I mentioned in the OP, I borrowed the greenblue meta-inf, so even if the recovery.img that is backed up with cwm were included (which it is not) the updater script file in meta-inf is not programmed to flash the recovery partition

I've just confirmed 4g wifi tether works with a 3rd party app:
http://code.google.com/p/android-wi...etail?name=wifi_tether_v3_3-pre2.apk&can=2&q=
native wifi tether may not support 4g, but this app does
OK so I just flashed and setup everything to my like and WOW! this ROM is quick. So far everything works (calls, text, picture message, WiFi). Definitely a daily driver IMO. The only thing strange is that the boot animation deletes after first reboot (no biggie at all). Great job man

Help...when i installed the rom its saying system software bt AT&T has benn found on your phone

Couple of issues:
Contacts FCs - I found a flashable stock contacts that I flashed and that fixed it for me...
EMAIL (Exchange) didn't work for me - I had to install a stock version from another ROM by using ROOT Explorer and pushing the Sec Email and Exchange Email ap files to system/apps
Everything seems to be working good now -
Couple of things I have also done -
Installed NOTACH Exposed AP - lots of great options you can employ - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2285074
Exposed framework is already installed on this rom so it is pretty easy to install
I also had found a flashable Status Icons File called "trueicon62fix.zip" - I don't recall where I found it - someone in the TMOBILE Threads mentioned it I think - anyway - if you did a google search for that file you probably will find it - it gives you icons in the status bar that look really cool with this rom.
Anyway - all in all it is an awesome rom - and I am sure this is just the beginning! Thaks for the Great ROM!

I downloaded them from a few downloads offered by Jamison904 in the TMOBILE development threads on his "Infamous" ROM -
here is the Contacts link - http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23011596498370563
But I would imagine you could also pull the Contacts file from any STOCK rom you already have and push it to System/APS with Root Explorer....any way - hope this helps - by the way you should thank Jamison904 for this ... his thread is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2264932

IF YOU DO NOT HAVE AN SGH-T999 DO NOT FLASH THIS MODEM!!!
Prerequistes :
1. UEMJ4 Modem by @DocHoliday77
2. UCUEMJ2 Insecure pre-rooted, init.d supported kernel by @stratatak7 and @upndwn4par
Installation steps (step by step) :
1. Install the ROM.
2. Reboot once, and successfully boot the ROM.
3. Wait five minutes for the ROM to initilize.
4. Reboot into recovery, and flash the kernel and modem you downloaded above.
5. In TWRP, fix root permissions when asked. (I don't know about CWM)
6. Reboot and use the ROM as normal.

Mods / hacks :
1. Tether mod by abraham.ramirez
more to come soon...

Changelog from V5 (now short and sweet to the point) :
- Now using debloated base by @DocHoliday77
- KNOX/CarrierIQ removed.
- SELinux disabled in build.prop
- Root enabled by default through AT&T insecure kernel.
- ALL T-Mobile bloat has been removed.
- S-Pen support has been disabled.
- Note 3 Launcher included.
- Note 3 MMS (with mods) included.
- SamsungIME.apk (stock keyboard) has been removed due to a line jump bug.
- Swype removed. (It's outdated unless you pay for the premium version)
- Google Keyboard official update from November 7th included. (4.4 KitKat keyboard)
- Viper4Android (V4A) sound mod included. I wouldn't recommend flashing a sound mod. When prompted for drivers, install CortexA9 with NEON.
- Build.prop tweaks included and detailed. vm.lockprof.threshold has been modified from 500 to 750 in following with LiquidSmooth 2.37
- Init.d tweaks removed due to the current instability of root in 4.3 Touchwiz (will add back at a later date)
-
Contributors/developers/credit :
@abraham.ramirez for his tethering framework mod.
@friedrich420 for his Note 3 MMS and Note 3 launcher.
@enewman17 - For root fix in init.d
@Danvdh - For reporting his findings with prior tweaks.
@Aerowinder - For his work and contribution to the forums, and his Murica_v4 debloater.
@Maxamillion - Worked with me on attempting to figure out a way to implement init.d tweaks.
@loserskater - For initial AT&T leak and developing his own Framework module on Xposed.
@DocHoliday77 - For his continued work and support on his thread for the T-Mobile 4.3 Base and the release of the modem. Also a very good friend!
@saranhai - Part of the team, gives me insight, and helps me test slimmed down builds. Also has a kickass thread for both T-Mobile and AT&T!
@upndwn4par - For his work on rooting and hacking the insecure AT&T kernel.
@designgears - For his initial HEIMDALL release of the 4.3 AT&T build.
@WHOIZLUCKY92 - For his work on AT&T and T-Mobile S3s, ports ROMs like a beast, and helped port Note 3 MMS / Note 3 Launcher.
@jovy23 - For his initial discovery of unlimited tethering mod which others have used. Also for the Note 3 MMS / Note 3 Launcher.
@liquid0624 - For the build.prop settings I religiously include in any ROM I use. And for LiquidSmooth!
@stratatak7 - For his work on the AT&T stock kernel, we wouldn't have root without you!
Moderators for keeping the thread clean, and even providing feedback. Users for providing feedback and being patient, thanks!
Anyone I may have missed, please quote me and I'll add you, sorry but there's a LOT of people who contributed to 4.3 in way one or another.
All the mods who helped cleaned the threads,

To be updated and unlocked when official 4.3 rolls around! Until then please use Doc's leak or Saranhai's leak, they are both great!
I hope the kernel is holding up well for this ROM. It was a bit of a task to get it hacked at first, but we got it. For root issues, just reflash the kernel and clear caches.

Thanks for your hard work, it's working VERY well. Also, this works for AT&T if you guys over there want to flash it of course!
If you want to experience 4.3 as it is for the T999 (without any modifications as of yet) please visit @saranhai 's thread at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2501303

On the chart it said 11/24 and (LTE) next to it. Does that mean both LTE and non-LTE get it or only the LTE?

Normally, it would mean only LTE but I believe more people have the original T999 and they wouldn't want to make that many people angry. I mean, there's no definite answer, but think about it. We have a new modem for the T999 (It's not LTE) and there was already a system leak of 4.3 T-Mobile's Touchwiz S3 (Non-LTE) and it's what I've used to reference some stuff for this ROM.
Well, time to be a douche and be one of the first to AnTuTu to spam 4.3 T999 on the charts. BRB. (Joke obviously)

Q: What is Google Play Edition?
A: GPE is stock Android compiled by Samsung, it offers the stability of touchwiz with the aesthetics of pure stock AOSP. All drivers for Camera (Including HDR), Bluetooth, GPS, are official proprietary so there will be no issues.
Q: Why 4.4.4 kitkat?
A: This basically sums it up, 4.4.4 is regarded as one of the best releases ever, meanwhile 5.x is regarded as the worst.

Nice Dan. Was running dandroid on my s3 before I got the s4. Was wondering when I'd see some of your work over here. Jumped ship to att? Glad I can still run att roms on t mobile but I always come back to t mobile roms because of wifi calling. Downloading now to play around.

Any help with Samsung Link
Wonderful ROM Dan, Thanks for the upload. Great speed, and everything seems to work with no issues so far. can't get the Kitkat launcher to work yet, keeps requesting for google search even after installing, but I'm sure i can fix that.
It sucks to own the an expensive smartphone and yet be the last to get a routine update, damn Samsung.
Just a noob question if you don't mind. The only feature of TW i love is the Samsung link app. the fact that it flawlessly connects to my laptop for file exploration is just amazing. so is there anyway to install it on this ROM? I can live without it, but life would not really be the same.
