Screen Protector for Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 Thread - Kindle Fire HDX 7" & 8.9" Accessories

There isn't thread on Screen Protector for Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 here. Am I the first one?
Found this Screen Protector for Kindle Fire HDX 8.9. Did anyone get the Screen Protector ?

I own the 8.9 hdx and I was considering getting a screen protector. Just did not want to mess up this pretty screen.

I have found that anti-glare screen protectors dull the colors a bit, which you don't want to do with the HDX, the screen is too pretty. I got the skinomi protector (wet apply) but they cut the cut outs for the camera and light sensor wrong. I emailed them about it and they are sending me a new, correctly cut one. You can get some pretty cheap on Amazon right now, as the companies are looking to get positive reviews.

Ordered the iCarez screen protectors from Amazon. They are going for about $4.00 if you have prime otherwise it's $23.99. These are excellent. No image distortion or orange peel effect. I did notice that it felt a little rough, like my finger was catching the protector, so I used some screen cleaner which remedied that immediately. If you get these please read the instructions first and watch their video tutorial via YouTube. Couple of other folks who purchased these gave them terrible reviews for what sounded like user error. Top notch product.

Acase View 3-pack Kindle Fire Screen Protector for $1

Here's the link
But the gist of it is...
Through CTCStore via Amazon you can get a Acase View 3-pack Kindle Fire Screen Protector for $1 + free shipping if you have Prime with the code SE23TY9H.
Ends March 1!
Note: Not sure, if it'll work through Amazon but I worked for me when I went through CTCStore's site.
Sweet! I would defiantly use this if I din't already have a screen protector!
Not sure why you bother, the KF has a great screen that doesn't need a screen protector.

I would say if you take care of it, it probably won't get scratched. So you're probably in the clear
Though... I just bought a used one off Cragislist and it's in decent shape but the screen has 2 small scratches (more or less negligible during normal use though I guess) so I'd say that it depends on the person taking care of it.
I'm pretty OCD about my screens so I figure even if I don't scratch it maybe someone else will when they borrow my phone/tablet to "look something up" or "call someone" or something so I'm a pretty adamant believer in screen protectors.
If nothing, at least it gives me peace of mind

For the most part, this is true for devices with gorilla glass. However, there are some things that will scratch the screen.
And somepeople just want the feeling that it's protected whether or not it does prevent what would be a scratch.
cool. thanks.

Rearth Ringbo screen protector

Is the earth screen protector as good they say it is for the gs3?

I have one and I was quite skeptical but it has turned out to be really nice. I'm partial to the glass screen protectors but I have no problems with it.
It comes with 2x protectors and easy as anything to put on. The surface is really sticky, grabby at first but after a day it's smooth like butter. I guess because of your finger oils?
It's only been 2 days for me but it's holding up pretty well.
I also bought it and is very smooth on the screen after a day of use.
My protector does have a very very small (maybe 0.5mm) edge of the protector sides and bottom that didn't stick. (again this is because the curved glass I think) Although the protector is made to fit, the protector ends almost at the end of the screen on the sides and that's where mine has that small lifted area.
If you are one of those guys that are expecting something to the absolute perfection (like me lol) then you will see it.
I don't think this a defect product or that it will create bubbles but if something (like oil) gets under that lifted edge I am going to be disapointed.
This is not my first dry protector I have installed in a phone so if this protector doesn't last I will buy a wet install protector instead.
While looking for screen protectors, the ringbo one was the only one on amazon with good reviews. I ended up spending the $12 for it and it turned out very nice. It doesn't cover the whole screen because the S3 has curved glass but it completely covers all important areas on it.
I bought 2 other screen protectors and they didn't fit nearly as well so I'd definitely recommend the Rearth Ringbo. However, they have been experiencing issues with the tabs on the top layer of the screen protector not peeling off. If you have one of these, you can just call them up and they will send out a replacement.
I am currently using one, and it is fantastic. As others have mentioned, my finger would catch frequently the first day. However, now it is completely smooth. It is very clear, and I only notice it being there around the edges and not on the actual screen. Highly recommended!

Which screen protector?

Hey guys,
I need a screen protector which covers the whole front (not the borders). My Nexus's screen broke and I installed a new screen and now I can't find which one did I use earlier. It was perfect.
Attaching a photo of the previous one.
Thanks
I just bought the official Verizon screen protectors last weekend. You get 3 for 12.99. Just don't get the glare proof ones as they distort the color.

How do they fit?
i really have never used any screen protectors for my samsung phones. I never have had any scratches whatsoever and I am pretty rough with my phone.
Wow, really? :/ Not at all? Even I don't want to apply a protector. The Beauty of the phone dies!
I just got my Galaxy Nexus off eBay and I bought ArmorSuit MilitaryShield - Samsung Galaxy Nexus Screen Protector Shield with Lifetime Replacements
$9.95 from Amazon.com
I bought one an ArmorSuit shield for my Nexus 7 and it is GREAT.
I posted a review on Amazon.com, basically stating:
FLAWLESS installation. No bubbles, no overhangs, no dust. No "orange peel" texture like you get on the other brand (rhymes with Bagg). Save Money and get this TOP QUALITY protector. When I showed my Nexus 7 to my friends, they couldn't even tell that it had a screen protector on, and this one on my Galaxy Nexus looks just as great!
If you follow the instructions, (it is a wet install- but super easy) and take your time, you should get similar results. I will never buy any other brand of screen protectors.
I'm still using the same XO Skins from last December. It' still holding up great but I'm curious to try out this no screen protector thing now and see what happens.
I'll probably keep the screen naked. I'm loving the feel of it. And anyway, the whole front glass of the phone is just for 16$. :/
OR I might just buy the armor suit shield
Ghost armor is what I've been using since my S. Pretty transparent and it's slightly oleophobic so any oils that build up wipe right off. Dust likes to cling to the edges though.

Best screen protector?

I've tried the cheap ones at the mall and even my Element case came with a protector but none of them will stick around the edges. Are there any worth buying that completely stick?
I might try the ZAGG Invisible Shield HD unless someone has a better idea.
Thanks

I use the ZAGG and I love it. Haven't had a single issue with it yet.
Tippin screen protector goes to the very edges of the screen, and is supposed to stick at the edges quite well. I never tried it myself, and there are only a few reviews, but all 5 star on Amazon.

[REVIEW] COD iONIC Screen Protector - Anti-Glare vs Ultra Crystal

Hey Guys. Went ahead and purchased both the Anti-Glare and the Ultra Clear version of the COD iONIC screen protector for our Note 10.1 (2014 ed). Following prices are on Amazon as of Nov 1, 2013:
COD Screen Protector Film Matte (Anti-Glare) for Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition Tablet (3-pack) - $4.85 (+$3.85 shipping)
COD Screen Protector Film Clear (Invisible) for Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition Tablet (3-pack) - $9.85 (free shipping with Prime)
I took a few up close pics with my DSLR to compare text clarity, and also have a video review to compare in addition to clarity, light diffusion, and how they work with the S Pen. Also did a video to better compare not only text clarity, but also light diffusion, and to show how well the S Pen works with each.
After using both of these protectors you really can't go wrong with either one. But if you plan on using the S Pen a lot, go with Ultra Crystal and you will be happy. If you want to see these pictures in higher resolution, checkout the source images on my Project Log.
Mr. Armageddon's Project Log
I'm going to keep both of these protectors on for the next few days, so if you guys have any questions, let me know. :good:
EDIT: One thing I forgot to note, the Anti-glare also does a good job hiding finger prints, whereas the Ultra Clear is a finger print magnet.
Nice Review!
I also installed a matte anti glare screen protector. The brand is kwmobile but the cutouts look awfully similar to the ones on the video.
Regarding the s-pen. I replaced the rubbery tip with the plastic one (those were provided with the tabled). This actually gives great pencil and paper feel and does not feel tacky at all.

I've been looking for some screen protector reviews thanks for this.

Totally forgot about those other tips. The larger S Pen I have also came with those. I will swap them out and see how it compares. Thanks!

Thanks, I just ordered both of these last week to see which one I would like better. After listening to your review, I will probably go with the anti glare.
I ordered the invisible one on amazon last week, but when i got it i think its an anti-glare. i dont have the package with me today but im pretty sure it said "anti" on it. ill look tonight.
Just installed mine today. It's the crystal clear version. Looks perfect. Can't even tell there is a screen protector on.

what's the difference between these two?!
also it might sound I'm stupid, I have an anti-glare pair of glasses which I bought to prevent eye strain...does the anti-glare screen protector is to prevent eye strain?! or I will still need to use the glasses for reading while using the tablet?

so it says ultra clear on the front, but attached is what it says on the back. when applying it it looked like it had a little coating on it (gave it a rainbow effect) but now that its on i cant really see it, looks clear to me.

The Anti-glare cuts down on light reflection and diffuses overhead lights a bit. As to whether or not you will need to use your glasses, totally up to you.

Very nice review. I installed the matte screen protector yesterday, and I like it. But you definitely need to switch to one of the hard nibs for the s-pen. Otherwise, it "sticks" to the screen. Out of the five spare nibs that came with my tablet, two of them are the hard ones.

This should get better with time. I noticed that when I first applied the screen protector the stylus stuck, but over time this went way.
I bought a pack of anti - glare screen protectors from ebay and they are horrible, unbelievably grainy, render the beautiful screen useless lol...I do love the fact its anti-glare but whats the point when it makes the screen look terrible.
But I can't find COD screen protectors in the UK at the minute , Anyone using a good anti - glare screen protector in the UK...I want it to be like zero grainy as otherwise I'd just stick with a clear screen protector.
Sigh, I fail at applying these properly. I've already burned through my second and it still looks god awful. Hopefully my third and final attempt will be better because I keep misaligning the damn thing.
Edit: Okay so i managed to get the last one on perfectly..what I don't understand is WHY is there some random streaks of residue under the screen...?
Really unsatisfied here, I might just take this screen protector off when my case gets here. These streaks look really bad. Not even sure what its from. Also a little annoyed that the package showed up bent. After flexing the screen protectors a bit, there was still a slight bend, but they stuck on just fine. It's just the leftover residue that bothers me.
