Thank You All, and Goodbye! - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

NOTE: I didn't see a thread like this so I thought I would start one. If it's not allowed I apologize please delete.
I wanted to give
A HUGE THANK YOU
to all the folks on this forum! Like a lot of us here, I am selling my GN so my sister cheap and moving to the N5 when it arrives tomorrow, but before I leave here I wanted to thank you guys. This is by far the best android community I have ever been a part of. That reason alone is why I will never go back to a non-Nexus device. You guys kick ass. The Devs especially! But all of you are great, helpful and kind! I know I will see many of you in the Nexus 5 forum, but for those who won't be making the trip, I salute you! You have made being a Nexus owner a joy to me and many others for nearly 2 years now, and I can't begin to thank you guys enough!

Best of luck.

Thanks Guys!

I'm just about to make the transition from my Dash to my new phone soon. Just wanted to take a minute as a break from SIM unlocking, keyboard layouts, and $5.99 hack questions to say "thanks" to all the guys in the Excalibur forum who helped make my Dash the best smartphone I've ever had.
Through the ROMs, scripts, tips, and tricks offered here, I had a smooth ride with my Dash. Thanks to everyone who worked on the phone and offered mutual help to regulars as well as relatively patient help to newbies. Great group here overall!
Thanks man for writing that,
Also, what phone are you going to move to?
TAKE ME WITH YOU FOR THE LOVE OF GOD
i mean take it easy man =)

thanks again for everyones hard work!
Haha dang so many people are moving to the G1
my Excal has served me well for quite a while. Longer than any other phone has. In fact, I will probably keep it with me during the first few months, as I am sure there will be problems with the G1 of some sort or another. I am in agreement with the others, thank you ALL for everything you do to keep these Excal's going

Maybe ya'll should just change the name of this forum so you don't all have to leave. Sounds like almost everyone here has ordered, or is going to order, the g1. This place will be dead if all of you leave that have said you are. So when's the funeral? two weeks? Who's gonna be staying? I think Stylez is about the only one. Maybe we should pitch in and get him a new phone as well.
If NRG would have built the new rom I would have stayed
J/K, If the new one comes I will definitely be back for some rom love

I'm definately gonna hang onto my dash, best phone ive ever had!! Not gonna be easy to retire it all the way even after i get dream.

Just a BIG Thank You!!!

I have been reading the forums for some time now in hopes to someday root one my phones. I started reading about a year ago and finally rooted last week.
Root went great then yesterday I flashed my first Rom and oh crap anything and everything went wrong because I missed one step. Now what??? Read Read Read.
After a lot of reading I found my answers and fixed my phone, I couldn't of done it without you so Thank You for all the walk throughs tips and guides.
Successfully running CyanogenMod on my T-Mobile G2x Rooted with Super One Click.
Again BIG THANK YOU TO EVERYONE!!!
You are so welcome
You waited a year before taking the plunge, and you still messed up?? No offense. I just find that rather odd. Not saying anything so don't be mad. We all make mistakes. Take care. =)
I too want to say thanks to all you great gents& Ladies her for your time & patience with this old broad. I haven't been on here for very long but I find that I am way out of my league with you bunch. In a lot of cases trying to read what you reply of post is like trying to read Greek & I can barley read Enlish & I am a Canuck. I have loved my Streak but as I rarely use it anymore for anything more than a phone & the problems it has given me, I have put my sim & SD cards back into my BB and will just use it in my latter years. I may upgrade to a Galaxy but I don't know just now. So anyway I have put the Streak up for sale here in the to sell forum as well as the accesories forum & next week or so I will put it on Ebay, Kikijji or Craigslist. Again thanks for all the advice I have placed this forum into my favorites so I have a place to come to if I need expert electronic advice. Cheers Angela aka fysty-1 Dodds.

I would also like to echo my thanks to this site, to everyone behind it and all the contributors and wealth of knowledge that is assembled here. After finally having enough with VZW, I unlocked and rooted my GNEX and it's been absolutely wonderful! THANKS!
Welcome in guys!
I see you have decided to step out of lurking and perhaps become part of the community, that is very noble cause indeed.
Feel free to roam the forums you guys frequent and help other members with questions or issues that you once had, this way we can help perpetuate the greatness of the forum and save developers' time answering things so they spend it developing.
That may be the best way to show your gratitude.
I too want to say Thank you to the xda community!
I've been here for many things, questions, ROM, some help.

Hi all,
I too wish to thank the forum's contributors, without them my phone would not be rooted etc...........still it can be a 'daunting task' wading thru the 'info', especially when one does not have any background in this stuff........I literally need step by step instructions....
A Big Thank yous

Thank you xda community

I would just like to drop in and say THANK YOU to the xda community as a whole.
i am not overly knowledgeable about these things. and the people here have been such a huge help.
originally all i wanted was to optimize my new tablet when i got it (acer a501) did a lot of reading and decided i wanted to root witch was easy... but i hit a snag wile flashing from one rom to another.
and the help flowed in. fast and helpful responses. while i was freaking out thinking i bricked my new toy, my helpers were calm and on point, and got me thru it. and they had no problem taking the time to teach me things that i asked about. now im helping people with simple problems so the experienced people can take on the big jobs......until i learn
so THANK YOU to the devs, cooks, and all the knowledgeable people that make up the best forum on the net.
THANK YOU!!!
I'm going to second this one. I don't usually do florid thank-you posts, but I really do appreciate the work going on here. xda gave my phone a second chance at life; WinMo sucked battery life and performance, but with GBX0B my phone feels like it's at least a year newer.
Thank this page and all people who are intetested in modding of Android

I want to say thanks as well. I discovered this site through a friend. I came here, read through on how to properly install rom and then downloaded a rom and it worked So yes I am on my way. I am not completely new to the Android world but when you deviate you tend to forget things. This site is bringing it all back to memory and helping me discover new things.
I would like also to show my appreciation to this forum and for the many people that support it and it's users.
It is been great on my side and greatly helpful.
I too would like to send out a HUGE thank you to all in the xda community for the compounding wealth of knowledge and experiences within.
It's taken me a little while to get where I am today, but like all things... persistance pays... but could definately not have gotten there without you all.
Thanks so much for all the help! This forum honestly made it really easy to start rooting and flashing. I remember getting my first android phone this year and boy was it difficult figuring out what everything meant at first... Thanks for keeping my G2x alive and well
I would like also to show my appreciation to this forum and for the many people that support it and it's users.
It is been great on my side and greatly helpful. GJ XDA

A Thank You to all the Devs

Hey Devs & Helpers out there,
Just wanted to write a thank you to all the hard work you put in, gratis, for our device.
I cannot overstate how fantastic it is to have a wide selection of roms for our phone, as it gives the user so many options and things to look forward to in terms of updates, functionality, battery life, etc - the list goes on and on.
It's really made this website a haven, as well as an addiction for myself, and has also made my phone usage (and distractions at the office!) go through the roof. Whenever I use my phone in public, on the subway or whatever, I'm hoping there is another user out there who realizes the graphics / interface on my phone is unique, and can inspire them to "achieve" the same. Perhaps I'll even try to do a little programming myself at some point (although my CS101 class in college was probably one of my biggest challenges - and that's for an ME!)
Once again, best regards and much thanks to those hard working devs out there, who deserve nothing but our gratitude and support. Don't thank this post, thank all the devs who put in time day in and day out. Keep on truckin'!
Best regards,
-Dirk
Agreed. I was late to the game with smartphones...buying my DInc2 last July was my first. I was going to wait to root after my warranty was over, but after rooting my wife's nook color, I ventured over to this forum to see what was going on for my phone. Needless to say, it was probably two weeks after browsing this forum that I started enjoying what the hardworking devs have been up to.
I also wouldn't mind venturing into the development aspect of Android but my wife would kill me if I spent even more time on my phone.
I couldn't have said it any better, thanks all you devs and themers for all your hard work

+1 thank you all developers.
I have to agree. I've definitely been enjoying the results of all of the devs' hard work. Keep it up!

Here here!! Another huge thanks to all the devs out there using their personal time to make our phones (and everyone else's for that matter) well worth keeping! There's been plenty of times I wanted to tell a dev how awesome their Rom was but it's taken me some time to get past this 10 post rule. Lol.

haha, I know exactly what you mean. I'm more a lurker than a poster here, but i'm finding myself wanting to mention bugs or issues i'm having with some of the newer builds. That dang 10 comment rule!
...helps when I don't type the image verification code in the title spot
Thanks!

My take so far on XDA Developers

I guess you could say I'm still a newb when it comes to Android. I've had my GS2 Skyrocket for a half a year now and I'm so glad I ended up going with Android over my originally planned WP7.
I came to XDA because my friend pointed me here when I was anxiously awaiting news about the official ICS upgrade for my Skyrocket, and I've ended up kind of sticking around. I lurked for a while, checking out the forum and trying to glean what I could about the advanced side of Android (e.g. flashing, recovery, etc...) but I finally decided to join, partially because I wanted to "thank" people like Seanz who make the ROMs and software I'm using (still haven't figure out how to "thank" yet though. I'm guessing an advance feature that I'll unlock at 10 posts?)
So far, I'm pretty darn impressed with XDA. It's a VAST forum, fully alive (unlike my previous forum, Zuneboards, which was dying out when I first joined it.) The mods seem to do an excellent job keeping things on topic and clean, and I'm happy to not see too much flaming of the n00bs that occasionally seem to pop up. I used to be a moderator at the previously mentioned Zuneboards, so I'm pretty familliar with forum etiquette, so hopefully I'll be recieved well here.
Anyways, I hope to stay a while here and really get involved, as I think it's a lot of fun to get involved with a large community forum, and I've missed it since I left Zuneboards. Just figured I'd let you guys know that I'm pretty impressed so far and to keep up the good work! Thanks!
Welcome to XDA. It sounds like you won't need most of this, and please don't think I am offering any insults but you might find some useful stuff.
[GUIDE] How to be a New User (and not a noob)
Oh hey! So THAT's when I get the thanks button! Time to go back and thank the guys who made the stuff I'm using! Thanks for the welcome too.
