Case-Mate Barely There Cases

Just wondering if anyone bought one of the Case-Mate Barely There cases and what's their opinion about them. I ordered a black one yesterday and should receive it sometime this week.

I like it a lot. Protects the camera. Makes it aa little difficult to pull out the kickstand. Great case though.

ill post my thoughts when i get it in, i like it because it looks Slim, its hard plastic, its rubberized.

The case is fine for what it is, my friend didn't even notice I had a case on my phone.

I just got my Case-Mate today. Its freakin awesome. When it claims to be barely noticeable - its right. It feels like I'm holding my naked Evo in my hand !
The only downside per say is that its a little more difficult to press the power and the vol up and down due to the design. But its really just a case of me getting used to it. ( pun intended ) I came from an Amzer case that pretty much covered the Evo back including the power and vol buttons.
Overall, this is by far the best case out there IMO and I would love to get my mits on a white one!
Very sturdy, well designed, barely noticeable, highly recommended !

lol you're right. depending on how it lands. but i don't use the case for protection from dropping. just about every case breaks when dropped. i just use it to sit the phone on so i don't get scratches and to protect the camera.

The case I got from Sprint seems great and I've dropped it twice... once getting out of the truck, forgot it was on my lap, lol.
Other time, opening the door, so both about 3-4 feet.

Been rocking my case for about a month and I love it. Sometime I forget I have a case on it.

Yeah that white case is definitely not the case-mate case. I actually bought one of those white cases off of ebay about two or three weeks ago. Its an ok case but what I noticed about the case is the small amount of table lay that it has is slightly uneven.

Please compare the two when you get it in! i really want the case mate, a name i can trust also helps.. i just want white but if i have to get black so be it.
also the white one you ordered is it the same one i posted? there seems to be a few variants of similar cases.

No probelm...consider it done. As soon as the case-mate case arrives, i'll do a review of it. Hopefully the casemate arrives today but if not, I should have tomorrow for sure.

Press it out. Use your fingernail at the hinge end, starts it right out.

I finally received my case-mate barely there case today. I have to say that I like it. i like it better than the white case pictured that I got off of ebay. Anyways first off, the camera is well protected if you lay the phone on it's back side. As far as the front of the phone and table lay...there is none. The phone sits right on it's screen. But that's why you have to get a screen shield .
The kickstand is really hard to get to get to. It's like it's embedded in there or something. But it's cool. The feel of the case is smooth also. There's no texture to the case to provide any type of grip so you have to be a little careful. If you're prone to dropping your phone then this case may not be for you. On the other hand, it's fits perfect in my pocket with minimum to no bulging. The buttons are easily accessible.
All in all...I like it. It's well wroth the money.
Oh...an it also came with 2 screen protectors and a wipe cloth

Not sure if anybody's tried this case or posted a thread about it but this TPU case is less than 5 bucks so I figured I can't really lose much here if I'm not satisfied. I bought the other TPU case that's pretty common on ebay with the polygon design on the back and I hated it because it made the unlock button so ridiculously hard to press that I had to use my nail. I eventually ended up cutting the button out with a razor blade but I was still unhappy because I didn't like the polygon design.
When I saw this case I noticed in the photos that the button design on the case were circular instead of squared like the other TPU case and that the back design were just criss-cross diagonal lines which I thought looked MUCH better and the circular button design appeared to function a lot better from the photos although I wasn't quite sure but like I said I figured what the heck could I really lose but 5 bucks.
Anywho, I got the case in today and it's the PERFECT case that I've been looking for. It keeps the phone looking thin and the buttons are soft and easy to press just like I was hoping. It functions just like the black silicone case you can get from tmobile but still keeps the phone looking thin. I definitely recommend this case and I think it comes in various colors.

I can't really take any photos cause I don't have another camera but it pretty much looks exactly the way it's shown in the ebay photos. The fitment is great also. It's really well worth the 4.48 or whatever the price was lol.

I had something similar for my HTC Magic, the one issue I had with the case though is since it is silicone and not as hard as some materials, you have to make sure you keep the case in its shape; I flashed a new Rom on my Magic every 12 hours (which required to take the case on and off frequently) and my case started to become deformed and leave major spaces between the phone and the case allowing dust to get inside.
This is just my experience from a similar product but try it, it protected my phone from many drops without giving the phone itself any damage.

No these are made of tpu so it's not sticky like ordinary silicone skins. It's a more solid material. Doesn't have that rubbery feel that regular silicone cases have. I have the tmobile gel skin too and although it's much better then your average silicone case I didn't like how it added a lot of bulk to the front of the phone.

ahhh, i bought that, got it 2 days ago, i LOVE it.
it covers the front around all the way until the glass area so its very tight.
very flexible, and in my opinion i think it offers more protection than the hard cases because of the cushioning you get from the flexibility of the material, but its still very solid, pretty easy to take on and off too.

very nice case, great tight fit, minus the annoyances of all other cases I had tried

No that one is different. That case has a hard backing where as this case is silicone tpu all around.

Ah Ok, I was hoping it was somewhat simular. I could really go for another look. Black gets a bit boring after a while.

Just got this case in yesterday. I must say it is the best case for our phones. I like how the back is clear too. I did a lil graffiti on a piece of paper and slapped it in the back and it looks pretty cool. I wanna stick a $100 bill. I think that would look cooler than graffiti

Zenus Masstige Block Folio Case

Great Case I just got last week. Not too bulky, lightweight and looks great. Talking with the flip closed feels natural and doesn't distort sound. It feels soft to the touch and it has a great build quality. You can tell they took their time making this. The stand is also great because you can adjust you angle easily! I recommend this case!

As I found out yesterday, it's also very sturdy and protects the phone well... I was taking the Note out of my jacket pocket and it slipped out of my hand and dropped to the rough cobblestone street. I was dreading the sound of broken glass, but all that happened was a slight scrape on one of the corners of the case/phone.
It hit the ground on one of the corners, and nothing happened to the glass, even though it bounced pretty hard.
Very impressed.

I been using this case for a few weeks now and i'm very happy with overal quality and design. I purchased it to use as stand while watching videos but it also came out very protective as well. I add some pictures taken by me to guide people who are interested in this case

I also purchased this case so I could have it once I get an At&t Note. I ordered brown and the build quality looks amazing! It will definitely protect the screen. Now I just need to get that white Note to put in there.

Those pics above are good but you forgot a critical part of the case...
Its also a stand! And will be very useful.

I think brown is best choice to go with white Note. Actually i took those pics with my Note itself so I couldn't figure out to take pictures of the case with Note loaded.

Cool! I am getting a White At&t Note and figured it would look real nice with the brown. That black you have is really clean though.
Does it work well and is it stable enough at multiple angles when you use it as a stand to watch videos/movies?

I also came across this case. Though the Tridea diary case looks better than this but it doesnt have the cutout for talking on the phone with flip closed and also no kick stand functionality. So this case seems to be the best bet.
Existing owners can you tell me for how much u bought this case. Currently its on ebay for $27.88. Should I buy it compared to the tridea case and which color?
MOST IMPORTANT: Also does this Zenus case make the camera sink in further than the free flip case which comes with the phone?

I bought the case off ebay for around 28 dollars. Total it was 35 and got here in a week. The camera hole is sunk in so laying it on its back wont allow things to come in contact with camera, its deep enough. I say go with this case!

Thanks for the reply. I have a Black (blue) note, so which color would u recommend. I am really liking the brown one but I doubt whether it will look good with the black note.

Hi. Does the elastic band secure the case in a closed position? Also is it durable enough?

yes, the rubber band will hold the case closed very well.
...But how long it will last?
I just recieved the case, today.
I most say, it doesn't look like it will last long or forever.
But still... I think it is a great product.
I'll like the case even with a broken rubber band....

Here's my two cents..
-I recieved this case roughly a week ago and alreaddy the elastic band keeping it together is showing the white elastic inside (got the black cover)
-The stiches where the elastic is stiched into the front cover is widening.
-Very, very bulky.. I thought it would be okay but this makes the phone almost twice as thick. When normally my note slides into my jeans, with this case it had to go into my jacket pocket. Just saying in case you like to carry your note in your jeans pockets.
+It covers every side of the phone
+The grippy area makes it easy to use it as a stand in alot of angles
-Cant give it a 20 degree angle like I could with the SPIGEN SGP Stehen case, so when you're on a desk and want a slight tilt to the note.. can't do it with the zenus case.
Overall: It can't beat Spigen, but then again.. its 15 bucks cheaper.

My elastic band feels the same as it did when I received it 4 months ago. For what its worth..

They have different colors. I got the black one. Not bad for $12 with free shipping.
Took 14 days to arrive in Canada. Item actually shipped from Singapore and not Hong Kong (as it says on the ebay page)
Power button and volume rocker are easy to press. Although you wont feel any feedback from pressing these buttons. Typical of any TPU case.
As you can see, the TPU is textured for improved grip.
Rock Logo above the speaker cut out.
Protects the rear camera! No more worrying when laying your phone on any surface.
Front view with the phone. The TPU case extends all the way to the edge of the screen. You can put the phone face down on a table and it wouldnt touch the screen.
Rear view with the phone. You can still see the HTC logo and Beats Audio logo.
A closer look at the camera protection.
Cut outs are perfect for micro USB port, 3.5mm headphone jack and microphone. However, no cut out for the 5pin at the back.
Took the pic on a wrong angle. Cut out is actually perfect.
It comes with a free screen protector. Its not a perfect fit. The sides wont stick since the screen is curved.

EDIT : No need for a cut out for the 5 pin connector, it`s just about certain you could not use you phone in the dock with the case on anyway.

I purchased the clear, and on white from front and sides it hardly looks like a case, more like a halo or clear glow.
Took 9 days to arrive.

Colours came out a bit funky using my dhd but the clear case doesn't mess too much with the look of the X.

They don't advertise it as clear, but as "white" on their eBay page, I assume white = clear?

Love the white/clear Rock case. Might order another one for myself.

Grip is good, definitely gives a rubbery feel. Same as any tpu case I guess.
You wont get any better protection. Hard cases do not cover the top and bottom parts of the phone. Some even dont have lens protection.

People with the case, wanted to ask if you think the top front edge could be lower, by the camera?
In the photo you can see that the bottom edge curves round the front of the body further than the top.
Does this affect the protection at all? Basically I have a similar cheaper case but the front is a bit too high and does not protect the edge very well. Thanks

Speck Clear GemShell for HTC One - Mini Review

Hi all,
I've been a lurker for many years here on XDA and figured I'd try and contribute for once. Sorry if someone has posted a review on this case in the other threads. I looked around for a bit but didn't find any.
I received my Speck GemShell for my HTC One http://www.speckproducts.com/smartphone-cases/htc/gemshell-for-htc-one.html about 3 days ago. It's a hard plastic case with gel incorporated around it. BTW, for those considering shipping options, mine shipped out from Oklahoma so it reached me in Chicago in a day via the free shipping option (USPS). That being said, here are my impressions so far:
Pros:
- The case still leaves the phones feeling pretty slim (though I still do prefer it nekkid).
- It's clear except for a gel around the front rim, corners, and inputs.
- The gel around the front rim elevates the phone when placing it on its face.
- The gel around the inputs will hopefully prevent wearing/cracking of the hard plastic.
- Seems well sealed enough that I haven't seen any dust or pocket enter the space between the case and phone.
- The speck logo on the back is really well done. It makes it seem like it's a part of the aluminum.
Cons:
- The power button becomes really recessed. Not a deal breaker for me but definitely something to take note of.
- Interacting with the volume buttons requires more effort.
- I'm OCD on keeping fingerprints off my phone/case and the cleaning has left micro-scratches on the case. So far it doesn't interfere with the appearance but we'll see after a longer period of time.​- Wish the gel actually covered the entire sides, top, and bottom for better coverage. Even with the clear plastic, you don't really see the aluminum on the sides, top, and bottom.
So you can see the selling point of this phone is not only that it's a clear case but the gel that they've incorporated into it. I'm a bit sad on the micro-scratches but I'm not convinced there's any other case-based solution that would be cost effective. I've attached pictures of the case below.

Thick, will turn yellow after a couple of weeks unlike other hard clear cases (such as the Spigen) and it's not very clear. Its very visible on the phone and defeats the purpose of it being clear.

I just got this case in the mail over the weekend (still waiting on phone) and The case feels rather flimsy on its own and is incredibly thin. I have no doubt it'll protect against scratches, but feels like it'll do nothing for drops. I didn't expect Otterbox protection, but was hoping for some kind of impact absorption. Anyone have any experience with these cases and drops with previous devices?

Actually I went into the Sprint store on Thursday the 18th & purchased the white & silver speck case cor my HTC ONE that I was receiving in the mail the next day on the 19th & liked my case on it because it matches tne phone perfectly & fits it really tight like a body glove. It's hard to put on & hard to take off but I saw the clear gel case by speck o line yesterday morning & wanted that one because it will show my phone all the way around, I just dont want it to loosen up over time but this one I do have by speck is a hard shell case on the outside but a softgray rubber on the inside

I have ordered the black one but it is still in post. Can someone tell me whether it adds any bulk to the phone? I bought a cheap one from ebay till my speck arrived and im completely satisfied with my cheap one and i hope speck is not bulky.

I was completely surprised at how thin the speck is. It's hardly noticeable.

I've had mine for two weeks and it's VERY yellow. I'll post pics when I can. I've had other clear cases before, hard and soft, but never had them turn yellow like this one.

I'm not sure of anyone has mentioned as o didn't read entire post. Leet414 u may try that compound they sell for headlight lenses to get scratches out. May be a stretch but that stuff works.
