I've read threads here with some people saying that there will be no Xperia Play 2 and then I've seen some others on XDA Dev hint that Sony might be pursuing this. So has anyone heard anything at all.....any new news.....any hints....anything on a Sony Xperia Play 2 (or whatever name they decide to use)? I've had my rooted Xperia Play r800x for almost 3 years and it works perfectly and I refuse to upgrade to another brand in hopes that Sony will put a 2nd version of this phone on the market sometime in 2014. So any news? It would be greatly appreciated. Thank You!

So a few days ago I'm sure you all saw that Sony renamed the Playstation Suite to Playstation Mobile, and that HTC is now on board with creating PS-Certified smartphones.
Does anyone actually know when the release date for this is (no amount of googling has found me an answer), and whether it will definitely be compatible with the Xperia Play considering Sony decided not to upgrade it to ICS?
I hope we at least get a proper release in NA just like in EU right now.

PSSuite/PSMobile is a scheme, allowing developers to publish apps to PSStore. Because of this, we actually already have the store for it, and the beta launcher is available for gingerbread, so I highly doubt that they will skip the play.

You should post your request in:

that way the MODS will see your request quicker and will add your request to the other users

I'd like to know as well. I have this phone and I'd love to install cyanogen or at least find some mod for the navigation bar. I've made the request, but I doubt that they will add it as it seems not many people own this phone.
There does have to be a certain level of interest (ownership) to warrant adding a new forum as it does require server resources. No way around that.

You're in it.
You can't use arc roms or kernels on the pro but there are some roms and ports for the pro in the dev section.

yeah i have seen videos on youtube that says that there are rooms and kernels for xperia pro in xda developers page but i saw the list of forums in "all" and "top devices" and "search (introducing the model)" seccion and i couldn't find the post....can someone post the url of the xperia pro rooms!!

Hi,
several users told you already - the Xperia Pro lives in the Xperia Arc forums.
You will find posts labelled with "{PRO}" or "[PRO]" and sometimes "mk16i" or "mk16a" or even "iyokan".
Be sure to use the search functions of the site before opening new threads and use the above labels for better search results. Especially, try to avoid the search term "Xperia pro" as it will dominantly lead you to the device "Xperia mini pro" which has a much broader user base (and which has its own "rooms" on this site). This is true for searches on the Internet too.
You will find loads of tweaks and information in the Xperia Arc Android Development forum.
Read the splendid thread in the general forum about available roms.

All 3 of these phones are similar in software
in terms of Hardware.
I also find it strange that they merged the forums since the kernels and roms are not the same. Strange things are happening.
I was wondering why I didn't see any thread on my phone (except development section). Now I know why - Maybe to save Space but clearly shouldn't be merge in my opinion. Similar but not the same, if you're not careful with the mods - you get force close all the time.
Yea I see this causing a real big problem and I cant see the Dev section at all.
I also noticed how it takes you to P, U, Sola and Go forums when you type in your device at 'Find Your Device' bar.

Understand why they merged forums ,think it was a smart move mostly all 2012 phones hold the same hardware even look the same.only problem am having is viewing everything on the xda app. on the computer i have no problem viewing r find stuff.

It is not me but another Admin who is dealing with this. The User Experience Admin Svetius, he might be able to tell you more. I believe recently Xperia S threads have been relocated from P, U and Sola group to this one. I'm not sure if I am the only experiencing this but clicking Sony Xperia S in the Find your device search box in the top navigates to the old forum page. If this is need of a fix kindly look into it.
