Hello,
i´ve just bougth an Asus FonePad 7 wit Intel z2560 soc. Does anybody know how to root this device?
Already tried motochopper, framaroot and Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry_v31, they did not work.
Any help would appreciated
I have bought Asus Fonepad HD 7 ME372CG would be great if someone could root this device for us and maybe some ROM developing soon, the device has great potential!

Have you tried Cydia Impactor? i've read in some thread that it can but not sure if it was for previous fonepad version
Let me know how it works, im interested to get one myself as i just bricked my GNote N7000.
Cydia Impactor doesnt not recognize the device at least on my PC Windows 64bit, i can only use the fastboot commands but they still return as "Unknown OEM command". It may need the drivers but asus havent released drivers or img/raw of the firmware so far.
Edit: I managed to make cydia impactor recognize my device but i get "signature bugs unavailable" i tried all the kind of options nothing worked apparently

You cant root it with VRoot sorry. So far i cant seem to find any one-click root tool that works.

We need a Fonepad ROM. Recompile it, put SuperUser and Binaries inside, compile it and install it on device via System updates. This is how it works on old FonePad.
Is there any solution yet to root the asus fonepad 7 ?

Cydia impactor recognize my device as in shell shows: [email protected]:
and i tried to put su binary or doing anything else but as i dont have a correct driver for adb ( asus driver i mean) then i couldnt face any success!
if anybody give me an updated driver then maybe i can help in ways!
btw,ive updated my device to latest build 5.1.6 (4.3 JB android)

I have an Asus Fonepad 7, LTE version ME372CL/K00Y.
Want root on this device, but can not find any solution.
I have tried so far:
1 MEHRDAD595 solution (use root5.2.5.zip) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=51454108&postcount=1
2 maxz solution http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=53227283&postcount=157
3 Combination 1 and 2
4 Have an update file from Asus, Build update from 4.1.0 to 4.1.1. Merge files from ASUS with MEHRDAD595.
For all solutions, the update is performed (no error message), then the unit a factory reset through.
Why, when I make a mistake?
It must be added is still that fastboot unlike adb does not work for me. Therefore, the gelagen updates via sdcard and Droidboot (SW DOWNLOAD) into Fonepad.

Additional Info: On Linux fastboot does not work still, with Win 7 on the same computer it works. Unfortunately, the same result, root does not work.
Did the update offered by Asus installed build is now 4.1.1. The current build.prob

I have a Fonepad 7 LTE WW 4.1.1 as well and I want to enable usb mass storage cause I'm linux user and MTP sucks on it so I guess I need to root my device.
Before testing by myself could you confirm that your Fonepad is not in the repair because you try to flash the zip File "root_K00Y_4.1.1WW.zip"

My device is because of the phone function in the repair. Could not test the rootkit from fussel323.

ASUS currently rolls out Android 4.4.2 - my Asus Fonepad K00E and K00Z have it. So what about waiting a little bit and update & root directly the new Android version firmware? But if you don't want to wait, i can do it for you - in this case ask me a second time

What software version is your G3 ????
Sounds like you are on 10l or newer. As far as I know you need to use purpledrake to root, so therefore you need a computer. I'm sorry

Try with rooting application(like kingroot , they may not work on pie),even iam also trying to root my phone running android pie (Nokia 6) but because of no bootloader unlock, iam using as it is.if u try to root or modify the device without unlock ,it may lead device brick sometime it's hard to recover.
If I found any method for rooting your device definitely I will let you know. Can you please share the APK
