[Q] SM-T210L CWM? TWRP? Working one... - Galaxy Tab 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a Korean version of Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 SM-T210L and lots of korean language bothers me very much....
May I flash it with firmwares for SM-T210 but avoiding bricking it?
Or maybe there are working CWM or TWRP for this device at least?

I have the same Korean SM-T210L version and tried the firmware available for SM-T210. It didn't work, it hangs upon booting, showing the Samsung brand. I'm still looking for a solution.

I second that. We could really use a working 4.2 build!

#3 and #4: Since my SM-T210L is no longer working (after installing the SM-T210 firmware), I guess it would be of little use if I upload a system dump from my device. Please advice, I am lacking of experience.

Tried to ask samsung support here in germany today for a factory image, but they dont have any... They redirected me to a company, that repairs these devices for them, so I ll contact them tomorrow.

hmmm. another dirty trick by samsung. They fail to provide stock firmware to lots of devices. If the other guy responds I could help get the tab up and running. If it's partitions as I imagine stock would just be system and boot . My Galaxy Exhibit t599 was the same way without factory images

Doesn't KIES provide an "emergency" restore? If not all the more reason for you to try and get a system dump . Maybe you know someone who has a working tab? (Korean tab models aren't very common here in Berlin... )

No, unfortunately KIES is not capable of updating the firmware. It seems the SM-T210L model is not supported, too bad. Thank you anyway for the suggestion!

New Tab update
Hi all,
My kid was given a korean SM-T210L version Galaxy Tab 3, the android version installed on the tab is 4.1.2; unfortunately it does not allow me to upgrade any further. is there a root version that will allow me to update the operating software.
I have never rooted a phone or a tab before therefore will really appreciate any assistance.
Thanks,
Zach

To restore original version 4.1.2, I used below link.
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1zwvavvfWEMvzSMMc970N_uIsgrdn1bag
I tried twice with Odin 3.09, my tab was restore. For first fail, I don't know why to fail. But in second try I was working.
I wish that it will be helpful for you.
Also I am looking for upgrade version 4.2.

Solved - Rooted SM-T210L
(sorry to new to the forum to post actual links - reply if you need them)
I was able to root my SM-T210L using the same method that everyone else is posting, Odin (version 3.12.3 in my case) and using this compressed file T210.TWRP.2.8.0.0.tar.md5 You also have to copy SuperSU to your tablet (either on a SD Card or through a USB cable onto the device memory directly) search for SuperSU
Here are the instructions (most complete in my view) that seemed to be able to work for me. Go to droidviews site and search on the model to find the instructions.
Even though the image file does not have the model SM-T210L specifically, I did not have any problems with it and was able to root it successfully. I then was able to delete all of the bloatware that came with the tablet, especially all of the Korean based applications that I can't use.

Is there anyone who still have the SM-T210L firmware? Please give links for download.

Thank you, Mr. tsarkh! Several questions though, if you please:
1. My WiFi-only Galaxy Tab is "GT-P1010" model for USA, what would be the difference compared to your "P1010" firmwaress? In other words, are they compatible, or I end up with default Arabic locale I wouldn't know how to switch back to English?
2. If everything is OK to flash "P1010" firmware on my "GT-P1010" model, then what other letter designation (like "P1010XWKC" or so may mean in terms of compatibility? My point is Samsung Web site won't give me these detail, whereas back of unit is simply states that my model is "GT-P1010" with no additional letters?
3. What flashing program you'd recommend for me, plus is there any recovery (to my stock) would be if something goes wrong?
Thank you again for your prompt answer, in advance.

Hi:
I was intrigued with your comment, Can you explain how you do that? I have limited exposure to KIES and when I tried to do an emergency recovery to get stock my device did not show up in the window. There was a prompt for a recovery code. I have no idea what that is about or where I would retrieve such a code. Thanks!

shortly:
kies3 -> connect the device (the drivers will be installed) -> select "tools/firmware upgrade and initialization" -> click yes and accept to everything ; skip backup -> some components will be downloaded and installed on PC (the device will not be affected) . At this point the appropriate firmware start to download in a temporary folder. Discover this folder via an appropriate tool ( like procmon from sysinternals.com filtering the sm-p605.exe process - in my case C:\Users\"username"\AppData\Local\Temp\tmp3C06.tmp). when the download is finished this file is renamed from .tmp to .zip and inside it you will find the firmware (.tar.md5). Hope it helps

Hold my hand updating to MK1

Hey guys
I know its probably been asked a few times before but i just want to make sure i've got the right stuff to upgrade my P600. Heres my circumstances....
1. Un-rooted and would like to remain that way (for now)
2. P600 note 10.1 running MJ6 firmware
3. Living in the UK
Anyway, i've downloaded ODIN v3.09 but im not sure on which region MK1 update would be best to go for? If possible could someone post the link to the one most suited for me (I'm thinking US) and a guide relevant to what i'm doing with this device and update.
Cheers lads,

Hi,
Samsung updates go alphabetically, J, K, L if you follow me. ML1 is the latest, Taiwan region but it's fine. (I'm UK as well using ML1)
Use this guide, there's links as well. Ignore the bit about having root in the first place it's fine just follow the guide in the second post:

In that thread there are mirrors for stock firmware because Samsung ones are very slow.

Cheers mate, seems simple enough
Will it wipe all data on my tablet? Also alot of people recommend doing a full wipe after the update. Is this a must or is it just like PC's with changing graphics card drivers (Just to start fresh?)

It shouldn't wipe data unless you do it yourself. I've updated myself without wiping but it is best to wipe data to prevent any issues/errors.

Problem is, samsung never release any changelog, they just give numbers. Changelist called. Higher means later version and more changes, but what changes... that just knows samsung
All I know is that, the new update is always better than stock. It could be faster/optimised or it can be a surprise! The nov update seems to get better performance is what i know

I had the same problem with the cellular southern firmware numerous times then tried again after factory resetting first ,loading the firmware, followed by restore with titanium backup, with success. Feels much better with this firmware by the way☺

With this firmware here?
Yes in caution I re download the firmware here and attempted both dirty and post wiping flashes, post wiping flash worked for me. The failure occurred at the loading of the hidden section
So I flashed the T700 firmware, coming from CWM and a CM12 ROM from this board, and now my tablet is completely stuck. It got past the first part of booting, but it's stuck at the final Samsung logo. Won't respond to any sort of button combination to restart it, even when I plug it in. Is there a way to restart it, or am I screwed?
Am looking for the Swiss t-700 firmware ANL1. It's showing on sammobile, but unable to download. This seems to be the latest version.
Update : using this now.

Wrong firmware, you need to load firmware for the G920P, someone loaded the incorrect rom on your phone most likely.

This actually happened to me also u must had bought a used one through a retail shop .... Most likely ur imei no. will also be changed u just made the biggest mistake of ur life by buying this fraudelent phone shop keepers do this because no one wants to buy a carrier phone in the market so they use a custom rom in the phone into thinking its a real phone i.e G920F without the carrier that is after updating into its real rom check the imei and match it from back im 100% sure it will not match ..This is called Imei spoofing and is illegal in many countries..i think thread should be sticky to avoid people from being scammed into this..i advice you to help other and sell ur fone as quickly as possible and next time when a buying a samsung phone go to odin mode and check for model no.
