Still Data issues on your phone? I got your fix! - Sprint LG Optimus G

I'm not on sprint thats why data has been an issue for me since the first day I flashed my phone to Tricom(Dominican Republic). I tried so many roms but the only 2 where I get data working where Stock and EOS 4. I wanted to be on the latest version of android so I flashed Carbon and data wasnt working so I decide to figured it out. This is what I did:
1.MAKE A FULL BACKUP OF YOUR CURRENT WORKING SYSTEM.(If it doesnt work for you, you still can go back)
2.Get the zip file of the rom you have data working.(I tried with EOS, Not shure if stock works)
3.Extract the /system/etc/ folder and place it on your sdcard.
4.Now, on your rom with no working data, get a file explorer with root permitions.
5.Copy the "etc" folder on your sdcard and paste it in /system/
6.Set permitions to 0755
7.Reboot
That worked for me, Hope this help someone else.

The ics gapps should be installed like any other rom.
You install the rom and inmediatly install gapps.

No Superuser has been an issue with the last 4 Epsylon3 releases with CM9 on multiboot according to the Defy forums. I just finished installing CM9 on multiboot, but didn't use it because I'm uploading CM9 unused so whoever decides do DL it can use the First Run Setup Wizard....I'll test it out and post back within a half an hour.
I checked....no superuser on multiboot....the option doesn't even appear in the settings menu...Same as on the Defy.
Yeah, that sounds right. I'm using multiboot to test ICS. I really like the new Gapps, so I might switch to CM9 as primary anyways!
Thanks for the replies!

Well, the new Play Music sucks, or at least Google songs on the cloud part does...Although you can just copy songs from Google Play's cache...but 3 songs were 30mb, and that'll eat bandwidth up in no time....bad idea Google.
@Josuearisty--Have you ever tried using a $20 prepaid Visa for Amazon\Google Markets? Its what I do for my free songs\app of the day, and might be a solution for Non-Americans to access American Markets along with using Market Enabler (Link). Basicly, Market Enabler spoofs Market into thinking your from a different country. I'm actually going to start including Market Enable in my roms to help out international users.
I hope this helps you foreign guys out.
for those of you who want to change the LED for battery charging and access the multitouch pts., compass calibrator, baseband switcher, you'll notice that it's in the rom but not in the settings menu..
defy user, matiasjrossi, has come up with this handy app to finally access those! please thank him and see the following link:

Wow, I never noticed. Thanks. Now I have to update my threads....I always edited build.prop for LED and Multitouch...I didn't even notice baseband or compass; I saw then on Epsy's last rom I used and figured they'd be there too.
Is this a Multiboot glitch like Superuser, or just a glitch in general???

Thanks, I saw it yesterday forums.
For us who live outside US we need to change baseband switcher so that our 3G works.
But why quarx is not adding it to the rom?
I think we need to let him know about it, will it go forever or what?

Actually, the US Baseband is wrong as well as the APN. I just never noticed because baseband is one of the things I change without even thinking about it. After Months of using Defy Roms, old habits are hard to break. (Plus I did baseband switch before I realized it was bad APN)
I'm having a Bluetooth issue. When paired with my car, the music drops at a regular interval. I've been messing with CPU governors and thought that might be the cause, but the problem persists when the phone's at full throttle, too.
Anyone else notice Bluetooth connection issues, or have a suggestion for me?

I try doing it too but no success, I think you should flash first a custom rom, then you will be able to flash touch recovery and it will for sure work.
I will let know about some test I make!
I'll be honest, I didn't try it, but it will work. That's really not a bad idea and would work with any phone Gingerbreak works on....You should release that in Android General.
I would use it, I'm just too lazy to flash an sbf and then set my phone back up again. I'm happy with my Bravo for the moment...and its my onlyl phone...That really is a simple, yet useful, solution.
gracias

--------------------------------------------------------
If you have adb installed on your pc, using this one will cause no problem to the phone or your pc.
Your antivirus detects gingerbreak as a virus because of an exploit command inside the apk file, you can deactivate your antivirus and use it with no problem, no risk with it.
I'll add, s1c/rage against the cage/gingerbreak all show up as viruses because they are. Not kill you PC virus, but virus none the less. Technically they're exploits, but still get picked up by scanners.
Gonna need some testers for LINUX and MAC, when its ready I will you know people!
Working great!. Will flash a Rom right now . Thnx to make our life easier!.
Took a few flashes, but I got there in the end! Great stuff, thanks!!
Worked like a charm. Thanks!!

Resolved - [email protected] get PIT for mapping

Ive searched the forums and googled this to death and am having trouble finding an answer. I am trying to root my s iii, i have drivers installed. i have all other drivers from all other phones uninstalled. do not have kies installed and odin recognizes my phone just fine. i have odin properly setup, with my cwm tar in the pda but everytime i try to flash it gets stuck at the Get PIT for mapping. after a few mins it fails. ive tried several times, using several different usb ports, keeping all other usb ports free, and using the factory cable. Any help here would be greatly appreciated. thank you in advance:beer:

I had this happen to me as well. The way I fixed it is after it stalled, I unplugged the USB cable from the USB port and plugged it into another port on my PC. It installed the driver again and the process resumed and completed.
Best of luck.
Thank you for the reply. didnt work for me but ill keep trying:thumbup:

2. Flash KT-SGS4 Kernel SGH-M919 with Mobile Odin Pro to fix WiFi issues.
3. Flash your carrier's modem (Mine is Telcel - Mexico) using Heimdall (ODIN for Mac OS X, you can use ODIN if you have Windows) to fix Mobile Data issues.
If you have questions about how to do any of this things you can search for step by step guides of how to do each of this things in google. Everything is fairly easy to do.
My Galaxy S4 Model is SGH-M919V.
I flashed stock i9505 4.4.2 (I9505XXUFNB8) and experienced some issues with WiFi (wouldn't turn on) and Mobile Data (Unreliable/intermittent). Everything else seems to be working fine.
I was able to fix the WiFi problems by installing Jeboo_Kernel_i9505_NB8_Feb24
I'm still having issues with the Mobile Data (random disconnections/signal lost)
Any suggestions? Everything else seems to be working fine (WiFi, bluetooth, NFC, internet tethering, etc.) and I'm not sure if I should be looking for a new Kernel or a new Modem. Please help me.

Yes, you can flash i9505 roms to you SGH-M919/SGH-m919V as far as I know. But you may experience some problems like WiFi not working or mobile data signal lost. I managed to fix the WiFi issue by flashing a new Kernel (Jeboo_Kernel_i9505_NB8_Feb24) but I'm still having mobile data issues. And I'm not sure what else can I do.
I flashed the rom and Kernel using Mobile Odin app.

Gracias

I recommend you use Mobile Odin Pro, that's what I used to flash the i9505 4.4.2 stock rom with no problems. You just have to be rooted and put the .tar.md5 file in your internal or external SD. Once you do that you can use Mobile Odin once again to flash the kernel I mentioned in te 1st post, that will solve WiFi issues. And finally, if you are having problems with mobile data you can search for your carriers "modem.bin" and flash it using desktop ODIN. That's what I did and now everything is working fine.
Dude Tnx, I tried with another snapdragon stock rom but battery drains too quickly.
The fix work with custom roms like carbon or PA?
::XDA rule you can use another language but you need you put english translation::

Thanks, man. I did not use your particular link, but you're doing The Good Man's Work.
My only question is... is there a way to know that the full image has not been tempered with? I ended up using the one from The Android Soul that I linked to in my thread. Part of me wonders if they could've been modified or not.

Try to doit a full wipe & cache in recovery, im in this update and works fine for me, actually, is better Idle battery, with my other version lost 20%! of battery when i sleep, with this path i only lost 6% during night. Try to write first in english, then you can explain better in spanish.

My last update was september patch cph1, let's say i skip the october patch, can i go directly to this last patch update? I'm using odin as i live outside US region..
Hi All,
I have a Note 5 N920A running Android 5.1.1 and build number N920AUCU2AO16. I want to upgrade tyo the latest software which i believe i can from the links posted above (*N920AUCS4CPK1*).
I, however haev one question as this is the first time I am doing anything other than an auto OTA update. Mine was an At&T phone which i purchased in the US on ebay and it was an unlocked one adn i currently use it in the UK with no issues. By upgrading to the latest stock firmware, will i lose the unlocking or has the update nothing to do with unlocking ? Please help.

Hi, you can install whatever version if you use Odin, can skip from lollipop to MM if you want, no problems with that, but some peoples said to this version blocks the bootloader (cant rollback to LL), in my case i had the boodloader blocker after and dont care for me, you can check if you have the bootloader block in the screen of upgrade (odin mode) if said secure download enable your bootloader is block. For me, this version help me to save battery xD so, its geat for me xD.

If you have a factory or IMEI unlock dont worry for lose it, change system not affect unlock, however if you have a home unlock you will lose it, The most certain is that your phone is factory or imei unlock cause i never seen a home unlock for this model, you sould doit whitout afraid.

Not have a way to know it, but for now, note 5 doesnt have a home unlock (except maybe Sprint variant), so your phone is most probably factory or imei unlock, you can actualizate without afraid.

Hi bro, you have donwload this uptade? the files on this post are made for odin (have 4 parts+pit) is not a flashable OTA (flashable zip), this is a complete rom if you want to flash it by adb maybe first you need to convert this on a flashable zip, so, this is a complete rom you can flash from wherever patch you want, adb is most used for some ota's patch (in this case is not only a patch, is a complete rom w/patch), you need use odin this time.

If you have only a patch of 24 mb you can sent it by sideload like ota, but you need to install first the other patch ( need to install all patch from your version of SO to this cpk1) this is in case to you want use adb sideload for actualizate to cpk1 you need install every patch from your version until this (install each patch released from your version to cpk1 in order), but if you dont wanna install any patch you can donwload the files from smxwang (this post) it is a complete rom with all patch. Sorry for my english xD im learning it.
Resume:
ADB sideload used to install OTA actualization, in this case you need to install in release order each one.
Odin ROM used to install a complete system, in this case you can install no matter in which system version you are.
If you want use a sideload you need search all patch released from september to december and install in order, otherwise if you dont have all patch you can use this files to install a complete system no metter if you have your sistem in january, march, july, september, doesnt metter.
