it might be a problem with your router and i think that you should check if by default you have not disabled wlan and if it not that then try to reset your router it will definitely work

thank you for replying...
what do you mean by router...my wifi is not turning on...do you mean something in the phone software that I do not understand..if so tell me how to reach it please ....if you mean my internet router then I am using several routers ...and obviously it does not matter since my wifi is still off

I think is hardware related since your WiFi was unable to turn on... Like previous S2. After they updated to ICS ROM, a battery leak which causes their WiFi to malfunction. And by the way. did you dropped your phone before?
See this blog:
http://www.stampede-design.com/blog/2012/07/samsung-galaxy-s2-wifi-issue/#.UoAu5XCD91Y

yes I did drop my phone previously but the malfunction does not follow that ...in both times.....previously and now the malfunction followed my discovery and usage of long touch on the WiFi icon in the sliding menu to reach the WiFi setting and choose network....any way the problem have been resolved previously by "more than firmware installation" as the service center worker told me ......I still do not understand what type of software that remain unchanged after complete firmware installation with re-partitioning.

Wifi disconnection problem fixed with 2.3.3 update?

Can anyone confirm if wifi disconnection problem has been fixed with the 2.3.3 update? Thanks
Well I flashed 2.3.3 2 days after I got my Arc, and I've never faced the wifi problem, guess it is fixed?
(Do you mean the one where it disconnects while downloading large files? Mine still gets disconnected about once in 2 days)
Its the one when arc keeps dropping the wifi connection. When wifi sleep policy set to 'never' and yet it drops it almost every time the home button is pressed after the screen has gone off.
Exactly that problem I am still having with my 2.3.3 arc
Mine is better
After upgrading to 2.3.3 it did not seem to improve at all for me, still randomly drops the connection, despite the wifi icon in the status bar still showing as connected. I returned the phone to vodafone yesterday who denied any knowledge of the problem despite so many people on the net complaining about it. They've sent it back for repair now anyway, fingerscrossed they sort something out, but i'm not too optimistic to be honest.
Still have wifi problem here after 2.3.3. Hope they'll fix it's soon

Seemed my router was indeed the problem (Dlink DIR-655).
The time the router ran in was somewhere in 2004, so maybe that caused the Arc to not be connected properly. Weird that laptops and the X10 mini we have don't had any problems with it.
@Roel_1982
what did you do to your router to fix your problem?
Did you change some settings?
Or did you get a new router?

There is no wifi disconnection problem with the Arc. I can confirm this because I use my device mainly through wifi when I listen for hours to online radio stations and haven't faced a single disconnection problem.
yup, still drop out ... GB 2.3.3 hk .145 firmware, TP-Link modem router.
Change wireless router to "g" mode and works ok. It seems to have problem with "N"

I adjusted the time, to update automatic.... also gave my Arc a fixed address through DHCP.
Ever since no problems with the connection. Maybe you could see if there are firmware updates for you're router available.
Update: got the problem again 2.3.3... screen went off, came back on... wifi seems to be connected in the status bar, but it's not
test this http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sour...PrRWuDqnnVcDpBYIA&sig2=uxmWpCo5pLQ9vBzEpDEqzQ
it may help
Still have the same problem after 2.3.3 on Xperia Neo. =(
Try to turn off WMM in the QoS section of your router. It worked perfect for me. No more drops or disconnections. It's because of poor implementation of WMM in Xperia WLAN driver.
i just flashed the firmware using SEUS, and i dont have wifi disconnections anymore, i think its something to do with flashing the firmware via flashtool o rosmething
I just flashed the firmware using flashtool and i dont have wifi disconnections anymore
My Arc never had a problem with wifi and it doesn't on 2.3.3 either
Something that has worked for a few of us is switching the router to just wpa.

wifi problem :(

i have trouble with wifi connection. my phone was very near from wifi moderm but when i watched youtube or connected internet in short time ( about 10 mins ) then my phone lost connection to moderm and notification of connection was " out of range ". Someone can tell me why and how to fix, and if i up my phone to .587, is the proble will be fix ?
sorry for my wrong english and thanks everyone can help me
Have you tried to reboot your phone ? Device has the ability to adjust it antenna power depending on signal strength, and by being to close to access point it may gone in a very low antenna power.
You should consider upgrading you Baseband .

I gave similar problem with my phone on the same firmware. WiFi just goes off and comes back on by it self. It's really annoying issue and if you guys now how to fix it I would appreciate it. I just switched to Arc S few days ago from Galaxy S and still finding my way around this forum so any help is appreciated.
Thanks.

it's common bug among a lot of arc s users apparently either rebooting your phone or turning off and on the wifi will probably get rid of the issue
Hmm, i think only my phone has this problem, when everytime it was out of connection range, i had to restart the moderm and then my phone was connected wifi as usual. May be i will try to up the phone to .587 but i will lose many modification as toggle,... So is there any way to up firmware without losing modification

You can also try to flash a different baseband. It helped my WiFi range on my LT15i improve slightly so that I can now hold on to a steady signal in locations of the house where I couldn't before on the stock baseband.

Wifi Drops

My Wifi keeps on dropping. It's very frustrating.
Anybody has this issue?
Please help
Yes, me too. If you have root you can easily fix it by editing a wifi-configfile:
/etc/firmware/wlan/prima/WCNSS_qcom_cfg.ini
Apply the following changes:
ConnectivityThresholdDBM=-100
gEnableBmps=0
Your wifi signal should be stronger now and it shouldn't drop anymore.
Found that in the Z forum, also works for Zl.
Don't forget to back up!
....and as usual: i can not be made responsible if you brick...blablabla....

Thank the guy in Z forum, I just copied it from there.
I got my Xperia ZL 6502 about a week ago and I am having simialr issues with wifi. In addition to loosing wifi connection every now and then, the phone's wifi connection is also messing up connection of the wireless router with other connected devices in the house. I found people having similar issues on sony support forums. Seems the phone has compatibility issues with Netgear make of routers. I had absolutely no issues when I connected to a different router.
Did anybody here notice the same issue with your ZLs and did the configfile editing also got rid of the router disconnecting from other devices problem?
WiFi issue still existing after JB upgrade?!

Hi All,
I've a question. Do you has already an issue with your WiFi after upgrade to JB 4.2.2.?
I guess it is so or it feels so.
BTW: How can I root my XZL to verify the WiFi parameter?!

I'm having the same problem. It can't connect to any network. I also upgraded my firmware but the problem still exists.
Interesting - I'll have to check out these settings later.
I had issues with being able to connect to an 802.1x secured wireless network... I basically reset my wifi settings figuring something was corrupted (I removed most of the files in /data/misc/wifi... I'd previously been told that these files would be re-created if you removed them...)
If you decide to remove these files yourself... make a backup...

I haven't had any issues with wifi connections after wiping those files... I'd restored those settings via TiBu... so it's probably my fault.

Restarting the phone or enabling fight mode and disabling it again makes the phone re -register On the Cell network. But the problem Occurs again after a while. checked my IMEI and it has not been corrupted. Any clue as to how to solve the problem.?
Thank you all for your time.

Hey there buddy,
I have a note 2 LTE and had a similar problem where the phone would randomly get tossed off the network and I would get the message "Not Registered on Network" if i tried to do anything network related. After sending my phone back to the service provider, the problem persisted and I decided to start trying to figure it out myself. Eventually I switched my network mode from Auto to GSM/WCDMA. I've attached a screen shot. It turns out the LTE option was causing crap. Even the service provider didnn't realise this. It resolved the issue for me and now my phone functions normally. My phone is rooted and I'm using Slim Bean. It's a Samsung Galaxy Note II n-7105.

When you say you cannot use the fix, do you mean it's not an option that you can change, or do you not want to change it from the default setting. If it's the latter, I would advise that you change it from the default value just to see if it helps. The initial default setting for me was LTE/WCDMA. I switched to GSM/WCDMA and I haven't had the problem since. With the default value, there were certain locations in which I just wouldn't be able to register on the network of my service provider. As soon as I moved to a different place, my phone would register and connect without a problem. Since I switched the mobile network mode I haven't had this issue occur even once. It's either a bug with Samsung, or a problem with my service provider, where switching the connectivity protocol isn't smooth and somehow gets stuck. Either way, I'm way happier with a phone that I know is always connected even if it's not at LTE speeds.

Hi there..i have a same issue..my n7100 has been rooted by the phone technician(i send it to repair shop coz won't boot). .so when i came to pick it..he said can't update. .had to use pc..i check in settings..my firmware was germany firm FN1..so i install my apps icluding bank apps..there's the problem started..coz bank apps denied rooted phone.then i hard reset it as usually clear. .wipe cache/data..then flash stock rom..everythings fine but network not registered..no data connection..can't call out..in setting..it shows my network telco..imei fine..I tried to call my number..yes it get thru..but the phone not ringing..tried other sim but no luck..thenni rooted it again and fixed network using octo..its work..but when flash again with stock..the problem came again..any idea what happen to my phone???
What Android did you have it on,you didn't downgrade it to a lower Android did you so like mine was on 6.0.1 and I downgrade to 4.4.2 and messed up my IMEI.
Is the IMEI the same as on the back of the phone and same serial..?

sm-p600 wifi problem

Hello everyone i'm new here, some time ago i have updated my tablet's android version from 4.3 to 4.4.2 through ota update, after about one month later my tablet started having a weird wifi problem (i don't know if it is related to ota update or not) my tablet shows good wifi signal but it wont connect (it connects only when it is near router's antenna though and this is really weird) and no it is not a router problem because it is the same problem everywhere, i tried EVERYTHING to fix this problem (wifi fixer apps, factory reset, reinstalled android firmware with samsung kies, rooted my tablet and even installed a custom rom) but none of these methods didn't solve the problem.
Does anyone knows how to fix this problem? did i miss something??? could it be a bad kernel? or maybe a bad configuration that should be changed manually, or is it just a hardware problem?
Did you try with stock Lollipop firmware?
