[Q] Is there a way to"force" the notification bar to remain displayed? - Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) Q&A, Help & Troubl

This is one thing I miss about my old note-the ability to see the time, etc while inside any app. I've looked through the settings but did not see anything. Is it possible to have the notification bar always available?

Is there no way to force the status bar to show no matter the app that is running? I miss the time being displayed and being able to quickly/easily see what message just came through.

Install "app settings"in Xposed and you can set your preference for every app.You need root for this.

Must be a touchwiz thing. I installed Nova Launcher when I first got the tablet so not sure but my notification bar is always displayed.

I use nova. Maybe it is a setting from Within nova but when in an app like plants vs zombies 2, I hear a notification but cannot see anything. I also don't see the clock.

Thanks. I haven't rooted yet (waiting on Knox fix). Good to know this can be done!

If I remember correctly you should be able to do this in Nova without root. Go to the settings and dig a little.

Getting rid of the notification bar

I would like to get somehow the notification bar away. Like transparent or hiding it would be at best.
Any ideas?

If you are using Nova Launcher: Long-press on home screen, select Nova Actions, select Toggle Notification Bar, hide the icon in a folder

Or better yet, make the icon transparent, remove the toggle label, then put the icon into a corner. That way you can toggle any time you like without having to open a folder.

Hello :-)

Just wondering if there are any mods that enable messaging icon notifications.. I've looked around but found nothing :-\

I was hoping someone would know of a mod not an app.. I've probably tried every messaging app on the market. But I love my stock messaging and I wish I could get message notification count on the stock icon..

Sorry, I don't get exactly what your after. Are you wanting a notification in the notification bar or on the the messaging icon if it's sitting on your homescreen?

If your not using adw or go launcher (which both have their own versions of this) then you can try these two
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kanokgems.smswidget
Or
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jb.gosms.widget
Hope one of them works for you
Edit: Just to clarify, both of these two use the stock sms app... Or any other you have installed for that matter
Apex launcher has it, and it works well.

Jellybean Help

Okay so I'm running JB and want a mod that adds toggles to the pull down notifications someone please help
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
Notification toggles or extended controls apps on the play store that will do this for you. We don't have toggle mods yet. Since source has just dropped it wont be too long until we see these mods again.
I use extended controls for now.

[REQ] NavBar Mod

Hi devs.
This might be an extra thread so if it is, I apologize and it can be locked. I've searched for one but couldn't find.
I've been getting used to using the stock browser rather than what Google called chrome.
On it is a lab feature for quick control like illustrated below.
Is there any similar or possible mod for NavBar to appear this way through out Android system on Nexus 4?

Although this doesn't make the phone fill screen, I bet you can get a ROM that takes navigation bar out.
Also follow the installation instruction provided on the link!

AOKP has a feature called "Expanded Desktop" which can be toggled through the power menu that allows the NavBar to be hidden.
Check that out.
There's also Button Savior which can be hidden until you want them back. I like them.

Its actually on my CM10.1 as well. I just wished there was a sort of gesture to the CM version. Instead of pushing the power button for expanded screen.
Hopefully someday.
Swagged out of my N⁴ using XDA Premium
On paranoidandroid, in beta 8 and beyond there's a setting that lets you reduce the navigation bar to 0%, which gets rid of the navigation bar but still keeps the status bar.
I've been using my nexus like this with LMT, and it works perfectly, with the extra 80 something pixels from navigation bar. it looks really nice.
There is an app. it is called hidebar
www.ppareit.github.com/HideBar
it stays in the notifs and when you tap it it removes the buttons until you touch either the top or bottom of the screen which brings them back.
have fun

How to Disable 3-dot menu?

How to disable 3-dot menu in GE based roms
Don't like them, cause GS4 has hardware menu button and they take extra space!
Thanks in advance!
I second this request would like to know of a mod or a work around we could do ours selves
I have GPE Rom by DANVDH Link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2539361
one thing i noticed after flashing this rom is that it changed my model number from SGH-M919 to GT-I950G
and wondering if that might be the cause because perhaps the apps have this 3dot menu for that phone model
but if I change the build.prop to this:
Original T-Mobile Galaxy S4 build.prop
ro.product.model=SGH-M919
ro.product.name=jfltetmo
ro.product.device=jfltetmo
would it solve my problem or cause other problems?
The three dots (expanded menu) is there for tablets. What are your dpi settings? Also, some apps have it hard coded to the three dots. It's just how it is. Mg dpi is 320 and root explorer does not have those three dots, but on tablet it does.

On the Nexus 5 like devices with software menus keys thats required there are no other way to access the menus, but on the devices with hardware menu keys like GS4 and others there no need for it plus they take extra spaces on the already small screens. By the way on the stock GS4 roms there no 3-dot menus!
I think thats need to be disabled on the rom level...
Check out this thread for more info:

What ROM are you running? Its definately a ROM thing. I thought you meant the three dots as shown in the picture with the zoomed in circle.

You can delete the apps on the other screens and it will delete the screen. Or add screens by dragging Apps to them.
