Helpful YouTube cases review (9 popular cases!) - Nexus 5 Accessories

Hi,
I found this to be helpful so I thought I'd share it, hope it helps you deciding what case to get :good:

Be sure to hit Thumbs Up on his vid for his effort :good:

Not trying to be a hater here, but really he's reviewing 5 cases. To get to 9 he uses different colors of the same case. That being said, thumbs up for reviewing 5 cases.

Correct, actually. But still nice to see them compared in a vid :good:
+1 for the effort

Appreciate the video but not a fan of how most of the video was shot out of range.

A pretty lengthy alternative review of the Galaxy Nexus

I'm sharing this review for two reasons. First off, it's quite detailed and goes deep into certain aspects of the GN. Second, it takes a sort of different view.

I'll let you make up your mind whether you agree or not.
Good, fair review. Thanks for posting.
Liked the review. The camera shots shown in the review look really good, I'm so confused on whether I should pick up the Galaxy Nexus or not because of all the different quality of pictures I've seen.

The low quality pictures were likely taken by those who haven't yet learned how to use the camera app properly. If you wait for autofocus and/or play with the camera settings until you get a clear picture in the "viewfinder," your picture will be one of the higher-quality ones.
Has anyone seen John Connor?
I've decided to get it based on the review but I'll wait until January to make sure all the kinks have been ironed out, not willing to act as a beta tester for Google.
I hate to use cases on my phones but it seems I'll have to get one for this, based on what I'm also reading here on XDA.

Samsung Muse Video Review!

Hey guys, I have appreciated the video reviews posted here so I thought I would do one myself. This video review is for the Samsung Muse. There are hardly any reviews online so i thought i would give an in depth look. Here is a link to the video review:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YlpDvtDCCDc&feature=youtube_gdata_player
The Muse is on sale for 50 on Samsung, and 60 from Amazon. In short, its a great item if you simply need a lightweight, inexpensive mp3 player, but for every day use you might as well stick with your phone.
This is my second YouTube video, so there is much room for improvement. I plan on continuing to review various android hardware and accessories should you wish to subscribe. Let me know if you have ideas!

It's still being tested.
i wish we can replace the strap...but unfortunately cannot
Before anyone asks, yes, it can run ingress. But due to the display size, it's not usable.
(although, having ingress installed means I get notifications, which is a bonus)
I want this watch bad. Will be my next smart watch for sure

How does Ingress deal with multiple devices?
Pretty nice review, now I'm waiting for my November Developer Edition 1GB/8GB very anxiously. How was the flashing process? Did yours come rooted or non-rooted?
dust ?
From the pictures, a lot of dust seems to be stuck on the watch?

Yes I too was wondering about the same thing. I did not believe it to be dust but simply the unpolished look of the watch. I am hoping it is dust and I am wrong because from the pictures the watch does not look like a polished quality finish

The watch has glass screen - fingerprints will be noticeable, metal case - that one is solid, and cheap silicone/rubber wristband - sort of a dust magnet, no way around it since it's not replaceable. The value of TS is not in a rubber wristband, but in the watch itself

Vectron:
I can understand and appreciate your response.
By the way I want to go out my way to express to you my sincere appreciation of you making sure you addressed the speakerphone matter that I had raised in earlier posts. You are the first and only one who has addressed the issue and let us know that the speakerphone is plenty loud enough for calls, something I decried about the Samsung Galaxy Gear.
By the way that was the best user review I have seen on a phone or watch phone. Everyone ghets into all of these specifications and technical matters and forget to cover the basics like "how does the watch feel, look---is it too large---is the screen really visible---If I make a call can I hear the other person and vice versa---all of these nonthechnical matters that go into an everyday user experience (and not from a developers or customizer's perspective) you attempted to cover and quite well I might add.
I can't wait for you to be able to report on the companion, bluetooth tethering capabilities of the watch if that ever comes to be. But for all of us nontechies your review and evaluation has been heaven sent

Reviews like his take a lot of load off the developers and is very much appreciated. Doesn't mean there won't a developer review but in this case his review definitely give us some breathing room and time to actually use the TS vs fixing things. For example, I still have yet to actually play with mine yet and I've had it over a week now.
Thank you all for the kind words! As you have seen from my Index Review page on XDA: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2192333 I take every review very seriously, either if its $5 screen protector or $15 case or $200 smartwatch or $500 headphones. I actually started doing these reviews with a main intent to answer questions left open by all those other "pro" dry reviews on specialized websites where they list spec, summarize their opinion in one paragraph and post a bunch of picture that still doesn't provide a clear "picture" of the product. I also hated user reviews posted in the forum with low res picture shots from a phone in poor lighting. But anyway...
TS shaping up to be a great product with unlimited capabilities. For those interested to start testing Companion app, make sure to check Kurt's G+ page with instructions (the references were provide in the latest KS update), and for those who already have the watch - YOU MUST flash it with Loki's latest ROM. It's not even a matter of question.
Heh Vec:
Does your above post indicate that there is a Companion app or tool that is now available, but being tested and refined. If so that is great news and puts me in the position of making my purchase
Excelent review, I can't wait more for mine.

Hello vectron,
Thanks for your good and detailed review.
I am currently using a MetaWatch Frame. I tried also Sony SmartWatch 2, but the vibration motor was too loud, so I returned it. All people around me would have heard every mail or SMS I got with this loud vibration.
The vibration of the MetaWatch is discreet, like it should be.
I saw in your reviews, that you tested a MetaWatch Frame.
1. Is the vibration of the Omate TrueSmart loud or discreet?
2. Is the vibration on the Omate TS louder than the MetaWatch Frame? How is the vibration of the TS compared with the MetaWatch Frame?
3. Did you also try the Sony SmartWatch 2? If yes, how is the vibration loudness of the TS compared with the Sony Smartwatch?

Good questions. As you have seen, I been working with MetaWatch for awhile and have//reviewed their STRATA/FRAME models - the main purpose is to receive email notifications and not to miss calls. The vibration is just perfect with MW. I can't comment on SW2. I'm on the list of Sony accessory reviewers and have talked to their PR firm about review sample. Unfortunately, they are delaying sending review products, and I have a feeling it has something to do with a lot of recent posts about quality control (people have screen popping off, problem with buttons, etc).
For me personally, Notification feature is #1 requirement for TS. But it's still in alpha testing and I wasn't able to get it to work yet, possible due to some setup issues. Trust me, as soon as I have a more stable release version and can get it to work on my TS - I will post a detailed review.
Another great thing Kurt is working on is OWatchOn app which turns the display on when you raise your arm. It's work in progress as well, and Kurt is fine tuning it. So far you need a specific angle/position to turn the display on, but he will add more options where you can customize it.
I tried loki's rom and didn't really like it. Back on stock now but I have installed his mod.

Review of Zero Audio Carbo Tenore and Carbo Doppio in-ear headphones w/lots of pics!!

removed.
Hi mate! How are you? Hopefully you still remember me! I'm so glad to see you got the Tenore too and liked them! I think I hit the jackpot with these as I spent the right amount of money and finally got the right amount of bass I was looking for
I have a question for you, how do the Tenore compares to the dm-2?based on what you told me last month I'm still interested in those. So I'd like to have your precious opinion! Cheers

SIDY DM2 has more bass, but they are not as accurate as Tenores. I actually haven't even touched DM2 since I got Carbos One thing to keep in mind, as you probably read from dozens of pages on Head-fi, Tenores will need at least 100 hrs of burn in for the bass to start shining. I like a little more bass for my taste, so I'm somewhere around 50+ hrs of burn in mark The only thing with Tenores - they do look fragile... But when I read from some people on the forum who compare them to HA-FX850, you know you got something special Btw, I'm also waiting to get review samples of KC06 and KC06A. Curious about "A" model which supposed to have more bass, just hope not at the expense of recessed mids... And then there is VSonic VSD 3S (very much hyped by everyone already...) - will have to figure out how to get a review sample of those
Thanks for the reply! So, are we safe to say that the Tenore sounds better than the dm-2 to you? I was looking to get another pair of Chinese iem and the dm-2 were on my list. I'm really looking forward to read your thoughts about the ostrys and the new vsd 3s!

Yeah, Tenore is better than DM2. No need to buy it, in my personal opinion. Hopefully will get Ostrys in a week or two. Not sure about VSD3 yet, but Mochill on Head-fi has been going nuts last night posting updates every 5 min how much he loves these. Hopefully it's not another hype train. But for $46 with removable cables and such an ergonomic design - it's hard to ignore it

After the Tenore choo choo train I started to value what Mochill says (still filtering something out ), I found they have the quality of my PFE 122 but with the right amount of bass. I might buy another pair in future as backup. Still i'm really curious about the VSD3, they also look so good
Totally agree
I absolutely agree with everything you said about the Tenores. Afteer owning hundreds of IEM's, with a price range from $600 (Sennheiser IE800, UE 7 Pro) to $6.00, I finally found that true "giant killer", that IEM with the perfect combination of fit and sound at a completely affordable, but at the list price, completely INSANELY undervalued when you compare price to performance ratio. These things destroy even the JVC FX650's, which are three times the cost. The Tenores don't even hit their stride until after 200+ hours of listening. This is when they truly transform, especially the bass. The bass goes from being kinda thick and intrusive, to this rich articulation, with punch, where you hear and feel each note as it's played. The complete opposite of say the popular Pistons 2.0 (which I still own) or the FX650 (sold). This reveals itself at about 200 hours, and there's no looking back.
I just ordered the Doppios, after spending a month wrestling with the ergonomically disappointing Fostex TE-05 and bloaty and not as detailed JVC FX650. The Fostex did have a beautifully clean and even lush reference sound, but the isolation and fit were so godawful poor, that i just didn't find any joy in them, or desire to keep them. The JVC's fit better, but isolation wasn't much better, and the woodies are just bulky and don't provide the sick awesome soundstage and detailing the Tenores provide at a 1/3 the price. So I unloaded, got a great deal on amazon, and I await the Doppios with great excitement. If they can provide the type of enjoyment or leap frog the sonic pleasure I got from both the UE 700 or TEAC ZE-1000 dual armatures (both broke on me at the wire at different places), then I think I've finally found the perfect dynamic and BA IEM's for my long term listening pleasure?
Thanks for the great review!
btw yes, this is IEMagnet, who was grossly and unfairly banned from head-fi, and repeated requests to be reinstated over the last year have gone unanswered and ignored. But i still read and follow every day. :good:

What did you have to do to get kicked out of head-fi?!? Btw, on head-fi I'm "twister6", just like in every other forum where I post, except XDA where I'm "vectron". If I can go back in time a few years when I registered here, I wouldn't make a mistake of random name... but anyway.
Btw, if you are following Head-fi and their Tenore thread, it kind of went in a totally different direction of "reference" vs "bassy" models, and so on. Another Discovery thread with Zero Audio's been all over the place as well.
I'm still waiting to receive my KC06/KC06A and want to compare it to Tenores. I know the sound isolation of Ostry is not that great, but a lot of other people say they prefer KC06 over Tenores. Will see. With KC06A, at least I don't have to wait 200hr for bass to shine But still, Tenores are at the top of my list when I listen to acoustic music or music with non-electronic instruments. The sound delivery is truly breathtaking!

Don't have Sony ones, but some people on head-fi do find them better, if I'm not mistaken. But at the end, it all comes down to a personal taste.

Zero Audio VS Final Audio Design ?
Im using Final Audio Design (FAD) Adagio 2 for 2 years now and loving it. Now i am thinking to add more IEM in my collection, im considering Adagio 3 before i came across Zero Audio and looking at your review, Tenore / Doppio might be a good pick but how good is Tenore/ Doppio vs FAD Adagio 2 or 3?
IMO Adagio has very tight bass but brilliant mid and high too.. it performed very well for live music as well as bassy songs like Muse - Hysteria. Btw im not an audiophile just an avid listener of good music. TQVM

Nice review.
I like the split screen transition especially, but overall they were all well done.
My only criticism would be that when you post here, on XDA, be more clear that you're linking to your review of the watch. Just be a little bit more clear.
Keep up the good work
Thanks for the nice review.
