Cyanogenmod 11 ? - Samsung Galaxy W I8150

So guys i read this post tonight by cyanogenmod http://www.cyanogenmod.org/blog/this-week-in-cm-nov-9-2013
And i saw this : First, and we’ve said this previously, just because KitKat is touted as being better for lower RAM devices doesn’t mean we will be bringing back support for devices that we’ve dropped in the past. , So i know that out device has 512 MB, but i wanted to ask did cyanogenmod droped support for out phone ???

Snapdragon S1 MSM7227A SoC design Android 4.x performance comparison

As discussed in an other thread I start here a new topic regarding the overall performance of Android 4.x on Snapdragon S1 MSM7227A SoC design based Samsung devices. This refers for example to the following Samsung phone models:
GT-S7560M
GT-S7560
GT-S7562
GT-S6500
Note, this contains NOT the GT-I8160 (Galaxy Ace 2) phone which is build around an NovaThor SoC design.
Galaxy Mini 2 GT-S6500, CyanogenMod 10.1 (Android 4.2.2 @ kernel 2.6.38.6) build from 20150902
AnTuTu v5.7.3 performance score: 5538, second round 5784, third round 5826
This seems to be 8 to 10 times slower then newest high end class smart phones. Nevertheless the performance of CM10.1 at my Galaxy Mini 2 is absolute adequate. It runs stable, fluid, and has no laggs in normal daily used apps. :good:
Galaxy Trend GT-S7560M
ROM : CyanogenMod 11
Android version : 4.4.4
Build : 11-20141114-UNOFFICIAL-kylessopen
Kernel : 3.0.79
AnTuTu Benchmark v5.7.1 :
6671
7427
7399
Thanks breversa! As expected the GT-S7560M is faster than the GT-S6500, - although not so much as I thought. The difference goes most likely back to the higher CPU clock and the more amount of RAM.
Well, the question is now how many of these AnTuTu points are needed to run run CyanogenMod 11 fluid, adequate and without lags. It can be that the GT-S6500 is just below this limit.
You're welcome.
Why don't you flash CM11 on your device then give back the results of the test ?

Well, I tried this several times. But with newest ClockworkMod v6.0.5.1, which fixes a grave internal / external storage error, the installation crashes shorty after starting it.
Furthermore, CM11 for the Galaxy Mini 2 is no longer developed, - the original dev leave the project longer time ago. An other dev also quite his CM11 M12 build after he changed the phone. Regarding the Galaxy Mini 2 I think the challenge is just too hard. The problem starts at fundamental things like bad kernel 3.x and driver performance. (These are much less optimized then in older kernel 2.6 versions.)
And, because there exist an awesome CyanogenMod 10.1 build there is no real need for CM11. Really everything is working, including NFC, Camera and Camcorder. The latest release also fixed the Android Stagefright exploit. The only feature that I will miss may be Google Wallet. That requires KitKat 4.4 so far I know.
These are good enough reasons.
Glad I could be of assistance !

We have a chance for N

Today i see someone succesfully boot Android N on Xperia L. Which is Xperia L has a same proccesor with Redmi 1S (snapdragon 400) Maybe we can port the ROM into our device. What do you guys think about?

As far as I could gather, yes, it is possible to get Nougat.
Things we will NOT GET, because of the GPU we have are: OpenGL 3.1 / Vulkan. Those two are only embedded in Adreno 400 and upwards.
This would mean that there is a chance for problems with games that might migrate above OpenGL 3.0 (which we have).
As far as I'm aware, the differences between 3.1 and 3.0 are in the addition of new libraries, so if the game needs those new libraries 100% and doesn't offer a fallback option, we won't be able to play them.

hope so
Redmi1s won't get any more
Actually not a problem of xiaomi but of **** Google.
This is Android (and OEMs and Qualcomm) not looking far ahead to support devices. They don’t care about customers. After sale support non-existent.
Why is Apple able to support iPhone 5s (same age as Nexus 5) with iOS 10 and later? Because Apple made it compatible with METAL apk from day 1. Because it has hardware encryption since day 1.
Why is Apple able to support iPhone 5 (4 years old) with iOS 10? Because Apple is willing to!!! IPhone 5 does not support METAL nor does it have ARMv8 chip…yet iPhone 5 is getting iOS 10…minus raise to speak to Siri…it is getting 99% of iOS 10 features.
Remember, major software updates also bring with it security features beyond “monthly patches.”
So, with all the resources of software (Google) and hardware (OEM’s and Qualcomm), Android cannot support Nexu 5 and the likes?! It is like buying a laptop (since most phones cost the same) and can only use it for 2 years. That’s insane!
When will Android community wake up and demand more? Google, OEMs, and Qualcomm will only listen if money talks.
And it is this crap that explains horrible re-sale value of Android flagships!

[Q] No love for helium?

I've been wandering forums lately. Even the LOS15 is officially supporting hydrogen only. I see loads of ROM which is official for hydrogen but when it comes to helium there is very very few support on official builds. for example only official one is RR 5.8.4. The question is why helium does not gathering some official love too? Its 652 you know its powerful enough to capable which paired with 3 gigs of RAM. I just want to hear from developers why there is no official builds for helium? Is it based on kernel code or something similar to this?
Based on dev will...
becoz its user base is limited, that is fault of mi, they released phone but shipped later to consumer but in that time ppl purchased hydrogen so hydrogen has good user base . also soc 650 has many phone than 652. like kenzo etc

Why Custom Rom development is totally off??

Almost all custom Roms are not even updated since last year. The custom Rom or Android development for Honor 8 Pro is totally off? Why is that?
Even after oreo release, feels like no one interested.
update: Honor released kernel source for honor 8 pro
https://www.xda-developers.com/honor-8-pro-honor-9-android-oreo-kernel-source/
personally, i feel that this is due to the fact that:
* many are happy for stock ROM
* stock ROM has got a lot of features and options for all sorts of ppl
* in terms of optmisation and efficiency, modern day version of Android don't really drain that much.
* battery tech has improved and we see phones packing bigger battery. so, ppl no longer than concerned abt battery life
* limited user-base -- so ROM developers are better off spending their time on phones with larger user-base, thus getting better feedback and attention

You are right, Thanks.
Just After honor ditch us, no chance of Getting future android experience ?
Honor left honor 8 pro.
Honor is fully focused on AI based honor view 10, the selected developer were given free honor view 10 handsets for its support and development of rom's in future. Honor has ditched the honor 8 pro.
The developers started working on honor view 10 and developed treble lineage os 15.1 rom based on Oreo 8.1 for kirin 970 devices.
Even the magisk and substrantum support is given for honor view 10.
I think this is my last honor device ??.

personally, i dun expect much since honor 8 Pro is a one year old device (using China's V9 as the actual launch). honor already launched a replacement device and if they actually continue to promote older device, then there's something not right with their strategy. so, it's only right that they get support for newer device instead, which is the View 10.
and the Q is... do i need custom rom? nope. i dun think i need it. and do i think it's needed for even View 10? nope... dun think it's needed.
many reasons why i dun think custom rom needed is in my first reply above.

I heard yesterday, Honor had removed Kernal sources for Honor 8 pro(or V9)[after its launched] that's a big problem also for custom roms.
Even in their own website the stock firmware is not available, no even it's name.
Stock rom might ne good, but Many people seeks for Future taste of Android. Honor already ditch us, The only way we could have taste Android p or Android Q using custom roms and now that also not possible.
Where as they are making sure Honor view 10 get erd party development supports.

i bought the honor 8 Pro because it is a good phone. great specs at affordable price. i din get it so i could get the latest version of Android. to me, so long as it works and it's patched (and while it's inconsistent but the updates have been coming from Honor), i'm fine with it.
and based on the above, honor 8 Pro is still a good phone. i don't really care about the latest Android version. what is more important is that i'm using the smartphone for what it can do -- connecting me. and it's doing a great job at that.

U r right, It will still be a very good phone with good specs nod doubt.
Everyone has their own view.
Some people's like custom development.
And Huawei doing open source for view 10 and removing 8pro(v9)'s kernal sources is really disappointing.
When honor8pro was launched, Huawei/Honor out up a show like this is device is going to get all the required attention and care. Instead they struggled with patches itself. Not even updates, fhey couldn't make working patches.
They looked for market and found one. That's it. US market is unreachable at least for an year or two, so a new strategy is to push as many devices as they can in current markets while lobbying for US market.
Honor tried or picturized a Xiaomi like strategy but went Samsung ish. Hardware wise 8pro is matchless in its tier but then there isn't much you can boast about it on realtime usage. They nerfed battery when some issues started its that bad.
It's a compromise device that has been further compromised. I feel honor is a sinking ship. They're severely dependent on marketing than letting phones prove themselves. They have paid Android authority and even Xda well to keep featuring posts or reviews about their phones. So that neo nerds or spec hungry guys can devour these devices and guys like these are usually the ones that are looked up or called up by less nerdy or less tech literates for their next best phone.
Such fake image doesn't hold long and easily shatters. Just like one plus which promised big things and promised support and longevity unlike google... and then just ditched all that, Honor too promised devices with better specs and better support but well... at this rate honor 10view will bite the dust soon as well, or if things keep going bad for honor/Huawei they might loop back.
Only time will tell. But for now it sure is bleak for Honor8pro. There isn't a way to jump to custom roms either. So when **** hits the cieling this phone will be a glorified remote control.
In Nutshell, most of us in india got this device with buyback from flipkart, 1st week march that awaited period start. Time to switch back to some soft-support team with decent hardware, ASAP. My bid is back to moto. whats others planning ?

Honor 8 pro is the most neglected so called "Flagship killer" of 2017/18.
Shortly after the release of 8 pro, they had taken down all official firmware sources.
View 10 is view 10 all over the globe. 8 pro is just a 128 GB variant of V9. So it has been completely neglected.
When Honor was questioned as to why firmware sources were removed, they gave a dumb reply saying it was HQ decision and they have least control over it.
This is like being in Apple ecosystem. Very sad to see such a potential device being neglected completely.
Honor has suddenly started focusing on lower budget segment in India after 8 pro's launch. Devices like 9 lite are starting to see updates for Face Unlock and yester year Flagship 8 pro is still with buggy Oreo update which they cannot fix.

lol. why port an already working ROM. it works like a charm with only few issues:
1. some animations are choppy(doesn't concern me much)
2. no volte(i don't need it)
3. no stock camera(will be added soon)
4. minor graphical glitches. (doesn't affect the overall interface)

VOLTE is a big concern for me. Atleast in India.
Ok, lets not call it port----, fixing those glitches.
And jst turn of animation scale?, no problem of transitions.

Is Android 10 possible for Mi6?

As usual after every new OS release, I want to ask here is there a ready of hope for an update to this beast?
If at all yes from which developer are we going to see the support?
Android 10 looks more polished and better. I am sure our Mi6 hardware surely supports it.
Any positive answers are welcome.
Thanks for your understanding.
Not only Android 10, I think we are covered for next couple of Android versions. Snapdragon 835 is a fairly popular processor. We can safely say Qualcomm will support 835 couple more years. So if there is support, there will be custom ROMs. Also, even after that, some intelligent guy / team will port Android 13, 14, 15 to it, for sure.

Thanks that you got yourself bothered to answer me...
