CM10.1 4.2.2 video question - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

I was originally on TW stock w/root and decided to give CM a try. Phone is model SPH-D710 from boost mobile
I have tried a lot of things in CM and so far haven't had any issues I can see atm, but I did notice one thing. When recording a video, in both 720P and 1080P HD it seems to me the video quality is rather poor. What I am seeing is it's grainy somewhat.
I have tested videos I currently have with the videos I take with CM 10.1 and the video just looks quite a bit better on the one I took while on stock TW. When I play the CM 10.1 videos back, the video looks grainy.
A thought had crossed my mind though, I am using the phone to play it back with, so perhaps if I used the PC to play it it would look fine?
So is there a setting I am missing or something I am possibly doing wrong or is the video quality really poor compared to the stock TW video.

questions?
This probably should be in questions and answers.

Yeah possibly, but I figured out what the issue was....so disregard/delete this post if you need or want to
Being the novice video/camera person I am it seems as if I have some basic camera learning to do .
I went out of my bedroom and tested some video different places and it seems lighting can play a pretty big role in how the video looks, and I don't mean just the "low" lighting either. It seems lighting can affect how crisp the video looks, in my case I don't have enough lighting I guess, and even with the LED ligth on, it doesn't seem to clear the grainy look up much, so I guess I need to keep that in mind.
Nothing is wrong with the camera/video part, it was just my room wasn't light the right way I guess, even though it has enough light it seems, just not for the camera/video

All questions go in Q&A

Is this thing in my screen normal?

Hi,
I bought a Galaxy Nexus phone yesterday, and last night I noticed this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
As you see, the screen looks a bit more reddish on a side and a little more greenish on the other. It's more noticeable with low brightness levels, especially when displaying white backgrounds.
Is this normal on these phones? Should I get a refund and / or replacement?
Thanks!
These screens have some issues at lower brightness levels.. that's just the screen though. In your case I guess it would come down to how much it bothers you really

Well, it does. I know these screen have some other issues, such as some noise and granularity, but as far as I've read this is not a common issue. Hence the question, do you guys have it too?

Hallo my friend, seems like we are in the same boat. We have a screen issue thread over 60+ pages in galaxy note Q & A.
check this thread out
The issue u see are definitely associated with these Amoled screens, but the biggest problem of all is the ignorance from everybody thinking it is NORMAL.
Where i say its NOT NORMAL
And still everybody thinks is NORMAL & continue to think they hv the best Super Amoled screen in the world.
I m getting frustrated...
I'd assume that's not normal and it would bother the crap out of me. Try getting a replacement?
try Franco Kernel as it fixes the color... if you buy his app you will be able to control the color to your liking.
but this is definitely not normal

Er, well. If you agree that it's not the way the screen should look, I think I'll get a replacement rather than mess with the kernel. I'll let you know how it went, thanks guys.

[Q] Barebones ROM

Hi there,
I am running CM12 (Lollipop) on my HTC Desire HD and was very excited to see it on there
But now I feel like the experience is choppy at best. Yes I can overclock and underclock but I have a couple questions:
a) Is there a typical process that can be halted that would improve the performance of the phone when running CM12?
b) As an older guy, I'm a little old school. I want to see my old phone be zippy and light (ie getting the most out of the old hardware while maintaining fluidity). Is there a ROM that would be considered barebones...I really need the basics:
- phone, messaging
- connectivity/tethering
- camera
- performance tools/features
- decent battery life
I do no real gaming on my phone (simple games at most)...nor do I watch movies other than occasionally pulling up a video on youtube and or review a vid just recorded
Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I feel CM12 was cool, but it seems overkill on this dated hardware
Thanks

Question about the quality of photos

Hi guys,
Quick question about taking photos with the G3. I can't get an OK (let alone nice) photo of a concert with it. The performer always is overexposed, and I didn't find a way around it. At first I thought that it was just the best a small phone camera could do in these conditions (even a good one) but then my friend just beside me took the same picture just after me with an iphone 4S and the pic was better. You could actually see the performer's face and some other details on him, not just a white overexposed silhouette. Am I missing something here ?
Here's an example of a pic I took last night :

BTW, I'm using the stock camera (I'm using the Cloudy rom).
Try xcam

As most of the photo seems to be a black area, it tries bring out stuff from there, that is why it "overexposes" the image. Did you try HDR mode?
XCam is good camera app, which allows you control the ISO values, and those may help you in situations like this.
Yes I tried HDR mode, and the result was the same. I was surprised that the stock app didn't offer more options to deal with this type of photo setting. I will try X Cam, thanks for the suggestion. Does it take advantage of the IR autofocus ?

4K Action Camera Wifi WiMiUS L3 2.45'' LCD Touch Screen review

There is a lot to like about the WiMius L3 16MP 4K Action Cam as it's undoubtedly a worthy competitor to the GoPro at a sharp fraction of the price. It's simply amazing what they were able to do in such a tight package. It does 4k video , 60fps 1080p video, has a webcam mode which would be used on youtube if necessary, comes with a variety of different accessories like the go pro which includes the signature case and many many other cool things as well. I use a program called Bandicam I was surprised to see this camera be used like a webcam it's truly a beautiful sight. Of course, it can be used as an action cam as well if needed. Another cool feature is the touch screen 2.4 inch display. When I saw the Lack of buttons on the product I was concerned at first by then by accident I tapped the screen and to my surprise the screen listened to my command. Of all the action camera's I have had this is by far the best Ui I have ever seen. It's simple and too the point and I love it.

It's not perfect by any means however and I will mention why now. First the fps on 4k mode and frame stability does look like it could need some optimizations it's not the best but by no means. However that does not mean it's a deal breaker. Also, the microphone could use a boost in quality, however, I used this thing as a webcam and just used my own microphone so this was not an issue anyway. Back to some more cool stuff the waterproof elementorse to work well when the case Is so that you let stream to i sink to in my sink and it it is to work fine. This product also has wifi feature that works with android and ios thanks to an app called WiMius Cam Pro. This app allows you to stream what your recording to your phone for Easy sharing and viewing. Also, do not let me us with a spear battery which is amazing. I was able to record all the footage I needed in a day without any issue with power and that's huge !! I gotta be Honest I'm speechless here it truly does it all and I can not believe it.
About the price, the camera is $119.99 at Amazon US. However, with the following code, you can get it for only $77.99.

Really liking the macro, even though most people say it's lacking compared to the S21 Ultra.

Like this one a lot. A lot of odd colors in the image and it balanced it well (the green and magenta in the backdrop).
I'm quite impressed by a quickly taken nightshot (on a fast moving train, approx 80km/h). OxygenOS 11.2.2.2.
Ultra wide
I just got my phone yesterday and i'm now testing how well it performs. First impressions is that yes it can perform very well even in dim lit situations. As i always shoot RAW this one is shot as such using the Pro mode and then processed in Capture One Pro.

Pics are really looking great! Can't wait to get the device...
One more shot, this one from inside a local church. Shot in RAW and edited with Capture One Pro. There were so little noise i didn't even bother to remove it, just a bit of sharpening and keystoning to straighten the lines and then the usual adjustments with exposure, curves and shadows & highlights adjustments.

Would like to see some pictures of faces (with stock camera app). With my op7t, I was VERY disappointed with the pictures of my kids (with the OOS camera), very blurry and smudgy. Switched to GCAM and totally fine.

What setting you used? The hand artifact looks weird. I understand it is because of the movement (or a hand of a ghost of dead movie producer?), but how the hell it created this weird edge/highlight is beyond me.
