How to lock bootloader and sim for warranty? - HTC One X

I need to simlock adn bootloader lock my phone for warranty,is there a tutorial how to do this?

I don't think SIM lock is required for warranty.
Give us a little bit more info, do you have a custom recovery installed? Custom Rom? If not and the only thing you have to do is lock the bootloader then the command is
Fastboot oem lock
Note: don't do this with a custom Rom or custom recovery it will result in a bootloop. For completely stock you need
Stock rom
Stock boot.img
Stock recovery.img
Locked or relocked (warranty)

I have custom recovery ClockworkMod Recovery v5.8.4.0
custom rom android revolution hd 18.2
cid htc__032
hboot 1.39.0000

Only thing you can do is install the stock rom and the stock recovery, RELOCK the bootloader. Lock is NOT possible

Off:can't login to that account.
I did restore stock room with ruu.
Is there any way to lock network ?i unlocked it using imei code.

You must to relock only the bootloader the sim is not important for warranty

Are you take the code from them or you take the code from some website? You can't lock the sim but you can try to send the phone with sim unloked and hope they will not see this. And something else Vodafone not repear OneX they send the phone to some other service I think!

[Q] About official updates and relocked bootloader

Hello, I have a One X that I relocked the bootloader for send it to HTC. Actually my One X is running a official 4.0.3 version and always says that I have new updates availables.
I want to know if I need to do something special to update it without bricking the phone or I can do it normally.
Also I have doubts about if now with my relocked bootloader I can unlock it with the same process that I use the first time that I did it.
Thanks in advance.
If you are fully stock....
Stock Rom (not rooted)
Stock kernel (boot.img)
Stock recovery
You can leave your Bootloader locked, should not be a problem !

Thanks for your answer, I have stock rom, kernel and recovery. What about the process to unlock again the bootloader for install custom roms? Can I do it like the last time? Thanks in advance.
The process is exactly the same. You can even use the same unlock code .bin file to unlock

[Q] Bootloader *** UNLOCKED *** / *** RELOCKED *** / *** LOCKED ***

Hi,
I just woundring if after unlock bootloader with HTCDEV is it possible to back to factory state with *** LOCKED *** status of bootloader again.
I think that it's not possible, but many times I read here on XDA it coud be done.
I know that it's a tool to lock bootloader from CWM - but if we LOCKED bootloader from CWM after that we can't reflash bootloader to oryginal HTC ( becuse it's LOCKED ).
If we first reflash bootloader to stock ( by fastboot) one we can't use this tool.
So the last way to lock bootloader is to RELOCK it afrer flash ROM --> BOOTLOADER --> USB FASTBOOT, and after that we have factory state phone, but the status of bootloader is RELOCKED.
Am I Right ? There is no another way to LOCK bootloader after unlocking to use OTA ?
I'm just curious.

If your wanting to relock the bootloader I would flash to a stock Rom using fastboot and relock after that.

What locking tool you using? That seems long to get locked status.
I know this is not a phone but I locked a bootloader today on a Nexus 7 by using the same shell I unlocked it with.
I might be getting my wires crossed sorry if I am. Glad you got it sorted though.

by the shell on WFS You can lock bootloader using the same metod like before to unlock of course , but when you do this the bootloader status will be **RELOCKED** not **LOCKED**, so of course RUU and OTA update will works fine but Warranty is lost.
If you lock bootloader with this tool ( superversion option ) phone status will be **LOCKED** and you be able to flash stock ROM and stock bootloader.

[Q] Boot loader

Hi. I have a Htc one x that was locked to Three. I got unlock code which worked now on Orange ( EE). I tried to unlock bootloader with no success. Do i have to do something because the phone was locked to Three. Please help as i want to root phone.
Gary.
In what way did it not work ? Assume you followed the HTCdev method.
Sent from my HTC One X
I don't know if it resets the phone locked to 3 again when you unlock the bootloader, because unlocking the bootloader will reset the phone back to stock and i can't tell you if your carrier unlock code will still be active after this.
But what did you try to unlock the bootloader anyway ?

Thanks for the quick reply. I used the HTC Development method. Is there a way to root without the dev bit.
No, unlocking the bootloader must be done with the htcdev site.....did you get the unlock code.bin file ?
Mr hofs is right mate use htcdev site, plenty of guides knocking around on xda, I was locked to three but followed all the steps unlocked bootloader rooted, changed hboot and flashed a new Rom, daunting at first but so worth it you will see the difference.....good luck!

Another tip mate for the whole root thing use hasoon2000's all in one tool kit really easy if Ur not at ease with the whole adb thing cheers

I would learn adb/fasrboot....much easier to get out of trouble !
Example :
You use a toolkit to unlock and flash a custom recovery, for instance TWRP. Then you make your nandroid backup and running custom roms.....all no problem then you need to return to stock and need to flash the boot.emmc.win (the kernel/boot.img) but the toolkits only supports boot.img file .......
Get the problem there ?

Thats true buddy, I admittedly had to use fastboot when returning to stock for an OTA update a while back (it didn't like cwm) so returned to stock with stock recovery and then later flashed another rom etc....I stand corrected - IF u need to return to stock!

I get ya ... no worries
I used the toolkit originally but learnt commands now. You then understand what your actually doing to your phone and are less likely to brick it or at least have a better chance to fix it if it does go Pete tong.

HTC One m8 - bricked??

Hi
I was wondering if anyone could help me.
I was s-off, rooted and decided i wanted to return to stock.
Anyway,i did the following
downloaded correct nandroid ruu and flashed it all ok
I then decided to flash the recovery back to stock so can install the ota updates, i had the htc one toolkit at hand so did it through there and it all said success
Opened fastboot and relocked bootloader all fine.
I rebooted and download the first ota update however it seems the recovery did not flash and am still ion twrp, so could not install ota update.
I tried to reflash it, of course it wont because bootloader now locked
when i try to unlock using fastboot oem relock i get the [ERR] command error
I cant unlock using htcdev as i still have the custom recovery.
Does anyone have any idea on how else i can get back to custom recovery, while the bootloader is still locked, or is there any other way to unlock the bootloader?
Many thanks
steve
Why don't you install the latest RUU using the sdcard method?
Btw I believe you can unlock using htcdev. Just flash the unlock token you got the first time.

That doesn't work either ! ......you have to "flash" the unlock token again, the one he got the first time.....he can use it again !
And if you use a RUU on a S-OFF device you do NOT have to relock the bootloader.
And the RUU he used wasn't an original RUU......an original RUU always flashes the stock recovery !

Oh right, indeed, that is true. It's been a while for me since I last done that. Probably back when I had my HTC Legend.
