Glass-M Glass Screen Protector - Nexus 5 Accessories

hello guys
Just wanna let you know that the Glass-M Premium Tempered Glass Screen Protector, is now avilibale fot our Nexus 5. Iv'e used this for my xpiera Z and thought its was as good as the spigen, maybe even better because off the smooth edges.
i've ordred one, price is 17,99 $ and 5 $ for shipping. Will tell more about it when i'll get one.
http://theglass-m.com/collections/featured/products/glass-m-premium-tempered-glass-screen-protector-for-google-nexus-5

Those protectors are very good. A friend of mine using that for the iphone 5 for over two months.
But the big disadvantage: you cannot use a case with the glassprotector because the glass protector is too thick.

Hi, I just installed mine. I used the hinged method to install this screen protector on to my Nexus 5.
Here's a video of the hinged method http://youtu.be/dt9_fZDT-As
It works as advertised. Screen sensitivity is maintained thanks to its super thin 0.15mm premium tempered glass.

Interested in your feedback 3 months later OP

Has anyone got any more feedback on this tempered glass? Fit, strength, chip resistance, oleophobic coating etc?

Ordered One actually Ultra slim..didn't reached yet..!

Sorry for the late response as I have been following this thread and my 0.15mm slim Glass-M screen protector for my Nexus 5 shipped earlier today and it fits nicely. It is my first time putting on a glass screen protector, or a screen protector for that matter on. I used the hinge method and it fits almost perfect except that the earpiece cutout isn't that aligned but it's fine, what's done is done lol. I love the feel of it, pretty much feels like the OEM glass. I am using it together with a Ballistic Shell Gel case (the less beefy version of the SG MAXX without the belt holster) and it fits fine, no interference though it feels a bit snug when putting the silicone and then polycarbonate backing on with the screen protector but nothing serious at all. I tested out scratching my keys on it with medium pressure and there were no scratches. I don't think I'd do anything harsher than that though LOL

Thanks for your feedback, one question I have is how does the oleophobic coating perform? Coming from Nexus 4 to nexus 5 I was immediately impressed with the coating on the Nexus 5 screen. If I am going to use a glass screen protector I would like it to also have good oleophobic properties.

Hi again! Yes, about the oleophobic coating, I feel it is decent, not amazing though. It will occasionally pick up some fingerprints but light presses on the screen (after washing your hands) won't leave any prints.

I received my Glass-M today...
It is my first tempered glass. 19.99$ US for the new 0.15mm
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/0-15...en-Protector-For-Google-Nexus/1500677869.html
I must say that I'm very impressed, the installation was easy, I had everything in the box (tempered glass, cleaning cloth, alcohol cloth, dust cleaning film, etc)
I can't compare to any other since it's my first one but it's very nice
it feels very smooth (glass) , no bubble or spider webs (yet),
my old screen protector was VERY fingerprint magnet but not this glass !!
it's cool !

here are some photos

Thanks, very helpful. I went ahead and ordered one

So can you confirm this thing have a GOOD oleophobic coating?
I tried so many different screen protector, glass or not, and so far nothing can match the coating that came from the phone manufacturer - it last much longer.

Spigen has a good coating. Closest I've used to not feeling a protector on at all.. Very good.
Sent from my Nexus 5

I'm using Glass-M, the thick one, since december or so.
It's really good, but it has some problems: I can't use some cases like Diztronic's (I don't know if I could with 0.15mm version), and the oleophobic coating is vanishing with time. Today I can notice more fingerprints than the first day.

I had just installed the 0.15 mm, one word, brilliant, very easy to install it not a single bubble, very thin is very hard to notice that is there the touch is very smooth and most important isn't a finger magnet, highly recommended. I am using it with the spigen ultra crystall shell case.:good:

What case is that on ur nexus ?

Thanks, I have the 0.15mm arriving soon so it is good to hear positive feedback. I just hope the coating lasts long enough.

Oleophobic screen protector?

Ehi guys, which screen protector do you use?
I've got Mediadevil cristal clear. Not bad, but it's not oleophobic at all. Do you know a good oleophobic screen protector? Thank you!
I'm fairly sure the Spigen GLAS series of protectors are oleophobic, as well as the Obliq Zeiss Oleophobic one. Neither of these are as good as the screen but they work well. I have the Obliq one and I love it,

Thank you for your input man, it's my first day with the awesome Nexus 5!
The Spigen GLAS tempered glass screen protectors do have some oleophobic properties, but it still gathers fingerprints quite easily (I have this on my N5). I've also used a Clarivue Anti-Glare screen protector that was also oleophobic, and while it worked for a while the surface started to rub off and was clearly worn out after several months of use, especially around where the keyboard is.
No oleophobic screen protector is perfect (obviously) and be cautious of those that will wear out after some use. And obviously it reduces the screen quality in some cases. Just food for thought.
I use this. It has oleophobic coat like on gorilla glass, but seems to attract some dust in my pocket unlike non-oleophobic screen protectors..

@gnufabio sorry for the off post but would it be any possibility for you to add the tf101 parts to the op so that we can use them without the server?
I just finished installing a Nillkin H+ Tempered Glass Screen Protector. It also has the oleophobic coating (pretty much all tempered glass screen protectors have it, if they want to be rated 9H) and it seems to be working quite well.
The good thing about this one is it has the nice rounded edges and is ~$25 - $30 cheaper than the Spigen. Spigen is charging way too much for what you get. Their glass screen protectors are not worth $40.
Just read through these though, and decide what is best for you.

Just adding a comment that the Nillkin tempered glass oleophoic coating works quite well for me. I have had it for a couple months now, and no complaints. Basically Stock feel (on glass) and I'd say the coating is better than stock screen.

Who here use the iloome flex?

I will get N5 soon, and will use a glass screen protector, many guys here had hard time, with a bubble near the bottom. Also I have read, that some chip or crack to easy, and most of them are thick, iloome present the FLEX as a good solution from both worlds, glass and plastic, and it also it thinner than others, my only concern is, how much oleophobic it is? and does it also have a bubble problem? price is cheaper than others, but still want to hear your opinion.

The bubble problem has nothing to do with the screen protector. The problem is that the screen of the Nexus 5 is not flat. That's what causes the spider webs. About your other query, I use a Nillkin Protector so can't comment

I asked about the FLEX, because it's obviously flexible, see..on one hand, I don't want a plastic screen protector, on other, don't want to deal with a bubble, so maybe, because it's flexible, it will not have a bubble, I think it actually a thin peace of glass, between 2 pieces of plastic, like they put in cars, but still harder than just a plastic screen protector.
I had the flex and replaced it with a glas M protectos. The flex was just ok, and not at all oleo phobic. My wife has a mime feather on her mini ipad and it's great, I have a glas tr from spigen on my n5 and the glass M on my n7. I'd rate the mime tops, the glass M second and the glas tr third. The spigen is really nice but it's also the most expensive.
I just installed the flex a couple days back, installation was easy. I used the hinge method they recommend and turned on the shower water for humudity. I've had another cheap glass protector from eBay that was thicker but I love this one much more. Oleophobic coating I's good also. Definitely recommend..

By oleophobic, I meant, how good it with smudges and fingerprints, and does it really feel like glass? I also want it as it thinner than any others, don't want the bulky look, and again cheaper than the competitors, but dunno how good they with warranty, than again, if it will protect my screen, that what most important. Anymore comments guys? Bubble?
Like I said, of all the one's I've tried the iloome was the least smudge and fingerprint proof, it is NOT oleophobic. Nothing will be entirely fingerprint proof, but the iloome was so bad it was annoyingly dirty. It feels good though, so it just depends on what your priority is. I personally wouldn't buy it again, IMO there are better options.
Installed flex on my S4 and N5 as well as my friends devices (same 2). No complaints. I'm a fan of iloome and mime products.

I have a 3yrs old iphone 4, and think the oleophobic coating gone, but I can clean the screen very easy, with microfiber.
You say iloome just lie about the oleophobic part? Also you said you had it, did you had a bubble under the screen?or it was fine down there?
I had the bubble on some generic glass screen protector; using the nillkin, I have no problems, so from just my experiences I'd recommend the nillkin. Also, the nillkin's oleophobic coating definitely works: just wipe the screen on a section of your clothes and the smudges come straight off.
Tapped from my Nexus 5
I used the flex, but i didn't like it much. Didn't have the glass feel, it felt more like a regular screen protector. I switched it for Nillkin glass screen protector.

I would have to disagree. Although the bubble problem resonates from the actual screen itself, the thickness/type of protector does matter. A thicker protector will be unable to mold itself to the screen of the N5 resulting in the bubble
I myself use the iloome flex and I have zero bubbles. It was never an issue even right after installing it.
As for the oleophobic coating, I find the screen protector quite easy to clean compared to a normal screen protector. No protector will be 100% fingerprint proof, but the ease of cleaning is pretty good imo.

oleophobic glass screen protector?

Searching through threads I couldn't find a clear answer on this. Are any of the tempered glass screen protectors oleophobic? My OPO is a fingerprint magnet right now.

Go for Nillkin, I have used it in other mobile and it is the best.
I've been looking at that one and I think i'm just about sold. Any idea how it will fit with a TPU case? I assume that will stop the edges from getting chipped, which was the only big complaint I saw.

I'm using a nillkin and diztronic ultra tpu case and it looks great!
you can also buy a thing of oleophobic fluid. it works, and works well. it takes around ten drops, twice, to do it. so the little bottle goes a long way.

Got mine in a Tudia cygen case with nillkin and it's great. You still see fingerprints but I do find them much less than without the protector. Too bad my son dropped it today and cracked it at the top so I'll try a generic tempered glass protector and see the difference.
Phantom Glass makes one (Part: PGS-ONEPLUSONE)
Expensive ordering direct (why are most of these companies like this?).
Lifetime warranty so I guess that's what you're paying for, along with said coating.

Get any generic tempered glass, haven't seen any without oleophobic coating, you can get it as cheap as +3 $ buying some expensive as 15 - 20 $ is just silly...
The nilkin tempered glass is a must have..! Buy it and you won't regret it!
I had Nilkin but I guess wasn't clean enough and kinda screwed it up. Bought an Orzly next and it fit perfectly, even better than the Nilkin in my opinion.
Ultimate shield
If u want an oleophobic tempered glass, ultimate shield must be your choice,
is very clean and clear, and save me lot of time.
Comment above is correct. I got a Nillkin 9H and it has a coating too. I see water drops sliding back and forth with no traces left on the glass plus when you use it it does gather fingerprints however once put inside the pocket and taken out, fingerprints go away when the phone rubs against the pocket lining. I would say don't go with ultra thin ones go with a regular thickness and middle of the ground for 8-9 dollars. I got a Nillkin with Tudia TPU and its fits, feels and looks perfect.
I ended up going with the Nillkin and i'm quite happy with it. The instructions were hilariously bad, but I got it installed fairly painlessly. Thanks for the suggestions.

Searching for a resitant case

Hello. Last week I received my tempered glass and my case from Godsmith. Luckly, or not, in 3 days I broked the glass protector. But this was not the problem. After 2 days after I used the case, The top corners broked, even if I dropped the phone only 2-3 times, but nothing seruously. One morning, the plastic around the camera was broken too, and the $10 I've spent for it were gone. That's why I am asking you guys. I need a new case which is very resistant, but not from silicone. I want ine just like the one from Godsmith, but with a better build quality. Thanks.
I'm currently running the Ringke FUSION case.
Looks not so pretty, but it's very resistant, especially on corners. A few weeks ago my One fell hitting the floor with absolutely no damage to case and/or phone.
It seems to be pretty thick.
they're not to thick, so far it's my favorite one I bought 2 the clear one and the one with the tint. I like showing off my bamboo back cover so rocking the clear one the most. I'm using with the tempered glass screen protector from OPO fit it's great no issues. The distronic cases might be a good choice for you they're thin decent protection and fit is good

Thank you for your answers guys. I just found out that the case I am looking for is a hard one, like these ones: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/One-...-one-Oneplus-Screen-Protector/2014021845.html, http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Qual...Cover-For-OnePlus-A0001-Phone/1975081836.html.
Like I said before, i used for a couple of days this one, http://www.aliexpress.com/snapshot/6553333285.html?orderId=66333886303327, and it felt awesome, very thin, like I didn't have it on. But after a couple of days of usage, the corners and the plastic near the camera broke, poor quality I guess. If anyone used/have a hard case like this, please review it for me. Thanks.

Film Screen Protector for HTC 10

What are good film screen protectors for our device? With full coverage and proper cutouts. Clear and not soft.
Looks like there won't be any decent tempered glass option, so I'm starting this thread.
This is what I use, and I am happy with it.
I did figure out that it was polarized the other day when using my 10 for navigation in my car. I could not see it in portrait with my sunglasses on. I had to either turn my head or rotate to landscape to be able to see the phone display.
EDIT: The screen is polarized *Not* the screen protector

Spigen crystal is pretty good. I tried a couple of TGSP's and they sucked really bad so I turned to the PET film from Spigen. It's really thin, clear, and precisely cut. It could be a tiny bit wider, but it does cover the viewable area. It feels pretty decent for a film (not a lot of friction) and you can barely tell it's there. $7.99 for a 3-pack on Amazon.
I second the Spigen Crystal Film screen protector. I've been using it and it's done a decent job so far. Not as nice as a TGSP would be in regards to feel but decent smudge/fingerprint resistance.
Post some pictures of your phone with the Spigen film?

I've Spigen Crystal PET screen protectors were my go-to before tempered glass became the norm, so I'll probably be pretty happy with them (although I will miss the feel of glass)

Fitment is perfect at the top of the phone. Could be wider but otherwise it's awesome.

This is the first picture I've seen regarding the fit of this screen pro. Cheers!
I'm using the Spigen crystal too; unless the light is just right, it's hard to see it at all.
The surface is less 'slippy' to the finger than the glass, but having used a similar protector (not Spigen) on my old phone, I find it familiar.
Definitely a much better fit than any of the tempered glass protectors.
However, I've noticed that it's much thinner/flimsier than the older Spigen Crystal PET protectors.
I split a 3-pack with two buddies of mine with the HTC 10, but unfortunately I think mine warped slightly during install:

Sent an e-mail through asking for a warranty replacement - we'll see if they are willing to replace it.
Other than that warp bubble, I'm pretty happy with it overall. Not as slick as glass, but does the job.

I found your post! I love your reviews, keep em coming !
I have the spigen based on comments here and I don't like it. The adhesion is poor and I already had to replace my initial protector after a week, not to mention its a little tacky and not smooth, and looks wavy and uneven under light. As far as dimensions are concerned its good, I just wish it lasted longer than a week.
Another vote for the spigen. Applied properly, mine has no bubbles and is not wavy. Also, the comments about it being too small are incorrect. It is sized perfectly for the flat part of the screen. At the edges on all sides the glass on the 10 is beveled. If the screen protector went to the edges there would be bubbles or the protector would peel off.
I just placed an order for the zagg film.
Ill report back when i receive it
Just received in the mail the spigen crystal screen protector, and incipio NGP case. Both fit perfectly! The screen pro fit as close to the edge as possible, and no issues with edge lifting while putting the case on the phone! After installing the screen pro there are very small little waves which I've seen on other screen protectors, which disappear within a day or two..
Prior to this film protector I tried the nillkin glass and was a horrible fit. (I did receive a refund for it however..)
I am now content with case and screen protector!
Cheers,
I installed Spigen crystal film, it could be 2mm each side wider but I dont mind. Its not bad.

I don't know if you figured this out yet, but it is your screen that is polarized, not the film protector you applied.
For some reason, the Tianma display panels are polarized. Probably for enhanced viewing in sunlight, is my guess.
