Long Press Menu Button - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note 3

Is there a way to change the long press of the menu button to open Google Now instead of S-Finder? Perhaps in the form of a module for Xposed Framework?

i froze it with titanium and that worked

So yours opens up Google now?

Mine does... but I have Google Now turned off so it ends up at a search like page with a link at the bottom that says Get Google Now. If it wasn't turned off it would be displaying.

I just tried that, and now nothing opens when I long press menu.

I use Nova Prime launcher and it opens Google Now/Search instead of S Finder. Don't know if there's an option somewhere.

Google NOW (working on SGSIII)

I saw this on Engadget and tried it out on my AT&T SGSIII running Kyan ROM and it worked. Thought I would link the forum here so everyone could see it. Its not mine, just sharing the "now goodness".

Second FYI, after you flash it just simply hold the menu button and it will bring it up. Worked perfectly for me.

Figured it out. If you want it to listen what you say, you need to say "Google" first and then whatever you want to do like "note to self"
My mom just got the SGSIII yesterday and wanted Google Now. Glad to see this works.

for anyone interested in replacing the "voice dial" with google now voice search follow these instructions:
1.)Go into S-voice settings and uncheck the option "Launch S-Voice"
2.)Download a free app from the market called "home2 shortcut" (or link here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.eikatou0.appspot.home2shortcut)
3.)Set the double tap home option (Home> Home) to launch "Voice Search" from installed applications. (make sure it displays a blue microphone when you do this)
4.)Continue with the instructions for the app and close the app.
5.)Test it out, if it doesn't launch directly into the voice search after doing the double home then follow the next few steps, if it does then skip to step 8.
6.)Open the Google Now app (it will be listed as "Google" in your app drawer)
7.)Press menu>refresh.
8.)Reboot
9.)Enjoy having Google Now on your Ice cream sandwich Samsung Galaxy S3!

[Mod][Guide][ICS]How to fully replace S-voice with Google Now voice search

This is simply a tutorial on how to replace Samsung's crappy s-voice with the amazing Google Now voice search!
In order to follow this guide you must be rooted, if you are not and wish to do so, follow the guide here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1739426 If you are already rooted, then continue with the guide!
Step 1: Installing Google Now:
1.)Download the Google now flashable zip here (download the one entitled mikey7 online/offline voice) XDA Google Now Download Thread
2.)Make sure they are on your internal SD card and reboot into recovery
3.)choose install zip file and navigate to wherever the file is (if you are unsure then there is a good chance that it is filed under downloads/mikey7_offline.zip)
4.)once you are done with this, turn your device back on and verify that the app "Google" is in your app drawer
5.)If so then continue with the tutorial, if not then retry and if that does not resolve the issue then post questions in this forum.
Step 2: Activating Google Now
1.)Make sure you have Google latitude installed and have set up your account for latitude before continuing just to be safe.
2.)Launch the Google Now app and go through the setup until you click the "Yes, I'm in." option and your cards appear
3.)Continue to the next and final step or, if you are happy with not being able to launch Now via double tapping the home button, stop here and have a nice day!
Step 3: Replacing S-Voice
1.)Go into S-voice settings and uncheck the option "Launch S-Voice"
2.)Download a free app from the market called "home2 shortcut" (or link here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.eikatou0.appspot.home2shortcut ..)
Don't Forget to hit the thanks button if this helped you!

Thanks this worked perfectly!
Great post! Thanks!
Thanks for this...is there a way to set this up so that a single press while in my launcher (Nova Launcher) returns to the default screen? Single presses in the launcher do not currently do anything.

You maybe can go into gestures settings in nova and set up the double tap for voice search in nova. However, you may have to triple press. This was actually my work around for a small time. You may have to buy the premium nova in order to use gestures though. Hope this works!

the manual search is working perfectlly on my tab 10.1 running 4.0.4.
but the voice function is not. the message of "shell has been granted in su perm" kept appering for tens of times. then the app get forced to close.
thanks for the great effort...

That link installed a version of any cut that keeps crashing. I have a Verizon galaxy s3 rooted worth stock jelly bean. Is there an updated version? Is the app device, or ROM specific?
Here is the playstore version. It also crashes on mine.

The Google play one says not found even in browser. The one from Tewlman's dropbox says the same as the others; after I click "Activity" The app crashed with "unfortunately anycut has stopped"
Try clearing app data and cache via app manager, then uninstall, boot to recovery, wipe cache and dalvic, reboot and reinstall.

That didn't work. I used ROM manager to clear the caches after I uninstalled the app. It had no data to delete before I uninstalled. Am I the only one with this issue? Are there any good alternative apps?
There is no newer version and it crashes on jellybean if you run it from the app shortcut. It will work if you drag a widget from the widget tray to a homescreen.

It isn't listed as an available widget when I long possessed the home screen. See the attached. I also tried am app shortcut on the home screen which ended with the same error

Try with a long press to (touchwiz) home screen, after select "apps and widgets", find it in the widget list and drag it to home screen. This is the only way I can use it without crash. I use it on SGS3 mini with stock JB 4.1.1

I just tried. it crashes right after I select "Activity" I also use Go Launcher, but for the purpose of your test, I switched back to Touchwiz.
Here is the one I use. I have used it on stock and custom ROMs. You have to use a home launcher that supports shortcuts, like Apex or ADW. Just long press on a home screen and when you get a popup select shortcut then select Anycut. Then select activity and scroll through the list. There are some that will force close, but I have found that a lot of the system shortcuts do work.

I uninstalled anycut and installed the one you attached. I tried the shortcut with Go Launcher and also Touchwiz. Both have the same result...after clicking "Activity" it says "Unfortunately Anycut had stopped working"

I use it with Apex. I cannot speak to the others as I have not used them. You should also try fixing permissions. Permissions being off can cause FC.

Impossible to choose Google Now Launcher

Hi all,
I wanted to try the Google Now Launcher but after downloading it (Play Store), it won't be listed in the default launcher settings...
When I click on its icon, I'm told that it's not the default launcher, sends me to the Nova "clear default" options but then I can't choose it, it won't even shows up in the list of installed launchers!
Where am I wrong?
Thanks in advance!
