[Q] Flashing KitKat kills EMEI - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I'm using BeanStalk 4.3 and tried to flash the new 4.4 version. But unfortunately this kills my EMEI. Tried with several other 4.4 roms
but with the same result. Doing a recovery with backup of 4.3 works fine and EMEI is back again and the phone works perfectly.
Phone is Note 2 LTE (Vodafon)
What is going wrong? After flashing the rom and a new start there's a message that I have to insert my SIM-card correctly.
Anybody else having the same problem? Any solution known?
Thanks
Eckhard

Hi,
no one with an idea?
I'm wondering that each time I flash a 4.4 rom I don't have to unlock my SIM-card as it's protected.
Already tried TWRP but same result. Still using BeanStalk 4.3:crying:

[Q] Camera won't work after going back to stock

Hey All,
I have the ATT S3 variant, and for the longest time I was running a TW based rom that was made from a galaxy note rom and supported multiview.I decided to flash my phone back to LK3 stock and now my camera won't work. Ive tried wiping the cache and doing a factory reset. I've tried the reinstall a couple of times. Out of curiosity, I flashed CM10.2 and the camera worked fine. I Once again tried flashing the stock rom, but the issue still persists. Whenever I open up the camera app I get the error "Camera Failed". I tried typing in the code to get the camera firmware version, but it just shows a black screen. Any ideas on what I can do to fix this?

flashing 4.2.2 is working but 4.1.2 is not

Hi, i have a strange problem. i have been using alot of roms.changing different roms off and on. but i thought of trying original 187 kdz file. then i rooted it. removed inwanted programes and it was functioning great. but when i wanted to use 3G net,it was not shifting from G to 3G service. i tried alot of methods but failed.
then i installeted cm 6.0.4.5 and tried to install sphinx rom. it booted normally but stuck at setup screen. then started boot looping. i again flashed. but same thing. now i am able to install 4.2.2 but not 4.1.2 some how. 4.2.2 color os rom is working great but not 4.1.2 rom. i have repeated kdz flashing rooting bit no avail.
any advice suggestion.

[Q] Broke my modem

So I made the ultimate noob mistake of not making sure the ROM I flashed was made specifically for my model of Note, which is i317. I downloaded and flashed the International models version. Once I got into the phone, I noticed I no longer had cellular connectivity. When I tried to go into the network settings, it tells me there is no SIM card detected.
I restored from my backup, but the issue persists. I am currently downloading and preparing to flash the correct version in hopes that it will fix this issue.
Has anyone else had to deal with this issue? Did flashing the correct rom fix it? Is my only option to go back to stock, or will that even work?
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Fixed
Fixed with the modem recovery rom found here.

Same here on DN3 v5. I'd like to give it a try, but I get stuck at the SAMSUNG logo too. I have tried SlimKat and I like it alot... If you learn the trick to DN3, please let me know! Thank you and good luck!

Lollipop Roms drop connection when screen turns off

I recently tried to upgrade to CM 12.1 for my T Mobile S4 being used on the Wind Network in Canada. But when ever the screen turns off it will lose connection to the cellular network, when i turn it back on i get a bunch of notifications, sometimes it will buzz 2 or 3 times for the same notification. I tried searching but can't find anything pertaining to this. i also tried other builds, Slim LP, Resurrection and the GPE but still all show the same issue
Has anyone seen this before let alone know how to fix it?

lollipop is known to be buggy with network on our device. Sometimes I even get sim card removed message and after a couple dozen reboots will my sim be recognized again. I suggest to stick with the rom that works flawlessly for you and skip lollipop, for now atleast.
And that's why I only root my phone, and run it stock. Roms always do this, no matter what anyone says. And I said this in my other thread, but ppl try to day otherwise. I told you guys lollipop roms are buggy for our phones. 4.4.4 for the win. Just uninstall bloatware and ur good to go.

So it's not just me with the SIM Card problem either. I got that so many times on lollipop and I tried to flash a 4.4.4 ROM again and it would still give me the SIM Card not detected. I was going to get it repaired again and I flashed stock MetroPCS tar and it got rid of the problem. I don't knowant if I would root again and just flash a 4.4.4 ROM and use xposed. I don't want that SIM Card problem to happen again. It's annoying.

I stayed with it for about a week before flashing stock firmware. Rebooted many times while I had it and it still happened. I've been on stock firmware for over 3 weeks and no problem at all.

No, I tried MD 1.3 and the stock T-Mobile ROM. Also forgot to mention I had a really bad problem with the Play Store. I couldn't install anything at all. I'd always get error 905 and this other number I forgot. No matter what I tried I couldn't get a fix, clearing cache, data, dalvik, uninstalling updates, reboots after each one and nothing fixed. Stock Firmware seemed to fix all the problems I had

undetected sim, Unknown baseband, Rogers, d2can, cm14.1

I recently installed cm14.1 on a Rogers d2can phone and I got unknown baseband and sim card stopped working. I tried flashing different modems which made the situation worse as now even old cm11 roms show unknown baseband.
Can someone please tell me where I can download modem zip file that works for Rogers and for cm14.1?
I recommend flashing the latest KK stock ROM from sammobile.com which will restore your phone back to stock and ensure the bootloader and modem/baseband are matched. After flashing stock and confirming that the imei is correct, then flash twrp, cm14.1, and gapps.
I was downloading from sammobile.com very slow and the download was interrupted in the middle. I will try again later.
Is there a better site to download firmware from?
So I downloaded it and flashed using odin. Flashing took a while but it passed. The phone got stuck on bootloop though.
So I booted to stock recovery and performed a factory reset. Booted again. Now it works!
I'm going to stay on Touchwiz 4.4.2 for a while.
Glad you got it working.
I would not call "staying on Touchwiz 4.4.2", "working" more like opening yourself to a long list of known exploits.
Others are having the same issue (cyanogenmod is dead so I removed the link, hope LineageOS fixes the issue some day.)
Using the last good CM-13 build is probably the best for now.
sim not provision ed MM#2...... easiest fix ....please n thanks;;;;
We'll need more information in order to help solve the sim problem like model #, ROM, etc.
