Out of curiosity, why did you run device health? You had to give it permission to do that. When I looked at that part of the app, I just said nope... and have never run that set of tests.

Or why haven't you frozen the app. Glad I did that a while ago
Sent from my SM-N900T using Tapatalk

I usually do delete it I updated the ROM in running. And I wanted to see how much data I used.
I guess my curiosity got the best of me
Sent from my SM-N900T using Tapatalk

Wow I'm guessing that information is going to be passed on to tmobile as well. So more than likely that information may reflect on your account.

I would think so. I posted this so others don't run the device health craps. Or get rid of the app all together. Just trying to pass along Info to my family

Wow are they really that he'll bent on keeping users from rooting their phones... I mean it's enough we haft to deal with the knox crap.

Just delete that ish, and install another 3rd party data usage app.

Or use the other my account app

As for the app in question, not the one listed just above, when you go to the beta health check section the first time, it pops up a message saying what it its going to do and what it will do with the info it collects. Hard to miss it since it uses the entire screen and gives you an out.
And that includes a more info button which takes you to a website that includes FAQs and info on how tio turn it off and flush the info.
It doesn't mention anything about a root check, but considering what it collects, getting that info is pretty trivial for any diagnostics tool.
If you say no to the check (clicking on close) it doesn't do it. The next time you enter that section if you said no before, it acts like you have never been there before and asks again.

If you accepted it then went back and uncheck the box will it still collect it since you accepted already? Btw im on stock but planning on rooting later, that's why I'm asking. Don't want to root and have them know when I do decide to root.
Sent from my SM-N900T using xda app-developers app

Well at least the reps in the store don't care. When I was looking between the Nexus, Note 3 and G2 after the rep told me the Nexus was the easiest to root if I did that.
I do have a friend that works at a store. I should ask him how that affects things.

Most likely has no effect in a store. It is designed to give a tech info about the device to see why something may not be working properly.
If you uncheck the allow diagnostics button it stops collecting the info. Note that if you use the Health App (Fitness app), it has a similar hardware check to make sure the sensors are working properly for it to calculate properly.

Why would T-Mo change your service for rooting? It's your device, they aren't going to care if you've customized it for service reasons but for support and warranty reasons it is a thing they want to know. If you don't use their support for your device it won't matter.

Just saw the update in the play store.not going to update thatapp.

I enabled mine also but after seeing it sees all my apps I disabled it even though I'm not rooted. After a day now I don't see any history. Hopefully they won't keep track anymore in case I root.

They use carrier IQ to obtain the information shown in the app. All you're doing when agreeing to the app's terms is enabling CIQ in the settings. The app itself doesn't give them any more information than they already get, it just shows it to you as well.

[APP] Next Launcher 3D FREE today only 6/7/2013 [EXPIRED]

mrmako777 said:
ok guys, as you can see by my sig, i flip back and forth between a few devices. yesterday when this deal went live, i installed next launcher on both my s3 and my xoom and successfully activated the full version. i intentionally did not install the launcher on my htc amaze.
today, i went ahead and sent my tb backup from my s3 to my amaze to see if my backup would activate the full version on a device that did not have next launcher installed. it seems as tho the code is authenticated when the app is launched and so i got a failed activation. i turned off my data connection, cleared the apps data and restored my tb data and it showed the full version UNTIL i turned my data connection back on and the app was reloaded. so, if you have another device you did not install and activate the full version on, your backup is useless.
next, i uninstalled the launcher from my xoom that had a previously confirmed full version. i reinstalled next launcher and restored my tb data to see if i would retain the full version. guess what...it worked fine!
it seems as tho the activation is tied in with the device ID, so if you uninstall it and use your backup it will only work on the device it was originally activated on. keep this in mind when you upgrade or flash roms that change the device ID. TB has a feature to restore the previous device ID after flashing, so this may be helpful for those ppl that want to continue using next launcher full version even after theyve flashed a new rom or upgraded.

Just passing this along. enjoy! :good:
Download the trial version of Next Launcher 3D to get started, and choose Get Free when the splash screen comes up. To unlock it, open the menu and go into preferences. Since this interface is going to take some getting used to, I'll just let you know the menu button is in the far right dock position. In preferences, scroll all the way down and tap on About Full Version. Choose the Activate option, and put in "nextlauncher3d" as the account, and "appoftheday" as the code (both without the quotes). The app should be unlocked and you can play around without worrying about the trial period expiring.
This unlock code is only valid today, and it won't tie the upgrade to your Google account permanently. So think about backing up the app using Helium or Titanium Backup if you want to be safe. Next Launcher also overrides the background image in all launchers when it's installed. You can change it back, but still a small annoyance. All the Go widget packs are installed separately, but they appear to all be free.

Worthwhile Apps, Games, Movies, etc with $50 Credit

So for those of you that didn't know, Samsung is giving $50 Free for buying Note 3.
See original Thread Here > http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2534883
Source > http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/1...lay-credit-just-for-buying-the-phone-us-only/
----------------------------
BUT that is not the main purpose of this thread. This thread is for seeing what other people will do with a Free $50 Google Play Store Credit.
I've been debating the following:
1. Buying a couple games that previously were too much for me
A. The Walking Dead Game
B. Drastic (Nintendo DS Emulator)
2. I considered a movie or music but I already have all access and movies seem like a waste
3. I don't know if it's possible but can this credit go toward Nexus devices
So the question is, what will you do with those $50 extra dollars? Anything good out there that is worth using some or all of this credit for. I'm interested to learn about apps, games, etc that I may not otherwise have heard of before having free money.
Usually too much, but since it's free List (ongoing)
.The Walking dead Game
.GTA Vice City
.Modern Combat 4
.Drastic
.PPSSPP Gold
.Shady sms and shady picture safe.
.Power Amp
.Modern combat 4
.Xda premium
.Ninja sms pro
.Tasker
.Nova Launcher pro
.Fast burst camera
.titanium back-up(root users)
.Gran theft auto 3
Movie rentals and games.

Are you rooted?
If so, consider purchasing the full or pro version of things.
Like titanium backup, root explorer, region away etc...
That's what I've done.
I am considering a couple of games. The Gameloft titles are pretty awesome in this device. But I haven't pulled the trigger on any.
The credit is only good for apps books movies etc... NOT valid for any hardware or devices in the store.

EDIT: There's also a WTR1605L transceiver inside that can apparently handle all LTE bands. Any possibility of unlocking support for AWS band 4 LTE?

The problem is we haven't gotten any update like on the S4 that explicitly says band 4 has been enabled and the FCC test reports don't show any info about it either. I'm wondering if they left out official support for it like on the Nexus 4, and if there's some way we could force on AWS in the firmware.

Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 4
I have the app installed (it came installed on EclipticONE), but the radio is never able to find a station to tune to anything. Based on my searching, it looks like almost all, if not all recent Verizon phones have had FM Radio disconnected in the hardware, so it's not something a software fix will work on. Verizon is just trying to find another way to charge us for data by forcing us to stream radio if we want local stations. (Luckily I still have unlimited data!)

Some idiot spammed my numer what to do???!!!

Hello so yesterday I put my galaxy gear for sale on craiglist. I got a message from a person telling me hes interested and what not. Should of been smarter but this guy told me he will be calling me from some craiglist security thing to make sure I wassnt spam of fake. So I told him it sounds shady he could be a scammer but to go ahead and call because I aint one. He said when I call you dial 41 so I can reach you. So the call came im. I dialed 41 and the background voice said that my account was now active like wtf? What account. I hanged up immediately. I have had like 4 phone calls of random numbers starting with area code 214. Also I got the callback number from this one voice mail I received I lookes it up on the Internet and nothing came up. Can anyone help me out here?
Sent from my SM-N900T using Tapatalk
Lol yeah call ur provider and let them know. U dialing 41 made it legal. So what ever the charge is they might make you pay it. You might have to appeal it and maybe even go to cops and file report to get charges reversed. Good luck

Hence the reason why I don't use Craigslist. Plus ALWAYS get a Google Voice number if you're going to use Craigslist. Then you use that and have it forwarded to you phone and then you can just delete the google voice number if you don't want it anymore.

If you're trying to forward voicemails to Google Voice with a T-Mobile prepaid plan, it won't work. T-Mobile doesn't allow it. That might be your issue.
Have you checked T-Mobile for the list of calls made to or from your account? Might want to do that.

This was actually on the news in my town.
It's a new cell phone scam.
They call you, and when you answer, it says to press a few numbers and then it charges your account.
It happened to a couple about 2 hours from me, they got charged almost $2,000 because they merely answered their phone.
People have nothing better to do than sit around and figure out how to mess with people.

I got that "content block" from tmobile. Any 3rd party charges to any charges at all on my tmobile account will not work. My account is now protected from any charges last time I spoke to tmobile they told me no chargers where made to my account. But at least I can rest assured tmobile got my account blocked out of any unauthorized access. Didn't even know you could do that. It's free

Yea it's pretty pathetic what people will do for $, but wow exactly why would anyone answer their cellphone and press numbers. Some problems and scams only work because people have lack of intelligence. I mean just look at the U S go ferment. Biggest scam to date

There was an article on Phandroid about this cell phone scam the other day. Don't know if it's the same as this but sounds just like it.
