Charging port semi broken - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 4

I have to bend my cord up to get my phone to charge. Is this a warranty exchange issue? T mobile take care of this? Just curious while I'm on tonight before I go the t mobile route or Samsung. Searched and saw it's pretty cheap to fix yourself with the right know how

I had the same problem and its not your phone. Its the the cheap charging cable they gave us. Just go out and buy another cable and you'll be fine.

They say the warranty is up. Even HTC says they can't replace it. Is it impossible to do without the USB port?

you can not root without functioning USB port.
You can find a spare USB port on the net. They aren't that hard to replace. If you can't find a USB port try to find a posts incredible 2.

I ordered a broken inc 2 off of Ebay a while back. I had to replace the headphone jack. I found a tear down video on YouTube. Just takes about 5 mins of searching.

I just popped it open. It was really easy to tear down, now I just need the piece. The connector is fine, but the little mother board the usb port sits on is broke

Usb cable

Any one having problem with the supplied usb cable by samsung?
Mine is a bit loose, meaning I cant use my phone while charging it because of the usb cable connected to the phone os not that snug fit.
Any workaround to fix this issue. Opinions needed.
Thanks

I've been using Aduro 10ft USB cable for a while now and I love it. It charges fast and I have 0 issues with it. Plus its 10 feet long, how can you go wrong? Haha

Does that cable help with quicker charging? and does it lead to over heating?

Charges just like the original. Same speed i'd say. Only down side is the head is on the bigger size, i had to trim a little to fit most cases i have. If u have case with large port then u shouldn't have any issues.

Help charging issue!!?

I have a T-Mobile note 3 and I just bought it 2 days ago and I've noticed that the phone stops charging when I move it even slightly, and the only way to make it start charging again is to bend the cable so it is straight, again from the end, also it(the cable) seems loose and look's As if it hasn't gone in fully into the charging port, because It wiggles a lot. Please help!!?

Sounds like a hardware issue. I would take it back to the store and get it replaced.
Sent from my SM-N900T using XDA Premium HD app
Could it be an issue with the cable, because I charged it using a USB 2.0 charger and it worked perfectly?

Solution, just buy a new usb cable, could not be easier than that!
You can use either a usb 3.0 cable which came with
the phone or a usb 2.0 cable, it works fine either way.
Good luck!
OK thanks guys, it turns out the clip on The plug was broken, which is why it wasnt firm when I plugged it in, but I just bought a new one and that solved the problem.

You need something like this. It needs to have a chance to charge at the same time you using HDMI cable and being plugged in to phone.

Yeah, just like what dpalmer said, you would need Slimport instead of MHL. They are two different technologies that do roughly the same thing: convert video out from micro USB to HDMI. The main difference that I know about is that Slimport does not require you to have a power connection like MHL does. Otherwise, as far as I know, they both give you the same result, but are unfortunately incompatible with each other (a device with the hardware for MHL will not work with a Slimport adapter and vice versa). I think Slimport was supposed to gradually replace MHL but until then, there doesn't appear to be any specific method that is being adopted by every manufacturer.
