Invalid sim card error after flashing E975 kdz - LG Optimus G (International)

I successfully (??) flashed my F180k to E975K kdz/
everything seems ok, but I get Invalid sim error, and obviously cannot connect/
I tried to unlock the phone using freegee, running TWRP, with no success. should i run CWM 6.0.3.0?
Any other ideas why the phone is locked or how to unlock it?
thanks,

invalid sim got nothing to do with lock bootloader and recovery and freegee

the phone is permanently locked (!!) help...
Any ideas how to bypass it?

if it was working fine before try the same stock f180 firmware and see if that works, have no idea about sim unlocking on optimus G. search for that.

your guide is really great, I probably did something wrong. how can I tell if I am running the right baseband?
the baseband currently installed on my phone is APQ8064/MDM9x15M.
do you have another baseban file other than what you've linked to on your guide?
many thanks!

Any ideas as to how can it be unlocked? maybe if I will use other EFS backup?
will it be solved if I will go back to to the original KDZ?

This did not solve the problem.
The baseband fix seems to only fix the reception issues of the phone so that it can pick up the signal.
The problem I have is about the phone not recognizing the sim card. It will only recognize it when I go back to the stock F180K rom not the E975 rom.
By the way, all F180 phones are pre-unlocked by Korean law.

You do not need to touch the baseband if you already flashed the F180K rom.
The sim should be recognized and baseband should be the right one already.
If you need further info add jseo to kakao talk and send me a message and we can talk real time. I'm in Seoul

Hi Guys,
I need expert help here , it looks i brick my handset while i was trying to convert it into E975 by following the instruction
Guide
Regardless of which firmware you are currently running on your F180, you will need to download and switch to the corresponding one from the list below:
F180S : F180S20B_00.kdz
F180K : F180K20B_00.kdz
F180L : F180L20H_00.kdz
Tip: You can find your phone’s model by going to ‘Settings > About > Phone identity’ in Android.
Warning: Make sure your phone’s battery is at least charged 80%. Don’t proceed otherwise as LG Optimus G comes with non-removable battery and thus you won’t be able to easily swap the battery if it dies in the middle of the process.
It is mandatory that you factory reset your phone before proceeding. For doing so, go to ‘Settings > Privacy > Factory data reset’. Please keep in mind that doing so will wipe your phone including contacts, messages, mails, applications and all the data on your phone’s internal storage. Your phone will reboot twice. Let it boot after factory reset. Once you are on the language selection screen, power off your phone
Press and hold down ‘Volume Up’ + ‘Volume Down’ and while inserting USB cable in to the phone. This will get you to S/W download mode on LG F180.
Now you need to flash the firmware you downloaded earlier. Please refer to the guide here:
How to: Download and Install KDZ LG firmware – All Android models
Once the KDZ firmware is successfully flashed, your phone will reboot automatically. Once it fully boots up, go through the setup procedure and again factory reset it as you already did once.
Once you are on the language selection screen, power off your phone
Once again, put your phone in download mode
For converting your phone to E975, we’ll be flashing this E975 Hong Kong KDZ:
Follow the same procedure for flashing KDZ as you did earlier.
Once the KDZ flash is successful, go through the set-up procedure. Now go to ‘Settings > Storage’ and make sure your internal storage is being listed there. If it shows “0.00 GB” there, don’t panic. Power off your phone. Once completely off, press and hold down ‘Volume Down’ + ‘Power’ buttons until the phone displays a hard reset screen. Release ‘Volume Down’ and press ‘Power’ twice for resetting your phone.
Your phone will reboot once again and your phone’s internal storage will be back to normal.
Now you need to root your phone. Please refer to our LG Optimus G universal rooting guide here:
Universal root for LG Optimus G – Any firmware
Once you are done with rooting process, make sure you reboot your phone at least once if it doesn’t reboot automatically.
Now we will be flashing LG F180 baseband. Download your corresponding baseband backup from the list below:
F180S Baseband
F180K Baseband
F180L Baseband
Unzip the downloaded archive and you will find a batch file named ‘modem-flash’ inside it. Make sure ‘USB Debugging’ is enabled on your phone and your phone is in ‘Charge only’ mode while connected to the PC. Run the ‘modem-flash’ batch file.
Keep an eye on your phone screen as you will need to tap the grant permission button on SuperSU pop-up. If you miss the pop-up as it expires after 10 sec, run ‘modem-flash’ batch file again.
Once the baseband has been flashed successfully, reboot your phone
Congratulations! You have just converted LG F180 to LG E975.
it converted successfully but when i insert sim in it says invalid sim card , i have updated the base band given in above link but no luck then i tried to flash the original rom with many version for this set same thing again ,no signal no network .i think i mess up with the orginal modem without taking any kind of backup.
I need expert advise here how to fix it and which kdz to use to fix it.
looking forward for your reply.
Thanks,

[Q] [HELP] change baseband

is there a way now for lg optimus g to change baseband?
I bought LG optimus G F180K (KT version -olleh), I'm from Philippines btw. I can't get 3G even with the original device setting. I flashed E975-10a firmware which I downloaded from the LG site for firmwares. I'm sorry I'm noob about this. I flashed the KDZ file without unlocking the bootloader, is that ok? Anyway, everything went well, but still I only get 2G signal. I think I need to change the baseband in order to get 3g or 4g. HOW DO I DO THIS?
Thanks!
Edit:
BTW my current baseband is APQ8064/MDM9x15M
kernel: 3.4.0
build #: JZO54K
I read somewhere in the forum that after he flashed the E975 firmware on his F180L device, he then flash the orginal baseband for F180L. Can someone provide a flashable baseband for F180K? I would greatly appreciate it.
I got this from another thread

Sure, you must do this.
First: Root, Enable USB Debugging, Download this file: (I can't post the link since I have less than 10 post as of now)
2. Copy this baseband.img to Internal Storage (/sdcard)
3. Run file flash_baseband.bat
4. Follow the guild.
5. Your phone will reboot and finish! :victory:

Here they simply flash the baseband. Is there someone out there who would generously share the how to flash the baseband for F180K?
i own an lg optimus G e970 at & t version on ics
i rooted it.... installed slick JB on it http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2084431
but forgot to install the modem via recovery.... so when i turned my fone ON, i had carrier network signals available but wifi was not working....
i downloaded a KOREAN kdz for f180L and tried flashing it on my e970 via R n D tool...it was successfull but when my fone rebooted, it was country locked (required some password at the beggining)
so then i started looking for the other kdz,s available online (as i was specifically looking for kdz for at & t LGOG)
then i found a brazilian kdz for e977 and flashed it to my fone via R n D tool and my fone booted up.....everything working but no network signal showing a sim error icon in status bar
edit 1: finally i got the LGNPST to work and flashed the stock at & t rom but still it shows "no sim card"
flashed a different jb radio...its getting weak signals
working on it now
may be need efs

F180k successfully converted to e975(rom) network problem

I CONVERTED FROM STOCK KOREAN ICS ROM TO PHILIPPONE E975 ROM.. PERFORMANCE WISE ITS GOOD, LESS THAN 1GB USAGE OF RAM. BUT OHAVE THIS NETWORK ISSUE AND I CANT CONNECT TO MOBILE NETWORK.. WIFI AND BT IS OKAY BUT MOBILE NETWORK NOT WORKING.. CAN ANYONE HERE PLEASE HELP ME? MYCARRIERS BAND ARE 2100 FOR 3G and GSM ALL BANDS
EDIT: NETWORK PROBLEM NOW FIXED!!! SEE PAGE 2 OF THIS THREAD
did u flash basedband of f180k after converting to international optimus g..
Q: I'll ignore your advice,I still want to convert to E975 my korean model. What are the risks?
A: The hardware specs are the same, the difference is made by 4G(LTE) modem. Asia is using different LTE bands than Europe. So,you have to flash korean modem from HERE .Thanks houstonn for his work.
http://downloads.codefi.re/houstonn/lgog/modem/korean/cwm-lgog_f180k_modem.zip
flash it in cwm and u are ready to go..
. I gave him the same answer.
sorry kimitza i didnt see ur post...
Thanks guys!! I flashed the zip korean modem through cwm! But be warned imei will be lost so backup your imei first just follow the thread here somewhere on how to backup efs partition. For me i used manual method thru terminal and uploaded my backup in my dropbox for future use . For all those who will convert korean to international backing up ur efs is most important!!!
If you'll post exactly how you did it, i'll add it to FAQ,so it will help others.

mobile network now working!!!
So ,you used freegee to restore the efs partition?didn't this relocked your bootloader? I wanna understand this cleary,so i can put it for everybody
HERE'S ALL OF IT FROM BACKING UP to NETWORK FIX(THIS IS FOR THE KOREAN 180K)
1) FIRST OF ALL CREATE BACKUP OF YOUR EFS PARTITION!!!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2164749
WHAT I DID IS THE MANUAL METHOD in the Terminal and transferred the 3 .img files to a safe storage(m9kefs1.img,m9kefs2.img,m9kefs3.img)
DONT USE OPTIMUS G TWEAKER FOR EFS BACKUP BECAUSE IT WILL REPLACE THE MODEM U WILL BE FLASHING THAT'S WHAT I NOTICED!!! BETTER TO DO IT MANUALLY
2)KDZ firmware update thru kdz updater (i used e975 PHILIPPINES ROM)
-KDZ FILES GREATER THAN 1GB WONT WORK IT WILL GIVE U EXTRACTION ERROR USE LESS THAN 1GB
3)AFTER KDZ update RESET FACTORY THRU HOLD VOL DOWN + POWER TO REMOVE CACHE AND DATA FROM PREVIOUS ROM (IF UR PHONE WORKED FINE AFTER KDZing ignore this step but i got a sdcard 000000 error so i used this step)
4)ROOTED MY PHONE WITH THIS http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2181103
5)FREEGEED TO UNLOCK BOOTLOADER AND INSTALLED CWM TOUCH
USED PLAYSTORE VERSION (need WI-FI for this one)
6)DOWNLOADED F180K MODEM HERE
http://downloads.codefi.re/houstonn/lgog/modem/korean
7)COPY MODEM ZIP IN SDCARD
8)RESTART IN RECOVERY HOLD VOLUME UP + POWER THEN VOL DOWN 2 times THEN POWER TO ENTER CWM RECOVERY
9)INSTALL ZIP FROM SD CARD THEN BROWSE TO THE MODEM ZIP AND FLASH WAIT TILL IT IS FINISHED
10)EXIT RECOVERY AND REBOOT!
AFTER REBOOTING YOU DIAL *#06# it will show IMEI null window and Network will not work because u need your IMEI!
DONT WORRY HERE IS WHERE YOUR EFS BACKUP FOR YOUR IMEI WILL COME IN HANDY!!
11)COPY THE 3 IMG FILE IN ROOT OF SDCARD AND INSTALL TERMINAL EMULATOR!
12)MANUALLY RESTORE THE IMG FILES USING THE TUTORIAL IN NUMBER 1! REBOOT! AND THERE U HAVE IT!!!
NETWORK FIX USING F180K MODEM WILL ONLY WORK IN COUNTRIES WITH THE SAME BASEBAND AS THE ORIGINAL F180K MODEM
GSM900, GSM1800, GSM1900, UMTS2100 (B1)
LTE1800 (B3)
FORTUNATELY HERE IN THE PHILIPPINES ALL BASEBAND ARE COMPATIBLE!
Will add it to FAQ.
PS, you can use kdz updater with bigger files. Just run kdz updater in compatibility mode xp sp3 with admin rights.

open phone . take out mother board .. and read plaque model. if sprint flash sprint KDZ and LGUP. if H815 then do that .. thats the only way to be sure.
U have a refurbished model.Go to nearest mobile repair shop & take out your motherboard to see what model no is written on this. Then flash a rom accoringly. Don't flash any other rom just by assuming else you will brick your device.
Yes my phone is refurbished...
But how to flash the rom?
If I found it to be a sprint version and flash a sprint rom ...it will be locked?I am using phone in India...
Any chance to root the phone and install twrp?
Then flash a custom rom?
Please help...

Most probably it will be locked cause most higher Android versions LG has blocked rooting or unlocking..But you can always browse few threads.
Mine is also a refurbished model with F500L motherboard,LS911 body & had H815 global rom installed out of the box.I am currently on F500L Nougat locked & unrooted..I have tried almost every method. It failed to root & even to enter fast boot.
If you get your proper model no on motherboard then just flash the rom with ToT flasher in download mode with respective DLL.

Any idea's?
Pick the phone, and send it to the place where you bought it. If you have warranty the repair is free, if not, then you must pay sadly.
Still no solution, I even cannot enable OEM unlock under developer options...
It automatically disables it...

Just experienced this issue after changing sim card... Call and Camera stopped working over and over again.
How I solved it: Go to the specific app that is causing you trouble, and clear cache/files (too bad I only found this after 3 factory resets).

[UsU]Dealing with a Frankenstein H810 device

As you have read in the FAQ sometimes when you send your phone away to be repaired (under warranty in my case) you may get your phone back where what is flashed on it does not match the actual hardware. In my case the motherboard was an H810 and the software claimed it was an H812, even SALT thought it was an H812.
Well the good news is just flash on what your motherboard says it is. In my case the H810 unlock and roms both work great. Everything except for the flashlight works but that is a known problem with the LineageOS 15.1 rom as of writing this. The phone has been in use for over a week with no freakouts, reboots, excessive battery drain, overheating or otherwise.
REMEMBER! caveat emptor, this worked for me and might not for you!
TL;DR you should disassemble your phone and make sure the hardware matches up to what you are using to root it with. And also make damn sure you carrier unlock it first before flashing on a custom rom. The custom roms will not carrier unlock your phone and in my case claim to be successful and fail silently.
One additional thing to note here, I do not know if this was incorrectly flashed by the tech or if putting on the H812 rom was intentional. I did not use the stock phone whatsoever so I do not know if all the hardware (calls/camera/flashlight/etc) even worked properly.
@steadfasterX per request.
Hi, I too have a frankenstein h810 device, but I only realized it after I unlocked flashed a custom rom and everything. I bricked the phone, but I'm using the sd card unbrick method to run the phone. With that said, you mentioned to use h810 files and everything should work fine. I've tried that, but with little success. Either there would be no sound or LTE or no video. I'm currently running h812 roms/modems and my lte does not work and my battery performance is less than stellar.
My question is, what are the current builds of the files are you using? Also, what can I do to unlock my phone? I got the code, but it does not work and you mentioned that its best to unlock the phone before installing custom roms.
One last tidbit, when I go into download mode and try to use LGUP to unbrick the phone, it says my device model is unknown. Is this something to do with the frankenstein motherboard?
Thank you
I have a 810 board flashed with 811 software

Thank you for your help

Is that where you got the files? Then I can just extract them from a stock KDZ from the internet myself. I'm wondering if there is anything I can do to unbrick my phone. LGUP cannot recognize my phone model while it is in download mode. Even salt is all over the place with its information. I bricked the phone a while back so I forgot exactly how I did it in the first place.

Ok, I managed to get LGUP running with an edit to the build.prop of the device. LGUP says the phone version is H81220x. I checked the motherboard and it is the same model as baconbacon's LGG4, h810. What are my choices on flashing a proper KDZ? I've read certain things about ARB, but I'm not 100% sure how it works. Looking at the LGUP tool, it wants to select a .tot file. Any suggestions?

You should be able to.flash 812 software on it then. Google 20v kdz for 812 and flash it with lg up. If .kdz extension isn't available select refurbish....it can be tricky but eventually it will give you option to flash kdz
My phone is a 810 with 811 software. So when I used lg up I flashed it back to 811

Should I do 20z? Apparently 20z is for Rogers, which is the carrier the device is with.

Flashed the phone and LGUP says it was rebooting the phone but it never did. Now nothing comes up, not even when the sd card is installed. The only feedback I get from the phone is when it initially opened it vibrates, but no screen nor recognized in windows.
